Same layout differerent Data source

Hello,
Here is the setup :
I have a couple of reports that have data being fetched from 2 different sources : database and XML files.
1.The Layouts for both of them are exactly same, just the Data sources are different.
2. I have created a Top level frame each which enclose all data fields for respective data source.
3.Based on a parameter being passed,I decide which Top level frame to hide/display,using format trigger.
4.The top level frame enclosing XML source fields is located 1 inch below ( physically, not in terms of layers ) Top level frame enclosing Data source fields
Now the problem :
When the Top level frame bound to Database Data source is hidden, the top level frame enclosing XML source fields should move up, automatically. This is not happening.
I tried to anchor top level XML frame to top level Data source frame and 'Keep With Anchoring Object' property = yes of the Top Level XML frame.. It did not help either.
Can anybody provide any isights ?
Thanks.

An additional detail :
Main section of my report layout has 2 vertical panels.
My Top level frame fetching data from database is on first panel and Top level frame feching data from XML data source is on the second panel.
If I try to keep both frames on the same panel, then the second frame extends out of the panel boundry, and is tough to edit then.

  • IDOC order of columns not same as the data source

    Hi,
I am from non SAP background. We are using Informatica to pull data from SAP ECC using the Business Content for Integration by pulling data from IDOCS. Here is my problem:
    1) We identified a particular data source (0FI_GL_4) for full mode data pull using Informatica. However, during extraction we found that the order of ports (columns) in the datasource and that generated in the IDOC are not the same. As a result, the loads are failing due to data conversion or mismatch errors.
Question is,how do we ensure that the order of columns in the IDOC generated is the same as that in 0FI_GL_4?
    Thanks,
    R.

Did you add a System DSN or a User DSN? If you added a User DSN from your own login, the asp.net application will not be able to use it unless its application Pool in IIS is configured to run under the same credentials that you used for creating
the DSN. It's better if you add a System DSN.
Also, be careful to ensure that you are using a 64 bit DSN, unless you configure the application to run in 32 bits. If the 64 bit application attempts to use the 32 bit driver you get the same error message "Data source name not found and no default
driver specified". See this KB article:

  • Data Source path in Pivot Table changes to absolute on its own

    Hello.
I have a .XLSX file, that was created long time ago (I don't even know in which Office version, but definitely not 2013), and maybe even was a .XLS file at first.
So it's a 4 MB file with 16 Sheets and 8 Pivot Tables.
All of the Pivot Tables use other sheets from the same file as Data Source.
Data Source for some of them look like this: 'Sheet3'!$A:$E
Everything is fine when I save the file, and open it from saved file.
But as soon as I try to move the file elsewhere, or rename it, or email it - all Data Source paths change to something like this: '\Users\Sergii_Litnevskyi\Desktop\New folder\[FileName.xlsx]Sheet3'!$A:$E
And it happens with all Pivot Tables. The problem is that it links to an old file path, where the file does not exist anymore. And it links to an external file, which is not what I want.
If I Save As and select different path and filename - then it works fine. So it's a workaround for renaming and moving files, but not for sending them to other persons.
I've read some threads, and people recommend disabling "Save external link values", but it does not help. It is already turned off in my office, but it keeps acting weird.
So what I need is: Save the file, close it, rename it, move it to other place, send it over email as attachment. And then I want to have the same Data Source path in my PivotTables as I had before I saved the file. How can I do it?
My Office version: Microsoft Excel 2013 (15.0.4454.1503) MSO (15.0.4517.1005) 32-bit

    Hi,
According to your description, I suppose the issue may be caused by some reason.
Do you link the outside data source?
I think if the file moves the file elsewhere, or renames, or email,
data source paths can’t be change.
But, your data source paths add the absolute path.
Do you link the outside data source?
I recommend you zip the file and send it as Email attachment.
If the issue exists, you may save as it in a new name and test it in another computer.

I am pretty sure that I don't have any external links in the document.
However, even if I did - why would it change Data Source path for all of the Pivot Tables, when I did not request it?
I tried zipping it and sending to other person over email, but he got the file with changed data source paths.
I can even record a short video to show what happens.
Actually, I just did it. You can see the video here: http://screencast.com/t/qMBild3ck9b
It is rather big - 23.8 MB.
Let me explain what I showed there:
I opened my original file. I showed that there are Pivot Tables, whose Data Sources are in the same file, on various other sheets.
I showed this for all of the Pivot Tables in the document.
I saved the file using Save As in a different folder and under a different name (TEST.xlsx).
I then opened that saved file to show you that it is fine, and the Data Source path for one of the Pivot Tables is the same as it was in original file. It is the same for all of the other Pivot Tables.
Then I closed, and simply renamed the file to TEST123.xlsx.
Opened it, and first thing wrong - Security warning.
Then I got ‘Cannot open PivotTable source file ….’ messages. And, as I showed, now all Data Source paths have been changed to full paths of the file, that was created by Save As (TEST.xlsx) from original file.

