Safari: redirect for download on CNET and ZDNET
When I press the download button on these sites I'm redirected to another page for the download. I have been having problems recently when trying to download apps, etc. I can't download from these sites anymore even when I log in. At the top of the screen in the gray bar it says "redir 1 x 1 pixels." I'm running OS X 10.5.8 and have all of the updates for Safari.

I tried this but still having the same problem and on other websites. Now I am experiencing a problem of downloading a sound file from a website that was sent to me. It opened the file before it gave me the chance to save and download it. It opened on a page with tons of letters and numbers. Could the last two security updates for Safari have caused these problems?

BabuCheck Settings/iTunes and AppStore/AppleID and make sure that your AppleID is filled in. If not , sign out and sign in with the correct info.
To make sure that no other apps or videos are on your device than the one you bought, set it up as new device, explained here: How to back up your data and set up as a new device
Content that is not bought with your ID can't be used on your phone, that's why his ID and password is asked when you try to use those apps downloaded in the store. -

Accessing the itunes store and joining this forum are different accounts than an icloud account, so it's not necessarily true that your ID for icloud is the same as for itunes.

When I click on download button, it goes right to the "thanks for downloading" splash page,and yet nothing has downloaded -- no download file box comes up, nothing.
I stupidly uninstalled the version of iTunes I had working on my notebook when the update kept failing and am now unable to get anything happening at all.I had probs with 7.2. Reloaded 7.1 works fine. I think 7.2 needs some more work before it will work for me.

How to set Safari asking for download location
The only reason keeping me from using Safari:
Not been able set safari to ask for download folder.
I've used a folder action that moves a file and asks where, but with large files it only does that when download is finised.
(and I have to select "other" first)
In my line of work I receive many large files every day, so this is no real solution.
Please APPLE, make the user experience like it should be.
Make "ask for downloadfolder" an option in Safari (again)…I also have this problem and its extremely frustrating because I enjoy Safari as a browser.
For example, in Chrome's download settings, you have the folder selection as well as the option to "Ask where to save each file before downloading." In Firefox, you have the automatic folder option, but there's also one that says "Always ask me where to save files". What do I have to do as an Apple customer to get the developers to consider adding in something the other browsers have by default?
My download folder is segmented into many folders that each have sub-folders, some of which go down several tiers deep. When I download something that doesn't give me the option to Ctrl + Click, it automatically goes into the "Downloads" folder, which means once I'm done downloading my files, I have to sort each download and move it accordingly when the option should have existed in the first place. -
Waited hours for download to complete and then it didn't work
I purchased the app for Mountian Lion to update from OS X 10.6.8. Tried to download today. Waited hours for the download to finish and then got a message that it couldn't download and to try again. Trying again but taking forever again.

Instead you can download the current releases of Designer -
Designer10g(9.0.4.7) and Designer10gR2(10.1.2.2) from

This can be a standalone installation but if you are interested in generating Oracle forms/reports from Designer, then you will have to install this on top of the corresponding iDS releases ie iDS 10g(9.0.4) or iDS 10gR2(10.1.2.0.2). iDS can be downloaded from

I purchased a movie from the itunes store, it had errors (25) in the down load, and it does not allow me to down load again. I just get directed to the Store, and Check for available downloads, which when selected again informes me that 25 errors occured, etc... how do I get this fixed so I can download the movie?
Yes, done all that but there is no adobe flash player listed in the add ons >plug ins site. However in the program listings on the start section adobe flash player is displayed.
I have tried down loading it again and although I have done this from downloads and it displays as done it does not reappear in plug ins.

I have an iMac with OSX 10.6.8 & I mistakenly added Safari for OSX 10.9 on it and now I can't use Safari. Is there any way to uninstall the newer Safari and leave my older version with its bookmarks, etc. or do I have to delete it and reinstall the proper update ?
Let it go... these DL's take forever, depending on the spped of your connection and the traffic on the servers.
If by morning it is still sitting there restart and the DL should pick up from where it left off. -
