Same songs always sync?

I hope someone can help me, when I plug in my touch itunes always syncs my new songs, and the SAME old ones. Even when I don't have any new music, it syncs the same set of old songs. Does anyone know why this is occuring? Bad playlist? Bad rip of a CD?

This happened on mine too and someone else told me the answer.
It has to do with the album artwork. Try clearing the artwork. Highlight the songs that are doing it, and then right click and select "clear album artwork".
Once you have done that right click again and select get info and click the artwork area and select artwork and delete the artwork from there as well.
Try resyncing to see if it fixed it. When I did it it took a few tries on some of the songs to get it to work right.
Then you can try to add the artwork back in through itunes.
Goodluck

  • Can iPod nano playback on same song after sync?

    Hello,
Everytime when I add new music to my playlist on my ipod nano, I disconnect and go back to continue to play same song on where i left off, it randomly goes to a new song after syncing?! I always keep my playlist on shuffle, could that be the problem?   It does not happen to my podcasts, which continue on where i left off whenever I sync. I'm confused, please help

To create or access a second (or more) library, hold down the Option key (or Shift key in Windows) when launching iTunes 7. In the resulting dialogue you will get the option to create a new library or navigate to the other Library.
Note: You can only have one Library open at a time and iTunes will default to the last library opened if you don't use the keyboard command to choose one: Using multiple iTunes libraries -Mac

  • Same Songs Keep Syncing, & Nothing Has Changed? ? ?

I have about 26 songs in my iPhone that sync with iTunes every single time?
Nothing has change, I do the sync, unplug, and plug it back in to iTunes, and those same songs sins again.

    Hi OzziesMAC
I have a similar problem except I have about 2,200 songs and every time I sync it keeps syncing 146 of the same songs each time. In doing so it is not updating songs that have been skipped.
I would also like to know why this happens and how to fix it.
    Anyone know?

  • Same songs re-sync over and over

    I have a 60Gb iPod Video.
I am running the newest version of iTunes on a laptop with Windows XP.
My iTunes library is located on an external hard drive.
Whenever I connect my iPod to my laptop, regardless of any other changes in the content managed by iTunes, it always re-syncs the same 280 or so songs back to the iPod. Those songs play fine in both iTunes and on the iPod, and I have done nothing to change them that would normally cause a re-sync.
Any ideas? This more of an inconvenience than anything, but it's a little odd.

I had the same situation, albeit Mac, iPod Touch, etc. The same three songs would update every time. I'm sure there must be many reasons for this but this worked for me.
I found the song, say "Smokin'" by Boston for example. Then I searched, i.e limited the iTunes window to that album. In this case "Boston". OK, now, get info and use the previous and next buttons to scroll through the songs. I noticed the artwork was different on that one song. So, I copied the artwork from a different song on that album and pasted it back in the song that looked different. If you end up with two in the artwork box, delete the one that looked different.
Now, re-sync. It will sync yet again. Now, disconnect the iPod and try again. It should work.
Now remember, I think it anything is wack, it might do that. Use the info pane in iTunes to see if something looks different.
Yeah, I've used Itunes since version 2.2 and all the sudden this happens. I don't know why. Hope this helps.

  • Autofill always choosing the same songs ?

    Hi all,
I'm the happy owner of a 2G iPod nano (first generation) that I was given a few weeks ago. I'm using it together with iTunes 9.0.1 on my mac, and I have a question about the autofill feature.
Is it normal that autofill always chooses the same songs out of my library to fill the ipod with ? No matter what I do to those tracks (listen to them on the ipod, try do delete them in "manual" mode), they always come back when I sync with autofill. I do have quite a substantial amount of other tracks that I like as well, but it feels like autofill picked once and for all the tracks it likes most
What am I doing wrong ?

Sorry about that ; "rude" is not the word I should have used ; "abrupt", maybe, would be closer to how I felt. And yes, my ipod is actually a 2GB one (2G was a typo).
Let me explain a bit more what I'm trying to achieve, and what I wanted autofill to do automagically for me
My itunes library is abuot 35GB, so there is more than enough music to choose from. This is also why I am sometimes not creative enough when it comes to filling my ipod: I choose a few albums that I know I want to hear, I sync my podcasts, but all that often leaves me with maybe half a gig left on the ipod.
When I discovered autofill I was very happy because it chose stuff for me to top up the ipod, and so I ended up with plenty of good surprises : albums that I actually like, and had not listened to for a while. But when I synced the ipod again and again, I realised that autofill did not surprise me any more ; it only chooses high-rated albums and that's it. This is why I asked (naively, it seems) if this was normal behaviour.
But if it autofill cannot do it (what a shame, that really would be a killer feature) I suppose I'll have to write it myself with smart playlists. I'll post my answer here in case people are interested. the hardest point will be to make these playlists select whole albums. We'll see.
    Cheers,
    -G

The only solution seems to be using a third-party application like NanoFibre

  • IPod stuck on same starting shuffle song after sync

I have the iPhone 3G with the latest 2.2.1 firmware but this is a recurring problem. After each sync, I notice that when I play music, it always starts with the same song every time (it's on shuffle mode always). If I remember correctly, it didn't work like that before but somewhere along the firmware upgrades, something changed and now this is the default (and annoying) behavior. Does anyone have a workaround for this?

don't have a workaround - but its a me too

  • Touch always syncs same 12 files when connected.

