Sales org. - plant assignment

Hii,
what is the reason to assign plant to sales organization when all sales references can be made against sales organization and how are the logically related?

Hi,
Plant is assigned to the combination of |Sales Organisation and \distribution Channel, which we call as the Sales Line.
The reasons are:
1. When goods is sold by a Sales Organisation, at the time of Delivering goods we require a Delivering Plant.
2. Shipping Point can not be assigned to the Plant unless & untill the above assignment is done.
3. In case of multiple plants and sales areas under one company code, this assignment helps to distinguish that which Sales Organisation is responsible for the selling of goods from a particular plant
4. This assignment is usefull at the time of crosscompany sales and stock transfers.

Extending material master for different sales org/plant combination

hi ,
1 ) a material can be sold from one plant by many sales organisations. so we map this scenario in enterprise structure by the config step "assign sales org--dist channel--
plant ". (let's say sales org A and B selling from plant 1 and also sales org A selling from plant 2)
when we have defined the above config step, then why we need to have material master extended for different combination of sales org and plant as in stpe 1 ?. we can just create one material master with one plant and sales org combination and based on config as in step one, we can sell material from any sales org from a plant ?
2) we can extend material master for any combination of sales org/plant .....is it also possible to extend material master to different storage locations !

There are several reasons why you should extend the materails to different sales organizations and plants.
a. The materials are normally valuated at the plant level. So, you can have different valuations at different plants.
b. You can have different quantity stored in different plants. How do you know which plant has what quantity.
c. You can have materail not to be sold from one plant, but you can have the same materail sold from the other, how do you block it? at the plant and materail combination, you can do it.
d. For different sales organizations, you may want the cost and the price to be posted to different GL accounts. You can control it at sales org level of the materail.
e. You may just want the material to be purchased but not sold, then you may not even create a sales org view for the material. But say, in future you will like to only purchase a materail from a plant and consume it for some other purpose but not sales (which u did previously), then you can block it at sales org and dbr level.
So, these are a few reasons. But there could be many. You can have a look at the fields in the material master at sales org level and plant level and you can find it for yourself howmany parameters are there to control...

Free Goods determination -acess sequence sales org/ plant/material

I am trying to determine the free goods by choosing the key combination as Sales org/plant/material.
The system is not determineing the free qty ,instead when i maintain the condition record with customer/Material key combination ,then the system is determineing the free qty.
I also tried to put acess Sequence Sales org/plant/material above the Acess sequence customer/Material,but still the system not detrmineing the free qty in the order.
can any one pl gide me how to solve this issue.

Hi
Go to the access sequence where Sales org/Plant/Material are maintained as condition table.
Now select the condition table and then click the node "Fields" on the left hand side of the screen.
It may give a warning message that "Fields are not yet generated". Just ignore this and Enter once again.
Do this until it takes you to a screen where you can see fields like KOMK-VKORG, KOMK-WERKS and KOMP-MATNR
Now create the condition records and check in transaction by creating sales order. It shoudl work.

Set up new sales org/plant but without using Finance - is this possible?

Hi,
I was asked if the following is possible.
Set up a new sales org/plant but without using Finance.
It should be possible to create purchase order with goods in
and sales orders with delivery and goods issue.
But the invoice will be done in an external system.
So, all what has to do with finance will be done in an external system
also the goods in/goods out values.
So the stock and stock movements should be visible in SAP, but the values for this stock
will be posted in the external system manually.
So the question is: Is it possible to set up a new sales org/plant
but without using Finance?

Most important: the stock movements should only consider only quantity no values?
Isn´t there any way to say for a certain material it only consider quantities but no values?

APO DP Security - Securing by Characteristics (Sales Org & Plant)

We currently secure by Planning Areas and Planning Books, but now need to secure by Sales Org and Plant within Planning Areas.
Note 400434 refers to using exit EXIT_/SAPAPO/SAPLMCPR_015 and badi /SAPAPO/SDP_SELECTOR
but I need more info.
Has anyone implemented APO Security on Characteristics at their site, pls?

One approach as you mentioned can be creating Z Table where in you set up disaggregation proportion from product group level to product level or product location level.
Product Group X 100 Product A@loc1 10
Product B@loc1 90
Download your planning area data into infocube C and then use BW routines to convert the data from group in infocube C to lower level refereing Z Table....into another infocube..
SAP also provides such standard functionality of spliting the aggregate Demand plan to detailed level
SNP plan..through functionality like location slit or product split.
Essential you will be using same concept in yor BW solution or you may also want to consider the
release your DP to SNP planning area its as solution of diaggregation of data to lower level.

Table name for Sales Org/Plant combination for a given material?

Hi Experts,
I hv to find out that, weather the given material(actually, item of a sales order) have not been extended to the Sales Organisation / Plant on the sales order? or not?
So, in this context am looking A555 table......but, here I found 300 entries, where as MARA does hv tonns of materails!!
(A152, A153 tables do not hv any entry).
1 - So, am I lookimg the correct table? or is there any other good table?
2 - Is there any alternative(like FM) to validate the given materail againmst above said condition?

MVKE is the best table, the Sales view displayed in MM03 is referenced from this table.
data: t_mvke like mvke.

Sales Org assign to Plant

Hello Everyone,
I would need your help to confirm the following is true or clarify some doubts:
1. I understand that Sales Org (SOrg) is assigned to Plant , thus : Sorg := Plant
2. Does this also Implies : SOrg + Distr Channel := Plant? Not necessary right? For this case, its not true / an invalid assignment right?
3. Plant is assigned to Sales Org + Distr Channel. Is it implicit that the Reverse is true? Is it implicit that Always the reverse is true, in general, for Any other organizational unit assignment relationships?
I believe that Sales Org := Plant and Plant := Sales org + Distr Channel and the reverse of each of both relationships are not true. Please confirm.
4. Sales Org is Assigned to Plant but Plant is not Assigned to Sales Org right? Plant is also higher level in the organizational structure than Sales Org right?

why sales org is assigned at company code level why not on plant level ?

