Safety stock error

Hi Experts,
Pls check the below screen shot of planning book, the issue is related to safety stock.I have maintained safety sock method AT,service level,Demand Fcast Err&RLT Fcast Error and run safety stock planning but system didn't create any stock . Can anyone help to know the reason for it?
Best Regards,
Vijesh.

Hi,
I can not see the screenshot. AT is an extended safety stock method. It needs the uncertainties in the supply chain are statistically independent from one another. AT is using alpha service level and reorder cycle methods. The alpha service level is event driven. Crucial here is the number of periods in which no shortfall quantities are expected. For example, if there is a service level of 90%, no shortfall quantities are expected in 90% of the periods. In the reorder cycle method, it is indicated that purchase orders can only be made for all t periods.

Sweth, you are asking for consulting, and in my opinion it is way beyond what can or should be reasonable to achieve in such a forum. You are asking complex questions, that most probable have more than one possible answer.
I suggest that you get on-site help from a knowledgeable and experienced consultant. These are crucial business issues, and should be dealt seriously.

  • Delivery Against safety stock

    Hi All experts,
In my REM buisness scenarion, I want to deliver the quantity from safety stock for sales order. I did setting for MRP group :- Share saety stock 100% and assigned this MRP group to finish product. But delivery takes place but picking quantity is not coming as per the sales order quantity. Thats why delivery is not taking place for sales order quantity.
How to solve this issue? is there any setting in MM or SD side?

  • Static Vs Dynamic Safety stock

    Hello Gurus
I want to know the following
    1. Whats a Dynamic Safety Stock ?
    2. The basic difference between  Static Vs Dynamic Safety Stock
3.In which business scenario do we use a Dynamic & in which cases Static safety stock -

    Dear Raja,
There are two types of availability checks
    1) Availability Check for stock types in Inventory Management (Static Availability Check):
This check takes only the existing stock at the time of entry into account. This check is carried out automatically & no setting can be made for it in the system .It covers the relevant stock affected at the plant, storage location & special stocks level. The stock affected is determined via the movement type.
Ex: If you enter transfer posting with mvt 321 for 20 nos from Quality to unrestricted the system checks whether 20 nos.are actually available in Quality stock
    2) Check of available stocks from the view point of MRP (Dynamic availability check):
In this case in addition to stock physically available in warehouse, here planned receipt & issues can also be taken into account. This check enables you to prevent an already reserved quantity from being withdrawn or reserved for another purpose.
For Ex; Today we have a stock of 100 nos. 25 pieces are reserved for withdrawal tomorrow & another 25 nos are reserved for day after tomorrow which means only 50 pieces are available today. If you try to create another reservation of 60 nos today system will give warning or error message.
Hope this will clear your concept

  • Safety Stock Value

    Hi all,
I am using the BAPI - '<b>BAPI_PBSRVAPS_GETDETAIL2</b>' to get <b>Safety</b> <b>Stock</b> Value. I am passing the key figure as '<b>SAFTY</b>'. But I am getting an error as 'An error occurred in data selection'.
What might be the reason for this?
    Thanks and Regards.

Create a new KF for Safety Stock Stock as a permanent object and add it in the planning area administration
Remember to Change the macros associated with this Key Figutre. There is a macro that does the macro calcultion for Safety Stock
There would be other macros as well which use Safety as a basis

  • Safety Stock Planning not completing - /n/SAPAPO/MSDP_SB T-Code

While running Safety Stock Planning (/n/SAPAPO/MSDP_SB transaction) in SCM for products at a particular location, the system hangs and never completes the process.  The message at the bottom is u201CDetermining Demand Information: <location> <product>u201D.  This process works fine when running on any product at another location.
In order to avoid the above infinite/endless loops, in the Safety Stock Planning Profile, the checkbox for Execute Cycle Test was selected.   While this did resolve the endless loop that the program was running, it now results in an error.. Now, it gives an error message "Cycle found for product <product> at location <location>".
Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

    Hi,
Thanks for the reply....it was really helpful.
We verified T-Lanes by using t-code WUF. There was transportation lane between location 6000 and location 6010 and vice -versa with all products selected. So, we put a block on all products on one T-Lane.
    Thanks.

  • Approval hierarchy to issue Minimum safety stock

    Hi Guys,
We have a requirement to have an automated approval hierarchy for issuing the inventory below a safety stock limit defined. How can we achieve that. I know that there is some option as "minimum safety stock" in SAP, but we need that a workfklow to be activated when the stock reaches to this level and only after approval it should be allowd to be issued. Is it possible to implement?

    Hi,
There is no approval concept in this case. But you may check the below work around, Activate availability check for the material. Then you may maintain the message  M7181 as user specific and maintain it as error message for the users who are NOT supposed to issue the goods below the safety stock. Refer the thread: message to be make error for specific user id
You may create a program to find the materials with stock equal to safety stock and send the result. You may schedule the job in background with specific interval.  Also refer the thread: Material alert workflow

  • What is Formula for 'BS' Method of Extended Safety Stock Planning ?

