Same old silly questions, but just to confirm!

I have some idea of the answers to my questions but the more I read in the forum the more uncertain I've become...
1. I can use the TC as an external hard drive, but what about the transfer speed? Is it similar to the speed of a USB hard drive? If it is slower, will I still be able to watch movies/listen to music files on the TC with my Macbook?
2. Can I connect TC to a computer using an ethernet cable so I can use it as a wired hard drive?
3. I can back up my computer using Time Machine, but to use TC as a hard drive as well, do I need to do something complex (for me), like 'partitioning' the TC or something?
4. I already have a wireless router (and network, I think) and don't want to stop using it. Will TC interfere with anything? As in if I start using TC will Leopard try and make me set something up?
5. Can I plug in the USB printer and use it as if it was directly plugged into my computer, including scanning functions? If I press the scan button on my printer, will the scanning software automatically load on my computer? Will any USB printer work? Is further set-up required?

1. Over a gigibit ethernet cabled connection, speed will be faster that that of a USB hard drive. For any other connection type (ie 100 Mbps ethernet, or 802.11a/b/g/n wireless, it will be slower.
2. Yes you can connect TC to a computer using an ethernet cable.
3. Currently available information is insufficient to answer this question.
4. You can connect TC to an existing network without having to change anything about your current network setup or configuration.
5. You can plug a USB printer into TC. If you connect a multifunction printer to TC, only its printer function will work and scanning/faxing will not. Not all USB printers work, and multifunction printer are among the more problematic to get even their print function working.

A Pages (.pages) document is only viewable with Apple's Pages application on the Mac, or via Pages for iCloud beta. You should export it to either MS Word (.doc/x) or PDF. The Share menu will let you do this directly into a Mail attachment.

You have likely dragged the size of the filmstrip thumbnails to a small size that prevents Lightroom from displaying the badges. Using your mouse, mouse over the top line of the filmstrip and then drag it supports to increase the size.

A new mailbox/folder - you can't, not yet. If you're using an IMAP mail account, you can create a mailbox on the server (either through webmail or desktop mail) and it'll appear on the iPad.
We've been told the upcoming iOS5 will allow you to do so (I assume, provided you have IMAP).

Why should I be using Filevault. I had it turned on for awhile after I bought the Mini, but after noticing the huge amount of harddrive space it used up, I turned it off. Now however, with my FTP running, is it something I should consider turning back on?
I've read up on Apple's site on what it does, how it would take 149 trillion years and whatnot to crack it it, encrypts and decrypts on the fly, etc. But what's all that mean for me. Can anyone put it into laymens terms on what exactly it's function is and who it prevents from doing what? If I have it turned on and I've got the login screen on, will it take them 149 million years to break go around it or something?

An Unencrypted Look at FileVault, by François Joseph de Kermadec is an excellent discussion of the features, pitfalls, and cautions regarding Filevault.
Although the article discusses Panther and is dated 12/19/2003, the concepts as they apply Tiger have not changed.
The cautions and warnings are prominent in any of the Apple Knowledge Base articles referring to the use of FileVault. If a user is unfamiliar with any aspect of FileVault, it should not in my opinion be activated.
As good as FileVault is in protecting your sensitive data, it also presents the danger of locking up your files in an irretrievable ball of one's and zero's. Backups are critical. You must ensure that you have a comprehensive backup plan. Backup and Recovery, by Dr. Smoke is a fine example of what you need to consider.

Same old logoff problem but new scenario

HI,
I login into portal from <b>Internet Explorer</b> and click on logoff and it works fine.
now, I go to <b>windows explorer (windows button + E, not Internet Explorer)</b> and type my portal url and login and then click on logoff, it doesnt logoff. also when i close that explorer and open a new session and type the url, by default it logs me in.
anybody faced this problem and any sap notes out there?
IE 6.0 SP2
EP 6.0 SP15

Yep you are correct, but its not me, but few end users got used to opening window explorer to browse the internet and they face this wierd problem when they browse SAP EP.
could you please check it in your installation, if it is behaving the same way, if you have one though?

Silly question, but i'm asking anyway

I have a clip in the timeline (along with a bunch of others). I want to delete that ONE clip, but i do NOT want the other subsequent clips to move left in the timeline, but rather stay in their place.
what's the trick to doing this?
