Safari Preference doesn't show my extensions.

so i want to uninstall an app i put on safari , i went to safari's preference tab and clicked on the extension tab and to much of my surprise showed a blank screen on that tab. can someone trouble shoot this?

i already have safari 5.1.1.
but thanks for answering. what i did is restart my macmini 5 times to finally get the safari preferences extension tab to actually show my apps.

that plainly says,
"Mac OS X Version 10.6 and below
Use Software Update available on the Apple menu to check that you have the most up-to-date version of Java 6 for your Mac."
This corroborates me saying that Java for Mac OS 10.6 is done through Software Update, no where else.
If any Mac OS 10.6 user does not have Java on their Mac, they get it from Apple just as the link you provided shows it is from Apple. Not Oracle. You have provided the evidence that plainly contradicts yourself.

Just to go over this again. Software Update not only updates Java to the latest, but if Java does not exist at all, SU will install it from scratch. And in doing so will be the latest version.
Providing a link to Oracle's site is useless information that does not get Java installed on a Mac running 10.6.

Downloaded Safari 5, doesn't show after multiple installs / reboots

I went to apple.com and downloaded the latest is Safari 5 at http://www.apple.com/safari/download/ and downloaded the package, ran installation and then rebooted the Mac.
I tried this several times. When I tried to check for any Safari, it doesn't show after installation.
The only contents on the Mac named 'safari' is the .dmg I used. And I tried to install more than once.
I did click on the dmg and did actually use the installer package.
I did also restart the Mac 10.6.8.
I did open my System Profiler (Applications/Utilities), and clicked the gray disclosure triangles so that they face down. No Safari.
I found another thread discussing this, but could not make any of the suggestions work, and several I couldn't even find.

Safari 5 doesn't show all images on a webpage

Hi,
I'm using Safari 5, and my Safari doesn't always show all the images on a webpage but shows a "blue question mark" instead of an image. sometime when I try to reload the webpage, the image (that was a blue question mark) appears but some other images become the "blue question mark".
The "Display images when the page opens" checkbox is checked, the connection has no problems…
I've tried on Safari 5 on my PC, and it doesn't have this problem, all the images loaded well. The problem seems like only appears in Safari on Mac.
it's really annoying…

From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset. Relaunch Safari. Try loading a page now. If you still have problems...
Web pages include a small icon or 'favicon' which is visible in the address bar and next to bookmarks. These icons take up disk space and slow Safari down. It is possible to erase the icons from your computer and start fresh. *To delete Safari's icon using the Finder, open your user folder, navigate to ~/Library/Safari/ and move this file "webpageIcons.db to the Trash.*
Relaunch Safari and try again. If that didn't help...
Go to the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari/Preferences. Make note of all the preferences under each tab. Quit Safari. Now go to ~/Library/Preferences and move this file com.apple.safari.plist to the Desktop.
Relaunch Safari and see if that makes a difference. If not, move the .plist file back to the Preferences folder. If Safari functions as it should, move that .plist file to the Trash.
If nothing above helps, login to another user account and try Safari there. If you have problems with pages loading correctly there, then it's a system wide problem. Hopefully not.

Safari MAC doesn't show some web images

I have OS X 10.8.4 and Safari 6.0.5. Suddenly, Safari is not showing some web images any more. As an example, I cannot see the Google image in google web page and I cannot see anything in Appel web page. I have tried to reset Safari, to empty web cache but nothing works. I can see perfect web pages using Firefox. Any suggestion?

Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
"Develop" menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.
Click Develop and deselect "Disable Images" if selected in the dropdown.

Safari browser doesn't show phonenumbers on my webpage. Why?

If I look at our webpage on Safari the phonnumbers is not there, not in iPad and not in my iPhone but if I change to another browser for ex Mercury , it works!
Is there anything I can do to make it work with Safari ?

I can verify that your phone numbers are not visible in Safari. The strange thing is that they are there and can be selected and copied and pasted, etc. Note that when you touch one of your phone numbers Safari gives you a choice of Send Message, Add to Contacts, or Copy.
The iCab mobile bowser does not have this problem. iCab does not treat the phone number specially when iit is touched.
All I can suggest is to report this bug to Apple. Http://www.apple.com/feedback
You might try the developer forums to get some advice on how to work around this problem.

Trying to find 'Reader' on safari. Doesn't show up??

I am trying to get the 'reader' on safari to work, but when I go to different websites on Safari, it does not come up. Any help?

