Safari. When going back on a web page, why does that page start at top?

Hi, new to Apple and macbooks etc, but bought a new Macbook Pro and very happy I am with it too.
However, one thing with Safari bothers me. When I am on eBay for instance and have scrolled halfway down a page, I then click a link that takes me to whatever, within the same tab. When I then want to return to the previous page, at the same point that i left it, i.e halfway down the page, when I do this it always opens at the top of the page and I have to scroll down again and find the place I was before.
Hope this makes sense and someone can answer why this happens or offer a solution to stop it from happening. (pretty sure it doesn't happen in firefox but I don't really use that now.)

Do you mean opening a link to one of your pages or opening an external link?
Can you go back properly if you open the tab history via the right-click context menu or by holding down the left mouse button on the Back button?
You may need to reload your web page(s) and bypass the cache if you've made changes to files.
*Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)

Look at no. 5 in this text which was copied from Apple's support site for troubleshooting Messages and FaceTime activation.
Troubleshooting Apple ID activation
After each step, toggle iMessage and FaceTime off and then on again in Settings > Messages and Settings > FaceTime.
Update to the latest version of iOS.
Ensure that you have an active Internet connection. You can complete activation using Wi-Fi or a cellular data connection. Check your Wi-Fi network using standard Wi-Fi network troubleshooting.
If you receive an error when signing in to your Apple ID, visit myinfo.apple.com, sign in to your account, and ensure that the primary email address has been verified.
Ensure that FaceTime has not been restricted: Settings > General > Restrictions > FaceTime.
In Settings > General > Date & Time, ensure that Set Automatically is on. If Set Automatically is on, but the incorrect time zone is displayed, turn Set Automatically off and then choose the correct time zone, date, and time. Then turn Set Automatically on again.
Enable iMessage and FaceTime while connected to another Wi-Fi network in a different location.

I have an IPhone 5s the screen is magnified usually I turn off then turn on it goes back to regular size its not doing that. Can anyone help?

hello sofg777, when you're at a page you want to print try to press ctrl+P and select a different printer than the Microsoft XPS Document Writer which seems to be set as your default printer in firefox at the moment.

Back button doesn't appear after going to a new web page but works from after that

The back button and refresh button don't work when I start browsing in a new tab or a new window. For example, if I open a webpage in a new tab (or start a new session, etc):
Open browser and go to mozilla.com (first web page)
Click on any link (second web page)
Can't click on back or refresh buttons (Greyed out)
Click on any link again (third web page)
Can click on back button to second web page but still won't go back to first web page (as if history of ever visiting the first web page isn't there)
Does anyone have a similar problem or know how to solve it?
I have also noticed that Firefox hangs sometimes, like when clicking on forget/delete this from history and disable/remove add-ons

im not sure but maybe this helps. I was opening links with right mouse button at FF3.6 and second option was open in new tab but at FF4 this option at first order. If you use same way as like me. your new tabs are new windows so there is no back option or refresh.

When I try to open my games it acts like it wants to open but then just goes back to the symbol page.

When I try to open my7 games I can't. The icon blinks like it is going to open and then just goes back tot he home page. I think my music may be playing all the time how do I turn it of?

It really isn't a well thought out 'gesture' when a normal scroll action can result in an unwanted zoom but disabling SmartZoom wasn't an option for me—one of those with eyes that tire easily when reading very small text on a 27" display.
For a while I used command-+ and command-'-' to read small text but that isn't supported in some apps and for Safari it often leaves the browser in an less than perfect state when moving to the next page. I also tried option scroll to zoom the whole display but that was not desirable, either.
I finally settled on leaving SmartZoom enabled and remembering to double tap with one finger whenever the undesired zoom happens. It happens so often that the double tap is almost a reflex action for me.

In Firefox 23 versions and later the keyword.URL pref is no longer supported and it is no longer possible to specify the search engine for the location bar via the keyword.URL pref.<br />
The search engine that is used on the location bar and on the about:home page is the search engine that is selected in the search Bar on the Navigation Toolbar.<br />
Current Firefox versions do not update the about:home home page until you refresh the page (future versions will do this automatically without a refresh) and that is what happens if you use the Back key.
You can install the Keyword Search extension to specify with search engine to use for the location bar and which search engine to use for the about:home page via the Options/Preferences windows of this extension, accessible via the about:addons page.

I want to launch a Bo report whith a URL and render it back to the web pages in HTML format? And the report have parameters as well.
Exampel: If a have report in InfoView that i want to se in my web page i just click a link button with my URL. And i get my report.
My version of BO is 5.1.6 at the moment but we are going to upgrade to BO XI soon.
Here is another exampel that works for Reporting Services:

The openDocument API is available in Business Objects XI onwards. I don't think you would be able to do it from 5.1.6.

Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
Let us know after that what happens.

Safari Not Displaying All Images On Web Page

When I look at a web page in Safari on my iPhone 3GS, not all of the images on the page load. Instead, I see little blue squares with question marks in them. However, if I look at the same web page on an iPhone 4, the images DO load. Why is this happening?
