Hi guys,

http://www.pixentral.com/show.php?picture=1TDDZ2kv0TRFDgJ1nNqSVQm25lapV
I keep getting a white circle, like the color is not there. I put a gradient in a circle following this tutorial,
http://vectips.com/tutorials/quick-tutorial-adding-gradients-to-text/
maybe is ok to place the gradient inside the text but then i cannot sample color. How can i do it?
2 - How can i make a beautiful gradient/layer effect like this logo?

Thanks for any info!
Cheers,
S.-

And another way is to simply create a normal blend from 2 rectangles, with your choice of start and end colors from your swatches. The same ones you used in your gradient. This creates a color ramp with as many complimentary blends as you need. In my illustration I used 25.
Now, choose Menu -> Object -> Expand, say OK to the dialog. You can now use the Eyedropper tool to select the colors you would like to add to your swatches. Move the blend outside of the Artboard for future use, or delete it when finished.
TIP:  if you want only a certain subset of colors, ungroup the blend after expanding it, choose the colors you want (or all), and then in the swatches pallette, from the top right drop down menu, choose "Add Selected Colors".
Menu -> Object -> Blend Options: choose your steps, then choose Menu -> Object -> Blend -> Make, or Cmd-Alt-B/Ctr-Alt-B
SORRY -- The graphic should say "25 Steps"... I changed it, which you can too, by going back to the Blend Options dialog. Check Preview to see what you're doing, and actually fit the blend directly under your chosen dot over the "i".

  • How to sample one color from gradient

    I have an object in Illustrator CC that has a gradient applied to it. I would like to use the eyedropper tool to sample just one color selected from a specific point in the gradient but when I click on the object with the eyedropper the whole gradient is picked up.
    How to I sample just one point in a gradient?
    I looked at my eyedropper preferences. Everything is checked. I didn't see an option that would let me do what I wanted.
    Any suggestions?
    Phil

    Yeah I sure did try, but unfortunately I believe it's a limitation of the operating system. Windows on Windows OS like to be contained within the window area. In this case, illustrator loses focus of the cursor when you leave the window borders. I was hoping you were on Windows and had a way around it.

  • How do I sample color from a photoshop image and apply it to an Encore menu color sets

    I'm about 3 months and many hours of tutorials into Premiere ProCC, Audition CC, and Encore CS6. Apparently the nifty dynamic links from PPro and Audition CS6 no longer work with encore, as encore was not upgraded to CC. So, I want to sample color from an original photoshop image, and create an Encore menu color set, so that my menu bttons, etc. are colored to match the main photo image in the menu. Is there an eyedropper kind of tool in Encore that would let me sample the color from the image, and then apply that to color swatches in the Encore button layers? If there is I can't find it! ~Thanks!

    Strangely enough, I started a thread on this issue a few days ago in the Creative Cloud forum.  I had to uninstall all my pre-CC adobe software to get the Application Manager in sync with the CC apps, so when I tried to use Encore, there it was gone.  So I reinstalled PremPro CS6 just to get Encore back, but when I right clicked a menu in Encore, as asked to Edit in Photoshop, it threw up an error.  The consensus was that Encore CS6 would know nothing about Photoshop CC, so after much time searching for a fix, my only option was to either reinstall Photoshop CS6, or do it manually.
    I took the latter option using Windows 7 to search for the menu, and open/with Photoshop CC.  Stan Jones, who is the Encore equivalent of our Noel, mentioned a brick-bat, but I just saved the edit file and dragged it into Encore, and it worked fine

  • I need to replace a color on my image with a specific color from another part of the image.  How?!

    I have spent over 2 hours trying to figure out how to replace a color on one part of my image with a specific color shown on another part of the image.  So far I have been able to go to "Replace Color" on my Adobe Photoshop version, but it seems that I can only change the hue and brightness of the color that it currently is.  I need to use a specific color so this does not help me.  Does anyone know how to complete the task I am referring to?
    Also, please keep in mind that I am using Adobe Photoshop 6.0, not a fancy cs version or anything.  So it's pretty old school...
    Any help/feedback is greatly appreciated!  Thank you.