  • Endeca data source

    Hello All,
We have one mdex (INDX) built and 3 Data sources (DS1, DS2 and DS3) configured in studio based on source systems. DS1 corresponds to source system 1, DS2 to Source system 2, etc...Additionally default data source has all of mdex without any filter
In studio, we have 3 pages corresponding to each of the sources. Page 1 to DS1, page 2 to DS 2, etc...
Now we want to add navigation for few attributes which are common across 3 data sources such that filter on one page is carried over to other pages.
I understand we need to define parent child relations such that DS1, DS2 and DS3 are children of default. Then define second guided navigation pointing to default data source. This achieves the purpose with one drawback.
when on first page, after applying filter from guided navigation of default, if we apply filters from guided navigation of child ex. DS1- it gets carried over too to other pages. I want to avoid filters from DS1 being carried over to DS2.
Per documentation, this is valid. I want to know if there is a way to avoid filters from DS1 to be carried over to DS2 with parent child relationship defined.
    Thanks

Back when I was in the services group, we used to have a custom state manager called the "Selective Refinements State Manager" (SRSM) that would help with this kind of problem. This state manager is not distributed by Oracle, but I know that there is a feature request for its functionality. You may be able to get it if you engaged Oracle services or if you found a friend that has a copy of it. If you were interested in building your own custom state manager, I can give you some ideas for it.
    1. Initialize the state manager with a list of attributes that are shared between each data source. Depending on your need, you can do this in a couple ways. Maybe you have shared attributes that are the same for all data sources. Then you just need one list. If you need a different list for each data source combination, you might configure it all in one file or maybe integrate the lists into your data source configuration. The SRSM went a step further, querying the data source on initialization to automatically find shared attributes between data sources.
    2. Extend the DefaultMDEXStateManager, overriding handleStateMerge to use your configured list of attributes to determine whether or not each function in the mdexState should be merged into a given data source's queryState. I never got deep into the details of this, but I believe that handleStateUpdate is used to push ALL updated filters up to the parent (or ancestor) and then handleStateMerge is used by each individual data source to merge filters from the parent into its own state. It's at this time that you have the opportunity to choose what gets merged.
The initialization step would have to go in handleStateMerge as well (create the attribute list if it doesn't exist already). I think that the SRSM allowed its internal attribute list to be reset when the data source was reset in the control panel. Resetting is important if your data source introduces new shared attributes that aren't already initialized.
Anyhow, that's an overview. If you did want to tackle this, you're sure to run into more subtle problems that I didn't mention here. I might be able to provide some guidance.

  • Weblogic - jndi and data source connectivity problem

Unable to deploy EJB: OrganizationEJB from sempire_bc.jar
The DataSource with the JNDI name: OrganizationDB can not be located. Please ensure
that the DataSource has been deployed
successfully and that the JNDI name in your EJB Deployment descriptor is correct.
In my console, I have created a connection pool 'oraclePool' and 3 datasource
    'jdbc.GangsterDB', 'jdbc.OrganizationDB' and
'jdbc.JobDB'. I have also specified the target server and there seems to be no
error. I have checked 'Monitor All Connection
Pools' and oraclePool is running. I still do not understand the problem that I
am getting and have no clue how to solve it.

    just looking at you weblogic-ejb-jar.xml,
your ejb jndi names are the same as the data source jndi names...this
    may be your problem.

Unable to deploy EJB: OrganizationEJB from sempire_bc.jar
The DataSource with the JNDI name: OrganizationDB can not be located. Please ensure
that the DataSource has been deployed
successfully and that the JNDI name in your EJB Deployment descriptor is correct.
In my console, I have created a connection pool 'oraclePool' and 3 datasource
    'jdbc.GangsterDB', 'jdbc.OrganizationDB' and
'jdbc.JobDB'. I have also specified the target server and there seems to be no
error. I have checked 'Monitor All Connection
Pools' and oraclePool is running. I still do not understand the problem that I
am getting and have no clue how to solve it.
    Thank you

  • Two Pages and Layout from One Data Source

    Hi
I need to find a solution where i can based on if a flag in the data is true or not generate a 2nd page which is slightly different in layout to the 1st page.
But at this moment in time i'm struggling to understand how i can even get crystal to generate a 2nd page.
Background is that our system generates a delivery note with a price on it and as a part of new legislation now there has to be a 2nd page provided for the end user. Now we have a data source linked to the report and we would just like to pass in another field which is true/false to print End User Page.
So if the flag is true i need to create a Delivery page and a end user page and if false then only the Delivery page would be generated.
I just need some guidance as to how we may achieve this.  Iu2019m ok with crystal but not really done advanced level reports hence why iu2019m probably stuck.
Thanks for any advice in advance

And i suppose i could suppress any other fields from page one based on the same flag. But ideally as they layout is common i was hoping not to have to do a subreport to lay it all out again.
Could i not based on a flag on the group footer or header say if this flag is true start a new page and then on the feilds the ones i want to hide or show say something like if page two and x is ture then show or hide as need be??

