Same account, different computers, plus iPhone

I have two computers. I use one primarily to keep my music on but it's getting outdated now and I would like to be able to use my main computer to syncronize my phone. When I plug in the phone to the new computer, it says it has to erase everything from the phone to sync. I don't understand this since I am using the same itunes account. Is there some way I can get it to work with both machines, or at least transfer everything over to the new computer from the old one? I understand I can't have one phone and two different accounts, but why can't I have my music appear on both machines without it erasing everything all of the time?
thanks!

Copy the song files from your work computer to a portable medium such as a flash drive. The copy from the drive to the home PC, and add the songs to your library there. This works for non-purchased content as well.

  • Downloading on same account, different computers

I have two computers in my house. Different family members have their iPods registered to the different computers, but use the same Apple Account for iTunes. Do I have to download songs and videos and pay for them again if i'm downloading them on the same account but a different computer?

  • Same account, different computers...

Hi, I use my iTunes account on my MacBook and on someone elses laptop. If she downloads apps on her laptop, can I also have them on my MacBook?
It's doesn't show in the 'Purchased' tab in iTunes, however it does show in my recently purchased bit in my actual account details, but this doesn't allow me to download them to my laptop.
So basically, we both use the same account on my Mac and iPhone and on her laptop and iPod Touch. Can we share apps, because I can't seem to!

  • Adobe Cloud, Same account, 2 computers, different trial dates?

Hello, I am trying out the new Adobe Premiere 2014 edition. I have two MacBooks, with creative cloud under the same account installed on both of them. I pay for Adobe cloud photography package monthly. However, I am thinking of going for the whole package because I enjoy Adobe Premiere.
But, I wanted to get my 30 day trial before I did that. On one computer, it says I have 30 days remaining in my trial. On the other computer it says I have 2 days remaining on my trial. I have assured they are signed in under the same account. In fact, they have to be, or I couldn't use Photoshop, which I pay for.
Second question, If after the trial is over, I decide to get Premiere Pro CC 2014, which cost 20 dollars, is there anyway to make the bill for it due the same day as the Photoshop package?
When the trial expires and the, 'Buy,' button comes up, there is no need to uninstall but it and then reinstall correct? All I need to do is hit buy, put in the information, and it will unlock it? The reason this question is important, is because I live in a place that has very limited internet. So, I have to go to a distance to download large files or I'll go over my data cap at my house. So, I want to download it at the location I'm at now, and when the trial runs out, I do not want to have to drive far away to re download it.

    Hi Justin Curtis,
There could be a possibility that the there is difference in activation date.
If you are not able to use Photoshop CC, try the below mentioned steps and share the results.
Creative Cloud applications ask for serial number
    Activation & Deactivation Help
Sign in, activation, or connection errors | CS5.5 and later, Acrobat DC
Answer 2: If you wish to pay for both the subscription on the same day. You would have to make sure that the purchase date of Premier Pro cc has to be same to that of Photoshop CC.
Answer 3: Once your trail is expired and you have  purchase it, there is no need to re-install the app.
Please sign out and sign back in to creative cloud .
Sign in, Sign out | Creative Cloud desktop app
Please revert in case of further query.

  • Same account - different suffixes consolidation

my iphone thinks my apple id is [email protected], my mac thinks it's xxxx and my iPad thinks it's [email protected] They are all the same account - how do I combine them to [email protected]? Many thanks

Thanks for your message. I can sign out on my mac and change the id but not on my iphone which - for example in app store prompts me to sign in to app store but gives me a prefilled unchangeable id

  • Loading songs onto same iPod, different computers

Can you load your iPod from different computers (iTunes installed on both)? When I tried to load some new stuff from a different location, it says it's linked to another iTunes library, do I want to replace what's on the iPod with the new library (something like that). Will this wipe out all my current songs on my ipod?

    Yes it will.
Sadly you can't change the settings inside iTunes until the iPod is connected... the default setting is to automatically update the connected iPod with the computer's music library.
However, it is possible to do, although a little unconventional and would probably not be something apple would recommend...I have done it several times with no effect to the iPod.
    Connect it to your computer
As soon as iTunes recognises it, change the settings so that you manually update iPod, then...
manually disconnect your iPod without ejecting it
Wait for a few moments and...
    Bob is your uncle!
Reconnect and manually update at your own leisure keeping your old tunes

  • Connecting Mac pro and iPad - same account different addresses

I have been reading the posts here and am a little confused about FaceTime setup.
I have an iPad with FT preinstalled. My Mac pro at home should be able to handle FT as should my MacBook pro. I understand that I can buy FT from the app store and it will work on all machines with my mac.com account.
Where the confusion comes in is people outside my account. If I am away from home with my iPad and/or laptop, will I be able to FT with someone at home? Since the home computer is registered to my Mac.com account along with my iPad, I know I cant connect to the home machine using the same account/email.
Can my wife or kids use FaceTime on my home computer with their own accounts to send or receive facetime calls from me when I am traveling? If I set up a separate user account for them on my machine will they have to buy their own copy of FT to access it (since activation seems to be tied to a .mac account) If they use their email while logged into my account, can I change the ft address on that computer back to mine when I get home?
this new app store activation process has me confused already, and the additional address need for FaceTime complicates the process even further. Any clarification on how this works and the possible limitations would be appreciated.

