Safety Stock field/table in ASCP Horizontal Plan?

Hello,
I need to get the safety stock data that is seen from the ASCP's Horizontal Plan. Whiat table and field is it? Can't find it from MSC_DEMANDS and MSC_SUPPLIES. Thanks

Hello,
in an ASCP plan safety stock results/output is always populated in MSC_SAFTEY_STOCKS and not in MSC_DEMANDS.
MSC_DEMANDS is populated for SS only in IO Plans
safety stock demands can be seen in msc_demands with origination_type = 31

    Hi,
As a consultant i am able to change the Safety stock field in MRP view in the test system and Production also, but for the user this particular field is in display mode wheras other field in the MRP view user is able to change.
Kindly help me if,there is any settings for the same.
    Regards,
    Prashant

    Hi Prashant,
    Have you checked if there is any configuration made to lock same fields on material master? Follow the below path please;
Logistics u2013 General ==> Material Master ==> Field Selection ==> Define Lock-Relevant Fields
May be someone defined some fields as u201Clock-relevantu201D in customizing and during creation or changing of material master he/she set this indicator. You are able to change those fields because you may have SAP_ALL authorization whereas others may not.

  • ASCP Horizontal Plan - Snapshot data

    Hi All,
We're planning to generate report based on Rolling Gross requirements as per (snapshot data on ASCP workbench).
The Rolling Gross Requirements need to be shown for 12 weeks or 12 months as part of report.
This is very challenging requirement, Can you please help me find (Any data points) how Oracle is currently retrieving snapshot dara for horizontal plan?
We need to display (gross requirements) report data for 12 weeks (bucket) and 12 months (buckets) by each demand (Beginning on hand, purchase orders, requisitions, In Transit, In Receiving).
I've reviewed package (MSC_HORIZONTAL_PLAN_SC) but It doesn't help me much in (understanding/getting) snapshot data.
In MSC_HORIZONTAL_PLAN_SC package, there is a cursor (MRP_SNAPSHOT_ACTIVITY).
The snapshot can be viewed on ASCP workbench in R12.1.3 with following steps
    1. Advanced Supply Chain Planner (ASCP) super user Responsibility
    2. Nav: Supply Chain Plan -> Workbench
    3. Select a Plan
    4. Go to Supply/Demand
    5. Select a record (Criteria:Supplier; Condition: equals ; From: <Supplier_Name>) and click Find button
    6. Right-click -> Horizontal Plan
    7. For each item, Rows shows [sales orders, Forecast, Dependent demand, Gross Requirements, Work orders, Purchase orders] and columns show [weekly and daily dates]
Appreciate your help, Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Kal

  • MRP - project stock - safety stock

    Hello,
My MRP plans on a project stock.
When I try to fill in the field "safety stock" in material master data MRP plans the safety amount on unrestricted use stock. I would like it to be planned on a specified project.
Do you know how to do it?
    Best regards

    Hi,
procurement for safety stcok will always happen wo ac assignment. So you may have look for use of some other parameters like lot sizing or minimum lot size fields etc.

  • Max stock level as safety stock from material master while running SNP Heuristic

    Hi Experts,
Our user wants to consider max stock level as safety stock from material master while running SNP Heuristic, not the actual safety stock.
Is there any possibility for this setup?
    --Kishore

    Hi Kishore,
With the given details I suggest that the user can maintain the max stock level values directly in safety stock field of the material master for all materials to be planned by SNP heuristic (keeping the max stock level field blank). Then this safety stock field (which has actually the max stock level values) will update the safety stock values in APO product master and in turn can be considered for SNP heuristic.
Note: The max stock level field in APO product master is used by SNP heuristic only when the target stock level method is maintained as 4, 5 or 6. Since your requirement is to use max stock level as safety stock, so it does not look like that you will be using these target stock level methods or the max stock level field in R/3 and APO. So, this can be left as blank in both R/3 and APO.
Please let me know if this helps.

