Same color profile looks different on different users

My main user account displays colors differently than the other accounts I have on my iMac. I've eliminated all custom Colorsync profiles from the Library folders of the user accounts, so all users are using the standard iMac profile. There is a very clear difference when viewing the same TIFF or Photoshop files with the same applications but from different user accounts. For what it's worth, my main account displays much higher contrast than the other accounts.
I'm not sure what is making my main account behave differently from the others, but I'd like to get rid of it. (I removed two com.apple.ColorSync*.plist files from my main account Preferences folder, but this had no effect.) Anyone have any ideas?

You may well be better off asking in the Panther forums as the users there may have more specific ColorSync experience.

I have this problem and not sure how to solve it so I need your help. I needed to rework one wallpaper and elements I needed for it came embedded in a pdf file so I needed to crop them from it. I used Photoshop and rasterized that pdf file and then cropped those two elements from it including their dark grey background (elements are on the same page). After I positioned them in InDesign I wanted that background on which they are looks the same as background of the elements I cropped so I used eyedropper tool to get the same color. Pdf I exported looks fine but when printed on laser printer you can clearly see borders of cropped elements and different color in the background. Is there some option I'm missing to get it to look flat? Many thanks for help!

Illustrator or Photoshop. I thought it depends only on elements used -
if they are in CMYK or RGB. I think that this part with color profiles
is most confusing part of preparing documents for priniting, I'm not
sure which settings use so that files stay as they are when transfering
them to another computer.

Same colour profile, but different users have different colour output!

Installed Snow Leopard on a new Mac mini. Migrated two users from a Leopard install, made one fresh user.
Sticking with the default profile for my monitor (HP 2159m), the freshly-made user matches the colour at the login window. The two migrated users, despite having the same profile selected, show darker colour than this. What gives?!
Tried the guest account, and that matched the login window too. Can only assume this is a preferences issue or something, but having deleted some likely-looking plists (~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.ColorSyncCalibrator.plist, ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.ColorSyncUtility.plist and some .GlobalPreferences files in ~/Library/Preferences/ByHost/), nothing has changed. These two users still have odd colour.
You can watch it change. The new user will stay the same from the login window while the Finder loads, but for the migrated users the colour noticeably darkens immediately after the login window disappears. I'll reiterate: System Preferences claims they've all got the same profile selected.
Any ideas?

In case anyone else finds this, I discovered the root of my problem.
The users with the odd, inconsistent colour profiles had got "Increase Contrast" turned on in Universal Access. Both only slightly, both by the same amount. Highly suspicious, as I know these different users had not changed this setting. Wonder if it's a migration problem. Anyway, colour is now consistent.

I'm using Photoshop 13.0.1, Windows 7, to print images using custom color profiles made with an XRite colorimeter. However, when I print the image using Printer Manages Color, it is not the same as Photoshop Manages the colors and selecting the Canon ICC profile that (Canon 7200 MP2) that is the same as the printer managed settings. Why are these prints not the same if the same color profile is being accessed??

What happens if you soft proof in Photoshop and InDesign on screen: View > Proof colors. Do you proof with the same profiles, both simulate paper and black on?
I can simulate Proof Colors (working CMYK), but not simulate Paper, both in Indesign and Photoshop.
Problem is: SAME settings in Photoshop and Indesign BUT the image displayed in Photoshop is brighter and more saturated.
So which image should I correct after?

Besides calibrating you rmonitor:
Make sure that in PS you have selected ProPhoto RGB as Working Space.
Go > Edit > Color Settings.
LR uses ProPhoto RGB and tht cannot be changed. So you have to make sure that PS uses the same Working Space.

I'm not sure whether I understand your question. If one user changes a record then you would like other users to see those changes. Normally those changes will be visible to other users when they refresh their browser, after the first user has committed changes to the record. I you want to be sure that the same row isn't updated at the same time by to different user, you need to configure some locking (pessimistic locking) - this depends of what technology you use. In EJB3 pessimistic locking is performed by adding a version to every entity object. If you are using ADF, the framework is able to handle either pessimistic or even optimistic locking.
If you want the changed row to be updated in other users browsers without any user interaction by these users, you should take a look at Reverse Ajax (ex. DWR http://ajaxian.com/archives/reverse-ajax-with-dwr) - or Ajax in general. But you will never get a realtime solution, where changes is visible in other users browsers right after each record update.

Have your wife log in to her user account on the laptop. Launch iTunes, then connect her phone to the computer with the USB cable. Sync. That should put back all apps and media. Since you already upgraded her to iOS 5 she'll have to manually enter all her settings and preferences, and organize her home screens.

Usually, if two users try to update the same row at the same time, you want the first to commit to succeed, and when the second commits, they should fail with the error that the row was being concurrently updated. They you may want to show them the new row values and give them the opportunity to merge their values with the new row values...

You can't; not if the phones are sharing the same iCloud account. If you want to keep your data separate, migrate one of them to a different iCloud account. (You can continue to share the same iTunes ID.)
To do this, go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account (this won't effect the other phone), choose Keep on My iPhone, sign back in with a different Apple ID to set up a new account, turn on your iCloud data syncing, then choose Merge to upload the data to the new account. You can then go to icloud.com from your computer and delete the other person's data from each account.
Another option if you're only concerned about not sharing contacts but wish to share everything else, is to set up a second iCloud account on one of the phones and sync contacts with the secondary account. To do this, go to Settings>iCloud, turn Contacts to Off and choose Keep on My iPhone. Then go to Settings>Mail,Contacts, Calendars>Add Account>iCloud, sign in with a different Apple ID to create the secondary account, and turn Contacts to On. You can then go to icloud.com from your computer and delete the other person's contacts from each account.

You need to ask the printing service provider. Dealing with color totally depends on the printing process involved and of course the machines used.

Adobe Color CC color theme looks different in Illustrator

Whenever I import color themes from Adobe Color CC, they look different in Illustrator. The cmyk values are the identical but the colors just aren't the same. I guess it has something to do with my color settings in Illustrator but I can't figure out what it is. Here are my color settings:

That would be a real problem.
You're working with RGB colors on screen when you experiment. Browsers tend to not color manage anything so after the conversion what would you get?
On top of that: printing is different in each country, on each printer, on each paper, with each ink. You can't use the one conversion that suits all needs. Color management for this kind of world wide used web app would be really complicated. And I don't even think of all the people who don't know how to set it up correctly.

Authorization of different project profiles to different users

Dear Experts,
i have different project profiles which are to be assigned to different users. can any body tell how to restrict one user from using the profile other than the profile assigned to him.
Any pointers on this will be highly aprreciated.

I think whatever profiles are assigned in SU01D for a user, he will only have access to that profiles and for the other profiles user will get No Authorization Message

LabView hangs when trying to load the same VI with a different user logged onto Win2k

When 'User A' is logged onto Win2k, a particular VI loads and runs fine. When 'User B' logs onto the same Win2k box, LabView hangs when trying to load the VI.
I'm also not seeing the setup channels in the Data Neighborhood in MAX when logged on as 'User B'. I tried loading the configuration when logged on as 'User B' that I think is being used for 'User A', but nothing happens.
Where are the configuration files (of whatever type) that tell LabView which user is logged on?

There are no configuration files that tells LabVIEW what users are logged on. It is Win2K permissions settings that allow different users access to different folders and applications. Try changing the permissions for the LabVIEW folder and see if that doesn't fix your problem.