Just to be clear. There is no FireWire connection for the iPad.
To connect the iPad to your Mac use the cable that came with the iPad. Plug one end into the iPad and the other into your Mac.
Now, keep in mind that the iPad requires USB 2.0 on your Mac.
Also to transfer files you need iTunes 10.7 or 11.0.2 which is the latest.
iTunes 10.7 or 11.0.2 on your Mac requires OSX 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) or later.
Make sure your Mac meets the system and iTunes requirements before proceeding.
So start iTunes on your Mac. If it is iTunes 11.0.2 use the View menu in iTunes to view Sidebar.
    Then connect the iPad.
You will not see the iPad listed like a hard drive on your Mac. It will show up in the Sidebar of iTunes.
Finally, does your daughter sync her iPad to another computer? If so use that computer to add the movie to her iPad. Connecting her iPad through iTunes to your computer and syncing to add the Movie will cause all photos, music, etc. that were synced from your daughters computer to be deleted.

  • Same account HeyTell  on two iphones

    hi,
I bought an iphone to a friend, I have not restored it, I put my apple ID and I installed HeyTell. I have her contact and I have her nickname when I put my nickname, on my friend's new iphone, her nickname will change to mine. How to have two separate accounts?
    thank you

The Account name and Home Folder name on the iMac are different from each other and we're ok with that. I have read that they should be the same and I have read that it doesn't matter...anyway.
I'm understanding that when we use MM it will name the MBP Account and Folder name the same as the iMac (which we are ok with) unless we set up the MBP with a different Account and Folder name.
Then, we will have to transfer files using something other than MM.
    Is this correct?
With the understanding that the Account and Home Folder name on the two computers will be the same, is this going to cause any problems or confusion using the two computers in the same house?
Incidently, the iMac has a external HD, 70% partition for TM and 30% for video storage.
    No problem
Or, should each computer have at least a different Folder name?
    Not necessary.
Also, my wife would like both computers to have the same info and be kept up to date with each other, but that's probably a different post.
If you subscribe to MobileMe, syncing is simple.
I'm learning this mac stuff and learning rather quickly. Just need a push in the right direction.
Macs are very user-friendly and fun
    Thanks.

  • Transfer content from different computers to iPhone

Isn't it possible that I connect my iPhone to a computer of a friend, to put some free mp3 on my iPhone?
I manage my library manually, but it always wants to sync everything with the computer of my friend?!
Next phone will be Android! Apple restrictions are so ridiculous!

For reasons that are beyond our ken Apple have designed iTunes in such a way that the content of an iPhone can only be effectively managed from a single *iTunes library*. This restriction is normally presented as being from a single computer but the distinction is important. I can and do manage my iPhone from any computer I chose by dint of having my library stored on a portable external drive. For data security I clone this library onto both my home and work computers so that I have three copies of all my media and the database files.
Note, iTunes protected content can be authorized on up to five computer operating systems at any one time. Protected content from up to five different accounts can be added to any one device. Protected content from each account can be added to as many devices as you can lay your hands on.

  • Two accounts two computers an iphone and a mess

    hi
i have a music organization mess on my two networked macs and iphone.
    here are the conflicts:
different music on each computer, want an entire set on at least one, hopefully both
    do not want duplicates
i seem to have bought music under a different mac account a few years back and when i logged in as that i got a real mess with permissions
i just want a master location for my music and eventually make the office machine the sync for my imac
    thanks

Figure out which computer is your main one.
If there is anything you want that is not already on that main computer, put a copy there and add it to the iTunes library. For moving the copy over you can use a USB flash drive or any convenient medium.
As you have purchased content from more than one account, make sure the main computer is authorized to each account from which you have purchased content. This is done with the command Store > Authorize this computer.
Once your iTunes library is fully built on the main computer, use the main computer to sync your iPhone.
If you want to have stuff on the secondary computer, worry about it at a later date. That is a secondary issue.

  • Do we have to pay for audiobooks twice on same account, different phones?

My husband bought and listened to an audiobook on his iPhone.
Now I'd like to listen to that same book on my iPhone. Do I have to pay for it again?
It's not in my list of purchases or on my computer backup. I started to use the cloud about a year ago and he has just started using the cloud in the past month.
    Help please!

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Audiobooks are not currently part of the content that can be re-downloaded. You should sync your audiobooks to other devices via iTunes on your computer.

    Hi,
How could I do this in thunderbird?
There is only one email account. Under the only one email account, there is a manager who have all the privileges. There are some users accounts who can only read and reply emails. Users accounts can't delete any messages.
