Safari Sign-in Loop on Yahoo

Hi.  I have an iMac with 10.7.4 and Safari 6.0.
Recently I started experiencing a problem signing into Yahoo.  Although it shows that I am logged in under my user name, every time i try to submit a comment to a Yahoo story, or try to access my portfolios in Yahoo Finance, I am asked to log in again.  When I do, I get into this endless log-in loop.
Anyone have a simlar experience and a solution?
Thanks.
Ed

  • Safari sign in to Yahoo Mail

I seem to have a conflict with Safari 3.0.3 and Yahoo Mail sign in. If I quit Safari and later open it, each time I go to Yahoo Mail I have to re-sign in. This is on my master drive, on a slave drive with all the same applications, once I sign in it is good for two weeks. I have reset Safari, removed the cookies, emptied Cache, even deleted Safari and reinstalled Safari. I have even deleted Yahoo and reinstalled Yahoo, same problem. This problem is only with Safari on the master drive, Firefox is not effected with having to re-sign in each time Firefox is opened. I contacted AT&T Yahoo, they gave me some suggestions which I tried and contacting them after failure, they suggested contacting Apple since the problem is only with Safari.

when I open the Tiger installation DVD disk and open installation options I am unable to access a Safari option for installation. How do I access the option?
If you still have the Safari beta in your Applications folder, all you need to do is run the uninstaller that is included in the Safari beta download. The uninstaller will revert you to Safari 2 and its supporting files.
If you deleted the Safari beta, you can reinstall Safari 2 by following Apple's instructions here. (Scroll down to the section titled, "More custom reinstallation options with Mac OS X 10.4.")

  • Itunes infinite sign in loop problem

I did quite a lot of research into this issue and all of the solutions that worked for others does not work for me at all. The problem is that I cannot sign in to my itunes account on my mac at all. I keep getting the sign in loop where I have to re-enter my password over and over again. At first it didn't bother me since I don't do anything but listen to my music library but it became a pain when I tried to access iTunes Radio or buy a song from the iTunes Store. If I but something on my iPod it works okay but why can't I properly sign in on my Mac? I have the latest OS X and the most recent updates have all been installed.
Here are the "solutions" I have tried with no success:
    Reinstalled iTunes
    Deleted the "SC Info" Folder
Changed the name of my computer
    Deauthorized and Reauthorized my computer
    Changed my password (twice)
Allowed cookies from both Safari and Chrome (my default browser)
Signed out and in after doing all of these tips
I remember downloading iTunes and getting an iPod because it was peerless when it came to music but now I'm starting to see what a gimmick iTunes is and how much Apple is starting to decline is product satisfaction.
Does anyone have any other solutions that I can try? Or should I just give up and find something else.

How are you connected to the internet? Are you behind a particularly secure corporate firewall? Are you on Mac or Windows? Do you have any anti-malware software running on your machine that may be preventing applications other than your browser from connecting to the internet?
Please delete the "MBLStore" and "OOBE" folders found in
    on Mac: <yourusername>/Library/Application Support/Adobe
    on Windows XP: <youruser>\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe
    on Windows 7: <youruser>\AppData\Local\Adobe
and delete the "AdobeMuse" folder found in
    on Mac: <yourusername>/Library/Preferences
    on Windows XP: <youruser>\Local Settings\
    on Windows 7: <youruser>\AppData\Roaming
Then launch Muse. It will go through the first launch experience of asking for UI language, AdobeID, etc.
If there's no change in behavior, please send the PDApp.log file in
    on Mac: <yourusername>/Library/Logs/PDApp.log
    on Windows 7: <youruser>\AppData\Local\Temp
to [email protected] along with a link to this thread. Thanks.

  • Okay since last apple software update my safari will not open youtube, yahoo or google

Okay since last apple software update my safari will not open youtube, yahoo or google, an error message comes up saying safari cannot connect to the server.  Can anyone help me with this please?

    Hi Joshua ..
Check to see if Safari is running in 32 bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. If the box next to:  Open in 32 bit mode  is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safari to test.
If that wasn't the issue, try using OpenDNS.
Use OpenDNS for better speed, more security, prevents the, "can't connect to server" issue, includes anti phishing filters, prevents browser re directs, and it's free.
Open System Preferences / Preferences then select the Network tab. Click the Advanced tab then click the DNS tab.
    Click +
Enter these addresses exactly as you see them here.
    208.67.222.222
    Click +
    208.67.220.220
    Then click OK.
    More about OpenDNS here.

