Safari problem after prolonged use.

Right heres my current annoyance with my iPhone 3G, taken from my actual phone:
http://i35.tinypic.com/1zwlpv9.jpg
Browsing the web via Safari is usually a joy for the first 10 minutes or so continual use. I get no errors, no timeouts and speeds are near enough as quick as my 20mb cable connection whilst browsing on my MacBook.
However, after prolonged use of Safari, I start getting the above error almost every time I click on a link or try to change website. If I click on the link enough it will eventually load though. Not only that, as you can see from the screenshot above of Facebook, you can see Safari will change the font and the layout so it looks like the above. Images also wont load. Turning the phone off and rebooting seems to cure it.
I was hoping 2.0.1 and more recently 2.0.2 would fix this but its still there more than ever.
To combat the problem, I hard reset the phone, did a full restore to 2.0.2 and set up a new phone profile but still got the same problem after prolonged use.
Anyone have the same problem or even better, a solution? Im starting to think I have a fault with my iPhone.

What happens when you try? Are you getting to the login page?
Try another browser as a test.

  • Audio Meters "peak indicator" gets stuck after prolonged use of Premiere Pro CC.

Does anyone else have this issue? After using Premiere for a while (maybe an hour or so straight) the audio meters peak indicator will not reset when you start/stop. What do I mean? If your audio level peaks or goes into the red, it stays there like it should letting you know that the levels had hit above +0db. This is normal. This is good. But usually when you stop the timeline and start again, that red peak indicator is reset and disappears. But for me, after prolonged use (which is say about an hour or so), the meters stop resetting and the red does not go away unless I click on the meter to make it disappear. It looks like this even after stopping/starting the timeline:
***Meters work fine for the first 30mins - hour or so of editing. Hitting stop and then start again resets the meters as it should.
***Eventually the peak indicator (see screenshot above) gets stuck and won't go away. The meters continue to work fine, but the red does not go away.
Only way to then reset it is by clicking on the meter itself. Restarting Premiere Pro CC will put everything back to normal again and it should work fine again...for a while...before its starts to lock up again. This issue was present in 7.0.0 as well as the newly updated 7.0.1  I'm on a 2011 27" iMac with 16gb of RAM. (I've submitted a bug report, but curious if this happens to others.)

Maybe it's just you who has that much clipping audio.  Most of us tend to avoid that.
    #Layers
As much as I wish all my audio were perfectly leveled at all times... You mix live weddings with DJ's that don't know their own equipment with layers of audio in post and its a recipe for some +0db audio.
In all seriousness, I do hope that if others see this bug, they'll chime in and that this bug gets fixed. It's annoying.

  • E4200 - Gets hot after prolonged use

Pros: Nice looking. Can turn the back port lights off (but can't turn the glowing white Cisco light off).
Cons: Gets hot (to me) after prolonged use, so I have a side propped up on a coaster pending buying some padded feet for it. Web interface slower to load than expected.
Using with my Dell XPS M1530 with Intel 4965AGN wireless card. Foot away from my router I get about 12MB/sec (about 100mbps). Only saving grace is the range appears to be excellent in my 2000 sq ft townhouse. Router is in one corner 2nd-floor bedroom, and even at the furthest point away in my basement I get about 6 MB/s (about 50 Mbps).
Other Thoughts: Used to stream ISO rips of my legally purchased DVDs & Blu-Rays from my home server to my TVs. DVDs require about 1 MB/s to play without hiccups, which this does fine, but the blu-rays require 5-6 MB/s which this unit can do about 90% of the time. Maybe it's just my approximately 4-year old laptop wireless that can't handle the new speeds?

Did you try changing any settings like the wireless channel manually? Also, if you haven’t already done so, you could try a firmware update. Lots of the initial kinks are usually ironed out with a firmware update.

  • Safari problems after 10.4.11 update

Hi, since I updated to 10.4.11, my auto fill in Safari is not working anymore. Before it worked flawlessly for autofill. Can anyone tell me how to rectify that? I notice that a lot of people are having multiple problems after updating. It's too bad really.
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Martha

My auto fill boxes are checked, yes. What are haxies and third party enhancements? I've never heard of that before. The auto fill is not working on the same web pages they worked on before, it used to auto fill my complete name, address, phone number, and email address. Now I have to do it all by hand.
    Thanks for you quick reply.

