I have the same apple ID on 2 different iphones and It is making me face problems; I do not want to share same contacts and calendar on both iphones. How can I solve it without losing my contacts that I synced from outlook?

Thank you, it worked but I have another problem now. When my contacts got transferred from outlook to my Iphone I lost them from my outlook account how can I retrieve them back? I have an Icloud account on outlook now with all my contacts in it, it is like they are all merged but I don't want my personal contacts to be there too, I just want my work contacts to be transferred to Iphone and remain in outlook. Please help!!!

This is the error message I receive when I try to add my phone to my Mac for proximity / FaceTime audio calling. This feature worked until I changed my Apple ID. I have updated my Apple ID everywhere I can think of updating it. I've signed out of Apple ID on my Mac, deleted EVERYTHING (calendars, contacts, etc.), signed back in, etc. I've done the same with my phone, and even done a power-down / reboot and nada. I keep getting this message from the Mac.
I can't figure out where else I should look for my old Apple ID to be logged into anything or creating problems. I've gone over my iPhone and Mac and I'm at a loss. As an aside (and yes, wrong forum), have lost the ability to do SMS forwarding since the Mac no longer receives the code from my iPhone to allow this feature to work. This was lost after signing out of the Apple ID on my Mac this afternoon.
Bluetooth is turned on for both devices. Both devices are on the same WiFi network. Both devices otherwise appear to be working correctly with the exception of the problems I'm having with FaceTime and iCloud being signed into the same Apple ID (which they are).

(By the way, I should have pointed out in my earlier posting that I'm running OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 on my Mac). I Just installed latest Yosemite update while my iPhone was switched off, and when my Mac restarted, the 'iPhone Cellular Calls' checkbox in the FaceTime preferences was checked and the problem was therefore solved. Switched on my iPhone, still fine. Relief.

Deleting an account from a device will not delete the information from the account, if that is what you are asking.

Apple ID's are not device specific, so when you changed it on the iPad 2 it changed it on the iPhone 4 as well, since it's the same account still. What you need to do is create a second Apple ID (so you'll have two accounts, one for iPhone 4 and a seperate one for iPad 2).
To create a new Apple ID on your iPad 2:
1) Go into Settings > Store.
2) If you are already signed in, tap your Apple ID on the screen and you will be given a few options, one of which is to sign out of your account.
3) After you sign out, now click the "Sign in" button.
4) Tap "Create New Apple ID" and follow the instructions on-screen.

He has to un-sing of iCloud, iMessage and FaceTime and of course you have to change your Apple ID password!

If you are using the internet then it's eating away at your data plan, irrespective of your Apple ID.

Yes, start with deleting your account on his device:
(Settings > iCloud or Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar > Your Account)
In the next step, create a new account on his device:

I *AM* signed into Facetime and iCloud using the same Apple ID. Why am I receiving this error all of a sudden? I make calls using my Mac and need this feature. I have tried disabling and re-enabling both over a dozen times. TRUST ME, it is NOT user error -- it is Apple releasing features before they are fully ready error!

i lost my ipod touch and i know it has the track my iphone app. but it also uses that same apple id as my iphone. so when i try to track it on my iphone it tells me that it found my iphone but not my ipod touch.

Or, go to the App store, sign out of your current account. Try to make a purchase and it will ask you to sign in, or create a new account.
You can do it through iTunes as well.

No. I've been using the same Apple ID on my iPhone and iPad for years without problems. If fact, if both devices are yours and you use both devices having the same Apple ID on each of them is preferable.

It prevents a thief from accessing your software and data, but unless it has iOS 7 installed it will not prevent the thief from erasing and restoring it for his/her own use.
If you have iOS 7 installed even if the thief cracks your passcode, they will need to know your Apple ID and password to use it, otherwise, it's bricked.

I do not think so, but the easiest way to find out is to try it.
edit: after rereading your post, there is not a way to try it with a broken phone. If the phone is broken, I think I would destroy it. Then it is a moot question.

My husband and I both share apps, contacts, calendars, etc and use same apple id...We both own iPhone 5's. When we each set up our iphones, on setting in siri setting and mail, contacts, calendars setting we each put contact for our info... Well the problem is that if I change mine to my info it changes it to his, and same if he changes it to his name on his iphone it changes 'my info' on my iPhone's setting.... so when using siri or mail... we cant identify each phone.... So can we still use same apple id and have separate "my info" settings.....

Short term solution, do this on both devices
Settings > iCloud > Shut off anything you don't want shared
Long term solution (actual solution)
You need seperate Apple IDs for iCloud. iTunes and iCloud are not the same.
Create a new Apple ID > https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/
On one of the devices go Settings > iCloud > Delete Account > Sign in with the new Apple ID
This will seperate your Contacts, Calendars, Messages etc.
You both can continue to use the same Apple ID for iTunes and share apps and music

I upgraded both my ihpone and ipod to iOS5 and now both devices are telling me that my apple ID is already being used when I try to sign in
any ideas? I have always used the same ID so I can have purchased apps on both devices

What isn't obvious is that you can use different Apple IDs for different functions on your iPhone; for example iCloud, iTunes & App Stores, Game Center, iMessage and FaceTime can all have different Apple IDs from each other.
If you use the same Apple ID for Find my iPhone then both phone's locations will show up at https://icloud.com/find. Which can be good or bad, depending on your situation.
If you use the same Apple ID for iTunes & App Stores you can have the same apps and music on both phones; some or all of them.
You probably want different Apple IDs for iMessage and FaceTime; otherwise, you will get each other's messages
Also different for Game Center.
