Sample Content Management Plan Doc

Hi,
Does anyone has sample Content Management Plan docs.
I do remember that, in BO online e learning courses, they provide these sample docs as part of their exercises.
I lost those docs. Now I don't have access to those courses too.
If anyone has the same docs or something similar docs, please provide.
As I Installed a fresh installation, I would need to create CMP doc.
Kindly help me.
Thank you.

Hi Robert,
Thanks for the input.
I've configured the template using the document template tool (CRM_OI_TEMPLDSG) i.e. available  on web for business role SALESPRO -> Sales Operations-> Document Templates with template profile as Object type. This template profile, I assigned to one of transaction type of acitvites.
But the button "With template" under attachment tab with this activity type is not getting enabled.
I'll be interested to know if any missing steps or setting required for template configuration.
Regards,
Arjun

  • XML DB Content Management Sample

    I'm trying to build a content management system.
    I downloaded the XML DB CS Sysytem sample from
    http://otn.oracle.com/sample_code/tech/xml/xmldb/cmsxdb/index.html
    1) Opened the sample workspace in J Developer V903.
    2) Added all libraries according to the installation instructions (Install.html).
    3) Compiled the project - got the following errors:
    Error(299,15): method setLogger(org.apache.log.Logger) not found in class org.apache.fop.apps.Driver
    Error(37): Unable to find class for bean: servletutils defined by tag with class: oracle.otnsamples.cmsxdb.useraction.ServletUtils
    What's the cause and solution for these errors? Have these methods been deprecated? Thanks

    Hi Elango,
    Many thanks for pointing this out - that was quite BLIND of me not to see it. This solved both errors. Thank you very much!

  • Any code samples for inputting content into content manager 8.1?

    Does anybody know where to find code samples of adding content to the Content Manager

    The only code I can find is the "Content Manager Example Portlet" and it is 7.0,
    not 8.1.
    It's not clear from the documentation what the Repository and Path are supposed
    to be named. Perhaps we had a working example, this might help.

  • Content Management approach in a JSF application

    Hi all,
    I had developed a JSF application. Now I would like to manage my application in the content management approach, that is changing the text content or image by means of an admin console. Kindly suggest me if there is any way to accomplish this.
    Thanks in Advance!!

    The richfaces editor component comes to mind, as a start.
    [http://docs.jboss.org/richfaces/latest_3_3_X/en/devguide/html/rich_editor.html|http://docs.jboss.org/richfaces/latest_3_3_X/en/devguide/html/rich_editor.html]
    But honestly, I would say this is a clear case of too late. If you want the content of your application to be managed, the application should have been designed and developed with that idea in mind from the very beginning. What you have now is probably just some static JSF/facelets pages with perhaps a facelets template here or there, but what you want is dynamic content where you can swap out text, images and probably have some control over where they are placed and how they space. That is not going to happen out of the box, it requires development work and careful planning. Good luck trying to work that into an existing product.

  • How to create a built in Content Management System

    Hey guys, I've found myself in a spot of trouble.
    My client commissioned me to create for him a website for his new restaurant (Paul's Place). I built him a responsive site using another website I found online (www.megnarestaurant.com) as a guideline. The problem is though that the client plans on changing the menu about every month and wants to be able to change it himself. I could teach him how to edit the files and add new ocntent himself (It's not even that hard after all) but that just doesn't seem like the right option.
    Instead, I want to create a built in content management system that doesn't require a third party website or software like Wordpress or Joomla. I was thinking about having a page called "www.paulsdiner.com/login" where the client can log in using a username and password and can then change the content of the website.
    My menu page is pretty much the same as the one found on "www.megnarestaurant.com/starters.html". I'm also using gloriafoods as an ordering system meaning that the client will have to change it on both the website itself and on the actual gloriafoods website (Not really an issue).
    I want the client to be able to edit the menu boxes and add new boxes along with being able to add a new menu section (Like in the Jump Menu) which follows the template of the existing Jump Menu.
    I'm making this website as a favour to my friend so I'm not being paid. As a point of reference (And future bragging and maybe some innocent blackmail ) how much do you guys think the creator of "www.megnarestaurant.com" charged his client?

