Saga of Samsung fridge RB1955VQ with bottom freezer

My saga with the Samsung fridge had a happy ending!
Would You believe it? I wouldn't!
Upon the seventh (yep: 7 th!) visit, Best Buy finally managed to fix the problem!
Here is what happened:
On the sunday after Thanksgiving, my Samsung fridge RB1955VQ broke down (bought in 2004).
The bottom freezer was working OK, but the upper fridge was not and the display showed 4-61 (instead of 4-38) and sometimes even 4-71.
The Best Buy Geek squad came into action:
- visit # 1: service technician looked at what is wrong - Display = 4-61. Spare parts were ordered.
- visit # 2: tech replaced the temperature sensor + fan motor - still not working, display= 4-61
- visit # 3: tech rechecked wiring of the replaced parts
- visit # 4: two tech came (one with more experience) to take a look
- visit # 5: new mother board was installed - fridge would work only for 2-3 minutes and then turns off.
             Display still showed 4-61!
- visit # 6: tech came again - to check wiring and connections. More spare parts were ordered.
- visit # 7: tech replaced the switch + display board. Display= 4-41 at first, and after running one
             hour later, 4-38 showed up! Magic! The fridge now works again correctly (as of Feb-20)
The parts that were finally replaced were: 1) the door switch (that controls the light when the door is opened or closed),and 2) the small display board ( temperature display for the upper and lower fridge). (This board was buit inside the front door).
Thank You to Best Buy and in particular its Geek Squad members from the Baltimore, MD area.
The spare parts were replaced free or charge, by the way. I was issued a refund fro the parts.
So, would I buy again from Best Buy?
Definitely YES, their support was friendly, persistent and in the end successful (but I sure wish their service people would be better trained).
Would I buy another Samsung fridge? This is a different matter. I would research the Internet and user opinions first, and also compare to other more etablished brands with a longer service record. This particular model was known to freeze some food in the fridge side (upper part) and to have some water/ice forms under the vegetable drawers.

Two years later, a random, hopeless e9105z PC from Hewlett Packard with continual freezes.

I posted a message over a year ago with no luck, and wanted to see if a second posting would give any advice.
In short, my PC freezes randomly, with no predictability or triggering events. The only thing that happens is the system locks up, the mouse pointer is frozen on the screen, and the system is essential unuseable. All I can do is a hard power down.
Over the 100+ freezes I've had, here are some odd things that have happened:
(1) Around 30% of the time, pressing F8 to run system diagnostics fixes the problem. When I run system diagnostics, 90% of the time, the system comes back perfectly clean.
(2) Of the times that systems diagnostics has been run, here are the errors that have been found:
--several times, it warned me that my Western Digital 640GB HDD was about to fail
--two times, it warned me that I had no boot path
--two times, it warned me that my Intel X-25M SSD was on the fritz
(3) Sometimes I can turn back on and be okay, other times, I have gotten something to the extent of 'boot sector missing, press Ctrl-Alt-Del to reset'
(4) system has been unplugged/replugged several times, motherboard dusted off, SATA connectors unplugged/replugged, etc.
(5) the system sometimes will fully boot up in Safe Mode, other times it just freezes up during the initialization. when it does hang in Safe Mode, it does not get hung up on the same file twice.
(6) For Windows Update, the NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA Controller June 2009 driver update crashes my system. I have to do a system restore. This update is hidden/disabled in the Windows Update profile
Recently the freezes are happening once every 1-3 minutes every time I turn on. They used to go once every 2 months, then maybe once every 2 weeks. Tonight, oddly enough, my computer has worked for over an hour without problem.
HP's tech support has been useless. It seems like they are more or less following a flow chart that has little applicability to this situation. Telling me that my printer and Microsoft keyboard were the problems. (Really? Am I that stupid?) They succeeded in gringing me down over the phone. And besides, I'm out of warranty.
Is this most likely a bad motherboard, or an NVIDIA chipset bug, or a Windows 7 compatibility issue? I have no idea where to start (or end) in this problem.
My configuration:
Win7 clean install
6GB memory (Stock)
Phenom II X4 945 (stock)
Intel X-25M primary/boot
Western Digital 640GB HDD (stock)
Microsoft mouse
Microsoft keyboard
A printer that is hooked up about 30% of the time (Lexmark X8350 POS)

