Safari will open but then nothing!

Hi,
I went to the apple store because of a problem with the fans coming on really loud and they re installed my operating system using a few cds in the store.
I came home and everything seemed fine untill I tried to open safari. It opens but none of my bookmark menus are there and when I try to type an address into the window, it lets me type but then does nothing!
Then when I try to go to the Toolbar at the top of my computer it will not let me click anything! It is very strange. I downloaded firefox and am currently using that, however I really want to figure this out!
Any help would be appreciated!

•Click on the HD is it there ? Now I think about it that is where Previous System folder should be, been a little while since i did one.
Also I read your next post and the links and it said safari might now work after an archive and install and you must re install the old version? How do I do that?
I do not think they say the old version rather update to the lastest ( most recent version for your os). that is correct version os on your spex ->Mac OS X (10.3.5) look under Blue apple about this mac to make sure

Go to the Blue apple -> Software update and run that to see what is available for your os now. Are there any safari updates.
Run permissions repair before & after uppdates with the Disk Utility do you know how to do that ? Look at Gulliver knowledge base article, I linked to you.
You are using Firefox now & have your bookmarks good they are not lost!!
•Again look for "previous system folder" in HD
•What version is your blank Safari?
•What is avaliable to download from the software updater
•Read Gullivers Kbase article, before you update.

Safari will open, but only google works. Any other website and it says “unknown error” (kCFErrorDomainWinSock:10022) I don't know what to do. Recently, Firefox updated, page opens but then nothing, it will not continue and load up

I have Firefox browser on my laptop. It upgraded recently and does not work. Page will come up but then 'not responding' and remains that way.

Check the home page setting.

You can try to delete the sessionstore.js [2] file and possible sessionstore-##.js [3] files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

Firefox will open but then is totally unresponsive, I even have to force quit.

On 2/11/12 I had been using Firefox in a couple of websites for a couple hours. I had been printing various pages. I tried to print another page and Firefox started hanging and became totally unresponsive. It opens, I get the start page and then nothing will happen after that. I have moved Firefox to trash and downloaded version 10.01 for Mac again but it is doing the same thing.

Force-close the Messages app: from the home screen, double-tap the home button, locate Messages in the list at the bottom, tap and hold it until it wiggles, tap to close it, tap the home button again. Try Messages again.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

I have a similar problem, Safari cannot load a complet page. It stalls e.g. ["38 of 42"]. sometimes it will complete loading after a long wait. just as often it will never complete the page,
The same thing happens in chrome and firefox but safari on my iPad works just fine.
I have the latest version of everything
I assume there is a system problem but cleaning up permissions does not help

Drag the Safari icon straight up and off the Dock so it goes, "poof" ...
Now click and hold the Safari app in the Applications folder and drag that to the Dock.
See if you can open a webpage in Safari.

Sure, it looks like the call disconnected, but as soon as I try to make another call, I see the same screen (the first called) and the words "calling mobile". The only way I can rememdy this, naturally, is powering off and restarting. But, c'mon...$300 for a phone that you have to power down between calls???
I've got the latest OS update, no jailbreak, or anything exotic on my 4s. What's more, when I try to make a call 2 out of 3 times, the dumb SIRI opens up and stops me from making the call. (and, yes, I have very carefully checked my process that I am not intentionally activating SIRI with my cheek.)
Again, $300 for all this in just trying to make a call?

reset your phonr by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

Here's something I found out in the meantime, maybe this is interesting for somebody or maybe - problem's not totally solved - enough info for any of you to give me further advice.
When I start Logic Core Audio driver de-activated, I can open old songs. Then I save them in a new folder with all audio files and a new name. And I remove all EXS24 instruments as well as the Space Designer. I quit Logic, re-open with Core Audio activated and I can open the song.
Problem no.1: EXS24 instruments don't find the appropriate samples, but EXSMananger Pro did help me with this. Same problem with Space Designer, which doesn't find the impulse responses, connected to a certain preset.
Two questions, every idea would be great!
- Is there any way to teach Space Designer Presets where to look for impulse respones. I can load IR samples directly and create a new preset, but I can't use my old ones.
- Is it possible to install Logic from scratch over an existing version? Or how should I de-install everything connected with Logic and then install a fresh version from CD?

My iphoto is opening but then it has that gray spinning wheel and nothing ever changes?

so my iphoto opens, but then the gray wheel just keeps spinning and the rest of the application never loads. would it b best to just reistall iphoto?

What version of iPhoto? Assuming it's 09 or later:
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .
