Safari really slow on my iPad 2

Hello, i noticed that my ipad2 is really slow when I want to watch YouTube videos... Help

Speed Test is an app that you download in the app store.
Try any or all of these basic troubleshooting steps and Safari's performance may improve. After each step, try Safari and see if it helps.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Quit all apps and restart. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

About a day ago my safari is REALLY SLOW on LTE.  It will take about 1 minute to load a google search and even longer for website with a lot of content.  Apps will load data fine within a few seconds.  It's just any websites i try to load take forever.  Anyone else experiencing this?

  • Is Safari really slower than Firefox?!

    Hello,
I'm trying to migrate to Safari, after years of using Firefox. One unsettling thing I've discovered is that for some reason when I click a bookmark in Safari very often there is a pregnant pause before it takes my to the requested page. Sometimes it freezes up all together & never takes me to the page so I have to retry getting to the page. This never happended with Firefox.
Are my Safari settings somehow off or is Safari really that much slower than Firefox?
    Thanks.
    Jim

Something's not right. Safari and Firefox should load pages the same.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Reset Safari
Select:  Clear History / Remove all website data / Clear the Downloads list
Click Reset. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that didn't help, open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that didn't help, try troubleshooting extensions and third party plug-ins.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test. If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.
If it's not an extensions issue, try troubleshooting third party plug-ins.
Back to Safari > Preferences. This time select the Security tab. Deselect:  Allow all other plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that made a difference, instructions for troubleshooting plugins here.

  • My Internet is really slow in the iPad 3. It was pretty fast in my iPad 2!

    It's really slow!

    Hello Diego,
If you are having issues with slow performance on your Wi-Fi, take a look at the article below. It will walk you through using Wireless Diagnostics and also if you go further down the article and there is a section for slow performance.

  • Safari really slow lately!!! (sometimes wont load a page at all)

I've been using Safari for about 2 years and it's been my favourite browser because its been the fastest and most reliable. Within the last few weeks, however, I can't seem to get a page to load entirely unless I press the Stop button myself. And even then I'll get a page with most of the links and a few question marks for pictures. This is the case for basically every site I visit. In addition, flash sites are painfully slow. I've reset Safari, the computer, repaired permissions, run basic maintenance operations and nothing seems to work. I've started using my Windows PC running AOL Explorer instead, at least a page loads without fail. AND the flash pages work 10 times as fast. What could be the problem here? (using safari 2.0.3)

Your steps so far are OK but you may want to try:
1 Trash your user library Caches folder (House Icon with short name in Finder window (hard drive window)GOTO:House icon > Library folder > caches folder
2 Trash the com.apple.Safari.plist file in User library > preferences folder > Safari.plist as well as removing the library Safari folder its self.
3 you can selectivly re-install Safari 2.0 from your OS Tiger Install disk 1, (see Knowledge base article 301229 for how to just select the Safari Application) without doing a complete system Archive and Install.
    4. Create a new Test user account on the system and test how Safari responds in the Test user.
    5. Still no Safari response? have to do an Archive and install (not preserving user and network settings)article 107120

  • Safari really slow, as are all my browsers...why?

I have DSL internet service. i am connected wirelessly through but i can also hardwire directly to the Lynksis 2.4 Ghz Wireless G router. the modem is a Seimens Speedstream 4200. the problem exists no matter how i connect.
About three weeks ago, my Safari slowed to a crawl and has been that way ever since, but only at the office. it typically takes 30-60 seconds to access each web page. when i switch to firefox or camino, i have the same problem. none of the other computers on the office network (Mac and Windows) are having this problem whether they are hardwired or wireless, just me.
Any other internet stuff i do is fast. if i do a download from safari (or any other browser), it is as fast as any other computer on the network. my email is as fast as normal. when i connect wirelessly on my home network, my browsers work perfectly in all respects so i only have this problem on this specific network (my office).
why are my browsers so slow?
    thank you,
    Ian

If your browser is suffering the issue at work, but not at home, it may be something to do with the way the work network is set up. My work network goes through some kind of packet sniffer to help ward off viruses and consequently slows things to a crawl sometimes. What it will do with a download is trickle enough data to the browser to make it think they file is still downloading while it downloads and inspects the whole file. When it has the whole thing, it opens the pipe and lets the computer download it at full speed. So, it seems like a nearly dead connection until the whole page/file is loaded, then gets it. Not quite the same as your case, but I think you may want to talk to your IT department and if they're doing something like that which might cause your slowness issue.
Since it started 3 weeks ago, ask them or the internet provider if anything changed in their setup.