Multiple sales organizations can be assigned to company code.
Company code is the highest organizational unit and plant and sales organization are assigned to it.
In the logistics module, Plant is the highest entity in the MM module and Sales organization is the highest entity in SD module. Basically with this assignment of plant and sales org to company code all the financial accounts are updated.
Assigning of Sales org to company code and not to plant is the standard functionality that helps map most business processes.

This is one set up
Sales org 2000,dist channel20,div 00 plant 2000,CC 2000
This is another set up
Normal scenario would be Sales org 1000,dist channel 10 assigned to plant 1000 so that a sales process can smoothly happen in this setup
Another scenario would be Sales org 2000,dist channel 20 assigned to plant 2000 so that a sales process can smoothly happen in this setup
In Intercompany we assign Sales org 1000,dist channel 10 to plant 2000 or Sales org 2000,dist channel 20 to plant 1000
(ifyou want to sell a material from a plant thro one sales org that plant has to be assigned as a delivering plant for that sales org and dis channel in enterprise structure assignment and it is a must)
This means that we are telling the system this plant 2000 which is assigned to the CC 2000 can be a delivering plant for Sales org 1000(assigned to CC 1000),dist channel 10
Otherwise there will be error and no link between plant 2000 and sales org 1000 and ultimately no link between CC2000 and CC1000
So in the sales order when you put a plant of another company code the system senses it is a intercompany process and the pricing requirements and PI01 condition type everything will trigger
This is a major step in informing the system or making a link between the two company codes
Note this has to be done in enterprisestructure (assign sales org and dist channel to plant)and below the billing also (which you mentioned) in two places

While doing configuration in our development system I got warning message that Sales Org,Distribution assigned to Plant is of different company code.

Hi Raghavan,
A plant can be assigned to only one company code but to many combination of Sales Orgn and Dist Chnl. The combination of Sales Orgn and Dist Chnl could belong to a different company code.
The configuration you have done till now is correct just that the system warns the user with a message when we assign the plant to a sales orgn and dist chnl of a different company code.

Restrict F4 search results for specific plants / sales org / purchasing org

We have a project where a particular plant / sales org / purchasing org needs to be restricted because of the top secret data for that business. We would like to be able to restrict the search results that are displayed based on sales org / plant / purchasing org in the F4 help. If a user does not have access to the data / documents related a plant / sales org / purchasing org, we do not want the user to be able to see doc numbers, ship-to's, material numbers etc... My question is where do we restrict F4 results for the Sales and Distribution, Finance, Materials Management, Production Planning, Logistics, etc... modules? Thanks in advance for the help.

Creation of Sales org and company code

Am i right to say that sales org is assigned to company code but the creation of sales org is not dependent on the existence of the company code is will be assigned to?

Hi Ravi,
You are right. You can create either company code first or sales organisation first. You can first create everything you need (sales organisation, plant, d.channel, division, company code, credit control area....anything) in any order, the order really doesnt matter here.
Once you start assigning,, the assignment elements shoudl be there. Thats all. If the assignment elements are there, you can assign them, as long as they are there in the system.

VL10B picking wrong sales org.

When we do a stock transport order, PO type ZUB, we ship from our plant to another plant. Each plant has it's own sales org. assigned to it. We use transaction VL10B to create the outbound delivery note. We have 4 satellite plants that we will ship to and each has it's own sales org. I've looked in configuration under STO in SPRO and the correct sales org is assigned. I've also looked at sales org. assignment and the correct sales org is assigned to the correct plant. However, when I create the delivery, it is seems to be using the sales org from the supplying plant and not the destination plant.
What can be causing this issue?

Delta replication of Sales Org, Sales Off and Sales Group (ECC to CRM)

I am struck with the delta of the Sales Area.
Sales org with 6 Sales Offices and 6 Sales Group were created in the ERP and all this were replicated in to CRM in Initial but now my client wants to add 3 more sales offices with 3 Sales Groups.
Sales Offices and sales group were maintained in the ERP system and i have created the Sales Offices in CRM but the problem is those sales offices and Sales groups were not reflecting in CRM.
Newly added Sales Offices and Sales Groups were not replicated in CRM?
I was trying to assign the ERP Sales Org,Offices, Sales Group with CRM Sales Org, Office, Sales Group in "Assign SAP CRM Sales Org. to SAP ECC Sales Org.""Assign SAP CRM Sales Offices to SAP ECC Sales Offices" , "Assign SAP CRM Sales Group to SAP ECC Sales Group" but i can not view the ERP Sales groups.
So what should i do inorder to replicate the newly added Sales off. and Sales Groups in CRM which were created in ERP?

Hello Arun,
You have already created 3 Sales Offices & 3 Sales Group in SAP ECC Enterprise Strurcture.Now you require these new sales offices & sales groups into CRM System.
For that you use Transaction CRMC_R3_ORG_GENERATE. Here in this transaction you can see your newly created sales offices & sales groups. You have to select these rows & click on "Generate Selected Lines".
Once you have done with this you can see new rows added with New Organization units for each unique sales Office & sales groups.After this dont forget to SAVE.
Now You can assign the ERP Sales Offices & Sales Groups to CRM Sales Office & CRM Sales Group.
