Safrai has a virus

My safari is running very slow and at times will not open many webbpages. I think I might have a virus. Is there any way to check for a virus?

You don't have a virus.
If Safari is getting very slow:
(Presumably you regularly empty your Safari cache by deleting the following file:
Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/cache.db
and clear your History)
Adding Open DNS codes to your Network Preferences, should give good results in terms of speed-up* as well as added security, (including anti-phishing and redirects) (Full information about Open DNS is here:   http://www.opendns.com/home-solutions and here:  http://www.opendns.com/technology/opendns-vs-google-public-dns/ )
and further independent information can be read here:
http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-57338784-263/free-dnscrypt-tool-enhances-ma c-web-security/?tag=mncol;txt
and here:
http://www.macworld.com/article/1146064/troubleshootdns.html?t=234
* as confirmed by: http://lifehacker.com/5835775/google-dns-and-opendns-users-are-getting-a-web-spe ed-boost
and Apple:
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3408?viewlocale=en_US
but results may vary depending on where you are located.
If you are using a single computer: Open System Preferences/Network. Double click on your connection type, or select it in the drop-down menu, and in the box marked 'DNS Servers' add the following two numbers:
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
(You can also enter them if you click on Advanced and then DNS)
Sometimes reversing the order of the DNS numbers can be beneficial in cases where there is a long delay before web pages start to load, and then suddenly load at normal speed:
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2296
If your computer is part of a network:please refer to this page: http://www.opendns.com/start/best_practices/#your_network and follow the advice given.
If you use a Router, make sure it has the latest firmware installed.
One reason for a slowness in page loading may be the 'DNS Pre-fetching' feature of Safari 5.x onwards as is described here:
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3408?viewlocale=en_US
You can cancel DNS pre-fetching by going to Terminal and typing:
defaults write com.apple.safari WebKitDNSPrefetchingEnabled -boolean false
You have to restart Safari for it to take effect.
If Safari seems to hang for ages:
If you have a lot of tabs open and/or a lot of pages running Flash, Safari can sometimes 'hang', requiring a restart of Safari. This can often be inconvenient, and as it is rarely Safari itself that is hanging but merely one of its plug-ins, usually Flash, there is a way using Terminal to restart the plug-ins (without restarting Safari and losing your tabs) by quitting the WebPluginHost process:
Open the Terminal from the Utilities folder in /Applications and type
killall -9 WebKitPluginHost
Note that this command kills all Safari plug-ins, not just Flash. All plug-ins should start back up when you reload the page.
Then go back to Safari and refresh any pages that were using the Flash plug-in. This also fixes the Beachball of Death. Try this whenever Safari gets slow or freezes. The later versions of Flash 10.1 onwards appear to have improved the situation somewhat, but haven't completed eliminated it.
For this and other reasons Apple switched their websites to HTML5 in January 2011:

I guess I will need to reinstall itunes again - but if I do this will, I lose all the music that I have bought or imported into my library? How do I reinstall my library/playlists to the new itunes?

Make a backup of your media and other important files.
Just to be safe, make a backup of your entire iTunes directory.
Restore computer or do whatever it is you need to do.
Restore your media and other important documents.
    Install iTunes.
Try using search next time... this gets asked way too frequently.

  • My pc has a virus I just downloaded song from pc to kids ipods now both ipods are not working correctly could the virus be in the ipods,  if not why are both not working doing the same thing right after unplugging from pc.

Can an ipod get a virus from a pc that has a virus.  After connecting two different ipods to my pc to download music they both are not working correctly, could the virus have transferred to the ipod,  if not why would both ipods not work and be doing the same thing?  When trying to click on a game it just stays on the main screen.

    - I have not heard of a virus that can cause problem with an iDvice that has not been jailbroken.
    - Try resetting the iPods. nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Do you hve problems with one game? The same game on both iPods?
    Other apps?

  • My mac book air has a virus which is creating a lot of issues...how do i get rid of it? is there a free software to detect it and remove it?

my mac book air has a virus which is creating a lot of issues...how do i get rid of it? is there a free software to detect it and remove it?

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
You may have installed one or more of the common types of ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it. It's been reported that some variants of the "VSearch" malware block access to the page. If that happens, start in safe mode by holding down the shift key at the startup chime, then try again.
Back up all data before making any changes.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, ask for further instructions.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. It may have come from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
Malware is also found on websites that traffic in pirated content such as video. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere  should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
    or
Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)
    if it's not already checked.

How do I know if my apple has a virus? How do I check?

What makes you ask? Are you having a problem that you believe is due to some kind of malware? If so, what is that problem? Describe the symptoms in detail... they're probably not due to malware, so knowing what is going on is important.
If you're just curious about protecting yourself against malware, see my Mac Malware Guide.

