Same pictures duplicated on every page folder!!!

I've just noticed that iWeb08, when publishing in a folder, is making a copy of each picture you use on each page folder, even if the picture is the same!!!
For example if you're using a logo for your website, and using it on every page, it will be copied on each page folder, increasing dramatically the size of your website folder...
In the past version, iWeb was creating an images folder, where were stored all the shared pictures.
to be more precise if I use a picture called picture1.jpg on my welcome page, and then use it on my About me page, the picture will be copied on the welcome folder and on the About me folder.
This makes your website very large and slower to load on a browser, this is really annoying...
worst the pictures used on themes are duplicated for each page as well !!!!!
Anyone know a way to have a shared picture folder like in iweb 06 ?
PS:
1-All the pictures are exactly the same, not modified, resized, etc...
2-You can delete manualy the duplicate Files n each folder, but when you republish they will be re added !!!

I loaded the business letterhead template, and I see what you mean. It is a bit odd to have the address defined as a Master Object. Here's an easy way to fix it: select the address Master Object, delete it, then replace it with a text box that has the address in it. You'll need to make sure that the text box is set as Fixed On Page (see the Wrap Inspector), then move and size it the way you want. Doing it this way, the box will appear on page 1, but not on any subsequent pages.

Avoiding server duplication of the same picture used in multiple pages

I've scanned hundreds of family slides and would like to share them on iWeb grouped by person (face). I've identified family members with Faces and created Smart Albums for each face grouping. I'm concerned I will have lot of redundancy of the same picture getting published each time when that picture includes two or more people for whom I have a face album/page.
This is an area where iWeb could be a huge time saver if each time you chose to publish a page, it checked whether the included pictures had already been published to the server (on different pages), and then instead of pushing those pictures to the server again (duplicating them), it made links (references) to the pictures already on the sever. Any chance iWeb does this?
It's the same concept as Playlists in iTunes; and Events, Albums, and Faces (on the corkboard) in iPhoto--songs/pictures are not duplicated for each list or group, they're just referenced.
I guess I'm asking if there's a way to avoid duplicating pictures on the server so that pages reference the same picture when it appears in multiple pages. I suppose I could do this manually, but that seems daunting. If iWeb doesn't do this today, it'd certainly be a handy feature for a future release.

Otherwise, create some external pages where you can use the same image over and over again and embed it in the iWeb page.

My Iphoto library has recently updtaed itself with a same picture icon for every event. I backed up all my photos and deleted all the events in the library. When I imported a fresh batch of pictures the same picture appeared as the key photo. Help

iPhoto is an application and lives in your Applications folder
Your photos are in a database which by default is names iPhoto library and is in your pictures folder
I still have Iphoto on my computer.

How to locate the first insertion point on every page?

I need to paste some same anchored objects on every page for exporting RTF format.
So I need to locate the first insertion point on every page.
Then, I use the code below (make a simple example):

app.paste()
But when a file has a very long table spread over several pages, the location operation will select the insertion point before the table --- the starting point of the table.
For instance, a table start on page 3 and end on page 10
app.documents[0].pages[4~10].textFrames[0].insertionPoints[0]) can't select the first insertion point from page 4 to page 10. (In terms of scripting, the insertion point exists before the very long table starting on page 3.)
How can I solve the problem? Thanks in advance.

I dont know exactly what you are trying to do but you can try this. If you have table which runs trough multiple pages, you can first divede this tabel, that cells on separate pages would represent stand alone table. Than you can fit textframe to this table. When addressing indention poin you will get right position.
In your case when table start at 3rd and ends on 10th page you would get 8 tables in 8 textframes on its own page. If textframes are linked and table is smaller than textframe you will have problem when addressing first insertion point on 4th or any other page. That why you should fit textframe to table:

Just create the same menu system for every page... look at
using the
Dreamweaver Template feature or even a library item if the
site is a small
one. If it's a large one, then look at using server side
includes (SSI).
Once the intial page has been loaded in to the visitors'
browser, you
shouldn't see a noticeable difference in the loading of the
navigation
buttons on subsequent pages.
Yes, as the other poster mentioned, it seems you are talking
about using
frames, but I'd strongly advise against that... frames come
with problems
of their own. Just do a search of the forum for 'frames' and
you'll see
what I mean.

Printing same photo multiple images per page

Using the new version how do you print the same picture 4x on one page?

Do the following:
1 - duplicate the photo so you have the number of photos that you want on a single page.
2 - select all of the duplicates and start the Print process.
3 - select the paper size.
4 - select the Custom layout
5 - select the aspect ratio ratio you want to have or a custom aspect ratio.
6 - adjust the width and height until you get the number of images per page that you want.

