Safari vs. IE7 for Windows

I'd use Safari far more often on my PC if it could do two things that IE7 does--Send to One Note and Blog This. Safari doesn't seem to recognize One Note and i don't know of a way to blog something directly from the browser to my site.
I'd also like to see the scroll wheel on my mouse be functional in Safari. It is in both IE7 and Firefox. But that's a minor inconvenience.
Does anyone know of ways to make Safari do the two things listed above?

Thank you for answering me. Now I know how to refresh but my Java is still not working. As I said it works On IE and Firefox but not on Safari 4.0. Also when I open Safari by double clicking on my desktop shortcut I get get a message then I click ok on message and it will open for me. Here is the error message I keep getting.
The procedure entry point is threaded desktop composited could not be located in the dynamic link library USER32.dll
Does anyone know what this is about. If this can't be solved whether Safari is faster or not I am going back to my Firefox. It's not worth the headache.

Is there an option to duplicate F11 windows function in Safari 4 browser for Windows? I want ALL the tool bars to hide.

you can go to the view menu and turn everything off. If you want the tool bar (with back & forward buttons, address bar & google bar), hit Ctrl + L. If you want the menu bar (file, edit, etc.), hit the "alt" button. That should give you the full screen solution while still having access to those navigation elements.

CSS Question: IE7 for Windows Not Behaving

Hi all,
I hope there is a CSS buddy out there today. I have a page that I've built using only CSS (New to doing this) and the page works in Safari, Firefox on both Mac and PC, but IE7 on Windows is rendering the logo/header/navigation wrong.
Maybe there is a better way to do this. I'm wanting the logo floated to the left so it sits over the borders on the header, navigation & main content box. I thought I was all clever when it worked on my Mac. It seems like it's a simple fix, but I just can't get anything to work. IE7 seems to not be floated above and is pushing the header and navigation to it's right. So the header and the nav are wrapping around the logo instead of sitting under.

I would recommend making the header section a wrapper containing your background. If you need to, you can position your background image relative to the right.
I believe that's already how it has been done.
To get around the IE issue, you may need to play around with relative or absolute positioning (relative to the header, not the body) to get the alignment you want.
Alternatively, you could create the header with the background image as indicated above, then within that, float the navigation element to the right (pushing it down by setting the top margin or padding) then follow them with the image tags without the div containers. They are inline so they will 'float' naturally. Set margins on the images to get your spacing between the images.

I can't view PDF files on Safari 5.1 for windows 7, how do I fix this?

I like using Safari 5.1 for my web browser at work (I use a windows 7 machine). But the recent update won't let me view PDF files. I have to open up Google Chrome then copy and paste the address into it so I can view the PDF. How do I fix this?

I use Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro 9.4.5
There are no updates for this. Are you suggesting I unistall then reinstall this?

Safari not working for windows vista

everytime i start up safari it just quits unexpectedly and windows just can't seem to find a solution for this problem. wondering whether it's a bug and whether there's any updates for it!

Help others to help you by posting what you have tried to stop the crashing.
In mac, cleaning up internet clutter has been known to help.
Cookies, cache, Icons folder etc...
Enable the debug Menu in Safari that may help, if like Mac there are net files there you can empty.
To enable the Safari debug menu on Windows
C:\"Program Files"\Safari\Safari.exe /enableDebugMenu
See Macosxhints for more details, on how to use the command.

What versions of Safari were released for windows?

Omniture reports Safari version numbers, but not the OS.
I need to download older versions of Safari to QA webpages.
The platform being QA'd is Windows (XP-SP3 & Windows7).
It seems as if there were more than 2 versions of Safari for Windows.
I can only find a download for 5.1.7 and 3.1.2 - what about interim versions?

Safari 5.1 for Windows not updating to Safari 6?

My Safari won't update to Safari 6. I cant find it on Apple's website and it has been out for Mountain Lion for a while now, and I REALLY want iCloud tabs and stuff so i can browse the same stuff across all of my devices. Chrome does it, but i hate chrome user interface and prefer Safari.