    Hi brookehelene,
    You might consider making a selection the object and using a color fill layer set to the color blend mode instead of replace color.
    I used the same picture as kendallplant did and changed the color on the same flower by sampling the pink color from the flower to the right)
    (click on the screenshots below for larger views)
    1. Select>Color Range
       (i used color range because the dialog is somewhat similar to the replace color dialog, except one is making a selection instead of replacing a color)
       (there are many other ways to make the selection such as the magic wand, so if your more familar with the other selection tools you can use those instead to make your selection)
    2. Use the eyedroppers and fuzziness slider in the color range dialog to make the selection of the object.
       (in the screenshot below the white areas are selected and black areas are not)
       (your selection probably won't be perfect, but you can paint on the layer mask to refine the selection)
    3. After you press the okay in the color range dialog you'll see the selection (marching ants)
       At the bottom of the layers palette press the Create New Fill or Adjustment Layer icon
       to reveal a list and choose Solid Color.
       Then use the eyedropper to sample a color from your image and press ok.
       Change the Blend mode for the color fill layer to Color (top of the layers palette)
    4. As you can see a lot has been selected besides the flower.
        To refine the areas of color, paint on the layer mask with the paintbrush tool.
        Use white to add the color or black to subtract the color
        You can press the D key on the keyboard to get the default colors (black and white) in the toolbox
        and press the X key to switch between the two when painting on the layer mask.
    Even though the above takes longer you can easily change the color or modify the areas that you want to change the color on.
    To change the color you can double click on the color fill icon in the layers panel.
    You can also use other layer blend modes besides color such as hue, so you might try some of the others and see what they do.

  • Get color from image

    Hey people, I'm new to Illustrator and have a question. I want to use a color from an image that I put into Illustrator.
    The exact things I did with the image are the following: copied it from Windows Photo Viewer into Illustrator, then put the 'cut out' effect on it, then copied it into a new Illustrator document that has a businesscard template and resized it fit the template's margins. Now I want to kind of 'enlengthen' the image by putting a square next to it. To make it look smooth, it has to have the same color as that side of the image of course. But that's my problem, I'm not able to select the color from the image and make a new color group with that specific color. The 'get color from selected artwork' button doensn't help much since I can't click it, for some reason the mouse turns into this 'can't click here' icon every time I move it on this button.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    PS apologies for any unavoidable noobness

    To sample a color from a raster image, ShiftClick with the Eyedropper tool. (CS3)

  • How do I transfer a color from one object to another without losing the gradient?

    COLORING AN OBJECT AND SAVING THE GRADIENT
    These are my notes.
    x
    Choose the EYEDROPPER tool.
    x
    Sample the color you want from an object in your image.
    x
    Double-click on the fill icon at the bottom of the tool panel.
    This brings up the COLOR PICKER panel.
    In that panel, you'll find the numeric value of the color you sampled.
    I followed these instructions but when the COLOR PICKER panel came up, it didn't show the color it was suppose to show.  The color I sampled with the eyedropper was a light blue with a gradient.  I had a few different files up with the same image.  One file brought up the color orange in the Color Picker panel.  And another file brought up a total BLACK, with a numeric value of 0000!  Can anyone tell me what's happening?

    My guess is the eyedropper tool is struggling.  The best way and the one I use is to get color readings in Photoshop using its eyedropper tool.  Write down the color percentages for each color you want from the image.  Then, in Illustrator, I use the color palette to create new swatches using the percentage I wrote down from the actual image file.  Those new swatches can be used ( or transferred to ) in the gradient palette.  I have never used the eyedropper tool for getting color from anywhere in Illustrator.  But, that's just me.

  • Book Module Lightroom 4 -- can I use a color picker to pick a color from a photo to use as the backg

    I am trying to match a background color for a page in a Blurb book using the Lightroom 4 Book Module.  Is there any way I can use the color picker to pick a color from the photo to use as the color for the background and as the type color?  I see the color box for these situations, but the color picker only seems to work with the color array that pops up and doesn't go to the photo.  Any suggestions?  Am I overlooking something very obvious?

    It works for me.
    The usual Lightroom way: click the eyedropper onto the color palette first, then hold and drag to your photo to sample color.

  • Browsers not showing same color from DW

    Folks, I have somelinks I am designing in photoshop and
    placing in a table in DW. I made the background color of the table
    the same as the grey in my link graphic by sampling the color with
    the eye dropper on the graphic.
    The greys from the table background and the link show up fine

    Internet Explorer and Firefox there is clearly a separation of
    color.
    I am on a Mac using OS X if this makes any difference.
    I need help.

    That's not what web safe colors means today, and in any even
    different
    monitors will show your colors somewhat differently.

