Same artist name displays multiple times on iPod

I have about 24 cd's of Miles Davis on my iPod, but his name appears twice, with the total amount of cd's split between the two Miles Davis'.... any idea as to how I can combine them? I've tried renaming the artists' name but that did not work.

Make sure there isn't any blank spaces in the artist name. This could cause the multiple listings.

Same artist is shown multiple times

In iTunes, I downloaded a song not through the iTunes store, then added the .mp3 file to iTunes. When I enter in the artist information for sorting, it lists that artist separate from the same artist I've added in the past.
I am 100% positive that the sorting fields are exactly the same, no extra spaces anywhere or incorrect spelling. Is there any reason that this would be happening if the sorting fields are exactly the same?
I also tried consolidating the files, and iTunes put the new song and the previous songs into the same Artist folder, but still separates them in iTunes.
Edit:I looked at the ID3 tags, and the tags for the old songs were v2.3, and the tag for the new song is v2.4 . Would that be the cause?

Well after some googling around, I figured out the answer.
Yes, the difference between the versions of the ID3 tags was the exact problem. Apparently iTunes doesn't like the different versions. I solved the problem by getting an ID3 tag editor, changing the version of the new song from v2.3 to v2.4, then like magic, iTunes sorted them together.

Same calendar event displaying multiple times

Hi, I currently see the same calendar event three times in different colors. I am utiling active sync and am on firmware 2.1. This started happening recently therefore I know this is not a firmware issue.
I have blown away my account and re-established it. Anyone have any ideas.

Same Artist Listed Multiple times on iPod..

Before anyone tells me about changing the artist info of the song, I know about that. The problem is not the file info, I haven't changed the artist's info in about 6 months but all of sudden, on my iPod only not iTunes, the same artist is listed about 10 times. I only have one album of the artist on my iPod, and like I said the files haven't been edited in months. I know its not a serious problem, but it is annoying scrolling through the same artist and I am hoping my iPod is becoming corrupted. Anyone experience the same problem?

I had posted my question under the itunes post about a week ago and heard nothing back.
In my case, after the recent update I added a new album to an aready existing artist in my iTunes, synced and the next time I used the ipod , I noticed it had the same Artist 3 times, identical playlist, album tiltes, and tracks!
I've unchecked the artist, synced, and as expected they go from the ipod.
I check them back on and they appear 3 times again after syncing.
The only thing I have yet to do is a total restore. But with 60gigs of video audio and photos, its a bit of a pain!
Im getting very wary of these Itunes updates, remember the infamous -48 error that had every one baffled for about a month?
In my case the artist in question is New Order. I've renamed all my NO tracks to New Order2 as the artist, synced and the artist comes up twice!
I've renamed them back to 'New Order' and clicked on 'Album artist' to be 'New Order' also and re synced and I get back 3 in the list!!!

Simple Event being Displayed Multiple Times

I have a simple event from the past that is being displayed multiple times. There are no other UIDs that are the same in iCal and no other event has the same SUMMARY name.
This particular event shows up 9 times. I can also reproduce the result from Automator by searching the specific calendar and looking for events in the date range.
The event is as follows:

I am not very familiar with the format but it looks pretty straight forward.
The calendar is being synched via Mobile Me and is shared by another two computers. Not sure why this should be relevant since the entry on the computer and on Mobile Me both show this duplication of the event.
The reason I was looking at all was because of the hangs in iCal since I set the sync to automatic.
Any ideas welcome,

If all the records you are displaying in your report
truly are duplicated, you could try check off 'select distinct records'
from the File --> Report Options menu. While this may solve the problem for you, it would be worthwhile to determine if you are actually joining your tables correctly.
likely the records aren't an exact duplicate and the problem is with your join criteria. To verify this you can: start by removing table b from the database expert altogether. does
that solve your problem of multiple rows? If it does, you are not joining to table b correctlyIf you still have
multiple rows, loan_id on its own must not make a record unique. Is
loan_id duplicated in either of your tables? Just because loan_id is a
primary key does not necessarily mean it is unique - often a record
will have 2 or more primary keys and only when all primary keys are
used is the record unique. If you display all of the columns
from both tables, you will hopefully see some (maybe just one) columns
where the value is different between your seemingly duplicate data.
You may need to join on this value as well.as for the type of join you are using (inner, not enforced) you should be fine. Good luck

I'm using jdeveloper 11.1.1.2.0 with ADF 11g.
I have to display the values in jsf frm table where i'm using DislayCertDetailVO . In dis VO i'm having a column no.of certificaties .taking dis column value when i navigate to other page jsf by selecting a specific row. here i have to display the selected row in multiple times based on the no.of.certificates column value.
I want to display specific row to display multiple time to repeat same row in a table in jsf based on the value from bean or table in database.

