  • How do I stop safari pop ups?

Every now and then I get a pop up in safari on my ipad, just a small box saying:
    http://topappleapp.info
    Top Apple games
Free download now, the last day!
The only option I have from here is to click ok, which then redirects me to the App Store to a Bingo Bash app. I Anzac obviously just close this and go back to safari, but the website I was on then disappears and say 'Loading, please wait' but nothing loads. Refreshing doesn't help, neither does the back button.
This has always happened on the same website as far as I can remember - just a site I use for recipes called onegreenplanet.org. I have used this website so many times without any problems, but it is very frustrating when this happens.
I have turned on the 'block pop ups' (which was actually already on when this was happening), cleared history and cookies, then restarted but still get the pop up. Any ideas???

I have this problem on an iPad 4 (7.0.4) with Safari, tried 'Block Pop-ups' (was already on), 'Clear History', 'Clear Cookies and Data', restart iPad; all to no avail.
There is something about the sites you are visiting, I'm consisitantly getting it for twitchfilm.com, but not others.
Doesn't happen when I navigate to the same site with Safari on an iPhone 5S (7.0.4), or from  Safari on an iMac (not surprisingly as it is a link to the App store). I haven't tried using another browser on the iPad.
It is very annoying and has effectively barred me from visting this site due to the reasons given above.

  • Safari pop-ups genuine?

A number of times recently when I am online with Safari, small windows pop-up purporting to be from Safari warning of malware, and urging to click on a 'Continue' button to run a check.
These windows look identical to the ones that appear when you choose 'Quit Safari' and there are more than one window open, which has the Safari icon in it and says 'Are you sure you want to quit Safari? . . .2 windows are open in Safari. Do you want to quit anyway?' and there is a 'cancel' and 'quit' button option.
Because there has only been the one 'Continue' button, and not a second ' Ignore' or 'Quit' button that I am usually familiar with, or a 'Close' button, I have always just quit Safari and relaunched it again.
My suspicion is these are not to be trusted . . . am I correct?

Those are malware, do not ever click on pop-ups, in fact, under Safari in the menu bar, select block  pop-ups, which should help to get rid of them.  Under no circumstances should you click on the pop-up window, your suspicions are completely valid!

  • Safari,;pop-ups,adobe flash

i'm trying to load adobe flash on my sons itouch for the disney chanel.safari says it cannot download this file. when i try to learn more, safari say it cannot open a pop up because there are to many pages open. i've tried turning off pop ups turning off pop ups, no difference. my current browser is safari 525.2 and when i try to upgrade my browser to mozilla, i get safari saying it cannot open a pop up thing again. please help

You cannot install anything via safari.
Anything that must be installed is done through itunes app store.
Adobe does NOT make a flash player for ipod touch/iphone.

  • Safari pop ups redirect to the App Store!

Every time I click something in a website while browsing with safari  a pop up comes about in a new window then I am redirected to the App Store. This makes using safari pretty useless and I'd like to fix the problem. Does any one have a solution? Or has any one experienced the same problem?

Does it happen with a particular website only? if so, then that particular website is not compatible with your browser and it redirects you to App Store to download the app which will let you browse it.

  • How to allow pop-ups in Safari for all users

How do you allow Safari pop-ups for all users? After rolling out 50 Mac OSX with Safari comes default with Safari pop-ups disabled, now I must allow pop-ups for all users logging in.
    Good day!

Do you have an Exchange (e.g. a work) email account set up on the iPad ? If you do then it's possible that the account profile is preventing you turning popups 'on', in which case you would need to contact the email account administrator

  • Why do I continuously have pop-ups in new tabs in Safari?