    Have a look at Perch
    Perch - The really little content management system (CMS) - Perch
    It requires a php/mysql database to run but the tables and set up are all automated through the Perch set up files - you just need a server that runs php/mysql. It works on the same principals as the one Ben suggested but its a lot cheaper for a one off site - however if you intend to build more CMS driven sites the one Ben suggested might be more financially viable in the long run.
    The nice thing about Perch CMS is it fits in with your workflow unlike Wordpress/Joomla where you have to jump through hoops to change anything.
    Plus I think you can take Perch for a spin before buying (or at least you could when I was exploring CMSs) - you can't with Power CMS. I never investigated Power CMS beacuse I would not buy something before trying it. It looks good but it might be a bit dated as it doesnt seem to be in continuous develoment. Perch is in a constant state of development and the guys are working to make it better on a daily basis.

  • Content Management using WLP Vs using a Third Party CM Tool

    Hi All,
    In our Application we have a Workflow which we earlier implemented using WLI and stored the Content in File System ( The Dis advantages with this is no versioning capability , hard to manage the Content etc..)
    Now we are plannning to use WLP's Content Management Capabilities.
    Does the Library Services support a workflow ?? Does Workflow Definitions conform to any standard ?? (Like BPEL etc)
    The Content we have is a set of forms ( XML Based) and are unique for each user Task . Might be using the goal technology to capture the data from the Users..
    I would like to know the pros and cons of using WLP Content Management Features vs Storing the Content in a Full fledged CM tool and accessing it from the Portlets Deployed.
    Features we are looking for are..
    Versioning , Search Capabilities , History info
    Thanks
    Sateesh

    How do I create plan.xml for every env Im not sure what you mean. Use vi/notepad if you want! See the section 'Using an Existing Deployment Plan to Configure an Application' in the link. You simply need to create this plan once with the value you want and you can use the same one with a different path value(the one you want to change) for each environment. Whether you want to create a template plan.xml whose value is replaced by an ant build is upto you.
    Plan.xml is similar to a WLST script, you'd only need to parameterise the actual value you want to use as the path(and you'd have to run both for every deployment) - Im not sure this value is accessible over WLST though..

  • Problem with images in content management portlet

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to use the content management portlet provided with Bea WLP 8.1 SP4, but I've a problem with the images (they're not displayed at all, only a lot of red "X"s). Some how it seems to be a problem with the Taglib render. It tries to get the resourceRootPath to post it in front of the src path in the image tag and it always includes the parameter that are in the URL.
    I followed the instructions in the help of workshop, so I think I've imported every needed files. Moreover, the images are in the right folder tree. The wired thing is, that the My Content Portlet works fine.
    Any help for a newbie???
    Cheers,
    Cord

    Hi Cord,
    I was having that same problem, and I couldn't find anything on this website either. I tried creating a new portal project and following the directions exactly again, but it didn't work there either. It works in the sample portal.
    So I contacted BEA Support, and they were able to provide me with a solution:
    The file url-template-config.xml (in the WEB-INF directory) has to be modified and have the {url:currentPage} parameter removed in order to get the images working for the content management portlet. For now, do this only in the section <!-- URL templates -->. Leave the other places like in WSRP etc as it is.
    I actually took it out of the WSRP places too, by accident, but I don't use WSRP anyway, and everything else seems to be working fine. And the images show up!
    Hope this works for you too,
    Beth

  • Out of the box porlets for Content Management with BEA Portal

    I am looking at BEA Portal for a simple Intranet site with some basic content management system capabilities. I would like to implement this without the use of a third party tool and wanted to know if there are any open source or out of the box BEA portlets/web-apps with basic CMS capabilities beyond what has been shown in the Portal tutorials around CMS. From doing the tutorials, I have learned how to manage content, and how to build a site from scratch to access the content using the <cm:> tags. However, without additional third party products such as Documentum or Interwoven, is there any free BEA/open source portlets to:
    - Configure exposure of this content in a runtime framework? (ie content manager can expose new content from the repository by a configurable admin GUI, place where this content is on the page)
    - Allow for a simple approval workflow where content that gets added to the repository by user A has to be approved by user B before automatically exposing?
    Interested to know if custom portal type development is the only way to do these kind of simple functions, or third party product.

    Hi,
    Did you have a chance to look into WebLogic Portal 8.1 SP3? Check out the new Library Services features, which includes versioning and simple approval:
    http://e-docs.bea.com/wlp/docs81/adminportal/help/CM_MAN_LifecycleOV.html
    We also provide a few ootb portlets that allow users to interact with the CM system. Let us know if you have additional questions.

