Safari Update 4.1.2 Bug ? Copy/Paste URL
Safari 4.1.2
Hi all,
when I copy a hyperlink from Safari's address field and then paste it into Apple Mail or Eudora it is not pasted as a hyperlink but as plain text. In particular, I noticed that URL's that do not start with "www" are pasted as text, not as hyperlinks.
Doing the same with Firefox works fine, before the update Safari 4.1 also worked flawlessly (in this regard).
I have noticed the same behaviour on all our Macs (10.4.11, Safari 4.2.1)
It is obvious that this problem is related to the latest update Safari 4.1 -> 4.1.2.

Go to the Safari menu bar click Safari / Empty Cache...
Relaunch Safari and see if that makes a difference.

Bug: Copy / Paste from Clipboard. Issue on HTML build.
Bug: Copy Pasted from the clipboard. On export to HTML, some of the graphic references got confused. Replaced 4 image with the 3rd and 4th no where to be found.
While there isn't a unique number displayed with each pasted item in the Assets panel, Muse does append a number to the image file name on export to maintain unique names on the exported site.
As noted in my reply to your other thread, please export from scratch to an empty folder and verify the behavior. Thanks. -
I updated my iPad and now copy/paste won't work anymore and I need it for an important email,Help!

I understand that after updating to the most resent version of iOS, you are unable to copy and paste on your iPad as described in the attached iPad User Guide (page 30).

To begin troubleshooting, I would suggest resetting your using the instructions located in the attached article.
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
If the issue continues after resetting, please let me know what happens when you try to select text as described in the User Guide.

Since updating can no longer use copy/paste for copying internet material into my Word documents
There was a recent update on Fox which I automatically downloaded. Now when I attempt to copy select material or articles I find online the usual copy/paste functions no longer work when I try to copy into already established or new Word documents
I have the same problem.
All of a sudden, I can't drag or cut&paste anything from the Character Viewer into my word documents.
I think it changed when I upgraded to Mavericks.
I get the circle with the line through it when I try.
I hope that someone reads this and has pity!

This bug has been reported in various forms. But I'd like to chime in.
I'm finding that the set of develop settings I copy are not pasting correctly onto other images. Sometimes settings I have NOT checked are pasted; other times settings I HAVE checked are being pasted. The bug does not seem to be related to the specific combination of settings checked and unchecked. Particularly I've found that copy/pasting UNCHECKED white point settings will not paste. UNCHECKED crop will paste. It's quite frustrating. I have not found a work around.
I am using LR 3.2 RC.Mark, you can report this here. This would be most helpful. This forum is now mostly for user help rather than technical issues.

Safari limitations... Arabic, copy & paste, AJAX.
Just bought the iPhone-- love it. However, I've noticed some limitations and perhaps you can shed some light on the situation.
1. No Arabic support! I take Arabic and thought the iPhone would be a great learning tool; however, too my surprise, it doesn't support Arabic. Is there any plug-in for this?
2. No copy & paste...
3. I'll use a specific example: BBC. The new front page doesn't seem to work with the iPhone. For example, you can't move around the AJAX blocks. Also, a lot of the video on the website doesn't work. When will the iPhone have support for more video formats?1. No Arabic support! There are quite a few languages which the iPhone as provided by Apple does not yet support, including Arabic, Hebrew, Vietnamese, Thai, Hindi, Tamil, Tibetan. I've not seen any hacks for Arabic, but someone else may know of one. -
Why are round brackets escaped when copy/pasting URLs from Firefox, in contravention of RFC3987?
Go to any site, and add a 'hash fragment' to the end of the URL that contains round brackets. Copy that URL out of Firefox and paste into a text editor, like so:
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/#%28testing%29
Note that the round brackets have been escaped into %28 and %29 characters.
RFC3987 specifies that "(" and ")" are 'gen-delimiters' are are _not_ equivalent to their escape codes. Replacing these characters with their escape codes is as incorrect (according to the spec) as replacing the "$" or "!" characters (which are not escaped in FF or other browsers) and the "'" (apostrophe) character, which universally is. No, I don't understand it either.
Worse, this behavior does not match what the other major browsers do, so Firefox has essentially broken the promise that URLs are universal. If there are any reasons for doing this, they have not been made clear or documented, that I can find.
The hash fragment is increasingly being used to store 'client side' information, and so messing with these characters is breaking applications. I'm trying to understand if there's a good reason why, or just poor programming. In which case, I'll log a bug report.Webbrowsers do not use RFC3987 at all. See section 1.2.a about Applicability. Maybe you should have a look at RFC3986 instead.
What is the delimiting role for the round brackets that would allow their unescaped use? -

