Safari SSl Issue with Online Grading Site

I manage a department that offers grading of exams online. Users supply their answers and have the server grade the submissions.
We randomly have an issue where Safari users will have their exams graded incorrectly. Basically failing the student even though they have supplied the correct answers.
When we have them resubmit the same answers in IE for Mac the server correctly grades the exam.
This issue is not consistent. Some exams grade correctly in Safari and some do not.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Hmmmm....

Nothing in Apple’s ridiculously minimal release notes suggested that this feature existed. But this time, the company’s intransigence in telling you what it has changed in the software you use may have further consequences. How Safari could “know” about these phishing and malware sites raises all kinds of interesting questions. Now we can tell you with reasonable confidence how it all works—but because Apple has not done the same thing, we cannot say with certainty that it is completely private, or that Safari is not sending information about the pages you visit to a third party.

  • Issues with online banking

I am having issues with online banking with PNC and Safari 6.  Is anyone else having this problem?

Yes.  I connected yesterday with no problem.  The problem I'm having is my checking not displaying the detail, it just says "Loading" but nothing happens.  I called PNC support, and they said that some customers were having this issue using Safari 6, but they had not found a solution.  I asked why it worked fine yesterday and all previous days, and he did not have an answer.  I have a windows PC also, and it works on it using Firefox.

  • HP Officejet 4500 Wireless Printing Issues with Online Maps & Financial Institutions

I have an HP Officejet 4500 Wireless printer that I have wireless connection to my HP G72 Laptop running Windows 7 (64 bit) with Internet Explorer 9.  I am having trouble printing online maps from either Bing Maps or Google Maps.  It seems the print jobs get stuck in the print que and always show an indefinite status of “Printing” in the que but never get printed.
I’ve tested my other applications including Office 2010 and all other jobs seem to print just fine.  I do use the “Print” button located in each of the online Map sites (Bing, Google).  This is when the jobs get stuck.
I do also have the HP Bing Bar installed with Smart Print.  The Smart Print feature seems to work with the online maps just fine (seems I’ll just use it instead).
Another separate printing issue is that I can never get any of my online financial transactions to print from any of my online financial institutions with either the Internet 9 print features or the HP Bing Smart Print feature.  I can never get those to print (have to wait for the PDF statements to be available).
Any ideas as to why I can print the maps or online financial transaction?  I get no error messages either.

  • Issue with frames-based sites in Sf-3(L); Looking for confirmation

Is anyone else having issues with Safari 3 (Leopard) and frames-based sites? Specifically, frame sizes not being obeyed?
For example, phpMyAdmin's left Navi frame is, in most themes, supposed to be about 180px wide; if need be, the frame is coded to show scrollbars (again, in all the themes I've used so far anyway).
However, Safari 3.0.4 on Leopard apparently ignores this and resizes the left Navi frame to an unusably narrow width (for reasons unknown - it's not the the right frame is especially full or anything), with no scroll bars either! However, the very same phpMyAdmin site works fine in Firefox 2, where frame widths show up exactly as they are supposed to.
Is anyone else having or can duplicate this issue?

I've been having this problem for months, Safari 3 beta and now Safari 3 on Tiger as well as Leopard.

  • IE Scolling/Lag issues with IWeb Published Site

Has anyone had any issues with scrolling/lag with Internet Explorer on an iWeb published site? I have a site that runs great on Firefox and safari but terrible on Internet Explorer. I'm thinking it may be the template/design i used?
Anyone every seen this? Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    JC

I've only ever used the Modern Frame, so I can't say if there would be a performance issue using a different template. I have about three pictures on each page.
I noticed on your site that you're using the "reflection" effect on some of your pictures. Just for the purpose of testing, perhaps you could try turning off that effect and then re-uploading your site to see if that is causing some of the problem? I believe the reflection is rendered using javascript code, which may be causing the poor performance in IE. If that does turn out to be the problem, you can decide whether it's worth it to keep the effect or not.
By the way, I don't get that same error message in IE when I open your Videos page. Maybe it's caused by a security setting in your IE being set at a more restrictive level?

