I have to send my 3Gs in for a repair; what will they look at?

I must send my new 3GS in for repair. Because my screen is frozen with the Apple log, I cannot clear history or cookies or anything like that. I am an adult and I do like to look at photos using "Yahoo Images" or occasionally to read adult literature. I have never, ever accessed anything considered exploitive but I do know that I have been directed to sites that are a paid site or require a flash player or whatever and I do not access those (I back out). I did click on some anime just to see what it was but I have no interest in such material as it does look like suspiciously close to child **** to me. Will the tech support be interested in what I have on my phone? I also frequently post questions to Yahoo Answers of a personal nature.

You need to take your MacBook Pro to your Apple store genius bar and check that they will do the upgrade for you...price for 4 GB memory used to be $200 but you will have to check with them for the current cost.
You can also check with OWC, http://www.macsales.com and see what their cost is and decide if you want to do it yourself. Cost will be about half of that at the Apple store.

Have you actually been charged? Did you convert from MobileMe? If so, you'll be automatically put on that plan, but revert to the free one when your current one expires.

Right now, there is no way to upload and access photos in iCloud. You need to import them to a computer if you want to be able to retrieve them later:

If BW system is down for several hours, what will be the status of the Jobs

Hello Gurus,
   I don't know where i should post this issues! anyways .....! i need some information. One of our BW production system will be down for about 12 hours tomarrow to move it on to new hardware and this current system has lots of scheduled jobs with run daily and hourly..! so my question is ..what will be the status of this jobs which fall in between this down time?
     as per our basis team information....they said that all these jobs will be queued up and when once the system is online ...these jobs will access all the avalable processess and if this thing happen....! then the system will have a VERY BAD performance and user cannot use this BW system...they cannot even open the bex analyzer.
      so...i thought of deleting these queued jobs. can any one tell me WILL THESE JOBS WILL BE SCHEDULED FOR NEXT DAY??? OR IS THERE ANY OTHER WHY TO CONTROL THIS SITUATION?? our process chains are locked for modification..so, we cannot even re-schedule them in prod system.....
         aaaaaah! can any one HELPP MEEEEE@

Hi,
when you'll restart you SAP system all jobs will be displayed with a delay since they didn't run during your downtime.
And that's true that they will be queued and fired as soon as a system resource will be available. That means a lot of paralel processes with system overload and usually subsequent errors in loading data.
As per suggested already, the best would be to shift the scheduling.
Another option is to execute the report BTCTRNS1 before shutting the system down. This will change all background job status to a "suspended" mode.
when your system is up again you will be able to release (or reschedule or cancel or any other action) single jobs in a controlled manner.
When you've finished with this task then don't forget to run BTCTRNS2 in order to enable background jobs to be executed.

I don't have a receipt for my Macbook Pro - will Apple Care cover me?

I bought my Macbook Pro from someone who no longer had the receipt. It is the Dec 2011 model. I registered it and called Apple yesterday for help because the unit wouldn't charge. The guy told me about the Apple Care protection plan. I explained I didn't have a receipt and he said it was fine... when he had entered the serial number he could see the unit was registered to me. So I purchased the warranty.
This morning I received an email with confirmation of the purchase and letting me know that I would need my original receipt for the Macbook Pro if I needed it serviced. Anyone know which one it is?

I had my old macbook serviced a while back and I didn't have the receipt with me.
But because it was registered to me and my info on my Apple ID matches my stuff, they took it in for service without my receipt.
I guess it's up to whoever you deal with at the Apple Store when you need servicing. It is however, best to have your receipt. If all you have is the Apple Care receipt, use that one, since they sold it to you and it corresponds to you MBP's serial number.

It will get very cold and somewhat wet, neither of which is good for it. Don't put it in the fridge.

The SIM Lock is stored on the Apple Activation Server - if it has been correctly unlocked by a network then this would have been done on the Activation Server.
When you get your replacement handset through Apple they mirror the activation server details of your existing handset and the current SIM LOCK status is mirror'd onto the new device.

No offense but how is Apple responsible for people who scratch up their iPod? I don't own one single thing that can NOT be scratched. NOTHING. Every single thing can be scratched, gouged, or maimed. Just the other day I took a healthy chunk of paint off of my car with the key to my car, quite by accident. Is Honda careless? Hardly. If you don't want to scratch up your iPod take precautions. That's what photographers do when they buy an expensive lens. It's what Palm owners do when they buy an expensive unit. I took my iPod right out of the box and put a screen protector on it (I had some leftover from previous Palms I've owned) and my iPod can't be scratch easily (but it could still be scratched). Apple wouldn't have anything to do with whether or not it got scratched after it's out of the box.
If you opened up the box and it was scratched in the box (mine wasn't) that would be one thing but if YOU have used it and it got scratched - YOU scratched it.
A little personal accountability would go a long way here.

You'll need just a good ftp client. You'll publish the site to a folder on the desktop and upload the contents of that folder (another site folder and an index.html file) to your server. One of the most recommended ftp clients is the free CyberDuck. Another good one is Transmit.