  • Safety Stock Calculation Setups

    Hi,
    Question 1:_
I created a buy item with the safety stock details as below
    Method : MRP Planned %
    Bucket days : 2
    Percent : 100
Also i enabled the MSO: Default Timestamp Safety Stocks to End of Day (23:59).After running the collection plan (Targeted Refresh) my msc_system_items table looks as below
    SAFETY_STOCK_CODE : 1
    SAFETY_STOCK_BUCKET_DAYS : Nill
    SAFETY_STOCK_PERCENT : Nill
and then msc_safety_stocks is also empty.
Please help me to solve the issue.
    Question 2:*
what setups should i do to create the safety stock in my plan other than checking the calculate safety stock in plan option.Aslo what plan should i run (constrained or unconstrained)???
Note : we done have inventory optimization installed.

    Hi Sandeep,
I tried the generating safety stock.I succeeded too..Thanks for the help. But i need your help again for the analysis.
I created a Buy item and i havent mentioned a LT for it.
    For safety stock calculation,i mentioned
safety stock Buket days : 2
    safety stock percentage : 100
Forecast was 100qty every day from 4/May to 9/May ..
    Output was as below
    29/Apr/2012 Forecast = 0 Saf.Stock = 76
    30/Apr/2012 Forecast =300 Saf.Stock = 100
    5/May/2012 Forecast =300 Saf.Stock = 73
    14/May/2012 Forecast = 0 Saf.Stock = 24
    As per the calculation
    ( 200/2) * 100% = 100 qty which is matching the qty in 30/Apr bucket.
I need to know how was the other buckets got calculated.

  • Safety stock, forecasting doubts

Can anyone guide me on my doubts,
    1) Safety stock : While describing safety stock in oracle, we are mentioning date and quantity. Take a example - item = xyz, Date = 01 Jan 2012, Qty = 10. is it means that 01 Jan 2011 onward, stock level of item xyz should be atleast 10. If it is less that 10 after 10 Jan, then suggest planned order from ASCP.. ?
2.1) I can see that we can manually mention safety stock, system will calculate safety stock. In case of manual, xyz item attribute should be 'Not MRP" Planned. I can mention item, date and qty for in safety stock form.
2.2) In case of system to calculate Safety stock, I have mentioned attribute value as " MRP planned", mentioned safety stock days as well. Here I have created a forecast and ran "Reload safety stocks" with method as "User defined %" with forecast created for SS calculation. Now I can see corresponding newly created SS in system.
Now I have ran data collection with calculate safety stock = Yes, and after than launched plan as well. But I am not able to see both type of safety stock in ASCP workbench. I will say, I am not able to see any safety stock demand in workbench in any one of organization. Like to inform you that while doing collection, I have selected all organizations which are enabled and also same was selected while launching plan.. so whats wrong and so not able to see any safety stock demand in system.
    3) Forecasting: I can put forecasting at component instead of products level ( ie finished good). Now suppose, I have kept forecasting at component level, means I have mentioned component item, qty and due date in forecast form. Now ASCP will consider this as demand and drive material, may suggest planned order. Now same time, I have booked a SO, having a products, which requires that forecasted component to do assembly. As there is demand against forecast and demand for SO, will drive material and this will be duplication. So netting of forecast is must, which we can do through forecast consumption. Now in my scenario, I have mentioned forecast for child in forecast and SO is booked against finished item. Now my question is - is there any provision for component level consumption based on finished good SO.. ?
Let me know if anyone needs more clarity on above case,
    Thanks and Regards,
    Dipak

