Safari Share

How can I change the default email on Safari's share from Outlook to gmail?

In Mail application open Preferences and go to Composing section and change Sent new message from to your gmail account.
Otherwise, to what i can see, the message will be sent from the last used/viewed account in Mail application.

  • Safari - Share a webpage/link

When I click on the Share icon at the top of an open Safari page it reads "No Service". What do I need to do to activate its features?

Found this on another string yesterday and it worked for me.
    Go to:  /system/library/privateframeworks/sharekit.framework/versions/A/plugins/
Click on each plugin in turn, opening with the widget simulator. Ignoring the error messages.  You will then find them both in the system preferences>Extensions and the Safari Share Menu.
It's a weird work around, but it works.
    Hope that helps.

  • Adding Reminders to safari share sheet

It would be nice to be able to add a link (from a website) to a task in Reminders from the Safari share sheet the way some other task managers implement this. Does anyone have any idea how to accomplish this?

Same here. Seems to be a bug. Hopefully ironed out with today's 8.1 update ...
Btw: There is an other thread covering the same issue: Share Sheet/Actions sort order?

  • IOS Safari share menu

I know I can reorder the icons in the Safari share menu (on my iPad) by choosing more and then dragging them up or down. However, after doing so and restarting Safari at a later time the icons have reverted to their original positions. I want my "print" icon to be first followed by "add bookmark". However, they never stay this way for long. Does anyone have a fix for this or is it just another bug?

It is another bug as far as I can tell. I have the same experience as you and I have seen other users talk about this as well.

  • Cannot send email links from Safari share button in iOS8

    Hi All:
This is a new one for, and not something I have experienced since link sharing was introduced. I am running iOS 8.1.1 on my iPhone 6. When I find a web page I want to share in Safari, I tap the Share icon, and the share sheet comes up. I select Mail, and a pre-populated email sheet appears. I can type text in the Message or Subject fields, but if I try to select a different sender address or enter a recipient address, the email message simply disappears. it's not in Mail trash or Drafts. It's just gone. This does not happen with my iPad mini 3 at all. Also does not happen on any of my family members' phones.
Obviously, I can Select,Copy,Paste the link into a manual email message. But sharing a link via email does not work in my phone. Any ideas besides a restore?
    TIA!

In Mail, select Mail > Preferences > General > Default email reader: Mail 5.2

  • IOS 8 Safari Share Links Reorder Issue

I have reordered the share links and extensions in Safari in IOS 8 so that my most used features/extensions are easily accessible.
Every time I force close Safari or reboot my phone the order reverts back to default.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue and is there a known fix?

I have this issue as well, for every app in which I've reordered the share options. If I close the app, it forgets the order.

  • Where is Safari "share" button for tweet, mail, print on IOS7?

Updated to IOS7 yesterday. Has the "share" button for tweeting, emailing and printing of web pages been eliminated? I've searched high and low. Only see a bookmark tab, and Apple, Disney, ESPN and. Yahoo.

There should be an icon at the bottom of the screen that looks like a quare box with an arrow pointing up out of the box.  This is the new icon for Share.
If it is not there open Safari, tap the tabs icon bottom right of screen, it looks like two overlapping squares, close all the tabs that you may have open by tapping the x in the upper left hand corner of each tab. Then try killing all apps by double tapping the home button to open multitasking, swipe up on all the pages that are visible.
Then restart your phone, hold both Home and Power buttons down until the Apple logo appears and wait for it to restart.
If this process doesn't work you can try resetting all settings.  Settings => General => Reset => Reset all settings.  This will reset your settings back to factory defaults.  This seems to help with a number of the little glitches that are popping up right now with the new OS.

  • Safari share via email doesn't actually send a email

Since upgrading to iOS 6.0.1 (maybe even 6.0) I found out that the Share Link in Safari doesn't actually send the email with the link you are trying to share.  Can anyone else verify that their iOS 6.0.1 device does actually send the email with the link/web page they are trying to share?  I tested this with my own email address last night and realized nothing was actually being sent (or even waiting in the Outbox to be sent).
If I shared the website via iMessage the iPhone does send the link via iMessage but not via if I try to share through email.

