Safari web address and search bars missing.

I have a two year old Mac that is still running on Snow Leopard, and for some reason, when I launch Safari, the place to type in web addresses at the top is missing along with the general search bar. Anybody know how to bring it back?

Hit a banner at the bottom of safari. Went to a site that said my phone was being affected. Reset my phone. Now safari address and action bars are black instead of blue. Possible virus or overreaction?

Yes, iOS5 changed the interface of Safari. It's official. Not sure if you've noticed but auto-correct and spellcheck are missing from the search bar as well.

Safari Search Bar Missing

Hi,
I searched the community forums about this issue with Safari. I went to View > Customize toolbar... I see the search bar on the 'default set in toolbar', but I don't see it when I use Safari! I recall modifying the plist of Safari to remove the search bar because I want to the function of the search bar in Chrome and I can't reverse it. I tried re-installing Safari, but that does not work.
Advise.
OS X: 10.7.2
Safari: Version 5.1.2 (7534.52.7)

I tried dragging out the plist, it created a new one, but it's the same thing.

However, I'd like to know if this is a security issue having to having the address/search bar feature, yes? For example, logging into my bank might leak some information because of the modification in the plist.
I need reassurance.

Address bar and search bar freeze when a pdf is open in Firefox 4

The address bar and search bar freeze when I open a PDF document in Firefox 4. I have Adobe Reader X installed.
This means you cannot type anything in the address bar for that tab or any other tab until you close that PDF.

Oh it was a problem with Adobe's Plug-in. As per [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/804580#answer-167069 MrKoffee's answer ], I noticed that I already had Adobe Reader X installed but nevertheless I went to adobe.com to download it again. When I installed it this time, it said "installing updated patch". Went back to Firefox to check and problem solved! :)
Ps. did not need to disable any previous plug-in or even close Firefox.

The status bar and search bar are black in safari

Just in the last few days when I go to Safari on my IPad 2 the status and search bars are black with white print. I want the silver and white color scheme back, can you help?

Turn off Private Browsing mode.

Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
No data is lost due to a reset.

URL address bar and Google search field are combined together in Safari 6.
Apple calls it Smart Search field.
There is no way to separate them.

Safari web addresses

I have a 2008 Macbook with Snow Leopard 1.6.8 and Safari 5.0.5. Safari used to have a feature where a web address was shown at the top of the page. That is no longer there, but now, at the very top of the page, there is a page title. When right clicking on the title, the pages web address appears.e.g. http://discussion.apple.com/
I have not found a way to copy and paste these web addresses like I used to be able to. Does anyone know how to do this with this version of Safari? The workaround that I use is to also have Firefox open and search for the web page that I want there and then copy and paste the address from Firefox. It is just a minor inconvienience, but I always thought that these upgrades were supposed to make things easier and more user friendly...

Show Toolbar is in place and functioning. When I right click on the title the web address appears. That is not the problem. I want to be able to copy and paste a web address. For example, if I am sending someone an email, I would like to be able to copy and paste the web address and have that appear in the email as a hyperlink. I used to be able to do that with earlier versions of Safari, but with this latest version I can't.

How to Print a interactive report without action button and search bar

I am working on printing an interactive report. If there are 20 columns in that report i need to select some columns for printing. For this purpose i used actions button which is in the search bar of the interactive report. But i do not want to get that Actions button and search bar to get printed in the printing page. Can any one give a solution to sort out my problem

How do I get all the control buttons in one place in 3.6.16, like they used to be in previous versions? Having the refresh and stop buttons between address and search windows, and the home button to the far right is awful.

In 3.6.16, the buttons are all over the place. In previous versions, the forward, back, refresh, stop and home buttons were all together. In this version, the refresh and stop buttons are between the address and search windows, and the home button to the far right.
I would love to have them all together as they used to be - much more user friendly that way. I have tried installing alternate themes, but the coding of this version over-rides the themes.

Firefox 4.0 has a combined Reload and Stop and Go button that appears at the right end of the location bar.
To restore the Firefox 3 appearance you can use these steps:
* Open the "View > Toolbars > Customize" window to move the Stop and Reload button out of the location bar.
* Move the Reload and Stop buttons to their previous position at the left side of the location bar.
* Set the order to "Reload - Stop" to get a combined "Reload/Stop" button.
* Set the order to "Stop - Reload" or separate them otherwise to get two distinct buttons.

How do I change and set the width of the Address and Search box

Currently, the Address box crowds out the Search. I really don't need the Address box as much as I need the Search box. I recall a method of setting them using a routine in the Chrome folder but I sure can't find it. Can you help?

Every time I close Firefox I lose my address and seach bar.

When I close or "X" out of Fire fox then go back in (even after a few seconds) I lose my Address bar and Search bar. I have tried resetting the defaults and adding in the other icons (cut, copy, past, print, ect...) and have even created a tool bar just for the two.

no luck deleted the file and restarted FF but after making changes (adding a tool bar for URL and search), closing and re-opening I still lost the added tool bar.
Edit: The two do stay if I don't add the extra bar. Thanks for the help I'm just going to have to get use to it I guess.

Search bar missing; no forward or back arrows either.

I just noticed this yesterday. When I use Safari, there is no search bar present, nor are there any forward or back arrows. This means that when I want to go to a different page within the same site, I have to go back to Google, write in the same information as I just did, and then go from there. Does anyone know how to correct this problem? Thank you very much.

1. In the Location bar, type about:config and press EnterReturn.
* The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page may appear. Click I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue to the about:config page.
2. Search for the preference keyword.enabled.
3. Double-click the keyword.enabled preference to toggle it between true and false.
* false disables Internet Keyword searches.
* true enables Internet Keyword searches.