Drap+Drop / Copy+Paste URLs in email not linkable - only first one
This just started happening to one of our users. Prior to this, she had no problem drag+dropping a bunch of urls from Firefox or Safari into a new email in Mail.app.
(details: she has more than one web address open/different windows or tabs, she goes to each one, clicks the address bar and drags into the composed mail, and then moves onto the next web browser windows/tab).
Now only the first URL (web address link) works, the rest are just plain text. The main complaint is from the people she sends these emails to - apparently simply copying the Text URLs and pasting into their web browser is asking too much for them.
I can do it no problem on any other Mac in the office. To make matters even stranger, I was able to do it on her Mac through Apple Remote Desktop - but as soon as I did it in-person on her computer - it started acting up again.
I've tried hitting the Return key and the keypad Enter key, to see if that would produce a different result (was a guess, that perhaps, the enter/return keys on her keyboard is using a different value, apposed to what mine/the default macs use).bump

Copy/paste no longer functions in Firefox. I'm on Mac.
I recently updated Firefox and since then copy/paste does not work. It may actually be the paste that is failing as I think I may have glimpsed activity under the Edit when copying using the keyboard short cut [command C]. Help please. This is maddening.

Has this continued to be a problem? Does it happen on other browsers? Have you tried using the Firefox > Edit menu options for copy/paste? I haven't heard of anyone else with this problem, so more detail would be helpful. -
Copy & Paste problem stops working
I've been experiencing an unusual issue with the copy and paste function on my MacBook Pro. The copy & paste function appears to work fine after I've restarted the computer, but after a short period (can be hours or days) the copy & paste function stops working. Instead of copying the highlighted section (usually I'm copying text) when I go to paste the text, all I appear to get is one space. As I use this feature countless time in the run of a day (copying from mail, Daylite, NeoOffice, Text Edit...)this is turning out to be very annoying.
I have recently re-installed "MacOSXUpdCombo10.4.11Intel.dmg" to see if that made any difference, and everything seemed to be working great for about 5 days, then the same issue started again. If I shut down and re-start my Mac, it seems to offer a temporary solution to the issue.
I have not tried re-installing the operating system.

BassPlayer07Amazingly, I found this looking for a fix for the exact same problem. Mine started today, though it could have been yesterday as I don't remember using copy or paste yesterday.
The one change I have made in the last 48 hours is that I installed the MS Office SP 1 update that just came out. I know it was working right after that update because I was using copy/paste in Word.
The other difference I've found is that a restart doesn't seem to fix mine. I just restarted and still no copy/paste - just a single space instead. And you're right, it doesn't matter what you copy, it always pastes just a single space.
I've tried CMDC/CMDV and the menu items to the same effect.
I hope someone has an answer. -
My copy/paste in the library no longer works
As of about 6:00pm EST, I could no longer copy/paste in the library.
I shut off my computer and turned it back on again. I ran Flash CC again, and it asked me to update.
I still cannot copy/paste after reboot and update.Can you delete the Flash Pro preferenes and then try this.

Preventing URL Copy & Paste in OAF
Hi Team,
I want to prevent the URL Copy & Paste scenario in OAF.
I mean USER1 logged in & visited some pages, Example: Page1. then USER1 copied the URL when he/she is in Page1.
then Did logout.
Then USER2 logged in & then Pasted the URL, which was copied above, then Page1 is getting opened, But we Don't want this type of behaviour.
This kind of Behaviour voilates the Security.
Any Ideas to achieve this.

Yes we have a SecurityMode property at pageLayout level, but by default it should be standard then the system will take care of the security
like user->Responsibility->Menu->Function(which is associated with the page).
If you set to SelfSecured, the developer's responsibility to grant the function, menu to the user...etc.
Check your page's SecurityMode, I am sure it will be standard.
And USER1 and USER2 are accessing the page via same responsibility?
Can you try assigning to the page to diff responsibility and give access to the page using diff responsibility and try the copy paste URL

Since updating to IOS 5 (both on iPhone 4 and iPad 2), I can no longer copy content from some web pages. This almost always happens when displaying .htm pages. IOS will allow ou to select the content and will go through the motions of copying it, but when you go to paste the information anywhere none of the data copied is pasted.
Somewhat similar issue with my ipad2 after upgrade to ios5.I cannot copy/paste the URL address in landscape position with home button on the right. If I rotate the ipad to portrait positions (either side) and landscape with home buttion on the left, it works fine. And when it is working, like I can copy, then after awhile the safari browser website will crashed. The keyboard will comes up and down, up and down..... the search engine will slide in and out, in and out........... the bookmark wll slide in and out.... and immpossible to control the page ..... it will not response when i tap on any part and just have to switch off to stop. Anybody knows what is happening? got a bug? Any fix? Please help...........

Really, you guys didn't fix the copy/paste layer style bug in 13.0.2. Wow, easily reproduced, there is an adobe recommended workaround, meaning very aware of the problem, and couldn't fix it for this update, very sad Adobe, very sad. Can you let us know when this will be fixed?
The 13.0.2 update was targeted to fix one specific bug. It was not intended to be a general bug-fix update.
We are testing a fix now for the layer styles bug and others, and we intend to include these fixes in the next general update, which is currently slated for release in less than two months.
