Safari won't open financial portfolio page

I can't access the financial portfolio.  A page comes up saying Safari can't open this page. I have followed their help to steps with no result.

So if multiple browsers won't open the same page, is it necessarily a browser issue? I think the website's end is where the problem would be.

I have purchased a monthly subscription to acrobat XI, but safari won't open the necessary page. it tells me I don't have the APP etc. No idea what it means

    Don’t worry about it.
I’m going to cancel the subscription.
I maged to download it and install it, but it’s constantly damaged and won’t open.
I may as well just forget it and cancel.

  • Safari update to 5.1.5, on snow leopard, now safari won't open any web page.

Just installed Safari update to 5.1.5 and now Safari won't load any web page. Running snow leopard on an iMac.  How do I fix, or revert to previous version of Safari that did work, keeping in mind, can't access internet on that computer since Safari won't load a web page (Firefox, Chrome, Opera have never worked on that computer, although Firefox worked fine until I upgraded OS to snow leopard).

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up a guest account” (without the quotes) in the search box.
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem(s)?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in Mac OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
    Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

  • Safari won't open some secure pages

It's not just Safari, though - Firefox, Chrome, Opera.
It's not just my iMac either - MacBook Pro *AND* iPad.
Some secure sites simply won't open.  It looks like they load (the timer thing goes through the URL) but blink - no page. Just a blank browser window.
    Any clues??
I've tried reinstalling browsers, trashing preferences, turning off all security measures - pretty much anything you can think of.  OS is 10.8.3, browsers are all updated to most recent versions.
I'm stumped.  It wouldn't be a big deal except for one page that I NEED to get to for my job. I can't keep running over to my neighbor's house and using IE on his Windows 7 PC - not only is it irritating him, but it's making me crazy that something that works so effortlessly on his crappy PC won't work AT ALL on my Macs!
    HELP!

3 devices - they all connect using the same router/modem ?
can you connect at neighbouring house using ipad or macbook pro ? - that would maybe confirm the issue being with your connection.

  • Safari won't open certain web pages

    Hi,
I can't get Safari to open certain web pages. This has only been the case for the last week or so, I could happily view them before.
    2 examples are : www.facebook.com and www.quaysws.co.uk
can anybody please help, it just seems a bit weird...

I just got this link, http://www.quaysws.co.uk/flash/page1.php,
to open in both Safari and Firefox. Mind you at the same time, I cannot get Apple.com to open in Safari I'm running Leopard with Safari 3.0.4. Whoa Safari just decided that Apple.com does exist and opened it without me first having to restart the computer. Safari definitely has some bugs but you may want to make sure that you don't have any 3rd party add-ons set up and you may have to reinstall.

  • Why would Safari try to insert an s, as in https, into the facebook log in.  Safari won't open the secure page. Advice?

Why would Safari try to insert an s, as in https, into the facebook log-in page.  "Safari can't connect to this secure page."  I've checked preferences and cannot find a reason for this change to the regular facebook address. Safari 5.0.5 on MacbookAir.  I can't even download the updated software.

If you leave your session idle for a while, the site might log you out due to inactivity, but... I wouldn't trust that, either.
Usually your bank will have a link, menu, or some other way to log out. Certainly that is the best thing if you can do it. Sometimes if a site is not fully compatible with Firefox its style rules will result in a jumbled layout. You can disable all the style rules and view the site in a plainer layout to see whether you can spot the missing link. To do that:
tap the Alt key > View menu > Page Style > No Style
(The tab will remain unstyled going forward. You can use the same menu to reapply the page's style sheets later.)
Also, if you want to break the connection between Firefox and your banking session, you can clear your cookies for the bank site. This won't necessarily have any effect on your banking session ''on the server'' but should make it impossible for someone to use your Firefox to do anything in that session. To clear cookies for the current site, you can use the Page Info dialog. Here are 3 ways to open it:
    * right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * click the padlock on the address bar > More Information > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then reload the page and the site should behave as though you are not logged in.

  • New macbook pro safari won't open Apple support pages!

It is so odd.  I can open every other site in Safari EXCEPT the Apple Support pages!  It's a brand new Macbook Pro.  Any ideas???

