Safari Tab size is too wide

I experienced Safari's Tab size is too wide, that it annoys me (and i believe other users too).
The behaviour as follow:
- When you first time open the browser, it is no tab and it looks normal.
- Then, when you open another tab, there are two tabs with size half of the windows size.... it is soo wide..
- Then, when you open another tab, the size of those three tabs split the wide of the windows... it is still too wide...
- and so on.
Please have a correction patch to this. Thanks.
Safari version used is Version 6.0.

  • Web site appearing too wide in Safari

When I open certain web pages using Safari the page is too wide with large empty spaces in the frames and in order for me to read it I have to keep scrolling to the right.
If I open the same page with Internet Explorer I can read everything in one single page without having to scroll.
Can anyone tell me how to solve this issue?

Can't do it because this site requires log in corporate info.
However from what I've noticed this is what happens:
When the page loads initially, it looks ok for about half of a second. Everything is close enough. Then suddenly the page expands to the right becoming impossible to fit in the screen and forcing me to scroll to the right in order to read it.

  • Safari Font Size Too BIG

My daughter was on my computer and somehow changed the font size in safari and it is too big.  I've tried the command/shift/- and   and that is not changing the appearance (font is still too big).  Any other suggestions?  All webpages are affected.

Figured it out (thanks prior poster)
Go to Safari Preferences > Advanced.
Then adjust the size of type to display as you like it.
This one is set to 10, but you can up to 24 if you need to.
    Hope this helps.

  • The bookmark drop down tab is too wide on version 6. It worked just fine on version 3.6. Thanks

The bookmark drop down tab is too wide on version 6. It worked just fine on version 3.6. I know you can shorten the individual urls, but why should I have to do this? I am sticking with 3.6 until this problem is resolved.

That can be caused by having some bookmarks with a long title.<br />
The width of a column in the Bookmarks menu list is in current Firefox versions automatically adjusted to fit the bookmark with the longest name.<br />
You can check the names of the bookmarks and make the longer ones shorter.<br />

  • Safari Tabs to Wide

Mr: Apple IT please with all this complain so far is time to Fix this problem with the tabs is being to wide
look over several bad review and complain so please send the Fixing Update for this problem thansk!

You could try installing Glims to restore the more user-friendly smaller tabs:
    http://www.machangout.com/
It also offers other Safari enhancements. I've used it without problems for a quite a while but have recently noticed that when using Safari in Mountain Lion I get some beachballing. Maybe you won't have the same problem - worth a try and there is an uninstaller available on their website if it doesn't work perfectly.

  • Safari tab length

    Hi all.
Is there anyway to reduce the size of tabs in Safari. I use a 27" iMac and the tabs run literally the whole length of the screen which is pretty annoying. I'm aware of the new tab and switching tabs keyboard shortcuts but i'm not really a fan. Is there anyone who can help revert them back to the old Safari tab style?
    Thanks!

Glims offers that feature >  machangout.com
It's free. Once it's installed you can access the settings in Safari > Preferences > Extensions
Once it's installed, go to Extensions then select the Glims tab.
Select Tabs MIsc on the left then select:   Disable Safari wide tab labels
I'm running Glims on Mountain Lion and Mavericks without any issues.

  • Mavericks Safari tab width

Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Mavericks directly:
    Safari
    1) the address/search bar is too wide and uncomfortable for quick browsing. If you have a big screen you have to move the mouse far away to reach it. Is it possible to have back the two tabs (search and address) like before? Otherwise I have to use Firefox.
    2) The new panel opening button on the far right is not convenient at all, again too far to reach if you have a big screen.
    3) Is it necessary to have all screens popping up? Can we have a simpler and quicker interface?
    Thanks

Well, I solved my own problem.
I used the migration assistant to transfer my entire profile (including system settings) from my old iMac with Mountain Lion to my new iMac with Mavericks.
Even though the migration assistant warned me that Glims is not compatible with Mavericks, I found that the 'narrow' tabs are back in Safari 7.0.1, just the same as on my old Mountain Lion installation with the earlier version of Safari.
I don't know why that worked, but I suppose I don't need to - I'm happy with the result.

  • Iphone4 Safari font size

I searched the iPhone settings and the discussions forum but can't find a way to increase the font size on the iphone4 in Safari. I want to read these discussions on the iPhone but the font is too small, even in landscape mode and double-clicking to column-zoom in.
Is there a way? If not, can anyone recommend a 3rd party browser tha allows this?
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks, julieda...
....that is what I have been doing but it gets Old. If the column is too wide, I have to not only finger-spread the text, but move left and right to read the entire column of text. I was hoping to be able to enlarge the text and have it to where I just vertical-scroll.
But I am a nice guy, so here's a star.

  • How To reset Safari window size back to original factory setting?

