Safari Problems Ipod Touch 4th gen
My apologies if I posted this in the wrong place but for about a few days now, whenever I try to use the internet, the screen shows the options to go back a page, change website, etc, but the thing is whenever I try to choose those options, it doesn't do what it's suppose to do. I can't navigate the website either and it's just stuck there. Any ideas on how to resolve this problem?
It would help if you indicated what website you are talking about.
Try the following: Go to Settings > Safari and do "Clear History", "Clear Cookies", and "Clear Cache".
Note that some sites have Javascript which captures attempts to leave the page. Avoid those sites. If you get stuck then one technique to escape is to open a new Safari page and then delete the other offending page.

what do i do if my internet is wep and i need it to be wpa2 because my ipod touch 4th gen connects to the internet but when i click on safari or itunes it says safari cannot open the page because its not connected to the internet. i have contacted apple support and they said to change from wep to wpa2 but when i change it to wpa2 and type in password and connect on my laptop it says the saved setting on this computer for the network do not match the require ments of the network
My 2nd gen works fine with WPA2 and AES encryption.
You may need to go back and start over. Reset the router back to factory defaults, log on as the admin, set up security, DHCP, and make sure the IP address pool has enough IP addresses to lease to ALL of the computers/devices that will connect to that the router. -
My iPod touch 4th gen. Keeps giving me the error message "cannot connect to the app store when I sign in. I can open the app store and browse it but I can't download anything. I have full signal strength with my wi-fi and safari is working perfect. I turned it off and restarted it 3 times now. I have an iPad 2 and the app store works flawlessly with it. What is going on?
Same here on my lpad2. Can access the web just fine from browsers but cannot install new apps or updates in appl store. Seeing a few others reporting same issue tonight so likely an apple server issue and staff will notice it in network monitors and fix it...sometime this weekend.

hello, i have an iBook G4 which is old, it has an OS of 10.4.11 which is called tiger i think, forgive me im new to apple,
it has a version of itunes installed (9.2) which worked fine with my 1st gen ipod touch but ive upgraded to a 4th gen ipod touch and now my itunes version is no longer compatible, the problem is that because my os is out of date i cant install the current version of itunes so i think i need to upgrade my OS.

But first of all make sure that your iBook is above 800Mhz and you have at least 512 Meg of memory. (1 GB recommended)
Please note, that if you do install Mac OS X 10.5 on your iBook, it will not allow you to install the latest version of iTunes version 11. The most recent version of iTunes that can be installed would be 10.5, which will be compatible with your iPod touch 4th gen, provided it's not been updated to iOS 6.
Sadly you can't install any version of Mac OS X above 10.5 Leopard, as it they requires an Intel processor, which your iBook G4 does not have.

ive been trying to update since friday my internet is perfect [speedtest.net] itunes just wont get past [backing up ipod[ i hope they fix this soon and i just wanted to see if anybody else was also having this problem because i want the new features coming with ios but its just not working and it took all night just to get roughly to about 20% completion of backing up ipod then when i got home it said "could not restore ipod its still on firmware 4.3.3 so i dont know why it said could not restore i did click "update" but anyway im having this problem and wondering if anyone else is {i think everybodys having problems itunes10.5 right nowI am having the same problem (lost in back-up purgatory) on both my iPhone 4 and my iPad2. I have gotten used to having to find a windows workaround everytime Apple updates iTunes, and this time it is especially frustrating.
I don't have any solutions, and I am responding to all of these types of messages in hopes of finding something that will work for me.
One person was able to work through it by deleting all of the previous iTunes backup files. I'm trying that now. 4 hours into it, and it does not seem to be working...... -

Problems syncing my ipod touch 4th gen
I am having problems syncing my ipod touch 4th gen to itunes. I keep getting an error message stating iTunes could not back up the iPod "name of ipod" because an error occured. My daughter and I both use the same computer to sync our ipod's and this problem only occurs when I try to sync mine. It works fine syncing hers and I have tried to uninstall iTunes and reinstall it. Please help
Try placing the iPod backup file in a safe location so iTunes has to create an entire new file. It is located here:
Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: If you do not see the AppData or Application Data folders, you may need to show hidden files (Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7), or iTunes may not be installed in the default location. Show hidden files and then search the hard drive for the Backup directory. -
i have an ipod touch 4th gen ... love it .. but only one problem... the headphone jack is giving trouble.... help me plz!!
Have you verified that it is the headphone jack that is the problem by trying opther sets of headphones?
Have you tried cleaning the jack by using a QTip or similar ite?
If you confirmed that the headphone jack is the problem Apple will ony exchange the iPod for $99, $149 or $1999 depending upon the capacity.
A third-party place like the following is less expensive. Google for other places.