Last night, I saw my iPhone on the table in front of me and twice it made phone calls on its own.  I just watched it make the outgoing call as it sat in front of me.  Should I think that it has a virus? What should I do about it?
Also, it's been a little quirky lately: slow to respond to key pad touching and making it impossible to delete Apps?
Should I try wiping it and restoring it to factory settings?
    Thank you.
    Ben

    It isn't a virus.
I would try the Restore from backup first and if that does not help try a Restore as a new iPhone.

I have a jailbroked iphone, and it seems that it has some viruses how can I remove them from my iphone?

You have viruses because you jailbroke your phone, and now you're probably spreading them to other phones. Nice.
Jailbroken phones are generally bricked for good. Throw it away, it's junk.

  • My computer has a virus , is it safe to use iTunes?

    hello
I want to do backup for my iPhone , but my computer has a virus ,is it safe to use iTunes or not ?

Yes, it is. For maximum security, uninstall and reinstall iTunes before proceeding, and make a separate backup to the iCloud.

  • How can i tell if my iphone4 has a virus?

How can I find out if my iphone 4s has a virus?

That's a website redirect, that interfered temporarily with your iPhone.  Doesn't mean there's a virus.  Don't visit that website anymore.
As far as what jailbroken is, that's when you use a third-party procedure to make an unauthorized modification to the device's operating system.  Don't do that for any reason.  It voids your warranty & support from Apple, and it opens the door to actual malware.

  • How can i tell if my iMac has a virus

My 8 year old son was told he could watch a film for free i he visited a site called put locker. when he did this, safari opened lots of pop ups to say Contact Apple Support malicious activity.  How do i check if my iMac now has a virus?

It's not a virus, and there is no reason to download anything. It's a Web scam that only affects your browser, and only temporarily. There are several ways to recover.
    1. Some of those scam pages can be dismissed very easily. Press the key combination command-W to close the tab or window. A huge box will pop up. Press the return key and both the box and the page will close. If that doesn't happen, continue.
    2. Press and hold command-W. You may hear repeating alert sounds. While holding the keys, click the OK button in the popup. A different popup may appear, which you can cancel out of as usual.
    3. From the Safari menu bar, select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
and uncheck the box marked Enable JavaScript. Leave the preferences dialog open.
Close the malicious window or tab.
Re-enable JavaScript and close the preferences dialog.
    4. If the Preferences menu item is grayed out, quit Safari. Force quit if necessary. Relaunch it by holding down the shift key and clicking its icon in the Dock. None of the windows and tabs will reopen.
After closing the malicious page, from the menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
to get rid of any cookies or other data left by the server. Open your Downloads folder and delete anything you don't recognize.

  • My computer has a virus how do i get it off

i downloaded a third part soft wear the other day , and now my computer has a virus. someone help get it off!

Describe the symptoms, not your diagnosis of the cause.
A virus is unlikely, and pursuing an "anti-virus" cure for it is almost certain to cause lost time, money, data, general abject misery or all the above.

I opened a spam e-mail, I think my phone has a virus how do I get it off? HELP!

It was an email about a video I posted on youtube. It said "the video you posted under your account has been approved and posted. Click link to see the video" but I didn't post any video so I clicked the link on my phone and it took me to a page that was not youtube so I immediately closed the window went to my settings and deleted cookies and history. Later I tried to login to one of my banking app and it kept saying loading for about 5 min before I exited the app then tried again and then it wouldn't even let me log in.

  • My laptop has a virus, how can i get rid of it?

My laptop has a virus on it and its called AntiVirus 360. I looked up on google what it is and its a virus that disguises itself as a program to help detect viruses when itself is the virus. I've tried many different programs to try and delete it off my computer but nothing seems to work. I also read that sometimes this virus can appear to have been deleted but then when you reboot the computer it re-installs itself. How can I get rid of it completely and permenantly? I have a friend that works at Best Buy and he said you guys could repair it but it costs about $200. I didn't know if there was anything else I could try that you know of. Please help because it keeps messing with my internet pages and is making my computer slower than it should be.
    Thank you for your time!

Stuff like that is better known as "spyware/malware" - There are categories of malware not consider viruses (although often they are installed by a virus as a larger payload).
I would suggest trying Malwarebytes.  If Malwarebytes can't fix it, your best bet is probably to nuke and repave.  (i.e. backup your data files and then reinstall Windows and all applications from scratch.)
*disclaimer* I am not now, nor have I ever been, an employee of Best Buy, Geek Squad, nor of any of their affiliate, parent, or subsidiary companies.
