The thing i've done are : reinstalling iTunes, restarting iPod, doing all the articles on Apple's support section, except for the part where I need multiple computers (I will do that in 2 days), I updated my BIOS and still when I enable C-State it gets into a restart loop. Most of the users with this error said enabling C-State got them rid of it.

Safari user name and password for secure sites

I just sent the following to "Mac OS X Feedback"
Some secure sites like brokers, e.g., Ameritrade, do no allow autofill in Safari for the user name and password. In fact Safari does not even ask if you want to remember the user name and password just entered for such sites.
I would like to suggest that something be done for users in such cases:
1) A dialog box comes up warning that this website does not allow autofill.
2) A suggestion is made as to what network setting needs to be changed to allow autofill to work
3) A fix in Safari to take care of this problem
4) Add something to Safari help
Does anyone have a work around for this problem?

Think about what would happen if someone gained access to your Mac, say while you were briefly away from your desk or whatever. They launch Safari, go to the login web page of (for instance) your bank & discover that autofill has helpfully filled in your user name & password so all they have to do to get access to your accounts is click the login button.
From there, they can transfer all your assets to some other account (theirs!) or invest in FlyByNight.com or whatever -- they can do anything your password lets you do with any password-protected account ... anything!
Take this a step further. Say you have enabled auto-login to your primary account at startup, or have used an easy-to-guess account password for it. Someone steals your computer ... & with it potential access to all your online accounts with autofill entries.
Not a pretty picture, is it?

Symptom:
"%ASA-3-210007: LU allocate xlate failed" appearing on standby unit
Conditions:
- Stateful failover enabled.
- Overlap between a static NAT rule and the NAT exemption.
-the "alias" command is used to rewrite destination ip address
Workaround:
in the nat exemption access-list deny specifically the traffic matching the source of the traffic with destination the alias'd ip address.
I looked at this bug report and it says the error was first found in 7.0/7.2. However, the client is running 8.4(1) on the ASA's. When this problem initially came to light, my co-worker found this bug report:

This made sense since at the time they were running 8.32 and upgrading to a newer code seemed to be how to fix it according to this article:

However, even after the upgrade to 8.4(1), the problem still exists. Do we need to roll them back to the unreleased code that the above article mentions? Or should this problem have been fixed in the 8.4(1) release?
TIA for any ideas/suggestions. A call to TAC may be in order for this problem, especially since the workaround doesn't seem to be the best solution.

To troubleshoot this issue, we first need to verify whether thios error message is cosmetic or are we really hitting into any known issue, to identify it, we need to fisrt verify whether the xlate tables on both the firewalls is approximate;y same or not.(you can do this by using show xlate commandf on the firewalls). If it is same and still we are getting these messages, then it is a cvosmetic issue(which does not affect the traffic).
This particukar message appears if the xlate tables are not correctly replicated between the active and standby unit in failover.
I would request you to provide the below debugs:
debug nat 5
debug fover fail
This would further help is in identifying the issue.

NetBoot Images not "seen" by MM / MBA when booting with ALT without any local bootable Volumes

I ran into a very odd Problem trying to start Production and Service Mac Minis or Mac Book Airs from our NetBoot Server holding the ALT Key while the Startup Chime sounds. Image selection is working fine if a local Volume is present. When no local bootable Volume is available the Macs will (in 90% of the Cases) stop responding at the point where the Bootpicker should show all available NetBoot Volumes. The dropdown menu for choosing a Wireless Network is popping up but after that the spinning wheel next to it stops and the Mac wont recognize any input from mouse or keyboard.
The EFI Startup environment is not totally stuck in these cases though, cause sometimes when you restart the NetBoot Service on the Server the NetBoot Volumes will popup on the clients screen.
If you hold the clients "N" key instead to Start Up from the Servers Default NB Image it works like a charm. Also all the other Mac Models have no problem at all Netbooting using the Bootpicker.
Among other things I already tried the following:
- changing NBI index numbers
- shortening Image names that are sent out by the Server at the BSDP ACK[LIST] step to reduce the packet size
- deactivating all Netboot Images but one
- setting up a second netboot Server and transferring half of the Images to it
the Netboot Log shows that the following client - server communication is repeated over an over:

Connect it from the shuffle's headphones jack to the auxilliary audio input on car audio system. You called it an "aux 1 outlet," but it's really an audio INPUT, correct? DO NOT connect it there, if that is an audio OUTPUT. It needs to be an audio INPUT.

