Safari won't open Mac Mail when I click mailto: links

When I click mailto: links, Safari opens entourage. When I deleted entourage and then clicked a mailto: link, I got an error message that said:
Safari can’t open “mailto:jen(@)gothamist.com” because Mac OS X doesn’t recognize Internet addresses starting with “mailto:”.
I am using Safari version 1.3.2

In Mail, navigate to its preferences from the 'Mail' menu and ensure that Mail is set as the 'Default Email Reader' under the 'General' section.

• I've stuck with Entourage way too long. Now I don't dare install the Mavericks OS because all my Entourage files will go away. And my iMac won't open Mac Mail (probably because I've never opened it in the 5 - 6 years I've owned the Mac.) Any suggestions?

If you are wondering why you are not getting any responses, it is because you have vented a complaint without any details that make any sense or give anyone something to work on.
If you want help, I suggest actually detailing what has happened, with versions of software etc. Anything that would let us assist.
As a start I am guessing that you have not really got the hang of "How it all works". Firstly download the Pages09_UserGuide.pdf from under the Help menu. Read that and view the Video Tutorials in the same place. A good addition would be the iWork 09 Missing manual book and something to help you learn how to use your Mac.
If there are specific tasks you need help with:

Is a good resource.

• My ipod won't open the apps when i click on them?

My ipod won't open the apps when i click on them, i've restarted my ipod multiple of time, closed everything that's open, and they are still not working, but i get the notifications through, please help!

Try downloading and installing another free app from the App Store. This has resolved the issue for a number of users. Otherwise, you may need to try and restore your iPod from a previous backup via iTunes.

• Safari won't open AOL mail

I recentlly updated to Safari 4. It will not open AOL from my bookmark.
It will open AOL if I type in the address, but will not open my mail.
I get the following error message:
Safari can’t open the page.
Too many redirects occurred trying to open “http://my.screenname.aol.com/_cqr/login/login.psp?sitedomain=sns.webmail.aol.com &lang=en&locale=us&authLev=0&siteState=ver%3a4%7crt%3aSTANDARD%7cac%3aWS%7cat%3a SNS%7cld%3awebmail.aol.com%7cuv%3aAOL%7clc%3aen-us%7cmt%3aAOL%7csnt%3aScreenName &offerId=mail-second-en-us&seamless=rc”. This might occur if you open a page that is redirected to open another page which then is redirected to open the original page.
I saw this same problem on another question and the answer said something about disabeling Develope. I need help with this. Thank you.

Well, what I meant was -- what is the company that provides your internet access? Examples would be Comcast, Verizon, Cox, AOL, Earthlink, Frontier, etc. If you've been paying AOL, then they are your ISP (Internet Service Provider).
What do you mean here?
something got changed in my Mac by accident when I cleaned it out.
I haven't found issues with AOL and Safari 6. See if you can contact AOL for help, OK?

• My safari won't open (Mac)

I downloaded something by accident, but moved it to my trash can. Ever since then, when I try and open Safari, the little light under the ap says its open but it isn't. When I right click the Safari in my dock, at the top it says "Application Not Responding". I tried restarting my computer, and even turning it off for hours and it still won't open. It freezez and at the top of the safari toolbar, there is the spinning rainbow wheel not allowing me to select anything from the toolbar.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

• Won't open new page when I click bookmark, instead changes pages EVEN THO PREFERENCES SET TO OPEN NEW PAGES

Firefox keeps on changing pages, even yanking minimized pages back onto the screen and changing them, even though I have Firefox preferences set to always open new pages to accommodate links on a page or bookmarks.
I don't want Firefox to tamper with any pages, period. If I have a pages minimized, no way should Firefox be yanking that page up back onto the screen because it's "too lazy" to open up a new page to accommodate a bookmark or link clicked on.
It's extremely aggravating to click a link on a page, get a new page then, when I click the page to close it I find no page underneath, indicating that Firefox had changed the original page rather than open up a new page automatically to accommodate the link, etc.
What's the point of me in Firefox preferences setting it up for Firefox to open up new pages automatically when afterwards it doesn't?

Perhaps try the add-on Tab Mix Plus. It has a feature that you can force every link to open in a new tab if you like:
* http://tmp.garyr.net/help/#Links (description of options - see "Force to open in new tab")
* https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/tab-mix-plus/ (install page)
I don't know whether it has any effect on bookmarks. You can open those in a new window by holding Shift or in a new tab by holding Ctrl when clicking.

• Firefox won't open new tabs when I click, also he doesn't open new tabs when I use CTRL+T. Any solutions?

When I want to open a new tab, firefox doesn't do it. The problem is the same when I use CTRL+T. So I can't open any new tabs.
Nothing seems to work: restart the pc, closing firefox,...

Uninstall the '''''Ask Toolbar'''''. It can cause that problem.

• The Interface Builder won't open in Xcode when I click on MainMenu.xib

I have recently installed Xcode and have been trying to make very simple applications. The youtube videos that I have watched all show someone click the MainMenu.xib file and the Interface Builder opens. I have tried to do this and nothing opens. I am able to open the Interface builder manually but then the application that I make isn't linked and doesn't work.

• Firefox won't open new windows when I click "File" and "New Window". can you help me?

My question is just as it reads above. My computer is windows 7. I've never run into this before.

This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

• I updated software on my computer, now Safari won't open

I updated software this morning on my computer. Just did it automatically and didn't pay attention to what was being updated. Looks like Safari was one of the apps. Now, Safari won't open, mac Mail won't open, not even my Skype will open.
It must have something to do with the new dumb**** screwups with the switchover to "mobileme". I have OS 10.4.11.
I'm able to use Firefox.
On www.me.com I can't access my mail, but I can access my account information.

I deleted the .plist file, but Safari will still not open. What next?
*Hi h'c', Welcome (Back)* to Apple's Users Help Users Forums.
I sounds like you tried a Safari restart. I don't know what it takes to generate a new .plist. Might try log out and back in or restart computer.
Might try reapply the 10.4.11 combo updater—sometimes miraculous results.

• I would like to find out how I can setup my Mac Air to allow me to have an email template open up in Outlook instead of Mail when I click on an email address on a website.

Can anyone help me with setting up my Mac Air, to allow me to have an email template open up in Outlook instead of Mail when I click on an email address on a website?

All the limits you mention 100 e-mails at a time and 500 in a four hour time frame are limitations imposed by your mail provider, not Thunderbird. Thunderbird places no restrictions on the maximum number of recipients.
Have you tried turning your computer off for a few minutes?
