Safari stops responding arter using reading list.

I had a problem with my computer today. My iMac 2012 haven't been launching. After desctop shows of earlier everything have been shuting down and I could see the screen like Kernel Panic, but with the message "there was a problem...press a key or wait", smt like this. then everything repeats and it was a completed circle. I fixed it by restore the rights of access in Recovery HD (arter screen is on, press Option, choose Recovery HD, Launch Disc Utility, etc.).
I know that in every strange situation keep calm and restore the rights of access.
But now my problem is smaller that the previous one. Wnen I try to open any page from Reading List, Safari stops responding to any of my actions and the only way to fix it is shut Safari down from System Monitoring or Dock.
How can I fix it?
P.S. Apple, my first problem is a very big stone to your garden. I know what to do in this kind of problems, but the others don't. I live in Russia (so sorry about my bad English) and I don't have Apple Stores where I can get professional support.
I wish you fixed it in new Mavericks update.

I don't know what it was, but now evertything is OK, I can again use the Reading List without any problems.
Still waiting for the Mavericks update.

  • Internet Explorer stops responding while using CodedUI test builder to record a test

    Hi,
    Here is my problem description:
Internet explorer (9, 10, 11) stops responding while using CodedUI Test Builder to record a test scenario in IE. I am not able to input any values or click any buttons or perform any action on IE while recording a test on a remote desktop (visual studio
and IE are both on remote machine). Also tried by directly accessing the machine but no luck. The test builder says 'could not record the last action...'
A hand-coded script plays back fine without any problem.
    System Details:
    OS: Window 7 Professional with SP1 64-bit
Browser: IE 11 (tried with IE 9/10 also with no luck)
    Visual Studio 2013 Ultimate Edition
I have tried the following from my past similar experiences.
    1. Checked that I am recording on 32 bit IE
    2. Tried with IE 9/10/11
    3. Reset IE to factory settings
I will appreciate if someone can share some thoughts on the likely problem(s) and any recommended solution.
    Regards,
    Pankaj

    Hi Pankaj,
    >>'could not record the last action...'.
Actually it means that the coded UI test builder doesn't record the actions, I met this issue before when my machine is so busy, so I will get this issue if I record the steps so quickly.
I'm not very sure that how you connect to your remote desktop and record the actions, but like the above actions, we have to make sure that the steps were recorded in the Recorded Action window like A.
If not, please delete the steps from the no-recorded steps and re-record them again, maybe you could record the steps slowly.
I doubt that the remote connection impacts the recorded actions performance.
    Best Regards,
    Jack

  • Why is it necessary to reboot my Ipad2 whenever Safari stops responding?, Why is it necessary to reboot my Ipad2 whenever Safari stops responding?

Every few days I need to rebbot my Ipad2 when Safari stops responding. The screen turns gray and it doesn't do anything. It only happens with Safari.

Tap Settings / Safari. Clear the History, Cookies, and Cache.
Restart your iPad. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPad. To turn iPad back on, press and hold the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears.

  • Safari stops responding when I try to bookmark (and other slow problems!)

Two weeks ago my logicboard died, so I sent my ibook out to Apple for it to be fixed. Ever since I got it back this past Tuesday, my Safari has been extremely slow, but nothing else is wrong with my computer. Here are the problems:
    - The biggest issue is that Safari stops responding when I try to make a bookmark. The popup appears to select the bookmark's destination and to enter the name, but when you hit ok, the rainbow wheel comes up and it stops responding, so I have to reset Safari, and now I can't make new bookmarks at all.
    - It lags when it tries to open new windows, especially new tabs.
    - If a new page loads that scrolls at all, and then I try to scroll down, the wheel appears for several seconds until it can load the rest of the page. It's as though it gets stuck before it can scroll.
    - Sometimes when typing, it will also start to lag behind my typing speed, or if I try to click on a new field, it will not immediately allow me to type on occasion.
All these things have never happened before I sent it out. I have reset my cache, and I have tried entering the open DNS addresses in my networks, which has improved loading speed, but hasn't fixed any of these problems. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong and how I can fix anything?

