Sales order based production orders GR restrictions

Hi,
i work mostly on sales order based planning and
I manufacture many sub assemblies and consume it to manufacture a finished product.that mean i have many sum assemby production orders and finally i create the production order for the sales order line item and produce it and do GR for the production order and sell the material.
My requirement is that i want to control the GR of the header material production order if any sub assembly production orders has not yet been GR.
but i am not interested in using colletive order concept.
please suggest how to control that as many of the users are not doing GR for the sub assemblies and doing GR for the saleable material and selling the material.

Dear,
Avevalbility check depends on 2 things
checking rule and checking group
Checking rule is maintained for each function like production order it is PP and SD order it is A.
Checking group is maintained for a material code and plant combination in MRP3 view.
The combination of Checking rule and checking group will decide which stock, receipt element and issue elements have to be considered for avealability check.
Checking  rule is assigned at order type. You can have different checking group for assembly and sub assembly and can have different rule.
Even you can go for different order type for finished material, and all subassembly you can have different order type. In Assembly order you can make setting so that if material is shortage existis release is abondended.
come back if required
You have many options

  • How to select another BOM in Planned Order Based Production Order

    Dear PP GURUS / EXPERTS,
I am using following Scenario: I have alternate BOM for FG and Maintaining Finished Material with Production Version in MRP4.
Now, When I run the Forecast based Planning (MP30) and go for Single Item  Multi-Level MRP Run  (MD02 & MD04)  it takes 1st Alternate BOM.
Now, I create the Planned Order Based Production Order (CO40), but due to some reason - WE WANT TO CHANGE THE BOM. instead of 1st BOM We want to use another BOM For Production.
    How can we achieve this.
    Please Help. THANKS IN ADVANCE.
    DSC

WE WANT TO CHANGE THE BOM. instead of 1st BOM We want to use another BOM For Production
create  two production version ( PV)and assign the 1PV 1st  BOm and 2 PV 2nd BOM
System will create a Plan order for PV 1
IF you want you can change the Production version 1 to Production version 2  in Planned order itself ( in MD11)
Or reread the master data for production order by selecting PV 2

  • In  sale sorder based production order can i consume unrestirced stock

    HI,
i am creating Production order using co08 with respect to sales order.the
( bom items)components to be cosumend for that production order should be sales order stock compulsory.
if i want to consume against sales order how can i consume stock which does not have sales order assignment. i think only through 231 movement type.
if there any possibe pls sugggest
    regards
    madan mohan

    Hi madan,
Other than the way of converting the unrestricted stock to the sale order stock which is the normal course of working, you can also consume the unrestricted stock to the production order which has a assignment to the sale order by manually changing the assigment of the material  to blank in the production order components.  If you enter into the production order components u will be able to see a column called "Spec procurement" where in by default it will be '1' if the production order is w.r.t a sale order.  you have to remove that and make it blank.  then proceed with material availability check, if the unrestricted stock is avl for the material / storage location then the same will be commited to the production order.

  • Sales order and Production order status

    Hi Colleagues,
We need to use sales order status functionality, so that when sales manager set status , for example, "dont produce" a production order can not be released.
Has any one dealt with that?
    Thank you.

    Dear,
You can give the reason for cancellation  of Sales Order item & block the sales order. When the sales order will get block it will get disappear from MD04 so in next MRP run if there is any planned order it will get deleted. But suppose by that time you had converted the Planned order in Production Order you will get Exception message no. 20 in MD04 list. So this means that there is no requirement & order should be cancel.
Still you want to have restriction of checking the Sales order is open or not, then i hope you are working in MTO scenario & every production order is created w.r.t SO. You can use following Exit in such case.
    PPCO0021 Enhancement for Order Release
    Exit - EXIT_SAPLCOZR_003.

  • Delevery(Sales invoice) against Production Order

    Dear  All
In COOIS report can we check the Sales  according to Production order.
Within a month  can we check the booked sales of that particular order. (Not 1 by 1)
    It should be commulative.
    Rgds
    Pankaj Agarwal

    Pankaj,
You cannot see these informations in one report
i.e. sales order qty/delivered qty/production order target qty/GR qty/WIP qty. input being sales order creation date.
You need to refer to sales order VA05 to get sales order for a perticular month.
take this sales orders ifrom this report(click on the column and CONTROL C)
    goto COOIS
in the sales order field, click multiple selection icon click on the green button(import from text file)
you will get import from local file screen, you click on "upload from clip board" icon...you will get the sasles orders and then you can get the details of thoses production orders for the saales order in that month.

