Safari to support latest BT Yahoo Mail

I had to reinstall Safari however the reinstalled version from Installer Disk won't let me use the latest version of BT Yahoo Mail. I'm stuck with BT Classic.  I have run the 'Software Update' and nothing returns.    I tried to upload the Apple latest Safari from the BT link but they're for either Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 or Snow Leopard 10.6.8 which are later than my 10.5.4.  It was working fine earlier today before the reinstall.  thanks.

Safari 5.0.6 for Leopard can be downloaded from here:

You also need to update your operating system:
The Combo updater of Leopard 10.5.8 can be found here:

  • Safari keeps freezing when using yahoo mail.

Safari keeps freezing while using Yahoo mail. Have to close out or reset safari to regain access. Anyone else ever have this problem?

Why not use Mac Mail instead of Yahoo's web based mail and having to access it via Safari and deal with incompatibility issues?
    Open Mac Mail.
From the menu bar top of your screen click Mail / Preferences then select the Accounts tab then the Account Information tab.
Click +  (plus) under  the Accounts  panel on the left.
Type in your name, Yahoo email address and Yahoo password then click Create.
    It's that easy.
To view incoming mail or start a new mail message just click the Mail icon in your Dock. If the Mail icon isn't in the Dock, go to your Applications folder, launch Mail. Then click and hold the Mail icon in the Dock, click Option / Keep In Dock.

  • Safari won't recognize my yahoo mail login certificate. says it's bogus.

Safari won't recognize my yahoo mail login certificate. says it's bogus.

Maybe you could provide just a few more details for us.  So what I would wonder is, has it done this before or is it a new Mac and your first time trying?  If it's not your first time are you using a bookmarked link?  Do you show an update for Safari in your Software Updates?  If not have you by any chance tried clearing your cache?  If that still maybe try going to Safari > Reset Safari?
Hope this is helpful.  If none of this works let us know what you've tried and any other information you can think of!

  • Safari doesn't work with yahoo mail: always getting beach ball

I recently encountered this problem in my new Mac BookPro. Itstarted my safari showing me the beach ball constantly in any web page (I always have the yahoo mail open in one tab). Now, since couples of days ago, every time I opened my yahoo e-mail after I click on the inbox the beach ball appears and never goes away. Even after I close the yahoo e-mail tab and I try to go back to any other web page tab I had open I get this message:
"Web pages are not responding. To reload this webpage, all pages in other tabs and windows must also be force reloaded. Do you want to reload this page?
Force reloading might cause you to loose information you have entered"
The yahoo mail works perfectly on google chrome so is a safari problem. I have no idea what to do since this is my first Mac and I am not very knowledgeable about them. Any suggestions please?
    Thanks very much

Could be a third party Safari add on causing the beachballs, troubleshooting help here >  Safari: Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues
You can use the Console app  (Applications/Utilities) to help troubleshoot.
To view only messages related to a particular action:
Select the log file you want and click Clear Display in the Console toolbar. If the button is dimmed, it means this feature is not available in this log.
If you want to add a time marker to the log, click Insert Marker in the toolbar.
Perform the action you are interested in and watch the log display to see the messages generated by your action.

  • Safari 6534.50 hangs with Yahoo mail.

This happens about 75% of the time. Command Q will exit and allow another try. Must be some kind of Javascript loop or something like that. Fan speeds up too. Yahoo mail page will open but cursor does not change to a pointer to allow selecting inbox.

This happens about 75% of the time
Instead of accessing your Yahoo mail via Safari, there's another way and you'll avoid the "loop".
Open Mac Mail. From the Mail menu bar click Mail / Preferences then select the Accounts tab then the Account Information tab.
Click + under the Accounts panel on the left.
Enter your name, Yahoo user name and password then click Create.
Now instead of using Safari to access your Yahoo mail, just click the Mail icon in your Dock, or you can launch Mail from the Applications folder.

  • Updated iPhone 4s to latest system yahoo mail cannot connect to server

Apple claim this is a yahoo problem. Contacted yahoo who needed to reset password, which could only be reset on a computer, done successfully. However, although yahoo email address can be obtained via yahoo website it still cannot be accessed directly via mail app on iphone. I was contemplating deleting mail app and reloading same but concerned this will remove notes, calender and reminder information. Any help/advice please

Wait for a minimum 24 hours and try re-configuring. It's a known issue and don't have any specific resolution.