  • Issue with online ordering

Well this is going to be a bit long given my issue.
I've got a family member who is willing to pay full retail to upgrade their phone and we were going to place the order online and pick it up at the store since the store is listed as having in-store pickup.
For whatever reason the website doesn't allow for different billing and shipping addresses.  Which I find really strange when every other online shopping site I've dealt with allows one to have a billing address and a shipping address if they are different.  Add to that I was going to make use of in-store pickup for the website purchase but that address is also different then either my shipping or billing one and since I was told by a sales rep that my Verizon and credit card billing addresses must match I'm unable to order anything from the website.  Mind you I fall to see the point in needing my shipping address anyways since I had selected in-store pickup which the website was able to find without any trouble outside of the fact I had to change the zip code to match the store.
I've talked to a sales rep and not totally sure why but wasn't able to help, did give me the 800 number for customer service but it was down for some reason, believe it was maintenance related. Sent my issue to the Twitter feed for tech support but they are gone for the day.

    Just an update.
After talking with VZW Tech support via twitter I was able to order my phone and do in-store pickup.  It seems after I brought the original issue to their attention they tweaked the way the ordering site works.  What they did is add a second zip code box on the credit card information page which allows one to use different zip codes at least for in-store pickup though I would think it would work if one has a P.O. Box and street address with different zip codes as well.

  • Does Safari have issues with Java?

When I log into my IG Index financial spread betting account safari usually quits unexpectedly immediately after the dealing screen has loaded. This is causing me huge frustration. The site relys a lot on Java. I believe there were issue with Java in Mac OS 10.3.9 that may still exist on 10.4.X
    Any ideas?

Do you have the latest versions of Java installed?
Have you enabled Java in Safari's preferences?

  • I'm having a big issue with scripts and sites I need.

I am an Etsy shop owner and always been able to access my shop just fine all the sudden about three weeks ago I cannot log in to my shop on ff. I can view the Etsy site but when I try to log in it just loads and loads and will not let me. I know it is the script bc I added a script turn off add on and I could log on but Etsy will not let you have it turned off to edit items if your shop so I had to download chrome just to go to my shop which is annoying, I do not like chrome.
Other than that a few more sites like creative market and a few blogs will not load anymore for me. I have already re-set and that did not work. Also I get a lot of script not responding plugin popups that freeze and crash. This is really annoying. Does anyone know a fix? Thanks..

You can try basic steps like these in case of issues with web pages:
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and only cookies from websites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
    *Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

  • IWeb not opening after some issues with an existing site...

    Hi there~
I’m a relatively new Mac user and a former PC/Dreamweaver user. I’m having a bit of an issue with iWeb. I’ll do my best to keep what happened relatively brief:
    1. I had created and published a site a couple of months ago, but the page that contained photo albums seemed to have become corrupted. Every time I tried to open that page, iWeb would crash.
    2. I recreated that page but then was not able to delete the corrupted version. So I recreated the whole site.
    3. I published the new site, and everything seemed to be working well in the live version.
    4. To avoid confusion in the future, I wanted to get rid of the old site. When I deleted that site, I saw that it said something about deleting it from the Web as well. I realized that this may cause problems because most of the pages would have the same names, but I was hopeful that since the new site had all of the pages I could just republish.
    5. The new site did indeed get messed up after I deleted the old site. So I set the new site to republish, and then I got an error message.
    6. I figured just for safety’s sake I would undo the deletion of the old site and just leave it for a while in the hopes that the new site would then work again.
    7. After I did this, the old files reappeared, but then iWeb froze. (I think... My memory is a little fuzzy here...)
    8. I closed and reopened iWeb, but all that appeared was that little right-hand box that lets you see the properties of certain things (Page, Photos, Text, etc). I also restarted the computer, and now when I open iWeb, that little box is still all that I’m getting.
I grabbed what I could from the live version and my history files so that I can recreate the site from scratch if I need to, so I’m not terribly worried about getting my files back. I did have another site created in iWeb that seemed to be fine, it would be nice to not have to start over with that one, but obviously I can if needed. Maybe those files can be found elsewhere on my computer?
So will I be able to get iWeb back? Do I need to reinstall it? If so, how do I do that? (Maybe that’s a question for another forum. iLife was installed on the Mac when we got it, I looked briefly for the files on the Applications CD but got a little scared off when I saw something about bundled applications...)
Thanks so much for any help. I called tech support and was directed here, this is new for me, so I hope I’m going about this in the right way. I’ll spend some time looking around to see if anyone has addressed this elsewhere, I just wanted to get things down while it was all relatively fresh in my head.
    Thank you!
    Jen

  • Did this resolve my Safari 5 issue with not loading pages as fast?