  • USING TEMPLATE IN A DIFFERENT DATA SOURCE BUT WITH THE SAME GL QUBE

Hi, I want to chance connection in a SV Workbook to another data source. As we are having several test instances I need to be able to use the same Query workbook on different instances.
I've not been able to reproduce the steps to get the SV to ask for the new instance/source.
Below is what I did before but can't get to work again. Please advice
    1. Open Excel and Open the SV Template you want to use that containing a different Shared URL (You can check this with (T) Smat View > Sheet Info. Login as User/PW: Casey.Brown/<weekly PW>
    2. Make sure SV Options Shared Connection URL is set to point to the new instance SV > Options > Advanced > Shared Connections URL, for example 'https://fapXXXX-bi.oracleads.com/workspace/SmartViewProviders' (B) OK
    3. Open Smart View Panel Navigator > Open > Smart View Panel
    4. Select a 'Recently Used' connection in the Panel that points to the new instance. If you don't have it create one by connecting to your new instance and then Disconnect All.
    5. In the Login to Fusion Applications window login as User/PW: Casey.Brown/<weekly PW>
    (B) Sign In
NOTE: You have to click on button Sign In. You cannot press enter on keyboard as this makes the login window to pop up again. This is a known issue.
    6. In the Connect to Data Source pop up window login as User/PW: Casey.Brown/<weekly PW>
    (B) Connect
A pop up window 'Smart View' will pop up: 'The worksheet contains data from prior operation. What do you want to do with the contents of the sheet?
-> Clear sheet contents and POV
-> Reuse sheet contents only (Free operation will take place, existiong POV will be lost.)
-> Reuse sheet contents and POV (New ad hoc connection/Smart Slice must be consistent wit existing contents.)
    7. Select 'Reuse sheet contents and POV
Depending on seeded data member changes you may receive 'Input Grid contains unknown Memebers' pop up window.
    (B) OK
If you get above you need to correct unvalid members.
For example removing Budget-Budget and replace it with Budget- for the Scenario dimension. Then you will be able to use the sheet with the new data source.
Please advice on what step is needed to get the system to provide the pop up window 'Smart View': 'The worksheet contains data from prior operation. What do you want to do with the contents of the sheet?
    Thanks,
    Max.

You can only sync with one iTunes library. However, you can manage music and videos among different computer/iTunes libraries. See:
Using iPhone, iPad, or iPod with multiple computers
If you want to change syncing computers see:
Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device: Apple Support Communities
If all the media is in the iTunes library of the second computer then you can omit the transferring media steps.

  • How to create a linked data source with document libraries based on the same template?

I use SharePoint Foundation 2013, SP Designer and Visual Studio 2013 to my needs. But there are several things which i don't get.
I have a number of libraries which use the same template. I want to create a linked data source, that would contain them all, and if I add a library based on this template, the library would be added to the data sorce. Is it possible?
I tried creating linked data souces, but the view that it brings by default is limited(no sorting, etc.). How can it be modified?

I am planning to do my project on Linux with J2EE,Oracle technologies. You don't need to set up a DSN. Just use a JDBC connect string such as jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:xe

  • Can you use SQL as a data source for a project in the same way you can in Excel?

Excel allows you to create a data source that executes a SQL stored procedure, display that data as a table in a spreadsheet and have that data automatically refresh each time you open the spreadsheet. Is it possible to do the same thing in MS Project, displaying
the data from the stored procedure as a series of tasks?
Here's what I'm trying to do - I have a stored procedure that pulls task data meeting a specific criteria from all projects in Project Server. We're currently displaying this data as an Excel report. However, the data includes start dates and durations so
it would be nice to be able to display it as a Gantt Chart. I've played around with creating a Gantt chart in Excel and have been able to do a very basic one, but it doesn’t quite fit our needs.

No, You can not use sql as a data source for a project.
You have 3 options to achieve it:
    1. You can create a Sharepoint list with desired column ,fill desired data in that list then you can create a MS project from Sharepoint List.
    2. You can create a SSRS report in which you can display grantt chart Joe has given you that link.
    3. You can write a macro in MPP which will take data from your excel. In excel you will fetch data from your stored procedure. write a schedule which will run every day to update your data or
create an excel report in which will update automatically and write macro in mpp which will fetch the data then publish it so that it would be available to team members.