  • Safari sign in to Yahoo Mail

I seem to have a conflict with Safari 3.0.3 and Yahoo Mail sign in. If I quit Safari and later open it, each time I go to Yahoo Mail I have to re-sign in. This is on my master drive, on a slave drive with all the same applications, once I sign in it is good for two weeks. I have reset Safari, removed the cookies, emptied Cache, even deleted Safari and reinstalled Safari. I have even deleted Yahoo and reinstalled Yahoo, same problem. This problem is only with Safari on the master drive, Firefox is not effected with having to re-sign in each time Firefox is opened. I contacted AT&T Yahoo, they gave me some suggestions which I tried and contacting them after failure, they suggested contacting Apple since the problem is only with Safari.

when I open the Tiger installation DVD disk and open installation options I am unable to access a Safari option for installation. How do I access the option?
If you still have the Safari beta in your Applications folder, all you need to do is run the uninstaller that is included in the Safari beta download. The uninstaller will revert you to Safari 2 and its supporting files.
If you deleted the Safari beta, you can reinstall Safari 2 by following Apple's instructions here. (Scroll down to the section titled, "More custom reinstallation options with Mac OS X 10.4.")

  • How do I stop Safari from 'pinwheeling' whenever I am using Yahoo Mail? I really need a correct answer please.                                                                                             Mail? I need a correct answer please.

How do I stop Safari from 'pinwheeling' whenever I try to use Yahoo Mail?
I really need a correct answer please. Other answers have only suggested how to access Yahoo Mail without using Safari. I want to continue using Safari to access Yahoo Mail,if possible.  Thank you.

    Could be a cookie issue...
Go to Safari > Preferences then select the Security tab then click Show Cookies
Type yahoo in the serach field then click Remove All > Done
    Quit then relaunch Safari.
Try accessing your Yahoo mail account.
FYI... there is rarely a sure fire correct response for third party web based email client software. Often takes time consuming troubleshooting.

  • Safari 5.0 freezes after attaching files in Yahoo Mail

Since upgrading to Safari 5, I cannot use Yahoo mail after attaching a file to a message. The program acts like there is a dialog box open and it is waiting for a choice to be made, but there is no dialog box.

    HI,
BrowserPlus is causing problems when attaching files to Yahoo mail. It's not compatible with Safari 5.

Well, my problem with Yahoo Classic is different--I cannot click on some of the buttons! Very weird. No beach ball, but when I attach files to send an email and click on "Attach Files", nothing. Same with a couple others.
Going to try to install the new Flash as Mark suggested. Anyone else have this issue?
I probably should change to Yahoo's newer mail app but I just prefer the Classic version.
You might want to read the other replies in that Apple discussion and try the suggestions ... or just contact Yahoo help, if no one else replies here.

  • Cannot access yahoo mail on my intel mac pro

hi i can access my yahoo email on my laptop using safari which is in power mac g4 but cannot do the same on intel mac pro can please someone suggest a cure?
When i enter user id and password while using safari to access email on yahoo mail using my laptop i do not have any problems. However, when i repeat the same using my mac pro safari seems to get me into yahoo mail but asks me repeatedly for my password and does not get me into my mail box.
Do i need to adjust my safari preferences or trash some files from the library? please help

I have had this problem for 2 days, where my yahoo Inbox says it is updated, but hasn't, then gives me "Cannot connect to mail servier"  error message.  If I go to my various folders (other than inbox) they will all update.
Very frustrating.  All other email accounts work fine and only the inbox in yahoo seems to have this problem.
If anyone figured out how to fix this, then let us know.  Thanks
I'll try yahoo support forum next and see if they have anything on this.

  • Safari Version 5.0.6 (5533.22.3) yahoo mail will not support this version . Yet I cannot upgrade to a different version ? What can I do ?

I have a apple ibook and it has safari Version 5.0.6 (5533.22.3) and when I go to yahoo mail it will not load says it is no longer supported. Do I really have to get a different browser  or is their an apple safari browser that I can down load. I also have an new apple book pro and it is fine but this older version is my home use computer.

If your Mac is an Intel CPU model then you can purchase a OS X 10.6.3 Snow Leopard upgrade disc from Apple for$20 and then update to OS X 10.6.8.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
If your Mac is an older PowerPC style Mac, then OS X 10.5.8 is as high an OS as your Mac will go.
If your Mac is a much older PowerPC Mac, you could try TenFourFox which is more up to date web browser, based on Mozilla Firefox, for older PowerPC Macs run OS X 10.4 Tiger or OS X 10.5 Leopard.
    http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/
If your Mac can be upgraded to Snow Leopard, then
Backup your important data and/or your entire Mac OS system before doing a major systems upgrade.

  • I am running Mac 10.4.11 and Safari 4.1.3 - how do I update my browser so I can use the latest yahoo mail

I am running Mac 10.4.11 and Safari 4.1.3. When using yahoo mail, a message appears that I need to update my browser to enable me to use the latest yahoo, and that the browser I'm using is unsupported.
I've tried downloading the new version from Yahoo but I can't complete the download. Not very good at this sort of thing so any help would be most useful.
    Thanks

You need to upgrade the computer’s OS to get a newer Safari version. Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu and check the processor.
If it's a G3, no further upgrades are available.
If it's a G4 or G5, buy a retail Mac OS X 10.5 DVD from a source such as Amazon or eBay; Apple still might have copies in stock if you phone them.
If it's an Intel Mac, buy a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD from the online Apple Store.
Back up your data before upgrading.