  • Using Yahoo mail via Safari problem after IOS8 download

After downloading the IOS 8 update on my I5c, I am unable to sign in to my email account on Yahoo mail. I access this account on my phone via Safari. Prior to the download of IOS 8, I had no problem getting into my Yahoo account. Each time I tried to access the account I would get the Yahoo message :In order to use Yahoo mail, turn Private Browsing off.: I believe IOS8 is the problem because I have used my wife's I5c and get easy access to my Yahoo mail account. Has anyone experienced this problem? And what the heck is Private Browsing?

When I'm using Safari to access my yahoo mail accounts, I can write the addy and subject lines perfectly. The keyboard automatically comes up and I simply type in the info. I accesses my contacts perfectly and auto-types them in as begin the info. The trouble is that the IPad won't let me type anything in the text or message area. I can't get the keyboard to come up at all.
    Any ideas?
Yes, what you describe is correct. With the new Yahoo "Mail Plus" a "smart" editable text box is displayed for the message area which the Safari iPad does not support. To use Yahoo mail you have to switch to the "Mail Classic" view. To do this look for the "Options" pull-down menu item on the upper right part of the mail page and select "Mail Classic". This should work for you.

  • QuickTime in Safari problems after recent update

I noticed that, after the recent 7.1.6 QuickTime update, media content on some web pages (like http://www.comcast.net) do not display. In their place is a QuickTime symbol with a "?." I've attempted to re-install QuickTIme, but to no avail. I've also noticed that the problem does not occur when using other browsers (such as Opera). Any quidance?

Thanks for the link. The file that was recommended to be deleted (com.apple.quicktime.plugin.preferences.plist) didn't solve the problem. However, since the problem didn't affect my other browsers, I tried to delete other Safari preference files (i.e. com.apple.Safari.plist and com.apple.Safari.plist.saved) and the problem disappeared. I didn't find any of this information on the Apple discussion boards, and forgot to look on MacFixIt, etc. Thanks for the help!

  • Safari problem after installing printer

This is the third printer I have installed on my imac.  It is a Samsung all-in-one, as was my Canon an HP printers.  A day after I installed the printer,Safari failed to connect to the internet.  I have an Ethernet connection.  I know the router and cable modem connections are ok as streaming video from Netflix works.  Also when I reboot the internet connection isrestored for awhile then I lose it again.  If I don't reboot, sometime later in the day the connection for Safari is re-established, then it might fail afain after the imac goes to sleep.  I had never had the problem before I installed this Samsug printer. It is the SCX-3405FW. Could this be a virusof some kind?

More likely a coincidence rather than a virus (there aren't any). A few thoughts:
Do you have another browser installed you could use for a while, to see if it's a general network problem or just limited to Safari.
You could try resetting Safari - Safari Menu>Reset Safari.
Check Safari>Preferences>Advanced, click on Proxies and make sure nothing there is ticked (if it is, deselect it but make a note of what was ticked in case you need to re-instate it).
What happens if you operate for a few hours with the printer off/disconnected - does the problem go away?
Not sure of the value of this, but you could try resetting the printing system and then recreating the connection from the Mac to the Samsung:

  • Mail, Address Book, iCal, Safari problems after 10.4.6 update

Updated to 10.4.6 from 10.3.9 via purchased Tiger disks, and have been having problems with Apple basic applications.
Address Book opens, then freezes and must Force Quit.
iCal opens, then freezes and must Force Quit.
Mail opens, but cannot retrieve or send. Cannot Quit Mail, and must Force Quit.
Safari opens, and runs okay, until two letters of text are entered into a search box. I was able to work around this problem by going to Safari > Preferences > Autofill.
I unchecked AutoFill Web Forms "Using info from my Address Book card", and now I can enter text in a Search Box in Safari. I would also get a freeze when I would click Edit on that line.
When switching to a backup User Account, all these applications seem to run fine.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Deselect any boxes ticked under "Select a protocol to configure" in System Preferences/Network - Proxies.
    Relaunch Safari.
Your profile indicates your Mac is running 10.4.3. If that is the case, you need to click the Apple Menu/Software Updates. Minimum requirements for Safari 4 is 10.4.11.