Safari 6 for Windows is not available for Windows as it is not released by Apple.
Safari 5.1.7 is the latest version available for Windows.

Safari 5.1 for Windows 7 x64 (Scrolling Problem)

I know its known to some that scrolling is broken or at least is very flakey with Safari 5.1 on Windows 7. I have two questions. First, has anyone found a fix yet? Second, if not, how would I contact Apple specifically about this problem? Thanks.

I know it isn't what was asked in the post but it might help if this is the problem you have until they fix this.
My scroll wouldn't work unless I rolled the wheel real fast. After disabling "Smooth Scrolling" the scrolling worked.
I hope this helps someone because I was just about to stop using Safari befor I got it to work.

Safari 5.1 for Windows no longer connects to the internet. Anyone else see this?

I'm typing this from Firefox on the same Windows XP Pro machine which watching Safari in an infinite "connecing to www.apple.com" window. I've been using Safari on this same machine for over three years. Todays Safari update killed it.

No Woder, Apple broke something wiht this Update. There are too many ppl complaining post update.
Anyway, M also suffering the same glitch. Have saved the pain of uninstalling-installing of Safari/iTunes(thanks to other fellow sufferers).
Now, here is the complete picture:
- PPL said to clear out proxies or something. I did everything, but nomproxy settings are there.
- Oftenly, when on the preferences of Safari, i get this Error message for webkit2webprocess.exe has some probem. xpcom.dll is missing. Didnt get this msg tonight though.
- Downloaded WebKit and tried to run as said above. but it prompts as
Safari.exe - Entry Point Not Found

Cannot install safari 3.1 for windows

I downloaded safari 3.1, i installed it, windows (vista)/the programm says it is done but it is nowhere on my pc.
Anybody else had this too?
Like to see messages *from the apple support people themselfes*. I find this wrong behaviour of a programm.

Safari looks nice, once the font fix is applied. But if the Programs and Features Control Panel doesn't list it, it ain't there.
Normally it would go into "Program Files (x86)" and could be within Apple or AppleComputer.
If you have other Apple software, under AppData Roaming would be Apple Computer => Safari along with an iTunes folder that holds personal bookmarks, but that only gets created when launched and it imports Favorites and settings from IE.
AppleData Local has another Apple Computer w/ Safari subfolders for Database, History, URLLists History.
I run a 'clean ship' and never interfered with startups. I use to worry about 64-bit versions being supported (Apple came out with x64 version finally).
I would run a chkdsk on your boot drive, then look for how to use and run SFC.

Safari 5.1 for Windows XP Back Behavior broken

When using tabs, the back button now goes back to previous state for the browser window, not just the selected tab.
For instance, I have the window open to the apple.com web page (no tabs). I then open a Bookmarks Bar folder of bookmarks in tabs. I click a link in a tab to another page. I then want to go back to the proveious page for that tab. However, when I hit the Back arrow in the toolbar, all tabs close and I go back to apple.com. The back arrow is affecting the window state, not the tab state.

Why are there no answers for this since August??! I just upgraded safari on my work PC from 5.0.5 (which worked fine) to 5.1, and now if I hit the back button, all my tabs close. That is ridiculous and unacceptable. Why is there not more outrage about this giant glaring BUG?

Ugly text rendering in Safari 5.03 for windows

Text renders really ugly and some times unreadable in Safari.
Not all text but always the text in RSS feeds and the text in this forum.
It's too bold and looks like it is small text that has been scaled up without adding pixels.
Anyone else with same problem or anyone with a solution?

There are no issues using 2 or 20 browsers, keeping the bookmarks sync'd is not a pushbutton affair, export your bookmarks from IE then import them to Safari

Arabic in Safari for Windows

It seems Arabic font is not supported by Safari Public Beta for Windows!?
Is there any way to add fonts or reconfiger Safari to make it supported?
Note:
It reads the font but the letters are not connected as Normal way in Arabic Language.

All reports indicate that complex scripts -- Arabic, Devanagari, Thai diacritics -- will not display correctly in Win Safari beta. No fix is known. Presumably a later version will correct it.
