  • FaceTime: One apple ID, multiple devices

    Hi,
I'm hoping someone can help me solve this dilemma. I have one apple ID that's signed on for multiple devices (iMac, iPad and my iPhone 4). And I'm having tough time trying to figure out how to call from one device to another. For example, from my iPad (when I'm on the road) to my iMac (at home). How do I set that up?
    Thank you in advance.
    Best,
    M.

When you sign into facetime or imessage you can specify a unique email for that device, this becomes the facetime or imessage id for that device.
Hense multiple id's per device, certain id's can be used over multiple devices without any issues.  For example settings, itunes, and then sign in with all the same itunes id.
An apple id has a sub heading
    icloud
    imessage
    facetime
    gamecentre
    itunes
each can have there own unique email address (id) and each one can be signed out and signed into with a different email address by going through settings, then the app you want.

  • Same apple Id on Devices will this effect icloud

Hi I have searched for an answer and can not seem to find a diffinitive answer ref ios5 ,
    my itunes account:
on my ipad, my macbook, my iphone, and my imac. that is simple.
and on my wife, son, and  daughters iphone, but with icloud will she not by default be syncing her calenders etc with mine ? not sure i want my kids to know when my next Promise is?

i can't say this is a definitive answer, but a week ago at the apple store the store trainer, not trainee but trainer, told me that all devices with the same id will merge. for that reason i did not update yet, i have to redo the 3 people in my home with the same apple id to get them their own. also i saw a thread before i saw this one where a woman said her and her husband's contacts merged and they had the same apple id.

  • Same apple id different devices

    Hi
    I have this question.
I have been using the iPhone 4s since about 3 years and now recently purchase the i Pad Air 2.
I have tagged them both to the same apple id.
Is there a way that I can keep some apps on the phone and others on the i Pad and only few common to both of them?
    Thanks in advance.

Click here, use the instructions to turn off the automatic downloads, and then delete the unwanted applications.

  • Same Apple ID, two devices. How do I have different iMessage accounts on each?

I share an Apple ID with my brother, but since we have separate devices, I want to separate our iMessages.
I have already put both email addresses on them, and changed setting so that it says we are only receiving for one on each ipad, but I am still getting his messages, and he is still getting mine. We just need to get our own on each
Any ideas on how we can do this??
    Thanks ☺️

  • Apple Mail, multiple devices with POP

    Cheers folks.
I admit, I'm not much of a Mac user, so please bear with me on what might be a "silly" question. I've been browsing and Googling this issue and have yet to find a reasonable answer.
Someone I know was having issues with her email. She has three devices; iPad, iPhone and MacBook Pro. Her email is via POP. All three had been working just fine until she returned from a short vacation, when her email was _retrieving_ just fine with the iPad and iPhone, but not her MacBook. She could send emails via the MacBook without any problems, and I found the option to check connection in Apple Mail (connection doctor, I believe it's called?) which showed all authentication was going through just fine, so I could rule out bad password (she'd changed her iTunes password while on vaca). But no matter what we did, she couldn't receive emails on the MacBook. Oh, and of course I verified that she had the correct mail server info and credentials, which were all set as she hadn't touched the device quite a few days.
I verified that her Apple Mail was set to leave messages on the server for 30 days, and checked her POP settings on the iPhone and iPad (info from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3228) to ensure they were doing the same. All were. Then, on a whim, I powered down her iPad and iPhone. That did the trick. A week's worth of emails just leapt into her inbox.
Now, this has me curious. While I don't often support users who use Macs or iDevices, it has tweaked my interest on what might be the cause. Has anyone else run into this, or is there a readme on the subject? I'm sure someone will ask me for assistance with these things as more and more friends and family are iPhone and iPad users.
Thanks in advance for any help.

  • One Apple ID, Multiple devices

Getting married soon and joining two Apple households. We will have an iMac, iPad, MacBook and two iPhones. Is it possible to have one apple Id for all of these computers/devices?  Thanks in advance.