  • Annoying Safari problem after Mountain Lion update...

I've updated my Macbook Pro to Mountain Lion OS X a while ago and now use Safari 6.0 as my main browser. The zoom button (green button with the plus sign) on the top left corner doesn't seem to be working properly, though. Everytime I click on it, the browser's window immediately drops to the bottom of the screen. Might be just a problem with the settings...I've resetted the browser more than twice but the same annoying problem persists. Please help! Thanks.

my understanding of the green + is : it is a toggle between the OS X default windows view for the application ( in this case Safari) and the users settings for the window. What probably happened some time when visiting a web page the web page resized your Safari window to be small and at the bottom of the screen. Hit the green + again and it should be a better viewable window.
When the window is small and at the bottom move it up where you want it and make it the size that you want. Then the Green + will toggle between that view and the default view.

  • Safari problem after viewing youtube video

I've been having a problem with Safari after following links from Facebook to youtube videos. After viewing the video and returning to Safari I only see the address bar. If I minimise the Safari window I get a screen that's 90-95% white with just the top edge of the minimised windows showing. My only workaround is to kill Safari and reload.
Has anyone else experienced this and found a solution to it? I'm wondering if it's a memory related issue.

I have occasional safari-memory issues where I have to kill the background apps and safari to get full function back.
    I either:
    1) kill all apps and reset the ipad with home/power reset.
    2) Kill all apps and run "System Activity Monitor"
The second option I started doing last week and so far, it seems to work OK.
    Mine is an iPad-1.....

  • Safari problems after upgrade - is Apple working on this?

I can't watch YouTube videos, and am having various small problems - like I can use shift-tab to go back a field on some online forms - small but annoying things.
I have read through many of these threads and it seems like the fixes are fairly time consuming. What I want to know is whether Apple knows about all of these problems with Safari and is working (quickly) to address this mess? Does anyone know?
    Thanks

My wife was having this problem. Her phone just occasionally would send people a blank text bubble, but most of the time it was fine.
We scoured the internet for a solution, but while lots of people have the same problem, there was no good solutions out there. People with different phone companies and different phone brands.
In the end, I worked out that it only happened for texts she sends which are 156 characters long. Usually an SMS is just 152 characters long. If you send a longer one, on older phones it splits it up, but new smart phones paste them together so you don't notice. However, they send some kind of code I think to let the phones know a follow-up Part 2 is coming. That means you don't get the full 152 characters. I think by a message being 156 it sort of can confuse a phone to where to cut it off.
Solution? I'm not sure - but we turned on a setting that lets my wife see how long her message is, and if its 156, she knows now to add an extra character or two...
    Hope that helps!

  • Itunes won't close or exit after prolong use.

After leaving itunes open for a prolong period of time (a whole day or longer) I am unable to exit or close the program.
The only way is to force exit in task manager. Any way to fix this?
I've seen past post suggesting Nod32 or Eset software conflicts with itunes. I have tried  excluding the itunes folder and have the latest updated version from eset but problem still remains.
side note: I also notice my podcast smart playlist stops live updating when I am unable to properly exit itunes. Not sure if this is a related issue or separate problem.
    Winxp sp3
    Itunes 10.4.1.10
    Eset Smart Security 5

I found a temp work around to my problem.
Whenever I had iTunes auto update my podcasts it evenetually choke up and not allow me to exit.
I just have to manually click update podcasts once a day and exit/close before updating. Rather annoying.

Try troubleshooting Safari extensions and third party plugins.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test. If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.
If it's not an extensions issue, try troubleshooting third party plug-ins.
Back to Safari > Preferences. This time select the Security tab. Deselect:  Allow all other plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that made a difference, instructions for troubleshooting plugins here.
    And delete the Safari cache.db
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