  • Oracle Universal Content Management 11gR1 'download file1' is corrupt

    Hello,
    I am at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/content-management/downloads/index-085241.html and downloaded the part 1 and 2 of the Oracle Universal Content Management 11gR1 software. The part 2 looks good but part 1 is corupt (it is only 4mb). I tried this download from different computers and browsers which doesn't help
    Does everyone have the same problem?
    Thanks

    Workflow for document approvals and routing is supplied out of the box without the need for separate software or installs.
    What you can do is described here:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10316_01/cs/cs_doc_10/documentation/admin/workflow_guide_10gr3en.pdf
    The more complex integrated processes can use BPEL Manager which does require addditional component and software

  • Hardware requirement for Oracle Universal Content Management

    Hi Experts,
    What are the Hardware requirements for Oracle Universal Content Management ?
    Regards
    Nasir

    does this help?
    Oracle WebLogic Server 11g (10.3.3) System Requirements
    Oracle WebLogic Server supports a number of platforms including:
    – Linux
    – Sun Solaris
    – HP-UX
    – Windows 2000, 2003 Server, XP
    • Processor:
    – At least one 1 GHz CPU is recommended.
    – Intel and UNIX processors are supported.
    • Hard disk drive:
    – A full installation requires approximately 2 GB of disk space.
    – The Linux value for file descriptors must be 4096 or greater.
    – Samples are optional (download from OTN).
    • Memory:
    – A minimum of 2 GB RAM is recommended for WebLogic
    Server.
    – Consider the number of simultaneous users and sessions.
    – Consider in-memory programs, such as Coherence.
    System Requirements
    The following are some of the basic system requirements for Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3.3:
    • The Oracle WebLogic Server installer requires a Java Runtime Environment (JRE) to run.
    Oracle WebLogic Server is certified with JDK6.0. As part of the installation, it gives the option
    to install the JRockit JDK 6.0 version. As part of postinstallation, prefix the bin directory of
    the JDK to the PATH environment variable.
    • The Oracle WebLogic Server installer requires a temporary location in which to unpack the
    files. Typically, the installer requires approximately 2.5 times the amount of temporary space
    that is required by the installed files.
    Note: In this release of WebLogic Server, users can choose which components of WebLogic Server
    they use. Specifically, this release allows users to choose whether the Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB),
    Java Message Service (JMS), and J2CA services are started when WebLogic Server is started. The
    benefit of excluding some services is reduced memory footprint and reduced startup time.

  • How to use DPS for a daily newspaper with content management system like wordpress

    Hi,
    I am using DPS for magazines.  I would like to use it urgently for a newspaper company.  the content will be in form of Content Management System such as wordpress, joomla.  I know i can upload html content into folios.  How do I display content like The New york Times and Washington post  on iPad using digital publishing suites?

    Hi,
    Please send me a private mail (ktukker at_sign adobe -d o t - com ) with your question and description of workflow. Can you give me some sample links of Washington Post / NYT that you are referring too?
    You can combine an HTML workflow with DPS. have a look at the Shell Scenarios app; content has all be created in HTML articles.

  • Weblogic 10.3 content management requirement.

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to pull the pdf from the weblogic content management without weblogic portal configuration. Is it is possible to achive this.If possible please suggest me how to do.
    thanks in advance....
    Uday Sariki.

    In your JSP, use the <embed> and <object> html tags appropriate for Flash files, like this:
    http://www.w3schools.com/flash/flash_inhtml.asp
    For the src attribute (the url to your swf file in UCM), you can either use the ShowPropertyServlet class:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13155_01/wlp/docs103/javadoc/com/bea/content/manager/servlets/ShowPropertyServlet.html
    Or construct it with something ugly like:
    src="<%= request.contextPath%>/ShowPropertyServlet?nodePath=<%= node.path %>"
    You might need to URLEncode the path.
    Some comparable Java code looks like this:
    try
    StringBuffer imageSrc = new StringBuffer();
    imageSrc.append(request.getContextPath());
    imageSrc.append("/ShowPropertyServlet?nodePath=");
    String requestEncoding = request.getCharacterEncoding();
    if (requestEncoding == null)
    requestEncoding = "UTF-8";
    String encodedPath = URLEncoder.encode(node.getPath(), requestEncoding);
    imageSrc.append(encodedPath);
    imageSrc.append("//");
    imageSrc.append(propertyName);
    return imageSrc.toString();
    catch(UnsupportedEncodingException uee)
    return "";
    }