Whenever I connect my Touch or open iTunes with it connected, it always syncs the same 12 songs. I can watch it sync, close iTunes, immediately open it again and it will sync them again. I've even wiped all the songs from the Touch and resynced the entire library and the behaviour is just the same.
I presume that implies that something is corrupt somewhere... but what?
    Steve

Solved now. Something wrong with the artwork in those songs, I cleared it down for both affected albums and put it back in and now all ok.

  • I have bought itunes songs on an ipad with my daughter apple id. i would like to back them up on the same computer I sync my iphone with using my apple id but they will not transfer. Both iphone and ipad have only been synced on the computer mentione

I have bought itunes songs on an ipad with my daughter apple id. i would like to back them up on the same computer I sync my iphone with using my apple id but they will not transfer. Both iphone and ipad have only been synced on the computer mentioned since they were purchased. Is there any way to get the ipad music transferred to the computer?

And they were definitely purchased from the iTunes store, they show on the account's purchase history (Store > View Account on a computer's iTunes, or you can view the last 90 days purchases via http://reportaproblem.apple.com) ?
You could potentially log into the account on that computer's iTunes (Store > Sign Out to log out of your account, that will then change to a Store > Sign In option) and redownload them by clicking on the id towards the top right of the iTunes screen and Purchased on the popup :
But that will potentially tie that computer to that account for 90 days : Manage your associated devices in iTunes - Apple Support
Or do you have a different computer that you could redownload them on and then copy them over to that computer via a flash drive or memory card, and then add them to its iTunes via File > Add To Library ?

Does anyone know why this is happening and how to rectify the situation as I have tried every help setting for the last 4 hours.

I have tried everything I have read on the Internet about sync issues and restore etc and not there isn't a single song on my iPad or iPod touch. All of the songs are listed in my iTunes but are all greyed out, some have the cloud symbol next to them but lots don't and some say waiting.

  • My sis and I share the same library for iTunes but when she tries to uncheck my songs and syncs hers, my songs are synced to her iPod still making her delete my songs. What can she do?

So my sis and I share the same iTunes library on the comp, and when ever she wants to sync her music, she unchecks all my songs. But once she unchecked my songs and syncs hers onto her iPod, my songs are there still. We've unchecked all my songs manually but my songs still sync onto her iPod. I want to know what to do because she ends up deleting my songs and when ever I wanna sync my songs, it takes me forever. PLEASE HELP ME GUYS!!

How to use multiple iPods, iPads, or iPhones with one computer
Simplest way is to create a New User Account for each of you...
Each user will then have their own iTunes library.

  • Why is my mac syncing multiple version of the same song?

I wonder if anyone could help with this:
My sync takes so long sometimes and it often syncs 2 or 3 versions of the same song on loads of albums.
I have to go through manually one by one and delete them off my phone, and sometimes i only stumble across duplicates by accident.
    Its very frustrating.
Im on OSX 10.9.2 with an iPhone 5s running the latest version of iOS.
    Thanks.

eek that sounds unpleasant. Are the songs different in any way?
Are these albums using playlists to sync?
If so…check that the the playlists on the Mac don't have the duplicate copies - in this case the same file will be reused (not using extra space on the device).
Do they show as multiple files in iOS's Albums view? You may need to tap 'More…' and then 'Edit' to add the 'albums tab' to the bottom menu. Save and check for duplicates.
I'd reboot everything, backup the device to iTunes, disable music syncing to empty the device and resync to see if that helps, if it fails consider resetting the iPhone. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
Try another sync. If that is OK restore the backup & see if it comes back.

I have a library of around 1000 songs on my iTunes, I recently synced my phone and all was lost, my partner has the same songs on hers with a different sign in, but not backed up anywhere, any suggestion on how I can store her tunes in my account ??? Then sync them to mine? When I sign her phone into her account I get a message warning that if I sync the dogs on her phone will be replaced by the ones in the library! But as there are no songs there I'm reluctant to continue!!! Please help this non techi guy.!!!!!

    Hello Solid Buck,
Thank you so much for providing the details about the duplicate song issue you are experiencing.  It sounds like you would like to remove the duplicate songs that will not play on your iPhone, but when you connect it to iTunes, iTunes only shows you one copy of the song on your iPhone.
In this situation, I recommend deleting the individual songs that do not play directly from your iPhone.  I found the steps to do this on page 61 of the iPhone User Guide (http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf):
Delete a song from iPhone: In Songs, swipe the song, then tap Delete.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Best,
    Sheila M.

  • Always plays the same song

When I want to listen to one of my play list (on shuffle or not) it always plays the same song over and over and does not go to the next song in the list.
I tried re-initiating my ITouch but it has not solved the problem. I also downloadeded the 3.o version of Itunes and the new upgrade in case that was the problem. Still an issue.
    Any advice?

you haven't got the 'repeat' button selected by accident have you? (sounds daft but people have done it before and not realised)
tap the screen while music is playing to bring up these controls.
under the time and scrubber bar on the left handside, see those arrows? if they are blue (tapped once) it will repeat the whole sequence of songs (an album, a playlist, etc.) tap it again a '1' will appear on them. this repeats the current thing playing. tap it again to remove these settings.
the arrows on the right will be highlighted blue when it's set to shuffle.
the arrows on the left highlighted when it's set to repeat.
