Safari screen 'disfigured' while scrolling

A strange disfiguration happens when I surf with Safari, on my Intel iMac.
When I visit CNN.com for example, and I scroll down, I get thin horizontal 'slices' of a sentence directly above the sentence itself.
It is as if the screen is not build up quickly enough, or something like that.
I have to select the area to correct the situation. I discovered that if I want to take a picture of it using shift/apple/4 (so: also 'selecting') it is also corrected.
I have a pic of the fault, made with shift/apple/3, so I can you show you what it looks like.
What is the matter and what can be done about this?
Thanks very much!

Rene,
Pages tear when scrolling implicates Sidetrack 1.3.
Pages tear when scrolling vertically implicates CopyPaste-X.
Do you have any of these or perhaps other enhancers installed?

  • Screen Stuttering While Scrolling MBP Retina

Updated to Mavericks and have major stuttering while scrolling in Safari and in dock. Anyone else?

Have been trying now for 2 days to find the cause. Still havent found it. However, as it became so annoying I decided to do a clean instal. Carbon copy cloned all files. Clean instal of Mavericks and new user set up. Did a full test before bringing over any data. Fixed the issue. Then used migration assitant to bring everything back. The only thing i didnt bring over was computer settings. Have now been testing for an hour or so and no tearing issues when scrolling. Also the dock animation is normal. Had a few very small problems with missing drivers but was easy to fix.
Note: Found that the easyiest way to replicate the issue was using geastures with the magic mouse or trackpad to scroll accross to a second desktop and back to the first. Saw the most tearing in this process. Since clean install, all works fine.
Hope this helps. Pain in the A** but atleast a fix.

  • N86 Screen blinking while scrolling messages!!!

When I go to messaging inbox and scrolling the messages using the right and left navigation keys the screen blinks completely for about 1 second when I scroll from message to another.
But when I go to Log and scroll the events what is changing on the screen is the information only, I mean the network and battery bars on top are not blinking.
I found this problem since firmware v21.006 and it also exists in V30.009.
Anybody having this problem or it is only me?

More on this. I tested two MacBooks and one MBPro (new) in the store and they all have the same scrolling artifact that mine does -- in Safari, but not in Finder, etc. -- just as I'm seeing it. An older (old design) MBPro does not have that artifact.
Showed it to one of the Geniuses and he saw it too, but it was news to him. Since it happens in Firefox and Safari we concluded it might relate to a common SDK element used in each program.
Anyway, I'm content now: It is what it is (vs. a defect in my particular unit) and otherwise I'm quite pleased with this MacBook. The artifact really has no practical impact on my use of the computer.

  • IPhone 3GS screen shakes while scrolling

    Hi everyone!
I have an iPhone 3GS. Everytime I try to search for songs or browse the net, I have to scroll down and up and zoom in and out like everyone else does. Now the problem is when I do this, the screen starts to shake. Can anyone find a solution to this? Please help.
    Manish

O yes, I did a restore too but in vain. Sometimes the problem goes away for a few minutes but it comes back again. It's really difficult to surf the net, let alone use the zoom feature.

Screen vibrates while scrolling websites and in mail - scrolling list of e-mails. Only top part of screen is  when scrolling .pdf it seems to be ok. any suggestions?

    Try a smc reset:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
follow instructions for a battery you
    not remove yourself
    Try a pram reset
Power off, power back on holding the folowing keys:
    OPTION  COMMAND  P  R
Continue to hold these keys till you hear the start chime 2 times then release. Reboot.
If you still have the issue bring it in to an Apple Store Genius bar for a a freevaluation, you may have a hardware issue.

  • When using safari, my screen will suddenly scroll all the way to the bottom and will not resound to any commands.  This affects all running programs.  How do I stop this?

When I am on the internet, my screen will suddenly scroll all the way to the bottom and will not respond to any commands.  All of the other programs are then affected the same way and you cannot even use the commands at the top of the screen becayse they all scroll to the bottom.  After a while, the screen resets by itself.  Help.

It sounds like a problem wih the backlight inverter. Usually they just go, instead of on and off.
In a dark room hold a flashlight on the display when it blacks out. If you can see the items on the desktop, it's probably the backlight.

  • Safari 5.1 not scrolling a whole screenful

It seems that with the new version my Safari sometimes won't scroll a whole screenful when I hit the space bar or click in the scroll bar. It'll just advance a line or so. Never seen this before. Could be that my computer is under some load when this happens, but it neven happened before.

    John...
Check Safari / Preferences - Extensions. If you have any installed, turn that off, quit then relaunch Safari to test.
If it's not Extensions causing this, could be a Safari third party add on. Troubleshooting help here > Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues

  • Signs "A" and "1 2 3" on a screen while scrolling artist-list

Suddenly I've found out, that strange signs appear on my iPod's screen when I scroll the click-wheel to the very beginning and to the very end of a list of artists: the letter «A» in a black square appears in the middle of a screen, and the sign «1,2,3» in the same black square is on a screen when I’m at the end-point of a list. The signs remain on the screen unless I take the finger off the click-wheel. Theese signs cover the parts of the names of artists, which are in the centre of a screen, where the signs appear.
    What's wrong?

It's normal, and believe me, you'll be grateful for it if you ever get a big music collection.
I have about 4000 songs on my iPod now and I'll have closer to 10,000 by the time I'm done encoding my CD collection to MP3 and when I'm scrolling fast it really helps to see those letters! They let you zero in on the part of the alphabet where your artist/song is located so you can scroll more slowly to find it.

  • Lumia 925 blurry text while scrolling

Noticed that my lumia 925 has a blurry text while scrolling, specially when scrolling white text over black background or black text over white background... also noticed some blurry when scrolling tiles on the home screen, this blurry occurred around the black horizontal lines separating the tiles.... compared the scrolling with the 920 and there is a huge difference...
I read that some of the galaxy S4 units has this problem and that this problem related to Samsung AMOLED screens, and you know the lumia 925 has a Samsung AMOLED screen.
Any one has these issues? let me know in comments please..

I have the same issue with L1020.
I am extremely annoyed and disappointed at Nokia for messing up the PERFECT display of L920.
After using L920 for months and laughing at lower quality displays of other phones, this L1020 display feels like those typical phone displays.
Are nokia engineers so incompetent or everyone of them have vision issues that you ship a phone with such s**t quality?

Can you still access your Bookmarks at the top of the Safari screen?  If so, select it and choose History.  Then click Clear History at the top of the History window.
If that does not help, double-click the Home button.  A row of recent Apps will line up along the bottom of the screen.  Scroll across and find Safari.  Press and hold on it until it starts to wiggle.  Then click on the red minus sign to remove it from the list.  Click the Home button to stop the wiggling and again to return to the Home screen.  Now see if Safari is working any better.
If still no improvement, try resetting (rebooting) the iPad.  Hold both the Home and Sleep buttons for several seconds until the Apple logo appears.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow.  The iPad will restart after a couple of minutes.  Resetting this way will not hurt anything, and sometimes clears up mysterious problems.

  • Safari always opens with "Welcome to Safari" screen. Home page not saved.

After a clean reinstall of Yosemite on our mid-2010 iMac and an upgrade to Safari 8.0.2, my partner is greeted with the "Welcome To Safari" screen each time he launches Safari.
In addition, his home page is not saved and the Favorites bar, which is set to be displayed by default, does not show.
My own Safari experience is unaffected.
Has anybody else experienced this and any suggestions on how to fix it?
    Thanks in advance.

  • When images appear for a search in safari, you must continually scroll by finger to keep the images loading. Is this a bug?

When images appear for a search in safari, you must continually scroll by finger to keep the images loading. Is this a bug?

Tried that but no change. Details - open up safari and go to yahoo - for the main search at the top, I put in Bears. It shows pages of thumbnail pics. tapping once on a thumbnail gets you that image and then tap again to get added info. At that point, it fills the screen. But in  order to see more info I have to drag a finger upward to reveal more of the details. I then have to continually do that in order to reveal more details for the searched item. It then pops up to the top each time and repeating that process many times in order to see more of the image data. Don't know how to fix this.
    Thanks

  • Early 2013 rMBP (10,1) Freezes While Scrolling, Yosemite 10.2.2

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013)
    2.7 GHz Intel Core i7
    16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 (Factory installed)
Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB
I installed 10.10.2 on January 28th. Since that time, I’ve been having this same problem, progressively more often:
While scrolling via two-finger trackpad swipe (always scrolling down), the computer freezes and completely locks up - no clock or pointer movement. If there is audio playing (iTunes), the audio acts like a scratched record and keeps blipping 1/2-second or so clips over and over. After about 30 seconds, the computer reboots itself. When it starts up, there is no crash report dialog that appears, nor is there a record of the crash in Console. Most of the time, the scrolling has been in Safari, but it has also happened while scrolling in Chrome, and in NewsBar (an RSS reader).
This behavior has been happening more frequently over the last week or so (at least a dozen times in the last week), which makes me concerned about a possible hardware issue.
    I’ve:
Repaired Disk from recovery mode (no errors found)
    Repaired Permissions from recovery mode
Queried the previous shutdown via Terminal (always -128)
Booted into Safe Mode (can't replicate there, but it happens at very random intervals, so I may not be in safe mode long enough)
Turned on and off other things people tried in various Apple threads
    Disabled my two Safari Extensions
Run Apple Hardware Test (extended) (no errors)
    Reset SMC
    Reset PRAM/NVRAM
I back up several ways, so I’m not worried about losing my data. I have taken screenshots of the last few boots after panics, and I’ve run EtreCheck. I’ll post those details in a separate post below to keep this post shorter.

    Here’s an EtreCheck report:
