Safari Quits Loading Too Soon

What is up with Safari and its timeout? I am still stuck on dialup. We don't have asphalt, let alone cable or DSL. But Safari always quits trying to load pages before they're finished. In particular, www.macdailynews.com (although this isn't the only site). If I try to load it in a background tab, it just never loads. In a foreground tab, I might have to refresh the page 4 or 5 times before it loads. Meanwhile, Firefox loads it just time, foreground or background tab.
Before I switch permanently to Firefox, is there any way to fix this?

I'm curious about the "time out" error. I can't find if and where this is set. I also use a dial-in connection and get the error with some Web pages of images but not other will far more images or equal or more total size of bytes of images. It seems dependent upon the Web page and how images are handled. For example:

The first only loaded 14 of about 38 images and the second only about 4-5 of 12 images. Reloading will always get more images, often taking 3-4 reloads to pick up all the images.
But I can easily load 100+ images from any portfolio on Photo.net.
I don't have any problems with either of the above (problem) Web pages with Netscape or Firefox. They don't time out. And people have tested these same Web pages with faster connections to let me know it works fine. So, is there a setting or flag to fix this for slow(er) connections or dowloads?