IPod will not charge with car adapter

My iPod mini is the older of the two iPods I own, so I use it in the car when I travel. I understand leaving an iPod in the car to charge messes up the battery, but it is okay with me since it is much older. Recently, the mini has not been charging at all when I plug it into the car. Restoring has not worked, though I can try it again.
Any ideas on what I can do?

Sounds like there something wrong with the charger/connection in your car. I occasionally have to remove/replace the cig lighter charger I use in my car; I can tell something's wrong when the red "pilot" light doesn't work (on the charger).

Question about https

I'm just over 6 months on the job and am new to the IronPort. Found that users can still get to facebook and other web sites by using https. Not sure if I need to enable the HTTPS proxy. I don't really care to monitor the SSL session. Our policy is just to limit access to certain web pages. Can anyone advise. We're using WCCP from an ASA firewall. Thanks.

To add on to what Eric is saying:
The decryption policies have a few different actions. To block facebook HTTPS traffic, there are a few different ways to do it, depending on your needs.
Add facebook.com and .facebook.com to a custom category
Or if you want to block all social networking sites, just modify the action for the "social networking" category.
In the decryption policies, here are your options for blocking:
Set the category to Drop. This means that the SSL connection will be abruptly terminated - NO BLOCK PAGE. Just a generic browser error will show up.
Set the category to Decrypt and then the access policies will apply. So if your access policies block facebook, facebook will be blocked.
One key thing to understand is that cookie surrogates won't provide auth credentials for HTTPS traffic, so if you're using cookie surrogates, your decryption policies will be for all users matching a "no auth" Identity. In short, this means that you can only "drop" HTTPS facebook traffic for EVERYONE, you can't pick and choose by user / group, unless you use IP surrogates.
This is due to technical limitations in how HTTPS proxies work with authentication.

Installing Freehand 11 on mac os 10.8.2

I just bought Freehand 11, surprisingly I cannot install it on my Imac intel based.
After searching , Freehand is a dead application which Adobe didn't care at all.
Is there anyway I can use Freehand?
Is there a legal statement that mention Adobe support on Freehand product?
Is it true that Rosetta can't work on mac os 10.8.2?

Yes, you can still use FreeHand 11 in OSX 10.8.2 but you have to add a few things first. Mavericks doesn't include Rosetta so you will need two software programs; Parallels and Snow Leopard Server: 1-800-MYAPPLE.

Like all Free FreeHand member, I love FH. I can make it do things that seem impossible for any other design application. I have tried all the workarounds to keep using FH (upgrading my 2000 Ethernet G4 to setting up a partition on my MBP to keep Snow Leopard and FH). Rebooting my Mac is really a pain; going back and forth between two computers is better, but still not like the "Good Old (Snow Leopard) Days" and can't be done when I am out of the office with my MBP.
Thanks to my son, I learned that Newegg.com had a special where Parallels 8 was basically free ($19.99 with a $20 rebate). Upon installing Parallels, I learned-to my dismay-that Snow Leopard could not be used in a virtual machine due to licensing issues. Parallels does allow Leopard Server and Snow Leopard Server. But who has that old software which cost between $300 and $500 in it Day?
After my initial excitement, I was really bummed out. All reading this understand.
Then, thanks to macintouch.com, I learned that Apple was selling Snow Leopard Server for $19.99, plus shipping. This unadvertised special is only available by phone, (800) MYAPPLE. Apple will ask if you plan to use the application for business, personal or education. The deliver date was 3-5 weeks out, but it arrived in two weeks. This server package comes with unlimited license.
I installed FH and then create a Macromedia folder inside the Application Support Folder, which is in the Library folder, and place my FreeHand MXa Registration file from my G4 in it.
Bingo, I am back in business with FH. I suggest having 8 mgs of RAM or more. I set up the virtual machine's dock on the left side of the screen and turned off hiding as my MBP dock is at the bottom of the screen. Can't have both at the bottom.
Also, I added all my fonts to the Snow Leopard virtual machine's font folder. It does not recognize the fonts on the Mac.
If you have not installed a Mac server, do not worry. It installs a lot of stuff you will never use on a virtual machine. Really who cares as long as FH runs seemlessly?
The only challenge I have encountered so far, is that on one Mac Mini, I can run in what Parallels calls "Full Coherence" but on my MBP, I can't. This means the virtual machine works as just another app and FH act as though it is running on Maverick, including cut and paste. I am sure I made a mistake in setting the MacBookPro Leopard virtual machine. I will figure it out.
This is a long-winded explanation of how I am now running FH on my MBP with Maverick operating system, but I wanted to be thorough. Plus, I can now run a number of useful legacy applications Apple had abandoned with the demise of Rosetta. And it only cost me $20.50. I hope this help some forum members.