  • Assign batch number from sale order to production order automatic

Dear all, I have a question for all. Please help me in this case
My scenario is make to order
I have a sale order, when i create sale order, i have assigned batch number at each line item.
When i run MRP for sale order (MD50), the system generate a planned order for it and I've converted to production order.
So when I view production order, I think that batch number what I've assigned to sale order will be assign to production order but that is not happen.
So, can you help me solve this problem. I think that sap can assign batch number from sale order to production order automatic but i don't know how to configure that
    Thanks all

    Hi,
To the best of my knowledge, when system is generating planned order / production order from sales order system doesnt copy batch number from sales order.
In fact , you are following wrong practice for generating batch no.
    Follow procedure like this :
Create sales order without any batch assigning there. Run MRP with MD50 and then convert planned order to Production Order.
While creation / releasing of Production order, you have option to generate batch automatically by following way :
Go to OPKP (Production Scheduling Profile) -> Take your plant & give suitable name to Production scheduling profile-> Batch Management tab -
    > Automatic Batch creation in the order maintain this field as
1     Automatic batch creation at order creation
    or
2     Autom. batch creation at order release
This will generate batch number automatically at the time of creation or release of order.
Then follow same process i.e. Goods Issue, Confirmation & GR for production order.
So you will get sales order stock in the form of batch managed.
Check & revert if any issue in above flow.

  • Rescheduling Sales Order vs Production Order (Components)

    Hi gurus,
Transaction V_RA rescheduling sales order with different filters.
We need a transaction similar to V_RA that rescheduling sales order and production order (for availability check of components). Does it exist??
I will reward points to all answers!
    Thank you!

    Daniel,
It all depends on the business policy of each client. In our case, it was decided that in case Production orders and Sales orders compete for the same material, we will give priority to sales orders. Hence, we changed the timings of the nightly jobs. The backorder job was run first, so that stock was committed there first. Balance if any could go to Prod orders.
But again, that depends on the strategy of your company.

    Hi,
In MTO we need to transfer addition information from sales order to production order, such as OUTER DIAMETER and INNER DIAMETER of the product.
    Regards,
    Ahmed

    Hi Ahmed,
Specific information from sales order in MTO process if you want to pass onto the production order then as suggested by expert production memo can be used.
    Follow below steps.
Select the item in the sales order and  Goto -> Item -> Text as displayed below
Create a production memo by specifying the language key as displayed below.
Once you create production order against the sales order - In production order you can see the text maintained. CO02-Menu Bar - Header -Production Memo

  • Overhead rate maintained sales order aswellas production order

    Hi Guru,s
My Client using overhead rates in a particular costsheet for SD and PP.The overhead rate maintained a particular profit center.these particular profit center maintained sales order aswellas production order. In this case we need to calculate costing for sales order only for this profit center not production order.Any setting required to ovecome this problem.Could you plz help on this regards,
    Thanks&Regards,
    Prakash.

    Hi,
There is no specific setting is reqd. If u want to calculate the overheads for production, then u need to define the base % and the overhead key. But in sales order you need to maintain the condition type. This will take care of your reqmt.

  • Purchase order vs planned order vs process order vs production order

    Hi,
Kinldy explain difference between the  Purchase order,  planned order,  process order and production order?
    Thanks & Regards
    Ravi kumar

    Hi Ravi,
    In simple terms:
planned order - A procurement proposal generated by the system to meet a need, this can then be converted to a production / process order (for internal procurement) or into a purchase reqn & in-turn to Purchase order (for external procurement)
Purchase order - A firmed procurement proposal which is sent to your vendor (external procurement) to supply the items as per your order
process order - A firmed procurment proposal which is used for in-house procurement, this is used in process industries eg: chemicals, oil & gas etc
production order - A firmed procurment proposal which is used for in-house procurement, this is used in discrete production industries
Based on the above am quite sure you should be able to figure out the differenced. If any doubts revert.

    Vivek