To clarify, it looks like if I search something via Google it won't let me see any of those support page results.  It does work via a Yahoo search, but no Googlel

  • Safari Won't Open BlueSocket Login Page

    Hi
At University, we use a system called BlueSocket to log into our wireless networks. It basically pops up a webpage when a browser opens and i type my login details in. I am using Black MacBook, Snow Leopard and Safari 4.0.3 but when i connect to the network, i get assigned an IP, then try to launch Safari, it tries to load my home page and not the BlueSocket login page.
Does anyone know what would be causing this? I don't have any proxies set. I spoke to the Helpdesk at University, but they don't deal very well with Macs...but they said it should work fine with Safari, and it does work fine with my iPhone.
    Thanks
    Joe

I'm having a similar problem when I visit my mom at the hospital. The hospital network redirects you to a login page when you open a new browser on their network. Same as most places now - whether hotels or Starbucks or wherever. I got on once with Safari, and now neither Safari nor Firefox will redirect again. I tried it in Windows running Parallels and it didn't work, either. I finally rebooted with BootCamp and it works fine in IE, Safari, and Firefox. I restarted back into Snow Leopard, and nada.
I hate it when Windows does something better than Mac. Anybody know why this is happening?

  • Safari won't open Apple home page last 2 days!

I hav an pad original with 5.1.1. iOS and latest safari for iOS 5.1.1.
When I go to the Apple page  I instantly get alert:
"Safari cannot open the page because of  too many redirects."
I turrned off iPad fully, Restarted it but no help. I can view Apple.com with other browsers BTW no problem.
Any thoughts? Apple care is stumped. As am I.
    Thanks

I am still using Snow Leopard so this fix doesn't work for me as there is no option to restore windows when quitting (I currently cannot upgrade to Lion as my memory isn't sufficient). Since dowloading 5.1, whenever I launch Safari it opens with a blank window instead of my homepage - plus it's VERY hit and miss as to what page I'm going to get when I open a new window or tab.
Any ideas or will I have to go back to OS 10.6.7 just so I get have my browser opening at my homepage?

  • Safari won't open a new page

When I open Safari on my macbook, all it does is open the window and show me a non-blinking cursor in the address bar. I can't type anything in, and nothing happens.
I'm running with all the latest updates installed, and confirmed that through the update checker. No other programs seem to be affected, and I can run other internet applications fine.
    Thanks!

    Welcome to Apple Discussions
    Three suggestions:
"Repair permissions" via Disk Utility in your Utilities folder. Apple's guidance may be found here. Try Safari, if no change go to the next suggestion.
Within Safari in your regular User Account:
Drag to the trash the com.apple.safari.plist folder found in your User Account>Library>Preferences folder.
Restart Safari. If this works, you'll need to reset your custom preferences, plus any custom settings in the Edit (spelling) or View (status bar, bookmarks bar, custom icons etc.) menus.
Otherwise, move the file back to its original location.
Last suggestion: Try Safari from another user account. Here is guidance from Apple on how to set up the account. You can ignore step 7 in the article.
Also, on the system preference>Accounts panel, click on "log-in" options. There, select "fast user switching". This allows you to go back and forth between user accounts via an icon in your Menu Bar at the top of the computer screen.
Log-on to the new account and start Safari. If the Safari works in the new account, then your problem is specific to your regular user account. Otherwise, similar response means a system-wide problem.
Post back with results for further direction.

  • Safari won't open certain web pages and download/stream speed slow

I have recently been experiencing problems with viewing certain websites, content on websites, streaming video, and downloading files. Sometimes the website will load but all the images will be blue question marks. I cannot get anything to load on youtube. Streaming video on Netflix is really slow as well. My bandwidth allowance on my network is 3 mbps (I'm the only user) and I have been getting between 40-300 kbps when downloading things. I have restarted Safari, my computer, and still no change. Any idea on what's going on? Thanks!

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
You're not alone. Others, especially with early MacBooks, have reported slower Safari performance after updating to OS X 10.6.8. and Safari 5.1
Using any popular search engine with the terms "mac os x 10.6.8 slow internet" will reveal dozens of similar complaints.
I did too with my mid-2007 MacBook, similar to yours, except I have 4GB RAM (3 GB usable). After a few days of 'spinning beachball' I restored my system to OS X 10.6.7 and internet performance returned to what I remembered.

    in console - no errors
any page won't load in safari, just a white screen and loading progress..
    What should I do?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

  • Safari won't open a page

    Hey!

    Anyone knows a solution? : )
