Same BOM at SD level

Hi All,
I have a confusion while making BOM masters in system. there are by default two BOM usages in system a) BOM Usage '1' for Production and b) BOM Usage '5' for Sales and Distribution. my question is :
1) Whatever is produced by production department, the same set is issued for sales. Do I still need to create two same sets of BOM in system with different usages in CS01? (one for production and another for Sales?)

Create BOM in CS01 with usage 3-Universal OR 5-sd.If you are creating BOM and you have mutiplevel , please make sure that , you have all the BOM level with usage as 3 OR 5
Basically , if you have header BOM Usage -3 where as your Sun-Assmbly SD BOM usage as 1 -Production , then BOM wsill not explode till the lowest level because usage is different .
You can also create SD BOM using Tcode : CS61
Specify Sales Order, Item , Material, BOM Usage 5 in CS61 and create the same.
Activate SO/WBS BOM active under BOM explosion in OMIW or OPPQ

I have a BOM with the following setups -
BOM_A components are BOM_B, Comp_A1, Comp_A2
BOM_B components are Comp_B1, Comp_B2
The need is to have an a BOM with components Comp_B1, Comp_B2, Comp_C1. if I create this as an Alt of BOM_B, how can I use this alternate in BOM_A?
Can anyone please let me know if there is a way to specify the alternate of BOM components in multi level BOM?

Can you please specify the exact business requirement.
Why this is required at BOM Level?
If BOM_B (comp_B1,comp_B2 & comp_C1) is Alt. bom & WIP job completed using this Alt. BOM then syste will take care / consider valuation as per Alt. BOM for first level bom (BOM_A) WIP job.

Bom Explosion first level, if first level having phanthom it has to explode

Dear All,
Kindly tell any function module is available for BOM explosion first level.
if first level having any sub assembly part, bom not to explode below level.
if first level having any phanthom material, it has to explode below level, in this phanthom material having any below phanthom material part of bom, it also explode below level.
it means only phanthom material has explode below level, no sub assembly part.
If any functional module is available for this bom explosion.
i tried functional module - CS_BOM_EXPL_MAT_V2, but if i put "X" in field - MEHRS, sub assembly part also exploding below level.
kindly help on this.

Ans: Do not set this MEHRS indicator. This will explode the BOM to first level.
Then add another loop on first level materials to check if any of them is phantom and explode the phantoms using same FM module in a loop. Follow this until all are done.

Same BOM for 2 FERTS

Hi SAP Gurus
I have some 8 components (all stockable items) for a particular export FERT which is catering to a particular export customer..
Due to some obvious reasons, if the same FERT goes to other overseas customers, I am suppose to show a different FERT part number. By maintaining the same BOM of one FERT, how can I do OBD for the alternate FERT part number, thus the stock of 8 components should also reduce??

Do you mean to say you want alternative BOM's or else
simple BOM,that's at one moment or one fixed point it should
be having only one BOM ,with a revision level?
See for deleting or modiying the BOM with revision level you
need to use ECN - Engineering Change number.
So whenever you are using an ECN for modifying the
BOM,enter the revision level - in the field reason for change
while creating the Change number in CC01 or using change -
CC02.
So this is one way of handling this issue.
Please check & revert back if anymore help is needed.

I understood that you are expecting the full cycle for special procurement key 52. See the below steps for the same.
1.     For your SFG good you have to set the SPK 52 in MRP 2 material master. This has to done for all SFG goods.
2.     SPRO Settings t code OPJH
If the indicator set and not set ( Collective order with automatic goods movements)
You always set this indicator if you want to treat production orders that are linked to collective orders in the same way with respect to costs as production orders that are not linked to collective orders.
If this indicator is set and if you have used the special procurement key for the secondary requirements of a material to be produced to define that a collective order is generated then there are automatic goods movements between the production orders in a collective order. This means that a subordinate production order delivers the material he produces to stock. At the same time as the goods receipt posting a goods issue posting is made for the superior order. When the goods movement is
posted
costs are credited from the subordinate order
costs are debited to the superior order
If this indicator is not set then, in the case of collective order processing, there are no goods movements between the individual
Production orders. The costs collected for each order are then settled
to the superior order in period-end closing.
These are the main steps if you have any query, donu2019t hesitate to revert.

How can l keep the same track mixer volume levels in logic when bouncing a project ? HELP !!!

When l bounce a project, all of the mixer levels return at the defult level automatically, they do not stay at the levels l require (levels l have previously set for each track). Which means l do not get each track at the volume l need when it is made into an mp3.
Below is an example from a help-discussion website with someone who has the exact same problem as me. However, none of the suggestions the people have made on it will resolve the on-going problem for either of us :

I gave the most probable cause/solution in that thread:
Open the event list (E), select and remove all MIDI CC [b]7[/b] messages from all tracks/regions.
To select all MIDI CC 7 messages in one region, first select one, then hit shift-S.

