Safari video streaming constant stops and starts

I don't remember having this problem in earlier versions of Safari. There is no smooth streaming. I have to wait and wait for bits of video to load. Any suggestions? Thx.

It could be that your G4 is just too underpowered to view some "modern" Web pages.
Many pages now display very large video files and they take a long time to download. If you have a very fast connection you may be getting the data fast enough but your CPU just can't properly display the content without some "hiccups".
Wait until the entire file downloads (pause playback if it begins) to have a better viewing experience.

  • Every video or podcast stops and starts every second

Any help would be appreiciated, using Chrome, Windows XP Pro with SP3, Pentium 4 2.4GHz, with 2GB Ram, with Nvidia Gforce 5200 video card! Too old a system??

hi, all three are pretty much the same, and its not a buffering issue. I hav Verizon Fios and had a WUGNET speed test show download speed being 11.3 Mbps and upload of 1.24. It was possible the Html was slightly better but not by much.

That should be fine for system specs.  My first guess would be network bandwidth issues.  Does it seem like the video/audio buffers fast enough or does the buffer continue to run out when the item is played? Try these two links out, do either of them play better? HTML5 videoNon-HTML5 video Thanks,Chris

  • When I watch youtube videos, it always stop and start. Very  annoying. Any good apps that we can use.

YouTube videos always stop and start . Is there an apps that we can download to stabilize the video.

Are you trying to watch YouTube from a web browser on iPad or from the YouTube app?
Should be running fine from the YouTube app on the iPad unless you have a slow connection.
Our family uses DSL (4-5 Mbps) and we stream video both with iPads, computers and TV with, mostly, no issues like buffering or data degradation/pixellation. It all depends on how much traffic there is on the Internet at any one specific time.
Heavy Internet traffic on different days at different hours of the day, from your ISP, can also be a factor in slowing down your Internet connection.

  • While watching videos they keep stopping and starting

Videos stop every 2-3seconds and may not start for 5 minutes

I understand that on Firefox for Android that when playing videos, they stop and start.
#Does this happen when you clear the cache and restart the browser?
#What version of Android does this happen on?
#Are there certain video files that this will happen for or a specific site?

  • Updated plug-ins, you tube/life stream still stopping and starting

My computer has always run you tube video/life feed fine. Last week it started starting and stopping, I updated adobe plug ins yesterday, it was running great. Today it is stopping and starting again? Any Advice? I've run anti-virus scan-- fine-- restarted it twice.

    Heya,
I integrated the 3 scripts: uidRangeFilter, gidRangeFilter and freeId in the install-script as functions. Some error-checking is missing ... You can try and if all conditions are fullfilled it will install. All conditions means (I think) a free uid below 1001 and a free gid below 101. Maybe some other things ...
You can change the range in which the values are choosen in getFreeUid and getFreeGid (although I could pass the values as parameters to these functions ...). Normally if all goes well, the asterisk-user won't show up in your login-console normally.

  • R7870-2GD5T/OC fan constant stop and start in idle

    Hello,
I have an R7870-2GD5T/OC and I have the following problem with it:
When the Windows7 turn off the screen after x minutes idle time, the VGA card cool off, and turn off the fans completely. However, 0,5 seconds after the turning off he realize the card is too hot, and turning back the fans. However, after 2 seconds he realize the card is cool off and turn off the fans completely. So on.
This continues until the computer goin' to sleep, or the screen turn back.
The problem is the noise. The spinning fans are ok, the stopped fans are ok too, but this constant stopping-starting make a noise like boyracers at the red sign, very annoying.
I installed the MSI softwares, first checked the firmware update, but there is no update for the firmware. I tried to set the fan speed with the Afterburner software, and set to manually to keep the fans in working even at minimum temperature, but is didn't help. When the screen turn off, the VGA card goin to mad.
There is any solution for this? (behind the workaround to never turn off the screen)
This is an Intel i5 config, with 64 bit windows7.
    Thank you.

As GPUs can operate at quite high temps, have you tried setting your min fan speed, i.e. where the fans stop spinning to be maintained up to 60C and only then start increasing the fan speed from there?
What kind of other ventilation have you got in your machine? Have you got a fan on the side panel that can blow onto the GPU?
Does your GPU not have a switch to toggle between normal and LN2 settings?
If all fails, ask MSI technical if they have a different VBIOS for your card that prevents the fans from stopping at all.

  • Videos run intermitently; stop and start

Videos do not run continuously. They stop and then start every few seconds. The same videos play fine on Internet Explorer.

