Safe charger for a zen?

Hello everyone,
So far my zen 6 gig has been great! But I was wondering I have a charger A macally model number IP-A4. I used to use it on my sansa e250 before that bit the dust. It says the input is 00-240v AC. The output is 5v DC. Is this safe or will it fry my battery or decrease it's lifespan. Any input will be greatly appreciated.

I agree. I also uses other charger that does work with my Zen with same specs in charging the battery. It will not fry yoru battery. As long as you are charging within the time limit and not overcharging the unit so much, I guess you are doing ok. Sometimes its just the Ampheres and voltage that needs to be considered in chargers and these needs to be compatible with you LiIon batteries in yoru zen.

External Charger For the Zen Mic

will there be an external charger for the Zen Micro? So you can always have a juiced up battery ready and willing to go? =)

I think it's a huge inefficiency to require that the player be out of commission during the battery charging.
An optional external charger would remedy this problem and would make having a second battery the seamless way to have constant connectivity.
As it stands, you can't use the player for 3+ hours while it's charging.
These proprietary batteries that are only chargeable via Creative products are confining and non-user-friendly.
An optional external charger would make this player much more usable.
PS - otherwise - I LOVE IT!!!

Charger for creative zen jukebox 40

Hi guys...my charger cable for creative zen got caught up in a door and got nipped and is now not working, i know it is this as i've used a friends charger and it charges ok,Where can i get a charger in the UK any advice would be great

Which Jukebox do you have? Zen Xtra 40GB or Zen Touch 40GB?

Wall charger for zen v p

can anyone tell me how long it will take to charge a 4gb zen v plus using the creative charger for the zen plz?

External charger for Zen Micro batt

I just got my new Zen Micro and so far it is the best looking mp3 player I have seen but I just hope (knock on wood) tha is doesn't run into any of the issues posted. The one thing that I thought was the best feature about the Zen Micro is that I can remove the battery from the unit but to really make it usefull I should be able to have one battery in the Zen MIcro while the other is charging. This way I can have non stop tunes. Is there an external battery charger for the Zen battery?
Also, how do I know if I have an older unit that had all the problems with the headphone jacks?
One more question, when I try to pause I sometimes have to pres the pause/play button two or three times. I have the touch pad setting to medium. Should I start to worry or is this normal.

There's no external charger. The low volume of sales will likely make it a high cost item, so Creative have presumably decided it's not worth it. If you really want you can always buy another player I'm guessing this won't be far off the likely cost of an external charger. There are some third party Lithium Ion chargers out there, but you need to have a special plate designed for the battery terminals. You'll have to Google to find them as I don't have the link to hand.
I find with pause that sometimes there's a delayed response, as if the player is busy. Wait a few seconds and try again, rather than say mashing the controls

I dont want to buy an AC charger for my Zen (video and mp3 player) but I do have my AC charger for my Zen Micro. Is it ok to use the Micro's charger on my Zen?

USB charger for Zen xt

Is there a USB-port charger for the zen xtra? That'd sure be nice.

Its a pitty, considering the importance of having power connected during transfer it would be very useful indeed, but I would imagine that the strain USB ports powersupply would be to great and the unit would not charge during tranfer and possibly cause damage to the unit or the PC, most PCs only supply 500mA through there usb ports. thats just not enough.

Charger for Zen 8Gb Pla

I have an old AC charger that worked with my Zen Micro 5Gb player. Will I be able to use this same charger with my new Zen 8Gb player. I don't have the new player yet, I just ordered it.

Should work fine, I use my old Micro charger for my Zen 6gb without any problems.

Generic Charger for Zen Micro Ph

Has anyone ever used a generic power charger for their Zen MicroPhoto Just rec'd one and
wanted to make sure it was ok to use. Thanks.

I've used both a Motorola RAZR v3 charger, and that for a Typhoon HTC (both mobile phones).
Make sure you use at least the ..0 firmware, and you might need to lock the player before connecting (although I haven't needed to).

Zen Stone Plus won't charge for more than 10 min

When I charge my zen stone plus, withint 5-0 mins it will be full, as indicated by both Creative Mediasource lite as well a the blinking blue led.
But once I turn on th eplayer i am shown with only 2 bars of battery and within 5 minutes of use I am down to one bar.
What's going on?
Resetting the player doesn't seem to work at all!
I haven't even had a chance to properly use it at all >

Me 2... I bought 2 Zen stone plus and the two wont charge for long too... I leave it for 4hrs and still the battery bar is only one bar full. Hai~~sad... And to make things worse, one of them the volume button is faulty. Anyway does anyone of u haf creative support hotline?

i bought a wall charger from amazon for my Zen Vision: M 30GB, will it work with the (New)Zen? i just bought the Zen 6 GB and it doesn't comes with an adapter, pretty bad move there, well, does it has the same plug? i hope it's compatible. thanks

That third party adapter from your Amazon link is hard wired specifically for the Vision:M and will not work with any other Creative player unless it has the same pin-outs using the same docking interface. The Creative AC-5V adapters will either have a coaxial power plug connection that will work with most of the Creative hard disk based players, except for the original NJB and Zen Micro, or a USB Mini-B plug that will work with all of the flash players that have a USB connection and the Zen Micro.

HELP ! Need help with the MyZenChecker. (Zen Vision:M isn't charging for first ti

I bought a Zen Vision : M some days ago. It won't charge. I?have WinXP,Service Pack and WMP0. I got GOOD on everything on MyZenChecker. I use the USB at the back. I've also tried with a USB charger which I put into the wall, but that didn't work either. I tried fix2, but I didn't get everything on how to get it work.
I download it. Double click the .bat file. It comes a black route. It's written that it was succesful. Then after that what should I do in details, please ?
I tried to restart the computer right after getting successful on the .bat file with the Zen connected. Nothing happens after I turn it on again. No blue light or anything. The computer can't detect it. Am i supposed to connect the Zen after restart ? Should it come a blue light right after restart or should I let charge for 5+ hours without the blue light and then connect it again to get blue light.
Please tell me what to do in details step by step. Thx

you shd connect it and reboot your PC. the myzenusb.bat is to amend your open up your USB permission. no blue LED light flashing means its not charging. I suggest you exchange this with your retailer since you just bought it

Creative's one, which I would recommend.
Otherwise you need to find a charger that can deli'ver 5V at .5A minimum rated current, which are a little hard to find. Sometimes PDA chargers will offer this, but I bought a 3rd party charger that was supposed to be sufficiently rated and it didn't work.