  • Sampling HSL Color in 3D vector scope and matching in color wheel

    I am attempting to match two clips together. I have already adjusted luma and rgb values with the still shot comparison. I would now like to sample a color in the still shot get those values and then attempt to secondary grade with the HSL values. Now what's confusing me is that when I look at the sampled hue values (3d vectorscope set to HSL) they are like 217.7, 218.3, 218.8 etc. How do I match those hue values on the main color wheels when the hue values on the color wheel can only be adjusted from .00 to 1?

    Yikes. That is a difficult one (for me at least). Luckily I have not had to work much with issues like that.
    I had one project that was shot in a desert on two different days under different cloud conditions. What a pain. I have much less hair now. So I can kind of understand what you are going through.
    I guess depending on the shot, if the sky is unobstructed, it might just be quicker to composite in a new sky and then try to match up the rest of the shot via the secondaries in Color. Of course if you do that, then you get into more than likely having to do a reconform to replace the clip with the clip that has the new sky.
    I'm not as seasoned as others on here, maybe they can provide better suggestions than me.
    Good luck!
    P.S. I would be interested in knowing what you solution ends up being.

  • Sampling the color of a pixel

    I have a very simple question: Is it possible for applescript to sample the color of a specific pixel on my screen and store it in a variable? (or three variables as the case may be)
    Thanks

    I knew I saw something like this earlier, but it took me a little while to find it.
    There is a scripting addition called XTools that lets you move the mouse from AppleScript - it is available at http://lestang.org/osax/XTool/XTool-2.0.dmg.tgz . With XTools installed, it is a simple matter to move the mouse to where you want, then tell DigitalColor Meter to copy the color to the clipboard (it isn't scriptable, but you can use keystrokes):
    <pre style="
    font-family: Monaco, 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;
    font-size: 10px;
    margin: 0px;
    padding: 5px;
    border: 1px solid #000000;
    width: 720px;
    color: #000000;
    background-color: #FFEE80;
    overflow: auto;"
    title="this text can be pasted into the Script Editor">
    move mouse {500, 500} -- requires XTool OSAX
    tell application "DigitalColor Meter"
    activate
    tell application "System Events" to keystroke "c" using {shift down, command down}
    end tell
    log (get the clipboard)
    </pre>

  • Skin colors from variables?

    My app is shaping up to use several skins.  Not a problem, but I'd like to have a way to reference a global variable for a color used in a skin.
    For example, if I have something like
         <!-- layer 3: title bar fill -->
         <s:Rect left="1" right="1" top="1" height="30">
            <s:fill>
            <s:LinearGradient rotation="90">
            <s:GradientEntry color="0xE8D8B4" alpha="1"/>
            <s:GradientEntry color="0xD3B36D" alpha="1"/>
            </s:LinearGradient>
            </s:fill>
         </s:Rect>
    I would like to set, in the main app, a pair of variables such as
    [Bindable] public var gradStart:String = "0xE8D8B4"
    and then use in the component for the gradient entry.
    Is this possible?  What's the syntax?

    I've never used getters and setters.  I will need to look into it.  Thanks.
    I tried using
    [Bindable]
    public var testColor:String = "0xff0000";
    in the main app and then:
    color="{FlexGlobals.topLevelApplication.testColor}" in the component.  It did work, surprisingly, except for a warning about not being able to detect changes to testColor.
    What I ulitmately need to do is to be able to have all these values in an XML file, load that into an XMLListCollection and then "assign" the colors from that.  What would be ideal is if I could do it right from the list, something like:
    [Bindable]
    public var styleList:XMLListCollection; // contains the xml data
    then
    color="{styleList.window[0].colorValue}"
    Any idea if something like this is feasible?

  • Three colored vertical gradient in Muse

    Hi all,
    I want to have a gradient background in Muse. I found there was a very easy way to do this, but I can only choose two colors.
    My client wants to have a three colored vertical gradient background, is this possible in Muse?
    The top should be black, from black to turquoise in the middle, and back to black again at the bottom.
    I know there is a way to add a photo to the background, but I think this will make my site very heavy and large to load, and it should stretch and shrink if browser varies in length and width.
    I have the HTML script for this kind of gradient, and I know I can add an HTML into Muse, but I don't know how this can work for a background.
    Hopefully anyone can help me!
    Thankyou!
    Caroline

    Hello Sir,
    As per the muse functioning only two colors  can be use to create a gradient. Although you can create Gradient in Photoshop using more than three colors and later you use the created image in the Muse.