Reload the webpage while bypassing the cache
*Hold down the ''Shift'' key and click the ''Reload'' button with a left click.
*Press ''Ctrl'' + ''F5'' or ''Ctrl'' + ''Shift'' + ''R'' (Windows and Linux)
    *Press ''Command'' + ''Shift'' + ''R'' (Mac)
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
'''Clear the Cache''': Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
'''Remove Cookies''' from sites causing problems:
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

  • Why does my video's always stop and start?

Can't listen or watch a movie because it keeps stopping & starting. Hoping to find a solution.

     Hi Trisha,
    You're welcome
    Try the following.
First, download the Flash uninstall utility on the link below and save it to your Desktop.
    Flash Player Uninstaller.
When the download has completed, close all browser windows and run the uninstaller.  After this has completed, restart the notebook.
Next, download and install Firefox and then using Firefox, download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash.  Note: You may want to deselect the option to include McAfee Security Scan Plus before downloading.
Close all browser windows before running the Flash installer.
Launch Firefox and see if videos play Ok in this browser - if they do, close Firefox, open Internet Explorer and click on the same Adobe Flash link above to get a prompt to install the ActiveX component.  When done, restart Internet Explorer.
If you still get the loading problem, run a check on the speed of your internet connection using a site like the one on the link below, in case this is what's causing the problem.

  • Videos on YouTube stop and start

Why do the videos I'm watching on YouTube pause every few seconds?

Possibly because your local Internet connection isn't fast enough to download the video to your computer for real-time viewing. Does this happen at all times of the day and night, or only in the evening hours when Internet usage is heaviest?
Or possibly because your computer is doing lots of other things at the same time. Does it happen when no apps are open besides your browser, and no other browser tabs or windows are open?

  • Why do videos continue to stop and start on my MacBook Air?

When I try to watch videos, like on You Tube, the videos will only play small sections at a time.  It won't play continuosly.

    have the same issue

  • Stops and starts in video streaming from iphone to tv using apple tv and airplay. Both devices have latest software and are capable.

When try to stream content (specifically, videos from Acorn.com) to my TV through my apple TV from my iphone 5,The video  freezes, stops and starts continually, even though it is playing smoothly on the screen of my iphone.  both iphone, Apple TV  are capable models and have latest software updates.
    What's wrong here?

Not necessarily, but right now you don't have a stable network and there are a lot of factors that can compromise that. I didn't say ethernet was the only option, again you can get a report of your network to see the status.  Would have to change things in order to strengthen the wifi signal (i.e. router location, channel, placement of ATV etc). I am running on wireless without issue, same as most users, and if you took it to a controlled environment (like Apple) you would see similar results.

  • Video stops and starts

Sometimes video streaming makes images stop and start every 2 minutes or so,  and although it doesn't always happen the problem it's getting worse. Is there any way of fixing it? Thanks

Do a Speedtest, you need at least 4Mbps to stream nicely.

  • Buffered videos stop and start

I am trying to watch online video and tv. The video streaming stops and starts. It can be youtube, vimeo, or a television show online -- same poor result. I have a very slow connection. Knowing this, I always wait for the video to buffer -- there is always a greyed buffered bar well ahead of where I am watching. The video still stops and starts. Is this a connection issue or something else? Thanks.

T1 that is brutally slow, but I had hoped that despite how slow the connection is, the buffering would eventually get it downloaded. So even though its buffering, the slow T1 can still make the videos stop and start?

  • Videos stopping and starting every three to five seconds

I am having problems downloading videos from U Tube and msn. I can't even download videos from the Apple Site. The videos from U Tube stop and start every 3 to 5 seconds. They resume after 3 to 5 seconds. I have downloaded the latest version of QuickTime. I have gone into preferences-advanced and changed the transport setup to custom; set transport protocol to http and post to 80. I have also clicked on the streaming tab; set the speed to one lower than the ISP connection and move th enable instant on slider 2-3 bars from the left. What else can I try?

There is currently no official version of MSN Messenger for Mac that supports video, unfortunately-- you might try aMSN instead, but I haven't used it myself so can't comment on the video support:
    http://www.amsn-project.net/
However, the built-in camera works fine for me on Skype (and Yahoo last time I tried, which was a while ago), which suggests something else might be wrong somewhere...

  • Videos stop and start

I've got a fast computer w/plenty of ram. I can watch videos from all other sources perfectly smooth, including Quicktime HD movie trailers.
When I try to watch a video in iTunes it slows my computer down so much that besides the videos stopping and starting, my mouse won't even move smoothly.
It worked fine until a couple of weeks ago.

    Phyllis-
One reason is that your internet connection is not fast enough to keep up with the video.  You may find that when it gets to the end of the video and has fully downloaded, it will replay without stopping.