    Hello SNP Experts,
I have a Important Question regarding Extended Safety Stock Planning Calculation in SNP Module.
I have read the SCM Help, SDN Forums and SNP Training Course help, but am unable to find the Formula to Calculate Safety Stocks using the Beta Service Level (Method 'BS') for the Extended Safety Stock Planning Methods.
Reading the help, training material, past SDN Questions I do understand the Standard Formula for Safety Stock is ...
    S.S  = ServiceLevel x SQRT (ReplLeadTime) x StdDevDemand
However there are Factors like below that are definable in the Location-Product Master ...
    1.  Forecast Error %
    2.  Replenishement Lead Time Error %
    3.  Min & Max Safety Stock Levels
    4.  Beta Service Level
    5.  Max. Stock Level
How are these Factors used ? What is the Formula using these Parameters to Calculate the Safety Stock ? The Calculation in SCM-APO is not clear from anywhere.
I am specifically interested in the Method "BS".
Can anyone Guide me ?  Points Guaranteed if a reply covers the exact question above (I have done some research before raising this question on Forum).
    Regards,
    Ambrish Mathur

    Harish,
I'd seen these forums already.  Thanks for responding.
This 'secretive' calculation is quite annoying.  If SAP does not Publish any documentation around the Formula, how can the Customer be convinced to use SAP's Safety Stock Calculations (no wonder many SAP Customers are going the 'ToolsGroup' way of Safety Stock Calculations).
On Safety Factor (I saw in your notes) I am aware that
a factor of 2.33 equates to 98.6% service Level from long back based on Normal Distribution.  The Formula as known much earlier is this ...
SS = SafetyFact x SQRT (RepLeadTime) x StdDevDemand.
    based on Normal Distribution.
However there are new Fields in APO since ...
Is there no documentation whatsoever on how the 2 Fields -  1. Forecast Error %
    2. Replenishement Lead Time Error %
are used at all in the SS Calculation ?
Where do these New MasterData Parameters Plug-in ?
The other change now is in SS Planning, the SSs could be different for each Time Bucket in Future.  How does Beta Service Level also impact the Calculation ?
Is there a URL / Book someone can point me to ?
    Regards,
    Ambrish

  • Safety Stock Upload

We are using a third party system to calculate SS. Is there a way to upload SS into Oracle EBS?
I did a metalink search and found that there is no API for the same. Need opinions in creating a custom program. Let me know your suggestions.

    Hi Anand,
I personally feel that MM17 is the easiest way to do it.
    1) Go to MM17
    2) Go to tab Fields
    3) Find the filed MARC-EISBE which is your safety stock
    4) Select the line
    5) Execute
    6) If the records to be changed then choose the first tab on the screen Data records to be changed
    7) Input materail and plant and press enter
    8) Execute
    9) You would get the old values of the records, enter any value in the new value column for time being and press carry out mass change button. Later on change the respecitve correct values in the list below.
    10) Save.
If now you want to go create the new records. Select the second tab. And take care that all the m=andatory field are also entered beside the field you want to create. For an example to create new record with the safety stock system would certainly ask for the planning type, which atleast should be given. Otherwise system would throw an error.
In case in any concern revert back,

  • Report for Reorder point, safety stock, current stock and fixed lot size

    Hi,
Purchasing Dept. is looking for a report which can give list of materials falling below the reorder point, so that they can go ahead and create procurement proposals for those materials.
They also want to see the Reorder Point, Safety Stock, current stock and fixed lot size in the same report.
Let me know if there ia any standard report availbale which displays the same or any approach to get the same.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Shankar Goud.

    Hi,
There is no standard report because this is meant to be managed by the MRP run.
The MRP lists show all materials that have a problem (such as stock below reorderpoint) but MRP generates requirements for these anyway and so all you need to do is to look for the MRP generated requirements (requisitions?) and you have your list?
    Are you using MRP?
If so then please use the standard functions in MRP to get this.
    If not, then WHY NOT?

  • Report on current stock and safety stock

    Hi,
I want to have the report on current stock and safety stock.
In MC.9 it gives wrong safety stock. When I go to cross check the safety stock in material master & in MC.9 I see differences.
    Thanks,
    Kiran

You can user tcode MC.9 or MC.5 to know valuated stock available at given plant. Stock lying in Returns (MB52) will not be a part of this report as it non-valuated stock.
The stock in the accounting view of the material master considers stock at plant level including stock in Transit (Intra & Inter plant stock trasnfers) & special stock like stock issued to vendor , consigment stock etc which is valuated at plant level.
whereas and stock in the plant stock view of the material master does not consider such special stocks hence there will always difference in both veiws.
For Physical stock as on particular date you can consider MB5B report with radio button "Storage location/Batch Stock" wherein you will get Quantity issued & Qunatity received in those SLOC along with Opening stock & Closing stock for the specified period.
    use tcode
MBLB to know stock at vendor.
    MB54 - Consignment Stock.

  • Safety stock not covered by schedule lines in planning run

    Hi !
In our organization we are trying to implement scheduling agreements and automatic creation of delivery schedule lines through MRP. We have MRP type PD and it considers the reservations created by PM orders and Production orders as requirement elements. When I do the planning run, it creates schedule lines for the PM order reservations and purchase requisition for safety stock. I need it to create schedule lines for all scenarios. Kindly help and suggest a solution.

    Hi,
Execute t-code se16, then enter MARC table and press enter. Enter list of materials or plants or this can be run without any selection parameter.
Execute it and look for field EISBE (Safety stock).