Thanks Partha your help. Following solution is working on MRP, but it seems that not working on ASCP. I am pasting process here, Here V is long LT item.
    1) Define a planning bill forecast, consider FC00. This contains aggregated demand of V against a particular date.
    2) We will explode forecast from FC00 to FC01, where you can see forecast against component of ‘planning bill item’ along with Qty and date. Qty will be derived from planning percentage mentioned in planning bill.
    3) In order to convert these forecast demand in purchase order, we have to use a plan.. say ‘Small Plan’. Purpose of this plan is to consider ‘Forecast FC01’ only as demand ( ie do not consider any SO, On-hand etc for calculation ), and create a supply by release planned order. Here needs to run collection and also needs to mention demand schedule as ‘FC01’ in plan parameter.
    4) Now all planned order as per forecast will be released and converted either requisition / PO. This may be firm / non firm.
    5) Now define another Master plan, ( in order case, this plan will be global plan) which consider all supply and all demand sources. But ensure that we will not mention FC00 / FC01 forecast in this plan demand schedule. This plan will consider PO / requisition supply created via ‘Small Plan’, and will peg to actual SO. This will not peg to FC 01 as we have not attached this forecast to master plan demand schedule.
    6) Now if SO dependent demand of V is less than PO qty, then master plan will suggest to raise PO vice versa it will suggest to cancel / re-schedule in –out. We can filter such suggestion by exception / action / supplier name etc. So we will NOT do cancellation / reschedule out, but we will do re-schedule in if possible. This will ensure that we will have enough supply of V irrespective of SO demand.
From above, we can use planning bill as input for long LT items planning and output will purchase order in advance of SO, also consumption ( indirectly) of forecast can happen. If we will mention ‘include past due forecast = 0’ in planning parameter, then automatically past forecast will be excluded from planning. In addition, we can use master plan ‘supply-demand’ workbecnch output for monitering SO demand trend with forecast entry done by planner.
Now am checking on ASCP and believe that it will work in ASCP as well.
    Thanks for support ,

  • Safety Stock Not Being Released To Cover New Sales Orders Or Forecast

    Hi,
Does anyone know of a way to get safety stock at the lower levels of the BOM to get released for upper level sales order or forecast demand without having to adjust the effectively out to a future date?
    Example:
A = Finish goods item with two weeks lead time
B= component of A and it has two weeks lead time
C= component of B and has 10 weeks lead time.
Have safety stock hard coded with an effective date of today for 100,000 units.
I have 100,000 in inventory and I have planned orders to cover all my demands and future safety stock requirements for the next ten weeks.
I receive a new sales order for 50,000 units with a customer request date five weeks out.
I am getting ATP dates to assign to the new sales order 14 weeks out versus allowing me to use 50,000 units from the safety stock to schedule in week five?
Even If I schedule the sales order for five weeks, because I have gone down two levels to confirm that I have safety stock, and It could be used, planned orders would not get generated at the next two levels, because the demand date on the safety stock is earlier than the demand date for the new order?
Is there any resolution that anyone has found that addresses this issue?
We have set a demand priority rule on the ASCP plan options tab to "Sales Order Priority" where we have set criteria for number one to "Sales Orders & MDS Entries Priority" and number two to "Schedule Date".
We have found that adjusting the supply and demand dates out to cover the full 14 week period does reduce the safety stock at the lower levels, but it also creates additional starts and inventory to be put into the line, which makes this approach not feasible.
Does anyone have any solutions to this problem? We do not build safety stock for the sake of building safety stock. We want it to be used for any sales order or forecast demand that comes within the planning horizon.
    Appreciate any inputs.
    Regards,
    Dave

    Hi Dave,
Try this note suggestion, possibly help you in resolving your issue.
How to Avoid Getting Safety Stock Replenishment Too Early in an ASCP Plan [ID 301629.1]
In order to line up the safety stock supply with the changes in safety stock, a combination of the profiles must be used:
MSC: Use FIFO Pegging as yes
    and the plan option
Peg Supplies by Demand Priority is checked.
The profile MSC: Use FIFO Pegging as yes will perform the following:
For all demands and supplies, it proceeds item by item and
pegs supplies to demands on a daily basis. Daily supplies
and demands are not sorted. When supplies or demands
on a given date are used up, it picks from supplies or
demands on the next date. The unpegged supplies are
    pegged to excess.
The peg supplies by demand priority combined with the profile above will prevent the system to plan ahead for safety stock.
Also no safety stock smoothing is setup.
To implement the solution, please execute the following steps:
    1. Please set the profile:
MSC: Use FIFO Pegging as yes and
    2. Under the plan settings in the main tab the set the following options:
    Enable Pegging ON
Peg Supplies by Demand Priority ON