Opening MySite blog links gives 404 on first try

When SharePoint search returns search results containing links to blog articles, the first time user tries to enter the link results in "404 NOT FOUND" error. When trying the link again (by going back with browser back button and clicking again
on the same link) it works.
Firstly, when doing a search, SharePoint search returns links to blog posts in this format: http://mysite/personal/jam/Blog/Lists/Viestit/ViewPost.aspx?ID=3
After clicking on the search result, user is redirected to non-existing URL, and user gets blank screen with "404 NOT FOUND" error: http://mysite/personal/jam/Blog/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?List=f7f62f92%2Dfb73%2D4c24%2Da933%2Dee7608a825a3&ID=3&Web=6120a040%2D9d26%2D4c09%2D8b5e%2Dc3a11566b827

If you look at the link closely, you see that "Posts" has been replaced with "Viestit", as MySite/Blog language is Finnish, not English.
After this, link to blog posts by that user work fine UNTIL IISRESET is run, after that it again requires one-time 404 error page until users get to the blog page.
In ULS log, I see SharePoint doing various URI mapping, but they don't make much sense as it's mapping MySite URI to intranet site URI, and then finally mapping it to the incorrect URI with incorrect list URL "Posts".
Why does SharePoint resolve links to incorrect URLs and how to make it working also on first blog page access? Using August 2013 CU.

Based on your description, this issue might be caused by Query Language.
Query Language is not the language of the Browser interface, but the language submitted to web sites. By default, the
property of search results is null, the locale will be inferred from the browser language.
So , for resolving your issue, please make sure that the search results has a same language with the web sites.

Sounds like iPods aren't so hot.....

From the discussions I've read on this site, it sounds like iPods (or other mp3 players) aren't the hot item everyone seems to think they are. I just got one (as a gift) and really like the concept, but all these glitches and required update downloads and compatibility issues and authorizations on different computers and....and....is annoying. These things need to be more simple and bombproof. I don't want to have to spend hours at a time tinkering around with my iPod. I want to transfer songs, listen to them and have the thing take care of its own updates whenever I plug it in.

I bought a 6 GB Mini this April, very cute in its pink packaging and whenever I handled it at the beginning I treated it like a newborn. Heck, I even gave it a name (Guinevere).
But maybe a month or two right after, I dropped it on a cement floor (I felt my stomach drop with the precious pink rectangle and was almost in tears). I said to myself "Oh no, there's goes $249.99 + 5% Mass sales tax!!"
Luckily, it plays music fine, but if it isn't used for a day or two and kept locked, it shows the Apple icon and takes a minute to 'boot up' (so to speak). I can't say for sure if this was due to the drop (it only fell 3 or 4 feet max, however it skidded for an additional foot). I now have permanent scars on my mini, and realized that the color on it is just a 'spray on' (you can see the silver of the scratches; though minimal, it's discomforting).
Though I have e-mailed Apple several times (and spent an hour looking for an e-mail address), I haven't received any response of whether it can be repaired and the fee for the repairs. Also, it seems Apple sees these devices as 'disposable'. I've read on a few sites (including this one) that iPods sent in for work are often refurbished and you get a new one instead.
Now, I'm a teen with no steady income. For the price you pay for one of their products, I don't feel it's a worthy investment. For one thing, there have been so many bad reviews about their products (and now something about a recall for the Nano) that Apple seems sketchy to me. I also noticed that any Apple (and non-apple) accessories for iPods are extremely overpriced. $20 for a case?? I bought the same type of silicone skin case at Wal-Mart a few days ago for $1.88. Granted, there isn't plastic covering the screen/click wheel on my mini, but even so, how can they charge so much for some flexible colored plastic?? Unless you are obsessed with technology and have the money to spare, I do not reccomend iPods.
The middle class at large (as well as teens and 20-somethings), which seem to be Apple's main targets, would probably agree with me in saying that iPods are not practical. Now, maybe I've just got a pot of bad luck with my mini. But I'm sure more than a few would agree with me and what I've said.
(And just as a side note: there were at least two other options I had researched that gave me more storage for less then or equal to what I paid for my iPod mini. And how is a 6 GB Mini $250 when a 30 GB iPod is only $300? Something seems fishy....)