This is a known bug, it should hopefully be fixed next week when they update the software used by this forum.

  • Safari "Share" button causes crash

Whenever i try to share a url using the share button above the address bar, safari crashes. It happens EVERY time i try to share a url, just wanted to know if others have the same issue..
I have the 1.1.1 firmware, and didn't have this issue before the update. I've also noticed more general safari crashes while music is playing, its pretty annoying. So does anyone else have the same issues or is it just my phone?

Never had an issue with it. I would suggest a true reboot.
    A reset/reboot is:
    Go to Home Screen
    Press and Hold Home Button
Keep holding and press and hold Lock Button
    Keep holding Both
You will see Slide to Turn Off (Don't let go to slide, just keep holding)
The phone will turn off (in time, but screen will look like it has some white lines)
    Keep Holding
When you see the Apple Logo, you can let go.
Turning off via the Slide to Turn off while good and fine to turn off, is more like the Sleep Mode on a computer. Thus any locked up issues in memory remain when you turn back on. A reboot as described is like doing a real Turn off and Turn On on a computer.

  • Safari share button for twitter freezes browser

Occasionally, while using the Share Button in Safari to post something on Twitter, I encounter the colorful spinning wheel/icon, causing Safari to freeze. I cannot stop the process, and any open browser tabs become inaccessible. The entire browser window shows a transparent gray color overlay, and I end up having to "Force Quit" on Safari.
As burdensome as this seems, the Share popup window remains persistently visible along with the colorful spinning wheel/icon. So, I end up having to restart my computer...
I'm using an iMac w/ OS X 10.8.4 with the most recent version of Safari.
Any tips to avert this problem, shortcuts to terminate the freeze without having to restart my computer, would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi
I have been experiencing exactly the same problem for the last few weeks.  Before then, it was fine.  now it freezes almost every time I try ot share a link via Twitter using the 'Share' button.  I have tried removing the cache file as suggested but it hasn't helped unfortunately.
Does anyone have any other suggestions?
I have tried deleting and reinstating my Twitter account in System Preference but no change.
I'm not sure if it's a factor but I have noticed that the problem could be related to the drop down list of Twitter handles that pops up when you type @ in the message.  I've noticed that if the handle I want is in the drop-down list and I select it from the list, the message can be sent.  But if the handle I want doesn't appear in the list and I type it instead, that is when it freezes.  I am certain I am typing the correct Twitter address.  As I say, not sure if that is related ot the problem.
    All suggestions gratefully received
    Paul

  • "No Service" Safari Share

When I click the Share button in Safari I get "No Service". Not sure what this means. I just want to be able to share links via Messages or Mail. I am using Safari 8 and just upgraded to Yosemite.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen. Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then take one of the actions that you're having trouble with. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.

  • Eliminating Safari SHARE bar

I recently added a SHARE BAR to the top of my Safari window. It takes too much space from the browsing window. I cannot find it in Safari extensions and wish to delete it. I have searched Apple support to no avail.

Safari > Preferences > Security > Web content:
Uncheck the box beside "Enable JavaScript"
Close the Preferences window, close the Safari window and quit Safari.
    Launch Safari.
Safari > Preferences > Security > Web content:
Checkmark the box beside "Enable JavaScript".

  • Safari share webpage in email without the URL

    Hi Everyone,
I'm looking for a way to share a webpage (as a pdf) in an email without the url (also) showing up in the mail.
There is the menu to choose in what way you want to share the page (webpage, pdf or link only) but in each instance the url (also) shows up.
Any (hidden) settings not to include the url anyone knows of?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ton

    Hi Japib,
Thank you for your answer but I'm not trying to print/export, I'm trying to share the page via email (File -> Share -> Email this page or cmd-i (I'm using a dutch version so the translation of the menu-items may not be 100% correct))
    Regards,
    Ton