    Try verifying the hard disk.
Boot from your restore disk while holding down the C key until you see the Apple logo, then let go of the C key. You'll see an Installation window, select English. From the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Disk Utility. Select MacintoshHD 10.x.x in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab, then click Verify. If DU reports errors, click Repair. If Disk Utility cannot repair the disk you have several options. One is DiskWarrior or
TechToolPro If Disk Utility can repair any errors, go back to the Menu Bar, click Utilities/Startup Disk. In the Startup Disk window select MacintoshHD 10.x.x and click Restart.
If you don't have a restore disk, try booting into Safe Mode

  • Safari stops responding and gets stuck loading a page

I have the latest version of Safari and it tends to stop responding, won't load a page and has to be forced quit. This only happened when I updated Safari. Can I go back to version2? Firefox works fine. From reading many blogs it seems to be a big problem. Could this knock Safari off the top spot for Mac users.

The following usually works on both Tiger and Leopard:
(First, if yours is an Intel Mac, check that Safari is not running in Rosetta, which is enough to slow it to a crawl.)
Adding DNS codes to your Network Settings, should gives good results in terms of speed-up:
Open System Preferences/Network. Double click on your connection type, or select it in the drop-down menu. Click on TCP/IP and in the box marked 'DNS Servers' enter the following two numbers:
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
(An explanation of why that is both safe and a good idea can be read here: http://www.labnol.org/internet/tools/opendsn-what-is-opendns-why-required-2/2587 / )
Click on Apply Now and close the window.
    Restart Safari, and repair permissions.
If that didn't do it, then try this as well:
Empty Safari's cache (from the Safari menu), then close Safari.
Go to Home/Library/Safari and delete the following files:
    form values
    download.plist
Then go to Home/Library/Preferences and delete
    com.apple.Safari.plist
    Repair permissions (in Disk Utility).
Start up Safari again, and things should have improved.

  • Safari Stops Responding

I have had my MacBook for about a month and I love it. But I have run into problem with Safari where it will just stop responding. For example, if I type in a web site address into the address bar and press enter, it does nothing and the address switches back what was originally there. If I click on a bookmark, any bookmark, it will not open the page, but just stays on the same page. It's not timing out or anything, it just does nothing.
I've tried resetting Safari, deleting the plist file and restarting it and even uninstalling and reinstalling it, but still run into this problem at least a couple times a day.

    HI,
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Empty Cache. When you are done with that...
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset.
Go here for trouble shooting 3rd party plugins or input managers which might be causing the problem. Safari: Add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues
Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/ Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Go to ~/Library/Safari and move the Bookmarks.plist file to the Trash.
Since you are running Snow Leopard, make sure Safari is opening in 32-bit mode, not 64. Right or control click the Safari icon in the Applications folder, then click: Get Info In the Get Info window click the black disclosure triangle next to General so it faces down. Select 32 bit mode. Also, (in that same window) *make sure Safari is NOT running in Rosetta.*

Web pages now include a small icon or 'favicon' which is visible in the address bar and next to bookmarks. These icons take up disk space and slow Safari down. It is possible to erase the icons from your computer and start fresh. *To delete Safari's icon cache using the Finder, open your user folder, navigate to ~/Library/Safari/ and move this file "webpageIcons.db to the Trash.*
    Relaunch Safari.

  • Safari stops responding almost always

    Please help!
Everytime I use Safari to go to www.orbitzgames.com, it stops responding whenever I try to close the window. This happens all the time! On other occasions, Safari just gets stuck for long periods of time and eventually i have to force quit it. I tried using virus scan but that came out fine. I had at one point downloaded Limewire for songs and eventually deleted the entire software. What could be the problem?
    Thank you

    Hello rn:
    Welcome to Apple discussions.
For future reference, there is a separate Safari forum.
    That site displays properly here.
Try clearing the cache and trashing the preference file (com.apple.safari.plist) and then restarting.

  • Using Reading List service with Twitter rather than Read It Later?

