Safari shuts down suddenly

Safari on IPad unexpectedly shuts down every time I an open an image. Already tried erasing cookies. Any idea how to solve this ?

i really do not know what causes it and how i can remove it actually!
In the help menu there is something about plug-ins but i have really no clue what it it supposed to mean
so can you elaborate what to do ?

Sometimes (very often actually) it just shuts down suddenly due to some problems related to plug-ins and gives error and I relaunch . Do you have any idea why it is happening?

Almost similar problem..after latest updation ofios and itunes,I cant sync with itunes on computer further,everytime computer faces sudden shut down with itunes usage.

IMac shut down suddenly and won't boot back up

This morning my iMac shut down suddenly. All I had open was Google Chrome and I was just on Facebook and that's it. When I tried to boot it back up, it wouldn't load past the startup sound, wherein it would appear to shut back down,or at the very least the screen would go black (my mouse has lights that stay on when the computer is on, and the light kept going on and off while the screen remained black). This was the case for at least a half hour until it suddenly booted itself back up all on its own. I had it on throughout the day, just browsing the internet and watching Youtube. It shut itself down twice during the day, and both times it restarted on its own right away after showing me a grey screen with the Apple logo and a progress bar. Now it just shut itself down again and it won't make it past the progress bar screen - if it even makes it that far, sometimes it shuts off right after it makes the startup sound. It keeps trying to boot up on its own over and over again, but it keeps shutting down right away. All the fixes I've searched for so far require a computer that actually boots up all the way so I don't think I could run any reports if I tried!
I'm running the latest version of Yosemite (10.10.2?).

Not entirely sure what specs are useful to know so I'm just gonna write some of what's on the box it came in:
3.2 GHz Intel i3 processor, 4MBshared level 3 cache
4GB of 1333MHz DDR SDRAM
1TB serial ATA hard drive
ATI Radeon HD 5670 graphics processor with 512 MB of GDDR3 memory
Bought it around fall of 2010. Not sure if it's worth trying to get it fixed (I live nowhere near an Apple store) or if I should just get a new computer, but I would like to know what's wrong, if possible.

Try to boot into the Recover Partition by holding down the Command + R keys on startup. If it still won't boot then the HD has probably crashed. The is likely a AASP in your area, you can locate one by clicking AASP Locator, take it to one to be professional diagnosed. If it's only the HD, assuming you have been backing up, restoring to a new HD is pretty simple.

Safari shuts down when trying to open a link in a second tab or window.

If I try to open a link from a web site in a seperate tab or window safari shuts down then the "Report ot Apple" comes up. Does not matter what web site, even if I try to open another tab or window it shuts down. Have tried to reset permissions twice and checked fonts as suggested in another discussion. I tried the beta version and it was just as bed so deleted it.

I was working on a word document and the computer shut down suddenly. I got a grey screen with a message that your computer shut down because of a proble. It was written in various languages. It asked me to press any key to restart. I tried to restart it but the wheel just kept going on and on. So I shut it down and I tried to restart it. But I still keepgetting the wheel under the apple symbol and nothing else.

Try booting to the Recovery drive, running Disk Utility and Repair disk and Repair Permissions.
1. Reboot and immediately hold down command and R (two keys).
2. When you see the screen shown on this page, select Disk Utility and continue.
3. When DU is running, select the hard drove on the left, First Aid and Repair Disk.
4. After Repair Disk, click Repair Permissions.
Quit DU and restart.

I recently upgraded my Mac from Safari 10.5.8 to 10.6.8 Everything seems to run well except my computer is now blocking plug-ins. When I go to Safari preferences to reset this Safari shuts down. Any help would be welcome.

I recently went through the steps to upgrade my OS from 10.5.8 to 10.6.8 so that I could install Adobe Light Room 4. Everything seems to work well with the exception that now my computer will not allow any plug-ins. I have tried to access Preferences in Safari and every time I do my Safari shuts down. Safari shuts down when logged into CBS Marketwatch

I'm experiencing problems with Safari shutting down while I'm logged into CBS marketwatch. This is the only site this seems to be happening on and it's doing it on my iMac and my Powerbook. Both are running OS X 10.3.8. Anyone have any ideas?

