You can use the sales promotion component to manage a wide range of marketing activities. The standard R/3 System contains the following sales promotion types:
Direct mailing campaign with follow-up activity
This document helps you organize the sending of product information or promotional gifts and manages the creation of the relevant follow-up activity.
Internet mailing campaign
The Internet mailing campaign (sales activity type 0104 in the standard system) has the same characteristics as the direct mailing campaign with follow-up activity except that the output for the Internet mailing is sent via Internet.
Direct mailing campaign without follow-up activity
This document also helps you organize the sending of product information or promotional gifts. You can choose whether you want follow-up activities to be created.
Collectively generated sales activities
This sales promotion type functions as a worklist. For example, you can create a list of addresses of all customers who have not been contacted over a specified period and initiate a telemarketing campaign to that targets these customers. You can then follow up the telephone calls with a sales call.

I have needs to generate report in OBIApps that show Top 10 New Contact Generating by Sales Promotion Girls (SPG).
May i know if in Marketing Analytics, is there any dimension that specify data of SPG?
I have already searched in W_EMPLOYEE_D, W_HOUSEHOLD_D and W_VENDOR_D but i find none of the data inserted in Siebel is recorded there.

IwanSo after several weeks of back and forth via AndreaS_VZW, I am glad to say Verizon has come through and resolved my issue. It was by no means an overnight process, and there were some hiccups along the way (not AndreaS_VZW's fault by any means), but thanks in large part to AndreaS_VZW I am now back to being a happy camper.
Kudos to AndreaS_VZW for her patience and professionalism throughout my ordeal. I also appreciated the fact that she provided me with unsolicited status updates during the process. Hope anyone else facing similar issues will have as much luck as I did. -
Linking Sales Promotions to Statistical Internal Orders
We have two kinds of promotions here.
a) Consumer Promotion - reduced price for a particular period
b) Trade Promotion - Free goods - buy 10 get one free.
We are creating these promotion through standard SAP route with a validity period, and these get populated in the sales order order correctly.
The promotionional expenses are borne by the supplier (vendor). To debit his account with the appropriate expenses, we have created Statistical Internal orders (SIO) in CO, one per supplier account.
(We have developed a report where we accumulate all the values dueing these two above promotions and manually pass a JV in finance in the SIO.This is a long circuitous process and we are exploring other alternativesto make the values flow directly to the SIO)
If you double click on the sales order item, and proceed to Account Assignment tab, you will see an order no., where you can select the (SIO) no., which we are doing manually.
I am unable to find any place in configuration of Sales Promotion/Sales Deal/ SIO (definition) through which I can default the SIO no. in the sales order, so that the values can flow automatically.
Please help if possible.

Sales promotion Add On for Wholesales Industry
Hi Expert,
We had the following requirement from prospect:
1. Example Buy 5(Item A) free 1(Item A)
System to auto insert FOC item without marketing people to memorise the sales promotion.
If buy 8, system will insert FOC item as 1 but if buy 10, FOC item will be 2.
2. Flexibility in setting sales promotion
Sometimes, the promotion could be buy 5(Item A) free 1(Item B)
3. It must allow user to analyse sales promotion performances without setting up multiple sales promotion to reduce number of master records.
4. It must allow for multiple unit of measurement as the FOC item could be item of lower unit of measurement eg buy 5 carton of Item A free 1 packet of Item B.
5. Allow for validity date setting for this promotion.
Wonder there is any workaround in 2007A or any available add on to cope with above requirement.

Within the capabilities of the SAP Business One system (out of the box). The only possibility to accomplish this without the user manually entering would be set up a Sales BOM with the combination of (51) or (81) as the case may be.

Hi,
When i try to create a sales promotion in VB31..I get a error ....number range doesnt exist for rebate...can some one tell me where to assign number range to promotion in IMG.
I create a promotionin img> SD> basic functions >pricing>pricing agreements-->define promotions.
I read sales deals can be assigned to promotions...but where can i assign deals to promotion? in IMG? please throw some light on this.

I think the required setting has not been done.
Go to SPRO--> Sales and Distribution --> Basic Functions --> Pricing --> Pricing Agreements
One more thing, Go to Google and search with term "SAP SD Sales Deal & promotion" --> The first result of slide share will help you to resolve your issue.