Hello, when using twitter, there is the option to 'save' links to services such as 'Read It Later/Instapaper'. However, I don't see how to do the same but using Apple's own Reading List service. Seeing the Twitter is integrated into iOS I am a little surprised by this. Am I missing something here?
    Thxs,

    Hi,
Is function mike_get_dir_list in your app parsing schema?
If not, you should grant execute privilege to function on your app parsing schema and
    1. create synonym to app parsing schema
    or
    2. use schema qualifier in query

  • How to use reading list

After saving to reading list, where do i find the list in the iphone?

Just posted the same question for iPad. Hope I get more responses than u.

  • After software update today, the Reading List on my Safari cannot be opened!

    Hello guys,
After the software update I had earlier on in the day, I can't seem to open up the Reading List on Safari. Do you guys have the same problem too?
    Regards,
    Bo Wei

    Hi...
If you have iCloud enabled and you are syncing Safari Bookmarks that also syncs the Reading List with other devices.
    Quit Safari.
    Open System Preferences > iCloud
Deselect the box next to Bookmarks then reselect it.
Relaunch Safari. Try opening the Reading List.
If you do not use iCloud. try deleting the cache associated with Safari.
Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db. Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
For Lion v10.7x:  To find the Home folder in OS X Lion, open the Finder, hold the Option key, and choose Go > Library
Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit then relaunch Safari. Try the Reading List

  • Safari Constantly Stops Responding

This usually happens when I'm trying to fill in a text box on a site, either with keychain or manually. Safari stops responding, but there's no beachball or any indication that it's frozen. You can't do anything with the program, and maybe 10 minutes later the program starts responding to the commands you issue it. Has anyone else had this issue?

    mleung,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions !
Do these & report back, OK ?
    1. Empty your cache & History settings via the Safari menu
    2. Trash your Icons Folder:
    HD>Users>Home>YourName>Library>Safari -->Icons
Restart Safari and a new folder will be automatically regenerated.
(This folder saves favicons of all the sites you visit. Needs cleaning periodically -- or you can change that file's preferences to "Read Only"
rather than "Read & Write." This will keep it from growing in size.)
    3. Launch Font Book and check all fonts for duplicates. A duplicated font will have a bullet beside the font family and you can resolve duplicates by selecting the font and at the menu bar, go to Edit > Resolve Duplicates.
Do this for each font with a bullet next to it.
    If you're still having problems:
    4. Shut down your computer . . . unplug the computer, modem, and router, if you have one. Let everything sit for 2-3 minutes. Plug everything back in, start up your modem & router, then restart your computer.
    5. Do you have internet apps SpeedDownload, iGetter, PithHelmet, Acid Search, Safari Enhancer ? Or Norton or Virex? Sometimes non-apple internet apps need updating or uninstalling. If you do, let us know which ones and which version, please.
    Hope this helps

  • Safari wants to make changes, stops responding

Every time I start Safari I see "Safari wants to make changes. Type your password to allow this" Then I type it and Safari stops responding. I hit cancel and it works but pops up every time I start safari. I have tried resetting safari in the developer menu but that did not work. What can I try to get this to stop doing this from popping up every time I run Safari?

I rebooted and it stopped. Stupid, just shoudld have tried tht first.

  • Safari 5.1.4 reading list and bookmark tabs are all messed up

I opened safari and all of my tabs/reading list were thrown way outta wack.  The reading list is "empty" but has hundreds of greyed out stuff behing the glasses and explanation.  Everytime i add something to the list it adds the item multiple times, 1 at first then 2 for the next item ad infinitum.  My once polished tabs bar has been riddled with old stuff that I never put there.  What the heck happened?!

After updating to Safari 5.1.4 my reading list is very messed up - instead of saving one webpage link in the reading list, it mutiplies the same webpage to fill up my entire viewable screen - i counted at least 40 duplicated webpages for one 'add page' readling list.
It also duplicated every previous webpage link I had in the my reading list 40 times each - and when i scroll to the very bottom of the reading list, i can't find my old 'reading list pages, even when i click the view "all" reading list webpages.  This *****, as I had about 10 reading list webpages to actually read - now i lost 6 because space.