Photos you take on your camera are in the Camera Roll and are like the film in a camera.
Photo Stream is an independent stream of photos from all devices that are logged onto the same iCloud account and that have Photo Stream turned on. Photo Stream photos are kept in the cloud for 30 days or up to 1000 photos, whichever comes first, so unless you have a particular photo you just don't want to stay out there for 30 days, you don't really need to delete Photo Stream Photos. They are temporary. Your device will continue to keep your Photo Stream photos from prior to the 30 day limit, but if you switch Photo Stream off in iCloud and then right back on, the only photos that will re-display in Photo Stream on that device are the ones that remain within the 30 Day/1000 photo parameter.
Collections is simply a single place which shows all of the photos that you have on your device. You do not need to delete photos from Collections. It is just a single place where you can see the contents of all of your albums.
Photos in albums that you have created on the device itself are tied to the photos in your Camera Roll, so if you delete them from the Camera Roll, it will tell you that it will also be deleted from an album.
Albums that you have sync'd from your computer should be removed the same way you got them there - by hooking the device up to a the computer you did the sync with, and un-selecting the album from the Photo profile screen.
So, really, there are only two places that you need to delete photos - Camera Roll and Photo Stream.

I have background switching unchecked in my preferences, and I have never selected it as an option. Also, when I go to my preferences, it will show the icon of the picture I changed it to, even though the desktop itself has switched back.

I would start with some basic troubleshooting.
REPAIRING DISK PERMISSIONS -
NOTE: refer to article "About Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions feature" found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1452 - for the actual apple article on these step. ----
- click finder in the bottom dock, and in the window that opens, select applications in the left column - scroll through until you see the 'Utilities' folder and double click to open it. Then double click on 'Disk Utility'
- When prompted to select a disk volume or image, select the 'Macintosh HD' in the left column
- ensure the the "first aid" tab is highlighted blue in the middle of the screen
- click the button at the bottom that says 'Repair Disk Permissions'
- this process will take a few minutes to run. It will indicate it's done, by scrolling to the bottom of the "details area" displaying 'Permissions repair complete'

If you get any other message OTHER than "The Macintosh HD appears OK", like "the Macintosh HD was repaired successfully" run the "Disk Repair" again, until it displays "The Macintosh HD appears OK".
Once done, restart the computer as normal

Firefox is hijacked to display the same ads on every page!!

I come to believe that Firefox is hijacked in my computer. I have been having trouble with pop-up ads some time back from a mysterious source called adnxs.com. I somehow managed to resolve it but now, the same old shit is back again. This time it shows the link as https://secure-sin.adnxs.com/. It does a worse thing than popups, it displays its ad on every page I visit, even for secure HTTPS sites!!
I tried scanning for it but my Avast Antivirus as well as Spybot S&D failed to pick it up.
I know the problem is with firefox only, because there was no issue when using Chrome. Can anyone pls shed any light?

I'll also let you know that I have done some cleaning afterwards, removed all cookies, disabled unnecessary toolbars and also ran system wide scan again. It looks like that put a stop to this malware. Though knowing how persistent this spyware/malware is I wouldn't be surprised if it shows its face again.

Stamps in the same place on every page

Lets say we have a 10 page electrical wiring diagram document. On each page there's space for our client's logo and address. As a service, we are now thinking of adding that logo and address before we print the document and send it to our client. I know how to add stamps, but I can't figure out how to place the stamp on just one page, and then automatically have it placed in the exact same place on all pages. Is that possible? Do I have to place the stamp on every page manually? Then they will not end up in the same position every time!
This is quite urgent. If anybody has a solution, please let me know.

We do something similar using Batch Processing. The stamp is placed on a blank page PDF in the position we want it to appear on the document. We then run a Batch process that opens the file, adds the watermark (the PDF file containing the placed stamp, flattens the layers, and prints the file. We don't save but there is an option to save the file with the stamp on when you set up the batch process.
Setting up the Batch Process can take a moment, especially making sure the stamp will appear where you want it, but it makes things very easy once you have it set up.

I'm new to Spry. I have a couple of pages and on every page I
want to have the same menu. I include the JS-Code and a suitable
CSS-File, so I have to update the menu only once, if changes occur.
Now I want to use Spry in Dreamweaver, but how can I make a
menu in Javascript? Is there a better way? How do you this?

Hi Egon,
on Dreamweaver you can insert the spry menu bar from Insert
bar. It will be generated in page the menu bar code and the links
to the js and css files. If you want to use some different links
you can link them in this page and the menu will perfectly work.
Is this what you want or I was misunderstood your problem?

Exporting document from Pages to PDF repeats the same picture throughout the document

I am creating a 4-page newsletter in Pages, and the final page has a series of jpeg photos (six of them) dragged from iPhoto onto the document. The photos are then given a Picture Frame and a shadow. I then save the document and choose FILE - EXPORT, choose PDF with an image quality of "Good". On the resulting PDF file, the first of the six jpeg images repeat in the locations where the other 5 should be. So I get a page with the same picture repeated 5 times.
Any suggestions?
I have tried changing the image quality to "better" and it exhibits the problem there as well. Note that it works fine if I choose File-Print and then save a PDF, but that results in a 65mb or larger file, and I need it to be as small as possible to email.

When I print a 4x6 color picture using an iMac with the latest operating system using a Canon MX892 printer, faint black lines appear every 3/16 of an inch. When I print the same picture using iPhoto there is no problem.

What is the resolution of the picture that you are trying to print?
Go to Image>resize>image size, read the resolution in px/in, then report back, please.
Also, are you in a position to try printing with another printer in an attempt to narrow this down?

Select all of the images you would like to print in the Elements Organizer, then go to File > Print. In Step 4, choose Picture Package from the drop-down menu. In Step 5, click the option to Fill Page with First Photo.