I am having a similar issue with random freezes/hangs as many posts with my Pavilion Elite m9350f that I bought a year ago or so. I have automatic update turned on and have gone to HP and MSFT sites to ensure all drivers/software are current. I have also attempted to clear the fan and heat sinks of lint.
This has been a chronic issue since the PC was new that has good days and bad. On good days I will not see a crash at all. Bad days, the PC will randomly hang every 5 minutes or so EVEN when cold, while in BIOS setup, and operating in safe mode. The software applications I use don’t seem to be relevant (they are limited to Office Pro 2010 and StarCraft II). The typical “crash” is a hang that freezes the display and all user I/O. USB ports will often power down (laser mouse light will often turn off as does PS2 keyboard). I also don’t hear the buzz of the hard drive (it appears to spin down). I do hear the fans even after a hang. A power cycle is needed to reboot and bring the PC back online.
The ‘crashes” seem to corrupt data on the HD. As a workaround to fixing this issue, I reinstalled/repaired Vista several times because as time from install increased, it seemed bad days became more prevalent. Then, three months ago, because the PC crashed too hard to reload/repair vista, I installed Windows 7 and replaced the hard drive. When I attempted to attach the faulty hard drive as a secondary drive, my PC would not boot (faulty drive was confirmed?).
Now with the new OS and HD, I am seeing the same problem again. Like you I am running out of ideas. I took the PC in for troubleshooting with the GeekSquad where they kept it for a week (three days longer than planned) to run several virus scans and hardware diagnosis programs. All test passed. The tech claimed to not duplicate a crash so I thought maybe it was my keyboard and mouse. I bought new keyboard and mouse on the way out of the shop. When I got home, the hangs continued…another bad day. The event log recorded several crashes while the PC was in the shop…I hate being told lies.
My PC Event viewer logs close to 50,000 events most of which mean absolutely nothing to me. I am unable to find events that appear prior to the 41 and 6008 recovery error notices that might signal a cause. However, I am getting many instances of Event ID 12 with indicates “The platform firmware has corrupted memory across the previous system power transition. Please check for updated firmware for your system.” I assume this means to look for an update to motherboard BIOS? I am working on finding the right BIOS now. I don’t believe it likely a BIOS update will fix the hang issue.
Reading through the forums, I see this issue on many different PC models configured with many variants of software. Like you I don’t have my PC working correctly yet. Maybe we just need to accept that we bought a lemon and start replacing parts? I’m thinking power supply and motherboard…

I have Windows 7 and just recently experienced a problem with itunes freezing up when I clicked on the "apps" tab. Everything else seems to work okay in itunes. I have uninstalled it and reloaded it 4 or 5 times, but still freezes up.

Everything else in the itunes software seems to be working okay. The problem is in the part where you sync the newly purchased apps. The apps will all be blank that are downloaded and that part of the software crashes itunes or freezes up. I can get out of itunes okay after the freeze up, but it just stops me from syncing anything that I have newly added. If anyone has had this problem before or knows someone that has, please let me know how I can fix it. I have uninstalled and reloaded itunes 4 or 5 times, but the problem is still there. I might add that I have been using itunes and purchasing apps for 2 to 3 years without any problems. HELP.

If firefox automatically updates my computer past 3.6 I'm inundated with Script Freezes..how do I stop new automatic updates?

