Same Serial Number to multiple Materials: How to stop?

Hi,
While creating Serial Numbers (IQ04), system allows assignment of same serial number to mupliple materials.
Our requirement:
Once a Serial Numbers is assigned for a Material, system should not allow assignment of same Sr no to any other Material.

Hi,
System will never stop you assigning same serial number to more than one material and it is logical.
But still if you want to stop this then you need to develop a field exit.
This exit will work as follows
1. At the time of assignmernt of serial number system will check whether the serial number + material combination exists or not.
2. If the combination is present system will fire an error message.

Sorry Fred you are wrong.
If you have a single license you can install it on as many computers as you like. you can only activate the suite on two computers at anyone time. Work and Home or as many of us do it Desktop and Laptop. You can not use the computers simultaneously. You only have 20 activation/deactivations so use them wisely. Student versions only have one activation. You can not break up the suite installs the suite is considered one application.

Are you getting activation errors? As Ned stated , it is easier to troubleshoot if we have the specific type of error and error detail that you are getting.

I'm wondering how you have two versions with the same serial number? Volume license maybe?
In the world of single licenses an upgrade from CS4 to CS5 would get a new new number, at least in my experience. As far as installing multiple versions (but not differnt localizations, like US and ME, of the same version) no problem, and I often have multiple versions open at the same time for testing and answereing questions here on the forum.

My problem is that my mac is falling apart and I don't know how long it's still working - can be hours or can be months. I'm not sure if my next computer is mac or PC, so I'd like to know if the same serial number can be used with both mac and PC? I have understod that I can delete the program from my old computer and then use the same serial number in my next computer (Is it working that way?). So if I now buy a lisence for mac, can I use the same lisence later with PC?

I want to restrict the same serial number to be taken in the stock more than once..

At the same time I have the indicator set of auto creation of serial numbers at the time of goods receipt in serial number profile.
e.g. I posted 2 material documents (101) one with material A and another with material B with the same serial number S
when I check the serial number S in transaction code IQ03, it is showing against 2 mat. codes. I dont want this scenario to occur.

IN IQ03 , you have to put both the material number and serial number.
The serial number is tied to material number. Hence, different material number can have the same serial number.

issue is when i m genrate a sale invoice of particuler trator material t100001 with the serial number AM1005 dated 11-3-2008 .
and after 11-3-2008 again dated 12-3-2008 when i create new sale invoice of particuler trator material number t100001 then system again show me same AM1005 serial number which one i m already used in pervius sale invoice date 11-3-2008
how it can poosible if once a sale invoice genrate with paticuler serial number so why the again genrate sale invoice same serail number

So if I purchased an Adobe software that runs on Mac, and then I also installed a trial version of the software on Windows. If they are the same product, say photoshop CS5, does the same serial number applies (if it's intended for multiple users)?

We have installed CF 8 Enterprise on a 4 way Linux server.
We have installed several instances using JBoss.
We keep getting this error:

This is just a warning that other instances with the same
serial have
been discovered. It does not necessarily mean you need to buy
more. For
that you need to check the paperwork from you purchase of CF
which will
tell you for how many servers / CPUs you bought CF.

I get a "Secure Connection Failed" error with google stating "certificate contains the same serial number"

When I click on a link for a google search, I get the "Secure Connection Failed" error in Firefox. It states, "Please contact the server administrator or email correspondent and give them the following information: Your certificate contains the same serial number as another certificate issued by the certificate authority."

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, deleted the entire profiles folder, and reset Firefox. I see that the older (orphaned) article points to my router. However, I have a new router and have updated its software. There is no button to add an exception (as noted in the article), so I can't just bypass it. This problem does not occur with IE, so I have a hard time believing it is my router.
How do I troubleshoot this issue? I really don't want to change browsers.

Yes, the Lightroom license key is single user/owner.
It can be installed on two computers at the same time with one in use at any point in time.
Mac & or PC.
There is no deactivate process just uninstall from one and install on another as many times that is necessary.

I use Adobe Pro on my desktop daily at the office and now will be handling work remotely from a laptop as well. Adobe Pro is essential for my work (bates stamping, redaction, advanced editing, etc). There are no instructions that speak to this issue and I know other programs I have installed provided for both desktop and laptop access. Hi rebekah,
Adobe End User License Agreement entitles you to install a singe retail license on 2 computers at any instance.
So you can load Acrobat 9 license on the other computer too.