I Moved From New York To Florida, But Kept The Same WiFi/Router, But The Maps App and My iPod Touch(4th Gen. & iOS 6) Is Still Registering My Location In New York.
For location the iPod uses the location of nearby routers that are in Apple's database of routers and their location. Thus it appears that Apple's database is incorrect. You do not have to be connected to the router, just within range.
Apple periodically updates their database based on information they obtain from iPhones, The iPhone has to have turned on the option to send info to Apple. no one has found another way to get the location of a router added/corrected.
You can confirm that by going to well-know place with wifi like Starbucks or McDonalds -
i just today purchased an ipod touch 4th gen but the only music i have on it is what i have recently purchased. my question is how do i get the rest of the library i have on my computer to sync to it. i have tried hitting the sync button but it still wont sync the music onto it. please help

New iPod Touch 4th gen. cannot connect to home wi-fi network
When I launch wi-fi on my new iPod Touch 4th gen. my home network's name is displayed, but after entering my password the iPod is unable to connect - the wheel to the left of the network name just keeps spinning. The network still functions properly for all my other devices (MacBook, 2nd gen. iPod Touch, wireless printer and my wife's PC) and the new iPod Touch did connect to the network in the Apple Store when I visited yesterday. I know the password I enetered for my home network is correct because I've checked it in my keychain, and also the iPod did not inform me that it was the wrong password for that network - as it does if I enter another password.
I have followed the advice given to others - unplugging the Time Capsule and leaving it for 5 minutes, checking that all my software and firmware is up to date, 'forgetting' the network on my new iPod then searching for it again, and have completely restored the iPod - but it still cannot connect to my network. If my network is functioning properly, and my new iPod was capable of joining the Apple Store's network yesterday, and I am sure that I am entering the correct password, it seems to me that my problem must be due to some network setting that is refusing to allow a new device to connect. I can't find where that setting might be - can anyone advise?depending on what router but hopefully all routers came to this default address....

and so on till i reach both of them to 6 (1by1) to make sure i get it in there right. saw this on another wall it might depends on what channel your using, but i dont rly think that matters bc i have mine on auto and nvr had a problem.

this should work bc i did it myself when i couldnt get connected bc thats almost the same steps i did.

i recently purchased an in app purchase which is showing up on my itunes account as a purchased but has not shown up on my ipod touch 4th gen. (think it was due to losing my wifi connection during download).
i went into problem solving on the itunes store to rectify the issue to discover that i needed to go via my app store on my ipod to purchase history, which on the ipod touch 4th gen is supposidly at the bottom of downloads... after trying this i discovered that i have no option to go into purchases as this does not exist on my downloads options nor does it exist anywhere on my ipod version of the app store?? can someone please help?? im miffed. :sThanks King_Penguin for taking time to read and reply.
I just purchased this movie on Thursday, May 15, so just a few days ago. I have never had any trouble whatsoever since I have been in Vietnam. I have downloaded several movies and even music and they have all synced to my respected Apple products except for this purchase.

My iPod touch (4th gen) suddenly went blank, and I can't get it back on!
I was listening to music and downloading songs from the iTunes Store on my iPod touch (4th gen) when suddenly the screen went blank. The music I was listening to was still playing in my headphones. When I unplugged the headphones, the music oddly continued playing from the built-in speakers, instead of pausing like it normally does when you remove the headphones without pausing. I think the music finally stopped shortly after I plugged the headphones back in.
Since this happened, the iPod has not responded at all when I press or hold buttons. The screen has remained blank and turned off. Surprisingly, iTunes still recognizes the iPod when I connect it to my computer (Windows Vista laptop, if it matters) and tries to sync. Since iTunes is very poorly written, it almost always freezes at some point before I can successfully finish syncing, but this was happening before my iPod blank-screened, so it isn't related to the problem.