Hi, Trying it once more to give more clarity of my scenario.
I have to navigate from 1 screen to the other by picking a given table record/row from the 1st screen. While displaying the record on the 2nd screen the catch is that, I have to display it as many times as the value in a cell of the selected record.
eg.
screen 1
col1 col2 col3
2 order1 item1
[next]
On clicking next it should look like
screen2
col1 col2 col3 col4
order1 item1
order1 item1
where col3 and col4 will be editable by the user and col1 is the value depends how many times i have repeat the row/record

Same way you select multipl items anywhere else.
Hold ctrl and click the items you want.
If they are in consecutive order, click the 1st then Shift click the last.

highlight the tracks in iTunes, right-click and get info. this window will appear
edit the album artist field. the artwork box will be empty. put a tick in the little box next to it and hit ok.

The same podcast shows up multiple times

In iTunes, the same podcast shows up multiple times. There is only one copy of the file on my computer, and the file it located in the right location, but in iTunes, the same podcast is repeated two or more times. When I delete a single podcast and try to play its copies, iTunes notifies me that it can't find the file. I believe this happens when I use the import folder utility and add music in the iTunes music default location (which includes the podcasts as well as the music I want to import). Does anyone know how to keep this from happening?

Well, the easiest way would be to stop using the import folder utility. Sounds like you're adding the podcast multiple times. You're probably doing it to other files as well...

Artists show up multiple times in Artist listing

When I get a listing of songs by artist on my iPhone, some artists show up multiple times in the list. It's not that way on my computer. For instance, Death Cab for Cutie shows up twice, with different albums listed with each. However, some albums show up in both listings, but each with only partial selections of the songs on that album. So the first instance of DCC has album 1 with tracks 1-4 of the album and the second instance of DCC has album 1 with tracks 5-11.
I went so far as to highlight all my DCC songs on iTunes on my computer and pasted DCC into the Artist line of each song and then re-syncing. No change.
Any clues?

Just wanted to add to this problem. I'm having the problem with Death Cab for Cutie and Kings of Leon. They show up twice on the artist list on my iPhone, but only once on my computer.
My biggest concern is that it's taking up twice the space on my phone.
If anyone has a solution to this it would be great!

When I add artists to my ipod/iphone the artist name displays twice

When I go to add artists as a group to my ipod nano or iphone 4, the artist name comes up twice spelt differently. eg I see, "Black Eyed Peas" and "The Black Eyed Peas" from the Artist check list. Please note these songs are not on my iphone/ipod yet, this is me merely looking to select and add them to my iphone/ipod. Some of the songs I have by The Black Eyed Peas are from different albums but I have ensured they are all sorted by "The Black Eyed Peas" under "Get Info". I've also set the tracks to be 1 of 14 for one album and 1 of 1 for the songs that I got from compilation CD's.
I've found multiple help pages but none of them fixed the issue I am having. I am using iTunes 12.0.1.26 for windows 7. Can anyone fix this? It's itunes that's the issue it's not the device I am tying to sync it to.

Artist Name listed 3 times on my IPod

I purchased Bruce Springsteen's Magic from Itunes. After the download, I noticed that Bruce now appears 3 times on my "Music" by "Artist" list. Each of the 3 listings have the same 45 songs noted under them. This was never a problem until I downloaded Magic. Any ideas?

Select an artist in the 'view' & the same album is shown multiple times

Hi, my top 'view' has Genre, Artist, Album as selection criteria. If I select 'The beatles' in the second pane (Artist) all Beatles albums are displayed but multiple times. E.G The album is shown 16 times, with one track on each entry. I just want it to show each album once in the main view ?
Can this be changed or can I reset all settings ?
Any help appreciated.