Java Add-in System Copy - same Java Support Package levels ?

I'm looking at performing a standard SAP Netweaver 04 SAP Web Application Server system "refresh" procedure. I plan to copy the production system ( SAP WAS 640 ABAP+Java addin )to an already installed QA system that was installed originally exactly the same as Prod. Both have the same components installed and the ABAP stack Support package levels are identical. What I've found is that the Java Add-in Support package levels vary. Is it possible to perform the system copy "refresh" if the Java components differ. ( Prod J2EE is 640 SP13, QA is SP14 and Adobe & ESS/MSS components differ ).
I've looked through the system copy guides and the NW04 SR1 system copy OSS note 785848, but can't find anything about this situation.
Hopefully someone else out there can tell me if it's possible, without first patching Production to the same levels as the QA system being overwritten.

u can do that w/o applying the patch ..but after doing system copy u have latest SP13 as of u r PRD server instead of SP14 in QA....if required then u can apply it again in QA....SP14.

Regarding fetching a BOM's top level material

Hi friends,
We have a requirement wherein we are supposed to fetch the top most level material of a component. I am aware that to do the reverse process i.e. to find the component BOMs for a material we have the FM "CS_BOM_EXPL_MAT_V2".
But here our input is the component number and its corresponding plant. For this component we need to fetch the top most level material by looping at stpo and mast tables.
Also I would like to know if there is a direct function module available to get the top most level materials.
If anybody has worked on this logic/requirement before kindly provide your valuable inputs.

List BOM till 2nd level

Dear All,
I'm trying to create a query in SQVI - my aim is to list BOM till the second level.

Inserting MAST-STKO-sTPO + MAST_2-STKO_2-STPO_2 will not list parts like component 'C' (i.e. parts that have no BOM).

Now i have understood your requirement.
There is standard report (transaction CSMB)...in this obe give the selection criteria " Max explosion level" as per your requirement for a multilevel BOM.
This report will display the BOM upto the selected level.
If you want to develop Z report with using SQVI the you can use the reference of this CSMB report (BOM browser).
WIth BOM explosion number you can limit the explosion to the assemblies..not to the material level.

2 variables for same characteristic in planning level in BPS

Hello,
I would appreciate your help implementing this scenario: a user has access to certain versions and should be a able to copy data between 2 of those versions.
We have 4 versions on our master data: 001, 002, 003 and 004.
A certain user should be able to access versions 001, 002 and 003, and should not be able to access version 004.
So we have an authorization object applied to that user with:
-> 0TCAACTVT EQ 03
-> 0TCAIPROV EQ <real time infocube>
-> 0TCAVALID CP *
-> 0VERSION EQ 001, 002 and 003
Then, users should be able to copy data between versions.
We created 2 variables on planning area, named ZVERSOLD and ZVERSNEW, with these characteristics:
-> Characteristic: 0VERSION
-> Replacement Type: USERVALUE User-defined values
-> Restriction of Values Required by User: enabled
-> Input Allowed by User: enabled
So this particular user should only see those 3 versions when pressing F4 when filing both variables.
After that, we created the planning level with the u201Ccopyu201D planning function.
But now, on planning level, we need to restrict 0VERSION, but we have a problem because we are not able to restrict it using 2 variables (ZVERSOLD and ZVERSNEW). Only one.
If we donu2019t use any variable, user gets an authorization error because he is not able to access to all data due to authorizations.
Does anyone have a way to avoid this issue? Should authorizations be defined in a different way? Should variables be defined in a different way?
Hopefully I exposed all required details to get help, and that my question wasnu2019t too much confused.

If you restrict the VERSION with variable ZVERSNEW for target version then the function should work. But if you get any error related to reading reference data for the source version then you can create a new variable of type exit and populate it with the values selected by the user in two variables ZVERSOLD and ZVERSNEW using the two APIs :
API_SEMBPS_VARIABLE_GETDETAIL - to get the current value of the two Variables
API_SEMBPS_VARIABLE_SET - to set the Variable Values for the Exit type variable

BOM explosion/stock level check

Is there a way I can check for stock levels of all finished good's components? For example, if I need to place a production order for a finished good, how can I see all material numbers that finished good is comprised of, along with all their stock levels?

Hi,
Kindly check the Transaction MB52.
In the selection screen, give the plant or storage location & the material type of the Finished goods.
In the selection screen, in "Display Options" select Non-Hierarchial Display.
Then execute or F8.
You get a output list of the materials along with the stock-level.
Then, goto change layout & select the required details for output & save the layout.
