SAFARI upgrade 3.1.1 from 1.3.1 FAILURE

Dear Fellows: I upgrade my safari 1.3.1 to 3.1.1 on my verison 10.3.9 and as you know it did not work, just bounce once an thats it. I do not have my original installation software CD pack so i download the 1.3.1 upgrade to reinstall it again but the hard disk destination said that this system cannot use this software. Then I trash the 3.1.1 application safari icon and the warning still the same.
I wonder which issues i have to remove from the system to reinstall safari 1.3.1 again or which procedure should be apply to resolve the problem considering that i do not have any CD pack istalattion software.

There ought to be a software block that precludes Panther owners from downloading and attempting an install of Safari 3. Important too you read the "system requirements" before downloading/installing software.
Trying to install S3 has compromised/corrupted OS X's webkit files, which Camino accesses. That is why you are now having problems opening Camino or Safari.
The easiest path is a reinstall of the operating System. If you live near an Apple Store, make an appointment at the Genius Bar, where someone will walk you through the reinstall steps. Otherwise, the simplest path, albeit somewhat time consuming, is to reinstall the OS using the Archive and Install option to reestablish the Operating System. Make sure you read this Apple Document to understand what is required.
Reinstall of the OS requires starting up from your OS X Installer Disc. Once the OS is reinstalled, go to Software Update via the Apple Menu to update your software to its most current versions for Panther. As you install the various incremental updates, keep rechecking Software Update until you see all software is up-to-date. During the upgrades process, you'll find options in Software Update to upgrade Safari back to v.1.3.2. Once done, Camino ought to work.
When finished this process, important to "repair permissions" using Disk Utility found in your Applications>Utilities folder.

If the software doesn't have an uninstall feature, quit Safari and try manually removing the third-party add-on files. These files are usually installed in one or more of the following locations:

After starting, Mail answers are very very slow. The same for Note. Instead of, sending mails is only a bit slower than before upgrading.
In Safari, I choose Goggle as starting page in Preferences, but at every restart misses that starting page and the search strip says "Seek Google or instert an address".

i just want to mention that the samw thing was happening also for the notes and the reminders apps!! (they quit unexpectedly!!).

I can no longer access tesco bank after Safari upgrade

Since the recent safari upgrade when I attempt to login to my tesco bank credit card account I simply get a balnk white screen. Tesco say they have had other customers with this problem but cannot help which is nothing unusual!

I have the same problem with Tesco and had a similar one with Nationwide. I've just downloaded the Thunderbolt Firmware Update from the App store and Nationwide is now ok but not Tesco. Could be that Nationwide have done something because I managed to contact somebody there by email who was looking into it. All I got from phoning Tesco was that they knew there was a problem but hadn't managed to fix it. Suggested I download Google Chrome. Also that it had been affected by another update to the software over the weekend. Very frustrating as you can't email anybody at Tesco and have to phone an 0845 number to 'find out' what is going on. No message on their website to let you know there is a problem and that they're doing something to resolve it.

Updating your Mac's OS X version won't have affected how the Mail app (I assume that it's the Mail app that you are using, not Safari) shows on your iPad. If you don't have the menu bar showing in the Mail app then try closing the Mail app via the iPad's multitasking bar and see if it shows when you re-open it : iOS: Force an app to close
If that doesn't fix it then you could try a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Please open activity monitor and check if there is any entry for safari in there.

I'm sorry, but Apple does not provide a downgrade path for iOS. Because downgrading is unsupported by Apple we cannot discuss it on these forums, but you can use Google to find information on how to install an older version of iOS on any iDevice.

If I go tot this window on finder and enter Time Machine I can go back and find old notes...
If so, am I doing this on my new hard drive on on the time machine? When I do this on the time machine, what is "my home"? Also, I am unable to find "containers".
If I go to users/jeff/library, then I see components, compositions, contextual, etc, but not containers.

Application partitiion is what you will be upgrading from 3.1.(10 to 4.0(8).
MP - maintenance partition is supposed to be 2.1.2 or above which is the same requirement for 3.1.x so, you will be good there.

If those 5 steps don't fix it, the iPhone will need service.

I recently looked at this question with a customer who has been running 8.2 and needs to get some features in newer code. We decided that it made more sense to go to 8.4 than to 8.3.