Negative this is for all ios devices.. up at the top of safri you are going to see where it says "Reader" just click on it and you should be good to go.. I would say about 90% of the web pages I have read with reader work. I am on iPhone 3gs and also iPhone 4 and iPod touch 3g and 4g

Quit System Preferences (right-click on dock icon, then Quit). Launch the Console app (under Applications -> Utilities), and see if you get error messages once you try launching System Prefs again.
Copy and paste those into a post here. Just the relevant ones, not hundreds others.

Quicklook doesn't show PDF files

OSX 10.10.2
Quicklook does not show PDF files and Preview doesn't open PDF files. When I select file => open, all PDF files are grey and cannot be selected. In Finder I select a PDF file and press CMD-i. In the information window I select open with Preview, but nothing will changed. PDF files can only be opened with Adobe Acrobat. When I drop a PDF file from finder to safari, the PDF file will be visible in safari. When I select "open in preview" in safari, preview doesn't show the pdf file. I can see an error in the console "CoreSercviceUIAgent Error -60005 creating authorization". qlmanage -r and qlmanage -r chase doesn't help.

IPTC Extension doesn't show

Hello,
I've been tinkering around with Bridge (4.0.4.2)
Created a template with IPTC Extension checked, IPTC Extension is checked in the preferences as well.
It doesn't show in the Metadata panel though. IPTC Core shows.
Any ideas as to what may have happened?
EDIT: Here's a screenshot of when I create a new template. I can only choose IPTC Core and IPTC Extension, but "Properties selected" always equals 0.

Banner on wordpress site doesn't show in safari

On my Wordpress site I have added a banner from an external link to be displayed on my frontpage. After saving it doesn't show the banner in Safari (but it does show it in Chrome and someone externally tested and said it showed in Explorer; so the html code must be right). The weird thing is it does show the image of the banner in the Snippet Editor. Anyone has an idea what causes this or how to fix this, I want all Safari users out there to be able to see and click on the banner as well!

Some browsers are far more forgiving of errors than Safari, and not everything works the same way in different browsers.
If the image is visible when you use Safari - Develop menu - Disable Styles, then it's presumably a CSS problem that only shows in Safari.
Do test with all Safari extensions switched off, since they can have unexpected results.

Safari doesn't show same content on different profiles

My iMac is running on OS X 10.9.4 and Safari's version is 7.0.6.
We all share the same network in our household but different profiles on our iMac.
I have a Fan Page on Facebook that shows all comments on my iMac profile.
But when the other users try to see the same page on their profiles, it shows the page but not the comments.
But they both can see the page and its comments on their cell phones without a problem.
What should I do to force Safari to behave the same way on all 3 profiles?
Any tips will be most welcomed

From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.

Safari 5.1 not showing extensions on extensions tab

when going to extensions tab on safari's 5.1 preferences menu none of my extensions are showing, i mean nothing is just blank

Could be the preferences are corrupted ..
Go to ~/Library/Preferences. Move the com.apple.Safari.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Desktop.
Quit then relaunch Safari to test. If that helped, move the .plist file to the Trash.
~ (Tilde) character represents your Home folder.
For LIon: To find the Home folder in OS X Lion, open the Finder, hold the Option key, and choose Go > Library

Unable to set cookie preferences in safari 5.1.5 by going to safari/preferences/privacy. It used to be there and now there is nothing showing under that tab.

I had looked at the cookies a couple of weeks ago. I deleted all cookies.
A few days ago my email was hacked into which sent a spam email to all my contacts. I changed my password to that account, warned everyone in my contacts, and haven't had a problem with email since.
However, I tried to do the 'delete all cookies' again and when I go to safari/preferences/privacy...there is nothing on that screen under that tab. Not even a question mark. I changed my history items to be removed every day from every week but don't think that would be the issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Uninstall SIMBL as follows.
Select Go ▹ Go to Folder… from the Finder menu bar, then enter the following text in the box that opens:
/Library
A folder will open. From that folder, delete the items listed below (some may be absent.) You may be prompted for your administrator login password.
Application Support/SIMBL
InputManagers/SIMBL.bundle
LaunchAgents/net.culater.SIMBL.Agent.plist
ScriptingAdditions/SIMBL.osax
Log out and log back in.
Make sure you never reinstall SIMBL. It’s likely to come bundled with another third-party system modfication that depends on it. If you want trouble-free computing, avoid software that makes miraculous changes to other software, especially built-in applications. The only real exception to that rule is Safari extensions, which are mostly safe, and are easy to get rid of when they don’t work. SIMBL and its dependents are not Safari extensions.