Everytime I'm automatically updated past 3.6 my computer is inundated with Script Freezes..especially on the email page of gmail.
This has happened many many times. As far as I can determine these Script Freezes (Says: A script is attempting to write on this page.."Continue"..Stop Script etc) are coming from Internet Explorer (I'm not sure of this) and it's tricky to delete any elements of Internet Explorer. But at any rate my computer freezes up until the Script problem is settled..I check the don't ask me again block..but it does no good.
My real question is: Since things work fine in 3.6...how can I avoid any automatic updates?
Also, why isn't there a Timer Window (or a timer bar)for Firefox?...sometimes I have to wait 5 minutes for it to load! If there was a timer at least I'd know that something is happening and I'd be willing to wait. When it does take forever to load..it seems to help if I delete all Prefetch and temporary files.
Is there a safe way of turning off Internet Explorer temporarily?

Click Firefox > Options > Options > Advanced ... then Uncheck the option "Use hardware acceleration when available"

I continually have problems with Firefox freezing when I try to play Farmville or on Pinterest. Have tried suggested fixes.

I have an HP laptop; windows 7; core i7; wireless. I have been having problems for several months with Firefox freezing or not responding when I try to play farmville or add pins on Pinterest. I un-installed Firefox and re-installed ; went thru the fixes for the plug-in etc. I don't know what else to tell you, but I am not very computer literate.

Photoshop and monitor profile (Samsung SyncMaster 244T with EyeOne Display 2)

I've just calibrated my Samsung SyncMaster 244T with EyeOne Display 2 and
created a monitor profile. Should I use it as the Photoshop working color
space now?

So my monitor profile is just for the OS, and photoshop should use either sRGB or Adobe RGB, or whatever color space specific to the output destination. So, say, if I plan to edit some files for a video slide show that I'm making using ProShow Producer I should edit those files in one of the NTSC color spaces and save that profile with the files. I used to just leave them in sRGB and saw some weird color results watching those slide shows on TV. If you can't access the App Store from the Apple menu, Dock, or Applications folder installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo will reinstall the App Store for you.
It's ok to do this even you are already running v10.6.8.

FYI: Some third party software can cause issues with the App Store > Mac App Store: Sign in sheet does not appear, or does not accept typed text

Problems with hangs, freezing, apps quitting - OSX 10.5.5 Server

HELP!
Have just taken delivery of a brand new MacPro 3.2GHZ with 10GB RAM and 4TB storage which we are running as a server.
Installed 10.5.4 Server from the disc as an erase and install, got everything setup and running over the weekend and then installed the updates via Software update.
Have been having problems with apps freezing up (Adobe updater and Mail) when I click on the dock to Force Quit the dock freezes too and I have to do a forced shutdown with the power button.
As of today I am now also having problems with Acrobat 8 Pro shutting itself down after about 10 seconds. Here is the Console log:

Well as has been said above Apple supposedly knows there is a problem and some fix is on way, but til then all the workarounds -- even complete restore of OS, files and such from scratch in one case I read have not helped me or others, at best they seem temporary. Something with 10.5.5 and iTunes (other apps?) is a amiss. My Mac book with same files OS and such does not have this problem so go figure?

Just a note on all this, this thread has quieted last few days. My machine has also and settled down to almost normal. No updates so not sure why, but then I have not been running much videos in iTunes 8.01 and such (just audios) Store works fine for me also.
I have done only one thing suggested amongst many. I have all but stopped using the trackwheel on my microsoft bluetooth mouse as this was one suggested problem (I have no clue why it would even be). I have noticed that one evening when I started doing the trackwheel though the spinning ball came back. So what this has to do with 10.5.5, ITunes 8.01 and all I am not sure. Still hopping for update that completely eliminates though. Since apple does admit a problem.

URGENT! 3GS with ios4 freezing in mail!

My 3 gs with ios4 freezes up in mail after idle for a few minutes. The scree just goes white. Is there anyone else experiencing this?
I have to reboot the phone to get it to work again.

hi i had similar problems with my fone at the time i was with yahoo & for some reason it did'nt seem to like it, so i deleted it & changed to google, so that now i have yahoo for all the rubbish emails which i keep on my computer, 7 have google for all my important emails.
