Safari Quicktime w any

Almost ever time I launch Safari I get a "?" in the quicktime windows and can't view any quicktime on any site. This happens 90% of time. Sometimes everything works fine.
Any thoughts. Anyone.

Go to your Finder: In your Internet Plugins folder (either HD>Library, or User Account>Library) move the QuickTime Plugin.webplugin plugin to the desktop, then restart Safari. Go to your Safari Menu>Empty Cache, then try the video again.

Incomplete video playback using Safari & quicktime

I am consistently experiencing the problem of only a portion of an internet video playing back when using Safari and Quicktime. When I find a video I want to watch, I use a differnet browser and media player in order to see the entire thing.
What can I do to make Safari/Quicktime work?

You were right about the trim tabs being active. So I tried setting both at the left hand edge and re-saved the movie. But it didn't make any difference. Also tried with trim tabs selecting the entire movie, saved again but again no joy. Note: in both cases I went thru the steps of saving with a new name, importing to iTunes and sync'ing with the nano.
One thing I noticed in the QT Movie Properties Window is that there are multiple audio and video tracks contained in the movie that correspond to my original clips in duration and order.
So I tried using Visualhub in pass through mode to stitch the clips together. This time it worked as expected on the nano. When I looked at the new movie in QT there was only a single video and audio track listed. So the problem seems to be related to QT allowing you to join clips but keeping them as individual tracks within the movie file. Is there a way to fix this without re-encoding the movie?
Although Visulahub works I'd prefer to use QT so I can make quick visual edits before joining the clips.

Hello, Safari doesnt play any video tutorial from apple site. I hear the sound, but there is no video picture on the screen - only the twisting wheel.

What changes did you do & did you restart your computer afterwards?
Have you tried a different browser?
Download the video & then view the Keynote. See if you experience the same issue.

Why does safari/quicktime plugin not allow me to save mp3 files

hello,
there is a website allowing me to download mp3 files. But unlike windows where I can do "save as" -there is no such option available in safari/quicktime plugin.
is it that apple doesn't want me to save any mp3 files?

Help-Safari wont load any pages-others having same problem

Safari wont load any pages. Tried reinstalling Safari. Nothing. Zip. Notice that people on the Safari for Windows board are having the same problem.
WHAT IS GOING ON? Anyone know?
I get the menu bar, but not Bookmarks, etc. Cannot see a blank page. Cannot open a blank page, BUT my efforts (Untitled and Untitled 2) are reflected in the Dock. A right-click there shows that the pages are open, but obviously invisible.
I really need to fix this.
Firefox works. As do other apps.

The last thing I did before this happened was open a .pps file I got in email. If I do what was suggested in the Safari for Win post where someone is having the same problem: empty the cache, everything becomes greyed out. Its as if everything becomes invisible.
If I click on a link in Apple Mail, the URL shows up in the dock right-click as if it has mounted, but it hasn't. No window. Nothing.

Do you actually have a data plan from your cellular provider?
Being connected to 3G does not automatically indicate that a data plan exists on the account or is even set up correctly on the carrier side.

Safari not loading any webpages after 10.7.3 update.

I did the update through software update, and I saw a lot of people having errors with that, but i did not get the cui error, my only issue is safari stopped loading any webpages.
If I try to enter an address in the bar and hit enter, it just beachballs, and than nothing happens, before it used to just keep trying to load it.
I than downloaded the combo updater, opened the dmg, and installed over it, restarted and same issue
Prior to the combo update I repaired any file permissions as well.
How do I get safari to work properly again?
I even uninstalled the clicktoflash extension.

From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache
If that doesn't help, back to the menu bar click Safari > Reset Safari. Select the top 5 boxes click Reset.
If that didn't help, go to ~/Library/Preferences. Move the com.apple.Safari.plist file form the Preferences folder to the Desktop. Quit then relaunch Safari to test. If pages load, move that .plist file to the Trash. Otherwise, just move it back to the Preferences folder.
See if that helps. If not, go to Safari > Preferences then select the Security tab. Deslect: Enable plug ins
Quit then relaunch Safari to test. If Safari loads pages, then you need to troublleshoot Safari add ons > Safari: Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues'
If you have anti virus software installed, disable that. And turn off the Firewall in System Preferences > Security & Privacy. See if that helps.