Promotion Number in Sales Order
Hi all,
I am using SAP Retail.
I create Sales Promotion (WAK1) and assign "SP Condition" KA02 - Promo Discount % into this promotion.
However, when I create sales order (VA01), the promotion number is not determined by the system but the condition KA02 is granted in the pricing procedure.
Compared with the Sales Promotion (WAK1) created for sales price promotion (VKA1). The promotion number and sales price promotion can be determined correctly in sales order.
Could you please help to clarify whether the standard SAP can determine promotion number in this case?

1)Check in Change Promotion T.code - WAK2
in the item level Promotion announcement category(Ann column) - set indicator as F Promotion announcement
2)Check sales periods dates - Sales order from to TO it should be valid date

Sales deal and Promotion problem
There is sales promotion given:
u2022 Dollar Amount Discount
When a customer spends over a certain amount, they get a discount.
These promotions are usually offered in two ways
The first way is a single discount. If a customer spends $XX, they get X% their entire order. As long as they meet that minimum dollar purchase, they get the discount.
The second way is a stair-step or sliding scale discount. If a customer spends $XX, they get X discount. If they spend more, $XXX, they get a larger discount, XX% on their entire order
u2022 An example of this is
o If you spend $100, you get a 10% discount
o If you spend $200, you get a 15% discount
o If you spend $300, you a 20% discount

When a customer purchases a single unit of one product/part, they will pay their full price.
If a customer purchases two or more units of the same product/part the customer will get a 10% discount on those units. The 10% discount would have to be off the customeru2019s net price, not the list price.
An example would be if a customer purchased a fan belt for $10, the total bill would be $10 + shipping
If that customer purchased two fan belts, the cost for each fan belt would $10 u2013 10% = $9 x 2+ $18.00 + shipping.

Whatever activities you are doing right from creation of inquiry, quotation till billing can be called as sales activities.
Sales Promotion:
To increase your sales, whatever activities you are doing like providing free samples, giving discounts to customers are called sales promotions, which means, you are trying to promote your sales through some activities.

Free sample sales net value in invoice should give zero value.

I have a question on the cess values aspect of free sample sales.Recently, I have configured a free sample sales for one of our clients. Now, in the invoice the user does not want the cess values to be passed to the customer.I changed the R100 discount type in the pricing control data, still tax is picked up, showing negative net value and not zero. Now, how to arrive at excise payable as credit entry and octoroi etc as debit entry in G/L accounts. or where I am going wrong, please suggest.

Raj.For sample sales that is you are despatching material on free of cost, follow the steps mentioned below
1) In V/06, you should create a condition type, say ZDIS (for 100% discount) and maintain the following:-
Cond. class::::::A
Calculat.type::::A
Plus/minus:::::::X
Item condition:::X
Amount/percent:::X
Delete:::::::::::X
Value::::::::::::X
Save the condition type
2) In OV34, create two new Account Keys, one for PR00 and one for 100% discount. Say the two Account Keys are ZSM and ZSP
3) In V/08, against PR00 condition type, assign Account Key ZSM with a tick in "Required". Next for condition type ZDIS, assign the another Account Key ZSP without any tick in the three boxes. Against this discount condition type, assign the step number of net value under the tab "From", assuming that after PR00 you have multiple condition types.
4) In FS00, create a new G/L Account with description as Sales Promotion Expenses
5) In VKOA maintain these two Account Keys for the sales organisation / chart of accounts with the same G/L account for both the Account Keys. Dont assign different G/L Account here.
6) Now create a sale order and do billing. See how the accounting document flows. Post still if you have any issues.

what should be the accounting entries when we are doing a sample sales (providing free of cost sample goods to customer as a sales promotion activity)?Dear TS,
In Sample sales accounting entries will takes place as like normal postings but there will not be any out standinding on behalf of cutomer because this comes under 100% discount.
You need to use R100 - 100% discount condition type in your pricing procedure to give the samples at free of cost.
So all product price value will be posted to deduction(Discount) account there will not be any revenue i.e postings will not happen to Revenue account.
If tax is applicable that posted as normal posting.

The strategy used to promote the sales of a product. This could be acheived through a thorough understanding of the business and the customers the product is targeting at. This analysis could lead to a number of strategies, namely:
1. value added services to the product.
2. Marketing Communications.
3. Contests and Sweepstakes Design.
4. Corporate Premiums and Incentives.
5. Offers on the product, etc.
The strategies used for the sales promotion are tabulated in the SAP system in the table 'WAKH'.