  • Horizontal Plan Suggestions and Calculations

    Hi,
I am facing an issue in understanding the ASCP Horizontal Plan calculations for EBS ver 12.1.3.
I have made 1 FG Item, 1 RM Item and BOM of FG with component requirement 1 for 1 FG Item. Entered the Forecast of FG = 100 bucket type days.
Made 1 resource allocated to single department and on routing available 24 Hrs without shifts with usage 1 and assigned units 1. Means 24 units can be made in 24 hrs.
Now when i am launching the Resource constraint plan with no supplier constraint and wit no lead times option, the planner work bench is suggesting me batches with quantity 22 for 3 days and 21 for 1 day than 13 for 1 day. In horizontal plan the available hours are 24 but required hours shown are 22.
Can any one tell me on what basis the suggested Qty for Job is 22 or 21 though the available resource hours are 24. I am also perplexed in understanding the calculations of Horizontal Plan for the following Available Hours, Required Hours, Net Hours Available, Capacity Load Ratio for current day and for the proceeding days.
Also the Suggested Dates and Times shown are confusing.

  • Automatic reorder point and safety stock caluclation- MRP type:V2

    Hi,
I want the system to calculate reorder point and safety stock. To simulate this i created one material with
    MRP type:V2, service level as 97%, Forecast model:D,Hist. period:12,Forecast periods:12, and I entered
the historical value for past 12 months as 100 nos in material master.

    03.2009     100
    02.2009     100

Then I went to MP30 and executed the forcase. When I checkd the material master the system has calculated the reorder point as 14 nos. But there is no value updated in safety stock field.
    Now I have two questions.
    1) How the system has arrived the reorder point value as 14 nos.
    2) Why there is no safety stock updated in material master.
    Could u please clarify this.

  • ASCP horizontal view "Graph options"

My client needs the option to use a "Stacked" bar graph to show all item quantities that can be used to meet a model based demand. This would allow the horizontal view to sum up all supply and demand by model while the stacked bar graph would show separate item quantities that can meet the demand for the model. e.g; We have demand for model A. Item # 1, 2, & 3 can be used to meet the demand. I need to see Total supply for Model A. Horizontal view would sum up Items 1, 2 & 3. The stacked bar graph would indicate by color the qty of each item.
However, we only have choices to select a single axis bar graph or a line graph. Is there a way to add a multi axis "stacked" bar graph option? Thanks!
    Kind regards,
    Scott

    Scott -
Out of the box the option to use a "Stacked" bar graph within the ASCP horizontal plan is not possible. Multiple items / orgs may be selected from the Planner's Workbench Navigator by holding down "Shift" or "Ctrl" while selecting the individual items. Here is the Navigation: Advanced Supply Chain Planner > Supply Chain Plan > Workbench > View By > Items > Expand Plans > Expand Plan > Expand Category > Hold down "Shift" or "Ctrl" and select multiple Items (or Expand the Item and hold down "Shift" or "Ctrl" and select multiple Organizations.)
The graph will show the default configuration however multiple rows can be dynamically added to the graph by holding down "Shift" or "Ctrl" and select multiple rows. The rows won't be "stacked" but they will be side-by-side.
    Cheers,
    Armstrong

  • MRP Not considering Safety stock

    Hello
We have settings as 1000 for safety stock . if the stock went below 1000 , MRP is not pulling the stock for the confirmation of the Production order. we checked the safety stock indicator in the Availability check for the Prod order confirmation . What ever the stock are available ( only unrestricted stock we want to consider for the availability check )
    Any suggestion please.
    Thanks
    JJ

    Hi,
When your stock level goes below the Safety stock, then MRP will trigger a planned order to maintain the planned order. In your availability scope of check, if you checked the safety stock, the system will allow to consume the safety stock by posting the goods issue, if the tick is not there, it will not post the goods issue, saying insufficient stock is there.

  • MRP Planned % Safety Stock Not Generating Supply in R12 ASCP

Playing with MRP Planned Safety Stock in an unconstrained plan. See safety stock in the horizontal plan. See safety stock in the pegging tree. Yet this type of safety stock is not generating any supply recommendations. However with "regular fixed quantity" safety stock the plan is. Thanks in advance.

    Hi
If I understand your qn correctly., user defined SS is working and MRP planned % is not. Have you setup MRP planned % such that you gave the SS method., bucket days and % for the item attributes?
Also make sure that you have demand for the item since it looks at your demand in future, adds up demand within the bucket days and applies the % .
    Thnx