Use another browser to install Safari again.
You can download Firefox for the Mac, place the download on a USB thumb drive stick it into the Mac and copy it, run the installer.
Once FF is on, download a new copy of Safari from Apple's site.

Safari wont load any website

I try to launch Safari and it just spins. I have tried the "reset safari" and still has not worked. It states that " safari could not open the page "http://www.mac.com/" because the server stopped responding."
However, I am working on FireFox so the server is working. Help!

If you open the Date & Time System Preferences, you can select an option to use a Network Time Server. Does selecting a Network Time Server keep the time correctly? (Of course, you will have to be online some time during the day for the time to update itself.)

What happens if you try to visit any other Web page? Do you see an error message? If you open the "Activity" window from the Safari > Window menu, do you see any activity running?

Do you mean to say that iPhoto is NOT allowing you to upload photos? Again, do you see any kind of error message? What does happen? Does your camera or memory card appear on the Desktop as a hard drive? Can you open the Image Capture application (from inside the /Applications/ folder) and use that to download some of the pictures to your Desktop or another location?
If you use the Accounts System Preferences to create a new user, log out and log in as the new user, can they import pictures with iPhoto? Does Safari work correctly for the new user as well?

Triple-click the line of text below to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):

from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

Hi, i switched on my imac and safari, quicktime and preview were disappeared from my application folders, i had to reinstall again quicktime and safari but i don't know how to replace preview. How is it possible that this 3 applications are disappeared???

and then re-download the 10.5.6 combo updater for your system to update everything to the correct version.
The likeliest cause is that someone had access to your machine and deleted them for whatever reason.

Try changing the channel in use in case you're getting interference.
If you have WEP enabled on the Internet Sharing it'ss worth disabling it whilst troubleshooting the connectivity issues.

Why does the iTunes 10.4.1 update take me to to Apple's download webpage (to download a full version of iTunes) instead of the usual Safari/Quicktime pop-up/dialog box where I usually perform the updates?

iTunes 10.4 and Safari 5.1 contain more than 'just' the OSX Lion-release but stability and security improvements as well.
For example, here is http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1070 what the Safari 5.1 contains.
In here http://www.apple.com/macosx/uptodate/ I can't find an "end-date" for the download of the Lion installer.
Nonetheless, personaly I would download the Lion installer and then copy it (from your Apllications folder) to a secure place (backup harddisk, external hardisk etc.).
When your IT gives it a go you can then use te Lion installer from inside the Applications folder, but I would also say to make a bootable clone of your current OSX Snow Leopard before starting the Lion installation.

Basic troubleshooting steps might help. If you are using the iPad 1, low memory issues may be causing the app and Safari to crash.
Quit all apps completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Definitely do this - Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

DNXhd QuickTime crashing any CC app

Hi! Having a pretty weird issue with Quicktimes with any flavor of DNXhd exported from Autodesk Flame or Smoke, they crash ANY CC application, but they work perfectly fine on any other Adobe CS6 application, or any other application, called Dofital Fusion, Media Composer, etc...
This happens on all of the computers where we installed CC, Mac and PC, desktop, laptop, etc, 8 machines, all the same problem...
I think most of you are going to say, report it to Autodesk, I already did, but think, CS6 and any other app open these movies just fine, only CC crash with them..... Anyone from Adobe here that would like to get a small QT to check what is going on and get it fixed? This is extremely disruptive for our workflow and is preventing us from using CC

An EDL is just an Edit Decision List. A text file that contains the timecodes of Ins and Outs of clips, not even containing paths, formats or anything, it’s and all and obsolete format being replaces by AAFs and XMLs, but certainly not a format that includes or have any sort of media. AAF is the only format that might include media as a wrapper, and not widely used by anything but Protools.
I appreciate you try to find a workaround, but in this case, an EDL is not the answer, since it is just basically a just a cut, once I get the EDL back to Premiere, I still need to export the media in a format that PPro can understand. For future jobs, I can switch the media format, in fact I’m using MXFs now, but I have a huge library of stuff that worked fine and now it does not, and I can’t change that neither transcode hours of material because CC apps have a regression and can’t open them.
Plus, Extreme Reach, one of the biggest distributors of spots to TV networks, takes DNXHD QTs as the deliverable, and once studios and people start to roll to CC, you are going to have a storm of ….. hitting the fan… that is why I’m suggesting to take this very seriously and rush a patch for it.