  • Safari Really Slow To Load First Page on Startup

I'm using Safari 4.0 on OS 10.4 on a PPC. When I first launch Safari, it takes a really long time, several minutes, to load the first page which is Google. I can hear the hard drive running the whole time it takes to load. Subsequent page views are fine. I've cleaned caches and stuff, but it didn't help.

    HI David,
First, please take a moment and click My Settings on the right side of this page and complete your forum profile. Tell us which Mac, exactly which Mac OS X, and which version of Safari you are running. Thanks! To see which version of Safari you have, with Safari open, from the Menu Bar click Safari, About Safari. The version number is displayed there.
Also, you need to be running Mac OS X 10.4.11 and have the most recent Security Updates installed.
To see which version your Mac is running, from the Menu Bar in the Finder, click the Apple icon
 then click: About This Mac. The version number is displayed there.
As for the Security Update, open System Preferences/Software Updates - Installed Updates
Make sure you see this update: Security Update 2009-005 (Tiger PPC)
If not, go here and download that update. http://support.apple.com/downloads/SecurityUpdate_2009_005__Tiger_PPC
    As for trouble shooting...
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Empty Cache. When you are done with that...
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset.
Go here for trouble shooting 3rd party plugins or input managers which might be causing the problem.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1594
    Clear Google History
    1. Go to the Safari Menu
    2. Select Preferences
    3. Select Autofill tab
    4. Select the Edit button from the Other Forms Line
    5. From the AutoFill list of sites select Google.com
    6. Select Remove
    7. Select Done
    Restart your Mac.
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. *Make sure you always have a minimum of 10% to 15% free disk space at all times.*

  • IOS 8 is slow on my iPad 3

Just loaded iOS 8 on my iPad 3. I like the new features. But it's really slowing down my iPad. I really notice it on webpages. But applications are slow to load as well.anyone have any ideas on how to improve this other than buying the most recent iPad.

iOS  8 slows all my  devices (iPad 3 retina, retina and iPad mini iPhone 5s). The Apple Team already accustomed to updating their half, losing credibility. If we remember the software was why we paid a lot more money, and we were left with smaller screens.
My ipad 3 with ios 8 slows  home button (2 seconds) to show home screen.
    Multitasking (3 seconds)
Spotlight takes to load the images of the Apps
Transfer apps wifi with my smart TV no longer work
    Safari takes twice to load.
Whattsapp lost the support of my conversations.
And ... We are still hoping to use two apps (at least) on the screen of iPad or iPhone.
If the new iPhone 6 will want to look at Samsung ... The option is to migrate?

  • Safari is running really slow??

When I go on safari it runs really slow? Any suggestions??

The the basics. Pay attention to the last suggestion, and try that one first.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Quit all apps completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Restart the iPad.

  • IPad really slow and can't load web pages

I tried to ask this question from my iPad mini, but it was not possible to type in this field, so apparently support is another page that I can't load. Suddenly iPad won't load web pages, and is really slow...I already cleared safari cache and history...what now? have not updated to ios8.

    Hello LizBMac,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
If your Wi-Fi network is loading images slowly, then I recommend that you follow the information in the article linked to below.

  • Ipad 4 retina display is slow after iOS 8, also upgrade the the iOS 8.0.1 i think and safari is slow, animations are slow, and i can't restore it to iOS 7, there it was great.

ipad 4 retina display is slow after iOS 8, also upgrade to iOS 8.0.1 i think and safari is slow, animations are slow, and i can't restore it to iOS 7, there it was great. i mean its like my iphone 4 with iOS 7 in its best days. i hope no to get stuck again, i mean please let me go to the iOS 7)).

Upgraded my ipad4 from ios6 to iOS 8 because the new WSJ app required it. HUGE MISTAKE!!!!!!! I can maybe understand some apps being slower but not Safari or Chrome. Apple must be throttling back the ipad4 processor even more with ios8 to force an upgrade to the next gen iPad whenever it arrives.