How To reset Safari window size back to original factory setting?
I resize my pages often but I don't want to always keep them at random sizes. I want to know the proper method to reset the webpage size back to it default size. Right now it's too wide, and I click the green plus button in the upper left corner and it goes down to a very small size, I click the green plus again and it returns to the Too Wide size. I just can't seem to get it to go back to the default size.
    Thanks for your help!

You could try this.   Set the safatri page to your convenience by dragging the bottom right hand corner of the page.   Quit safari, then immediately relaunch.   It should start up the same size as it was before you quit.  Then ...
Go to Safari > preferences and set the page as your home page.

  • Navigation bar too wide for template graphic after creating new page

I want to stick within the templates, but I have a lot of pages and don't want them all in the nav bar. When I flagged a page to keep it out of the NAV bar, the NAV bar get messed up - not properly displaying at the edge of the template, like it made room for the hidden page's link then re-adjusted itself too wide for the background graphic. I've got the problem in the elegant template when displayed in IE on Windows (1024X768). Safari on my mac looks OK. Are there any other setting changes I can make to be better compatible?
    Thanks
    Anne

It appears to have been a cache issue or some such. I no longer see the problem

  • PDF to TIFF error: Image is too wide to output Acrobat X Pro

I have been using Adobe Acrobat X Pro to convert PDFs to TIFFs.    All of the sudden this week I am getting an error saying the Image is too wide to convert.  These are files I previously converted without a problem.  I am specifying resolution of 360 pixels in the TIFF settings (which is what I have always used).  I installed the latest maintenance (10.1.12) but still get the error.  The files are 17" wide x 11" high. Any idea why I am getting this error all of the sudden and how to fix it?  I send the files to a colleague on the same Acrobat Pro X release and they do not get the errors.  Reboot resolves for 1 file, then the error comes back.

The issue should be the resolution.  I've had this same issue before so I'll give you a walk through of what I did.  You will need to reprint your current PDF to a new PDF with a new resolution.  Upon doing that, the new PDF will need to match whatever resolution is being required by whoever is needing this TIFF File, if there is not a requirement just pick one (such as 300 DPI).
    1) In your existing document select Print (Ctrl+P)
    2) Change your current printer to "Print to PDF/Adobe PDF/ ETC..." (whatever it is called)
    3) Select Properties and a dialog box called "Adobe PDF Document Properities" should pop up.
    4) Select the tab labeled Paper/Quality
    5) Select "Advanced..."
    6) There is an option for graphic that should have a print quality labeled " XXXX DPI" (could be anywhere from 72, 300, 600, 1200, 2400, 3600, 4800), select what you want to use, click OK back out to the basic print screen, and print your new PDF and label it whatever you want your TIFF's to be called. (I use 300 as that is what a city I submit to requires for plans).
    7) Open your new PDF, and on your menu bar at the top select EDIT (right next to file) then select "Preferences" at the bottom on the drop-down menu. (or on your keyboard use "Ctrl+K" for a faster way to get to preferences)
    8) From there select Convert from PDF then select TIFF from the list of options from the box in the middle> then select "Edit Settings..." under the box on the far right that has the information about how it saves TIFF Files currently.
    9) There should be a "Save As TIFF Settings" Dialog box that opens up and at the bottom there is a place under "Conversion" that says resolution.
    10) Change the resolution to whatever your new PDF was saved and and that should fix your problem!
I know some of this was basic stuff but I see this question come up in different places and no one has really mapped it out like above. Hope this helps!

  • HT3142 Display size is too large on yahoo mail

My display size is too large on yahoo mail page only (page I need and use most). How do I correct it, please?
Changing the display selections from system preferences is not working.

There may be a control within the application you are running Yahoo.
Which browser are you using online to access Yahoo?
In the View menu bar of the open application, there may be a choice
to change the size of the display content in the window itself, check.
Some of these use a keyboard command, should the setting go to
Full Screen, you'd need to know the default or escape combination
of keys to restore the application's window to a standard size. This
kind of inside-application setting is not reflected System Wide.
Since I don't know the browser, (as I have five, each is different)
I can't recommend a keyboard combination to re-size the open
application's view or window setting. They can be non-standard.
But that likely is where you'd have to change it back to normal.
PS: Snow Leopard is Mac OS X 10.6.8.
    (Tiger is OS X 10.4.x)
    Good luck!

  • Mac login acounts too wide for the screen

The older versions worked just fine, but Lion login account icons run left and right and are too wide for the screen on the macmini. So, I have to scroll to get to my account at the end of the list. Is there a way to change this?

It is possible that the screen is too wide or too high and that the scroll bars fall off.<br />
Open the system menu via Alt+Space and see if you can resize that window.<br />
If that works then close Firefox to save that setting.<br />