Since you are allowed to share purchases between accounts via Home Sharing in iTunes, my wife and I each have our own separate account and only share stuff that we like in common. It has it's own caveats, (like ninja purchases without notifying the other, ending up in a double purchase) but so far works for us.
    Added:
As for the single shared account and iCloud, I beileve there was a setting that allowed you to stop auto-downloading.
You can always go to iTunes / Purchased and manually download things you would like.
Hopefully they will make it app-specific as I think it would be nice to have songs auto-downloaded (similar tastes) but not apps.

  • HT5622 how to disconnect a device from your apple account (multiple devices in one account)

I lost my ipod, how do you disconnect it from your apple account?

iTunes Store: Associating a device or computer to your Apple ID
    lost/stolen
    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.

  • One Apple account, multiple devices - customize email?

I'm setting up an iPad for my Mom and used my apple id and info to get it setup.  I created an email account for her and want her email to show up in the email (not mine). Is that possible?

Go to Settings>Mail and delete your email account(s) and add her email accoun(s)

  • How do I use the same Apple ID on two or more devices?

I try to set up an Apple ID on my iPad but I already have one set up for my iPhone which is associated with my email. It makes me use a different email address which I don't want to do

You certainly can use the same ID for multiple devices. In fact, if you do then you can share the apps and content between devices. I have an iPad and iPod and use the same Apple ID for them both.
If I were using different ID's for each  device then I'd need to buy two copies of some apps, which would just be no fun at all.

  • HT1420 how can i download an app on a new phone that was downloaded with the same apple id?

I mistakenly tried to use the same apple id to set up two phones and two iclouds. After realiing this would not work-I created a new apple id for mine, but it is not allowing me to download the same apps I purchased previously with the other phone. any suggestions?

You can use the same account on multiple devices, both for use with the stores and for Settings > iCloud - what happened when you tried to use the same account on the second phone ? You should have been able to activate the phone with it and log into iCloud with it.
If you want to download on the phone the apps that you bought with the other id then you will need to log into that other account on the phone : tap on the id at the bottom of the Featured tab and log out of it and then log in with the other account. But if you use iTunes Match, automatic downloads or redownload an account's past purchases then you might tie the phone to that account for 90 days : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627 (so you won't be able to do any of those three things on a different account until the 90 days have completed).

  • Subscriptions and Multiple Devices

Hi, please could someone let me know if it's possible to have the same subscription on multiple devices, or it's a bug.
We have a couple of iPads that are signed in using the same apple ID but only 1 device will allow you to download any issues and the other wants you to pay for them again.
Any issues that are bought seperatly can be download to any device, but for some reson the subscriptions are tied to one.
If we then produced and iPhone version using renditions, would this mean that you can only download any subcribed issues to either the iPad or iPhone not both as you would expect?
    Thanks
    Andy

    Here, Adobe wrote: http://helpx.adobe.com/digital-publishing-suite/kb/subscription-purchase-doesnt-change-fol io.html
When a subscription is purchased, the entitlement algorithm entitled all folios with publication date values that are more recent than the subscription start timestamp. If there isn't a future folio that matches this requirement, it instead entitles the most recent, previous retail folio, based on the publication date metadata.
In cases where this algorithm doesn't meet the needs of its customers, Adobe is actively pursuing fixes for future releases.
Why Adobe make a mess and the costumers need to pay the consequences?

  • Same id but diffrent device

    Same id but different device

You can use the same account on multiple devices, and you can then chose which (if any) of your previous content to download onto it (it won't be automatically downloaded) - you can use the Purchased tabs in the App Store and iTunes store (and the ibookstore in the iBooks app) to chose what to download onto it (you can't re-download audiobooks or ringtones from the store, and whether you can re-download music, films or tv shows will depend upon what country that you are in and whether they are still in the store).

  • Messaging across multiple devices

Me and my family use the same account across multiple devices. How can I make sure they do not have the ability to view my imessages and more specifically the ones connected with my phone number?

But in order to have access to the same music and apps library they need the password. Is there anyway to password protect iMessage separately or even get my phone number to not be associated with iMessage in any way?

    CREATE A NEW USER
Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in Users & Groups
Decide on whether to setup as Admin or Standard User.
Switch to the New User by logging out under the Apple in the Menu Bar or use Fast User Switching
Fast User Switching allows other users to leave current applications and windows open. Depending on RAM, you might need to log out rather than use FUS.