WRTU54G-TM router loses internet connection and needs to be restarted to regain connection.

We recently switched from a WRT54G to a WRTU54G-TM router from T-mobile and the new router seems to randomly lose our internet connection and needs to be restarted to regain it. It could be coincidence but this has happened a couple of times immediately after using our VoIP phone connected to it. I tried switching back to the old router and everything worked fine once again. Typically with the WRTU54G-TM it will stay connected for about a day or so and then it will need to be restarted. Although sometimes it will need to be restarted multiple times in one day. Just curious if anyone had any quick suggestions or setting configurations that I may have missed?

I just added the T-Mobile@Home service and set up a WRTU54G-TM this past Saturday. During the first 4 days, the blue light on the router went out and I lost phone service - until rebooting the router each time. Phone service returned about a minute after rebooting in each case.
I did NOT lose Internet service while phone service was down.
I reached T-Mobile customer care the second time, and the rep I spoke with mentioned that she had a couple of other calls similar to mine earlier in the day. So far, the reps had no official word regarding this problem, and the word going around was simply to tell people to reboot their routers.
Tech Support had about a 20 minute hold queue, so I didn't yet to speak with a technician.
The phone service has been up for the past 2 days -- curious to see how long it holds up this time. Also checking the Linksys site regularly to see if new firmware (beyond the 1.00.04 I have loaded) becomes available - maybe that will address the problem.
When I complained to customer care, the one thing they did was to extend my "buyer's remorse period" to 30 days (instead of the usual 14). So I plan to hang on for another couple of weeks to see if this gets straightened out. I love the service, sound quality and price. Hoping it works out - I want to keep this!

Ai cumva idee cam care e, in procente, diferenta de viteza dintre o metoda si cealalta, ca sa stiu daca merita, daca ai citit ceva despre acest subiect. Eu am citit undeva ca depinde de performentele retelei. Daca ai retea buna, e bine sa pui pe forme, daca nu, atunci pui pe BD. Dar nu am citit nimic clar, cu informatii sigure, cu cifre. Tot ce am gasit, pana acum, despre acest subiect e vag. Si mi nu mi se pare de neglijat.

"@mac" in web address

Does this have to be there? I've seen others websites in the forum lists that don't have it. How do you eliminate the "@mac" in your website name and still publish using iweb?
I am new at this and haven't yet published a web site---I guess I am assuming the @mac will be there---is this true?

Simply register your domain name "myname.com", then use "forwarding" to direct it to your real web address, and use "domain masking" so that your "myname.com" web address url remains at all times. With this, only "myname.com" will show for your website. However, keep in mind, that certain features of .mac won't work with the domain masking - such as iWeb's standard hit counter, and I believe the slideshow doesn't work well under domain masking as well.
If you need these, and having "myname.com" isn't such a big deal to have showing all the time. You can use "myname.com" to forward to your site, then once there your real .Mac domain will show up. Honestly, people really don't care what the domain url is, just as long as they get there.

A tout hasard...., tout dernièrement, j'ai aussi eu des problèmes avec cette mise à jour et un autre utilisateur du forum m'a rappelé une solution qui dans mon cas a marché. Désinstaller la version utilisée et ensuite l'installer à partir du site d'Adobe.
Je ne cherche pas à te donner les liens car j'ai une urgence mais tu peux facilement trouver.