  • 2 data sources in same chart in Visual Composer

Hoping you can answer a question for me.
Do you know if there is a way in Visual Composer to combine the output of 2 data sources into the same chart or table?
Here is an example of what I am after.
Inside BW, we currently have sales history for the company (i.e. monthly sales numbers). We can use a BW query as data source for this data.
Now we have found some interesting web services that provide 'market' type data,( i.e. some economic indicator) that we'd like to corrolate to these sales. We'd like to also chart the monthly value of this external indicator on same chart. I can use an external web service as a data source for this data. Howveer, VC seems to only allow me to send  the output of this service to a separate chart/table. This is not ideal. I'd rather be able to incorprate in same chart.
If this is not possble, can Web Application designer consume web services? If so, I'd be fine with doing whole application with this tool.

    Hi Brad,
Technically it is possible to combine to data souces using COMBINE, UNION operators. So the resulting table contains columns of two data souces.
You can use this resluting table to create a chart.
I have not checked this uisng web services. But it should be possible.
    Thanks,
    Venkata

  • Logical column using data source from 2 generations of same hierarchy

    Hi experts,
I'm using Essbase as my data source in CEIM physical layer,
and I have a hierarchy called "Entity" which contains different level of companies,
in Generation 2 I have only one member called "group totals" and in Generation 3 are 5 members representing 5 different industries,
I need to use these total 6 members as slider on the top of the view(a Dial),
and the measure I want to show is scaled in rate, which I can't simply sum up those five members in Gen3 to get Gen2 measurement.
I tried to create a logical column using Entity-default(the alias table) as datasource, it worked but was not sorted in outline style.
I tried to sort them using calculate items in selection steps, but calculate items seemed cannot be shown as section or slider.
So I wonder if I can simply create a logical column that sourced from different generations(in this case, my Gen2 and Gen3) of same hierarchy,
is it possible to do such things?
    Thanks for reply.

You could try General Database Discussions the main db foum.
What are you using to migrate your database? Why is it being mapped from varchar2(8) to varchar2(32). It sounds like someone/something is intervening here.

  • ArrayCollections with same data source

    Hi Everyone,
Recently I got in a project which use Tree objects to visualize and manipulate objects. The data source of this object must to be the same but with different visualizations. In some views this tree will be filtered and in other places it won't. The data source must to be kept consistently, if an object is update in a tree, it should reflect the updates in the other Trees.
My question is quite simple, does ArrayCollections are really expensive objects in terms of memory even using the same data source? Or does it have to do with the fact they are manipulating different datasources as well?
    Please share your experiences.
    Thanks

    Hi,
ArrayCollection is a very useful construct.
    http://blog.flexdevelopers.com/2009/03/flex-basics-arraycollection.html
Just make sure you clean the open nodes and it will perform fine.

  • Different Info Packages for the same data source.

    Hi Team,
I have a question, which i asked before that but i ended up with different solution.
I want to load 02.2002 to till date into ODS. Data source is 0FI_AR_10.
My boss wants in this way .
    1) one infopackage for 02.2002 to 02.2005 with init.
    2) one infopack for 03.2005 to 07.2008 with init for the same datasource.
    3) one info pack with no selection criteira.
What will be the result ?
My guess is, Once we do init for the time period 02.2002 to 02.2005 ,
the system with note the timepreiod for the Datasource.
When i try to do Init for the second, the system will say init already exits for the data source. And it will not allow me to do init for the second selection.
Correct me if  i am wrong.
    Regards,
    -Sonti-

    Your planned InfoPackages:
    - 1) one infopackage for 02.2002 to 02.2005 with init.
    - 2) one infopack for 03.2005 to 07.2008 with init for the same datasource.
    - 3) one info pack with no selection criteira.
As the selection criteria of package 1) & 2) do not overlap, is it possible.
For package 3), you need to do it as delta update instead of initialisation.  Package 3) with no selection criteria overlaps with package 1) & 2).
Refer to the Help Documentation, which explains this quite clearly.
Link: [Maintaining InfoPackage - Tab Page: Updating|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/e3/e60138fede083de10000009b38f8cf/frameset.htm]
    >For selection criteria that do not overlap, several initialization criteria are possible for initializing the delta process when scheduling InfoPackages for data from an SAP system. This gives you the option of loading the relevant data for the delta process, step by step into the Business Information Warehouse. For example, you can load the data into BI for cost center 1000 in the first step, and the data for cost center 2000 in the second step.
    >A delta requested after several initializations, contains the super set of all the successful initial selections as a selection condition. This selection condition can then no longer be changed for the delta.
    Hope this help.