  • I can't access a sign-in page for Yahoo or Hotmail

I have tried all the trouble shooting tips, but nothing seems to work.  I am able to use Google and "Gmail" but when I request to sign in to either Yahoo or Hotmail, the system just freezes up.  I am able to pull up News and other Yahoo sites, but it simply won't go to either "mail" or to a "sign-in" page.
I have another laptop (non Apple) working off of the same WiFi/Ethernet connection and it is accessing the sites and mail with out any problem.
This is a new system for me, and I just hooked it up last week, but have not been able to access my Yahoo Mail, or Hotmail. I reloaded Snow Leopard (because I had to change some passwords) then loaded the OS Lion program (hoped that would make a difference...it didn't)
One of the tips is to contact the owner of the website to make sure the address is correct...Yahoo does not provide any assistance in that regard.
Thanks for any advise you can provide.

Thanks for the suggestion. It made sense to me (my salesman mentioned that he used FireFox as his browser) So I went ahead and down-loaded it.   Unfortunately the problem is also on Firefox.  I can pull up the web pages that I am looking for, but I can not pull up the "sign-on" pages.
It is beginning to sound like a security type issue to me.  The "Connection Time Out" page gives 3 choices:
    * This site coule be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
***I don't think this is the issue, because my laptop is pulling up the pages just fine****
    * If you are unable to load any pages, check your computers network connection.
***I am able to pull up some pages, and my laptop works off of the same network***
    * If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
***This sounds like the most likely issue, but I do not know how to check or adjust the
                                 firewall/ proxy.
I do not know if the issue has anything to do with my living in another country.  I purchased my IMac during my last visit to the U.S. and brought it back to Panama with me. Does the IMac need special instructions for international network providers?
    Thanks for you assistance.

  • Safari keeps freezing when using yahoo mail.

Safari keeps freezing while using Yahoo mail. Have to close out or reset safari to regain access. Anyone else ever have this problem?

Why not use Mac Mail instead of Yahoo's web based mail and having to access it via Safari and deal with incompatibility issues?
    Open Mac Mail.
From the menu bar top of your screen click Mail / Preferences then select the Accounts tab then the Account Information tab.
Click +  (plus) under  the Accounts  panel on the left.
Type in your name, Yahoo email address and Yahoo password then click Create.
    It's that easy.
To view incoming mail or start a new mail message just click the Mail icon in your Dock. If the Mail icon isn't in the Dock, go to your Applications folder, launch Mail. Then click and hold the Mail icon in the Dock, click Option / Keep In Dock.

I have reset my email password &amp;now when I sign on I receive "yahoo server is not available" message.

Welcome to the Apple Community Michael.
Firstly, you need to change your details with Apple,  Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account. You may have already done this.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

  • Cursor does not click the sign-out button in yahoo, rediff etc pages ?

cursor does not click the sign-out button in yahoo, rediff etc pages. E.G once I open my yahoo page, the cursor pointer will not change it's appearance to the finger type when I try to click the sign-out or inbox button. This does not happen with chrome or explorer.

That problem can be caused by the Yahoo! Toolbar or the Babylon extension that extents too much downwards and covers the top part of the browser window and thus makes links and buttons in that part of the screen not clickable.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • HELP: Safari cannot connect to Google & Yahoo only

not sure what i did recently but start from two days ago i cannot access only google and yahoo and all related sites. the rest of the sites are fine.
I tried installing firefox and it is experiencing the same problem. However if I access using my ipad safari then everything is fine. using openDNS also does not fix the problem.
    help please?

    Hi,
For Safari... from your Safari menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Security tab.
    Click: Show Cookies
Delete all Yahoo and Google "only google and yahoo and all related sites" Cookies.
And from your Safari menu bar click Safari / Empty Cache...
Relaunch Safari. Try accessing those sites.
if I access using my ipad safari then everything is fine
That rules out your internet connection.
If that didn't help, Quit Safari. Open the Keychain Access application (Applications / Utilities) Select Passwords on the left.
Delete the Yahoo and Google keychains.
Relaunch Safari. Navigate to either Yahoo or Google. Login with your user name and password. Click Yes when prompted.
If you still have problems accessing those sites, delete the "Safari Forms Autofill" keychain. Relaunch Safari and try again.

  • Firefox will not let me sign out of my Yahoo email account. What could be causing this?

For several weeks, I have not been able to sign out of my Yahoo account. I checked for updates and I'm up to date. I'm using Windows XP.

    - Try contacting iTunes for the password problem:
Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us
    - For the other problem you can try a reset. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - The next standard thing to do is to download/install a new app but you cant 'do that.
    - Instead, try restoring from backup.

  • From the bookmark toolbar cant sign out with the Yahoo "sign out" icon.

From the bookmark toolbar I can't sign out using the Yahoo "sign out" icon anymore. Deleting cache & cookies didn't help. I always use my own PC. Any help is appreciated. Thanx.

If you have bookmarked a specific link to log out and that link is no longer working the you need to delete this link. There is no guarantee that such a specific link keeps working and in such a case you need to abandon it and see if you can come up with a new link, but best is always to use a button or link on the website to log out.
