Safe to leave phone (turned off) in multimedia dock for several days?
If my Droid X is turned off and I do not need to use it (literally do not need to turn it on) for several days, is it okay to leave it in the multimedia desktop dock (or whatever it is called)?
Similarly, is it okay to leave it plugged in to the wall charger?
I believe that some of these devices, if not the phone itself, are designed to slow down the charge as the battery comes closer to full charge, and then to turn off charging until the battery charge goes down (either do to use or lack of use over time), in which case it starts charging again, but only a little if it is near a full charge. I doubt that charging through the USB cable has this effect (unless it is built into the phone or the motodrivers that the phone autoinstalls on the computer the first time you connect it with a USB cable for any reason).
So are any or all of these 3 things safe to leave connected when my Droid X is turned off for several days on a full charge: 1) multimedia desk dock, 2) wall charger, and/or 3) USB cable?
Yes, once you'r phone reaches 100% charge it will stop charging. The problem is that if it is turned off, it will not automatically start charging again, it will need to either be turned on, or unplugged and plugged back in. However, since you have a new battery, a phone turned off will not drain your battery much even over an extended period of time such as a week.

Wine, were you charging over the USB Connection or AC Power? We've found in our organization that at times not enough power is generated over USB to recharge it in situations like this...I quote from the email of a fellow technician that i just received today...
I’ve had a couple of users up here bring their iPhones to me so dead that the phone was unresponsive, no matter what we did. One thing that many people do not realize is that the iPhone (iOS devices in general) have power management in them. The power management appears to be set up so that the device will not power on at all until the battery is at a certain minimum level. If the user will plug the device into the power adapter, not a USB port on a computer (laptops especially), and leave it for about an hour, maybe longer, the device will come back to life.
The reason I say they have to use the power adapter is because the USB port is not high enough power to bring the charge up fast enough for the battery to come back out of “hibernation”.
Each time I have had the users do the power adapter plug in, and leave it for a couple of hours, the devices have come back to life

If you followed the instructions in the support article exactly (leaving the machine off for two minutes), then it has a hardware fault. Take it to an Apple Store or other authorized service provider for repair.

Phone turns off when playing music in tunnel
If I'm listening to music on the train (commuting to/from work) and it enters a tunnel (about 200 yards long), my phone turns off.
If I'm not listening to music and go through the same tunnel, I lose signal briefly but the phone stays on.

It shouldn't erase any of your data, but you may want to remove the SD card first to be on the safe side.
If you have to do a factory reset, be sure to back up all of your data first because you will lose everything. -

Sounds like a hardware failure.
Make an appointment at the genius bar and take it in for them to look at. It will probably need to be replaced. -

Doing those doesn't turn off your phone?
As stated hold down the top button only until you see the red slider to power off your phone.
If that doesn't work then take it to Apple and see what they say. -

Even if it is a hardware problem they should fix it regardless of warranty. If you buy a car and after 1.5 years the doors fall off due to a failure in their design and construction, do you think the car manufacturer could pull off what Apple is trying to do? Yes the car still delivers its primary objective of driving from A to B, but significant functionality has been lost due to their fault.
It is the same with this iPhone wifi problem. Apple are a disgrace, I have had significant Apple Hardware failures with my MacBook Pro and iPhone within 2 years of purchase. Pathetic quality. -

MY phone turned off while texting battery at 72%. I tried turning it on but screen stays black.
First, try to reset the phone by pressing the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back. You will not lose data by resetting.

I'm sorry your phone won't turn on jessesealey! I'm sure this is beyond frustrating. Do you know what function was used just before powering off? (text, email, internet, etc.) Has the phone been dropped or wet at all? Even steam/mist? I know a Hard Reset is an inconvenience, so you can try charging for 3-4 hours and try powering back on. My phone crashed and has an icon showing a usb cable and the itunes emblem. when I connect to itunes it does not recognize my phone and treats it as just iphone. when I try to restore about 9 to 10 minutes into the restore the phone turns off and then on and then loses the connection with itunes and at the end of the download it just asks me to restore it again.
Be prepared to lose everything on your iPhone but it should be backed up in iTunes so you can restore from your backup.