I've been having this problem every since I got my laptop a month ago... I have a wireless router that's connected to a PC, and I use wireless on my laptop. My old laptop was a PC, and the internet connection was just fine on it. However, I'm having issues with my MacBook Pro. When I first turned on my laptop after taking it out of the box, Airport detected my wireless router and connected me to the internet. Obviously, I used Safari 5 as my browser and although it works... it doesn't load the pages as fast as it should. It even stops loading at times. Usually, I quit Safari and reopen Safari and it works and if it doesn't, I click on the reload button or just keep re-opening Safari until it does work... buttt I am tired of doing that now. So after a lot of attempts by trial and error, I think I found the solution and was wondering if anyone could confirm this with me. I went to my router's IP address and I looked at the settings. I looked at the router's DNS settings and I copied and pasted that router setting into the DNS settings on my laptop for the wireless network. Now, my internet seems to be working... but then again it has only been 5 minutes. So my question is... the router's DNS has to match the wireless network's DNS address?
Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question... I'm not an expert when it comes to internet, LAN, proxies, and etc. settings. Thank you!

Further investigation has revealed that the following error message is being generated within Safari during the first time the that the page is loading,
"Refused to load from document base URL. URL found within request."
The <base> directive in the HTML, in this instance, is referring to a different URL than the one that the page is running from. The page with the problem is running on a remote server and back referencing to the home server for the <base> reference. This fails when the page first loads but seems to be accepted if a page-reload is done. It also works on all other browsers that have been tested.
Is this related to a security setting in the browser?

  • Slideshow issues with my uploaded site

I have recently built a website in muse and exported to html. I uploaded my website to my web host everything works...except all my slideshows are now up in my banner space in multiple web browsers such as: chrome, mozilla, safari and internet explorer. I did not have this issue when previewing my site, only after going live. How can I fix this?

I looked in Chrome, Safari and Firefox and it looks fine to me? Have you got it sorted out?

  • Issues with Facebook (Mobile Site)

I'm having issues with the Facebook App. I have the Blackberry 3G (9330) thru Sprint and I updated my Blackberry Software from 5.0 to 6.0. Since then, the Facebook (Mobile site) will allow me to type of up to around 20 characters when submitting my status or sending an email. Once it I type around 20 characters, the screen freezes and then it boots me out of the FB (Mobile site) and goes to the Bookmark page. I reinstalled that App thinking it may have not installed properly and may have affected the Facebook Mobile site but I'm still having the same problem. However, when I use the Facebook App, I'm able to update my status and send email using more than the 20 characters that's allowed in the Facebook (Mobile site). Is there something I can do to have this corrected? I like the mobile site better because I can see my friend's birthdays on the main page and it offers more options than the FB App.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

After playing around with the settings, I found that if you have the "Assistive Input by Keyboard" under Options/Typing set to Predictive, it will interfere with any data that is keyed into the Facebook browser and cause it to freeze. I changed the setting to direct instead of Predictive and this resolved the issue. Thanks for your help!

  • Major DNS issue with my Partner Site PLEASE HELP...

As a a business catalyst partner my partner site is completely down and all my corporate emails have been erased.  I built a new partner site using a business catalyst template and when I uploaded the new site to my partner site there were major conflicts with the default site-wide template and the files that I am unable to erase via FTP on the partner portal so the new template never fully worked.
So I moved on to Plan B - which was to open a new site as a "customer" under my own business catalyst account.  Uploaded the files and the site worked, now when I tried to take my partner account domain name and transfer it to my newly created customer account I ran into a second even larger issue.  It tells me the domain name already exists (as my partner domain) - please delete all files and try again (see screen shot for details.).
It will not allow me to erase the partner account under my partner portal as the "Delete Site" feature is not there for my partner portal (see screenshots for example).
Please help me straighten out this mess as my business site is completely down and all my corporate emails have been completely erased.

I actually had the exact same problem. If you are a premium partner and rebranded unfotunately the domain name can't be moved because your customer sites are tied to that domain name.
So the only option is to create a new domain for your site. It sucks I know, but I can see why it has to be that way.
If you have not rebranded, then contacting support might be able to change that for you.