I don't have any problems with that site.
When updating Safari you should be careful that any third party "Internet Enhancing" apps are still compatible. Programs like SpeedDownload, iGetter, PithHelmet, Acid Search, Safari Enhancer all needed updating starting around 10.3.9. Also Norton apps (with the "possible" exception of NAV) became incompatible about 8.6 or 9.0. Definitely not good for OS X. Virex can cause problems as well. So everybody check to see if you have any of these apps, and let us know.
Also, here's my laundry list of things I do if & when Safari slows down.
1. Empty your cache & History settings via the Safari menu
2. Trash your Icons Folder:
HD>Users>Home>YourName>Library>Safari -->Icons
Restart Safari and a new folder will be automatically regenerated.
(This folder saves favicons of all the sites you visit. Needs cleaning periodically -- or you can change that file's preferences to "Read Only"
rather than "Read & Write." This will keep it from growing in size.)
3. You might want to check all three "auto" preferences in Safari. Sometimes those lists gets very long and need pruning. (I turned all autofill boxes off, and have no problems.)
4. Launch Font Book and check all fonts for duplicates. A duplicated font will have a bullet beside the font family and you can resolve duplicates by selecting the font and at the menu bar, go to Edit > Resolve Duplicates.
Do this for each font with a bullet next to it.
If you're still having problems:
5. Shut down your computer . . . unplug the computer, modem, and router, if you have one. Let everything sit for 2-3 minutes. Plug everything back in, start up your modem & router, then restart your computer.
You could also look for the CBS marketwatch cookies
(.marketwatch.com) in your Safari>Preferences>Security>Show Cookies.
Delete the marketwatch ones and see if the problem goes away.
If it does, then those cookies somehow got corrupted.

Safari shuts down when booking flights

Everytime I try to book a flight, Safari shuts down when it's trying to go to the page where it calculates the tax on the flights I have selected. I have no problem with any other pages or sites but I just can't get past this step.
Is this a compatibility problem with aircanada.com and Safari or a problem with my browser specifically?
I recently ran an update on my Adobe software (PhotoShop & In Design). Could this be causing it because I always seem to encounter quirks like this when I run updates? My mail was also incessantly asking for my password each time it checked for mail for two days but that seems to have corrected itself (I did go into Utilities>Passwords and reset them but it still occured for a day and now it's fine)
Any light you can shed on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated - I want to go home for the holidays!

It crashes for me too when selecting the USA version of the site, and trying to book, say, Boston to Toronto.
From the crash it looks like a problem with the WebKit framework Safari uses for the drawing of webpages and would require a patch from the developers to work (or aircanada to change something on their site, I don't claim to know what however...).

My lenovo G505s shuts down suddenly and key board stops working at times

I have bought this laptop 10 days ago, I am facing two problems 1st is, it shuts down(suddenly off not proper shut down) while working without showing any error message, and the problem no 2 is its key board stops working at times, system is working fine but all the buttons of key board are not responding. it will work when I restart the system.
please help what should I do, could it be replaced?

Sorry to hear of your problems. I would suggest that you try a reset of the BIOS just to rule out any hardware conflicts the system may have. Try this........
1. Unplug the charger / adapter.
2. Remove the battery.
3. Press and hold the Power Button for 15 seconds.
4. Re-install the battery, plug in the charger / adapter if needed and power up the system to see if the problem was resolved.
If the problems weren't resolved by doing the reset then I suggest you contact Lenovo Support for warranty service. Both the problems you mentioned could be related to faulty hardware and the service center would be best equipped to check out your new laptop. Is this for a Mac? You posted in the Beta for Windows section, you might want to try the Beta for Mac pages instead and see if anyone there know a good fix. Is this just with Adobe's PDF reader, or with Preview too? A workaround could simply be switching to a different reader, if you simply cannot find what causes the crashes. A clean reinstall might do the trick, if you haven't done so already.
If this is on Windows than I would recommend downloading the PDF plugin from http://www.apple.com/safari/download/plugins.html

Safari shuts down unexpectedly and this seems to be happening more frequently. This morning it shut down while I was on eBay. Happened three times. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I had this.. and noting that not the only one... I used another computer and memory stick and downloaded Camino...... browser recommended for mac and loaded it and now happily surfing the net again... funnily enough lots of my stuff is remembered here, sign in names... I think some bug hit safari... but happy again now...

See if the following help.
Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies And Data and also Clear History
Then close Safari completely and do a reset. To close Safari : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
To do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
Turning off iCloud and multitasking gestures on the iPad might also help