    Hi everyone!
I recently had a lot of my settings changed for Safari, due to my little brother's actions and I don't know why I'm suddenly getting all kinds of pop-ups... For example, whenever I click a link or right before I click a link, a new tab pops up and it can be about the mac or windows cleaning programs... Or inappropriate sites. Like. What, why? I don't know why it's doing all of this, but my brother tore my keyboard keys off my macbook pro's keyboard and he messed with a few other things. Also, whenever I view words and what not, certain words are underlined and happen to have an additional hover-over window in it. It's really annoying and I don't know why it's happening. Whenever I turn on Javascript, it happens, but when I turn it off, it's okay. But a lot of the sites I go on like social media say that I need Javascript to run on my computer, but a whole bunch of stuff comes with it... I don't think Java did this before, but it's super annoying. I really don't know if Java was on, before the accident with my bro. Also, I'd like to mention that several of my keys on my keyboard can't go back in. I literally think that I have general computer issues, but I don't have 2 grand in the back of my pocket to just whip out. So please help me with this :/
    Thank you!

It has something to do with Javascript. I don't know what to do and adwaremedic isn't helping me at all.
Adware often will utilize JavaScript. If you turn off JavaScript, you eliminate the symptoms without removing the cause.
When you say AdwareMedic isn't helping, does that mean you tried it already and it found nothing? If so, see:

  • In IOS 7 some web pop ups freeze, I can only resume safari if I delete data and cookies from the safari settings

I recently installed IOS 7 and I getting used to the new feel.  However, I have encounted a problem at least three times now.  If I am shopping and a web message pops up, such as "you must select size before quantity" or "you have exceeded the number of items" there is a box that displays "ok" for you to acknowledge the mistake and continue.  In IOS 7, the pop ups freeze, I am not able to click "ok" and make the dialog box go away.  My only solution so far is to go to settings -- safari-- clear data and cookies.  Any help or insight would be appreciated!

    My iPad also experiences this.

  • How do I get safari to open pop-ups in new tabs rather than in new windows?

Just recently I took my 13" MacBook Pro (Late 2010 Model) to my local Apple Store. When I brought it there they fixed my problem, but in the mean time they had to completely delete and uninstall Safari and Google Chrome off of my laptop. Before the apple store, my Safari would always open pop-ups and links in a new tab, now they open up in a new window. Does anyone know how to change it so they open in new tabs? The reason I need this changed is I might have unecessary websites open, and they would just be taking up space.
    Thanks for your help,
    –Dan

  • Macbook is running very slow and pop-ups come up constantly while using both Safari & Chrome.

My 2008 macbook has a virus on it caused by me accidentally clicking a wrong download while making a mix tape for a friend ( I was using a website that is not illegal btw) and now my computer is running very slow. As well as having pop ups all over my chrome and safari with EVERYTHING I do. If someone out there could help me its very much appreciated as I am a college student with various online classes. I am running OS X Lion 10.7.5 currently.

  • How do I allow pop ups in safari without being asked "block or allow" ?

I'm assuming that when I turned on the setting in Safari to allow pop-ups, I wouldn't have to tell the browser to allow or block every single pop up after that.  Is there a combination of settings to make allow pop-ups without the additional "block or allow" message from popping up before the pop up window.
I used a 3rd party web application that has been coded for their drill-down messages to be displayed in another screen and I have no control over that.
Thanks for any information you can provide.

Well, not that helpful unless you can determine if that window is coming from Safari or iOS or from whatever the other "3rd party web application" you were talking about.
If you don't want to play in that pool, then assume that iOS and/or Safari are working incorrectly. Your Users Guide has a whole chapter (at the end) devoted to what you do when things aren't going well, generally following the sequence of
Restart - red slider, then boot up again
Force Quit apps - either via Sleep/Wake followed by Home, or via Recents Tray
Reset - hold Home & Sleep/Wake to force reboot
Reset iPad Settings - Settings > General >Reset
Erase All Content -   same as above
Restore iPad Software - iTunes or iOS 5 equivalent
You start at #1 and work your way through until the issue you're seeing goes away. If you get through all of the steps and it still doesn't work, you're pretty much out of gas and have to start talking to Apple.
    So .. start at #1.

My Safari browser is not working well. Junk pages keep popping up and key pages, for me, appear intoxicated by alien pop ups preventing me navigate that page.
I updated to latest Safari version (7.0.4) but the problem persists.
I tried downloading a new version of Safari for Mac OS X Mavericks but couldn't find it available.
    Thanks for your help.

The pop ups are malware. It's not necessary to reinstall Safari.
