ADF BC Sample Design Documents
Anyone out there using design documents for ADF BC, before starting the development?
In the OTN there are lots of samples that start directly with the BC Wizard, but I have seen no recommendation of how to do a detailed design of the business logic layer (based on ADF BC), before the implementation.
In the book "Oracle Jdeveloper 10g for Forms & PL/SQL Developer" it suggests the following:
"An effective design method for the ADF BC layer is driving its design from the user interface screens as they are planned. View objects and view links should be developed to support the data requirements for each screen. In addition, entity objects are created to support the data needs of the view object".
I am looking for a sample (doesn't need to be of a complex application), that shows design concepts of an application when using ADF BC.

Upgrading final Cut Pro - recieved as a gift, and designated "Not for Sale"
I've been working in FCP with a version that a friend, in the business, was given as a perk and passed on to me. The FCP that he gave me is marked "Not for Sale". I did register it.
I just upgraded to Tiger and am having problems with dropping frames in capture. After looking at this discussion forum, I conclude that it's necessary to upgrade my FCP. Does anyone know if it Is possible to upgrade a product that was a promo gift, and thus designated, "Not For Sale"?So it was a promo item, and not an academic version? AKA, it says Not For Sale on the registration screen when FCP opens? Those versions are usually handed out to academic institutions and are so that students or teachers could use a full version without buying it. Unfortunately, the only way for you to upgrade is to buy a whole new full retail version.

Scoping Question on follow-up documents for Sales Quotes
One of the scoping questions in the "Integration into Sales, Service, and Marketing Processes" in the Customer Quotes section asks:
"Do you want to create follow-up documents for sales quotes from your cloud solution to an external application?"

What follow-up documents is this referring ?
Would be related to creating Sales Orders in the ERP ?

On creating the sales quote in C4C, request can be triggered to ERP system for Sales Order Request.
Once Sales Order gets created in the ERP system, 'Sales Order Request' and 'Sales Order' documents can be captured in C4C.

For individual document you can go to VA03 ,Vl03n, va02 or vl02n, vf03 or vf02 and click on document flow.
Also you can find the details of preceding document for all the sales documents in the single table VBFA. Tcode -se11 or se16 or se16n.

In CRM 4.0 follow the below path:
SPRO --> Customer Relationship Management --> Marketing --> Marketing Planning and Campaign Management --> General Settings --> Edit Categories for Change Documents
Then maintain the entry for application as MKT for each entry, then under object type: CPG, CPT, MPL, MPT, TPM, TPT and then Check box the entry under change document for all the entries.
If you want to display the change log history use report : CRM_MKTPL_CD_DISPLAY in CRM 4.0

Change Documents for Sales Order (VA03)

Is it possible to track changes to the text (VA03 - Header Detail - Text Tab) from a Sales Order by using change documents?

CLI don't think that is possible. These are getting stored in Longtext (ie STXH & STXL) by retrieving this also we need to use fm READ_TEXT.
and also in change document table CDPOS fields VALUE_NEW & VALUE_OLD have length limit of 254.

This may be due to Copy controls
Please check the Copy Controls of the Out bound delivery through the transaction VTFL, at header and item levels.
And also check the copy controles of Billing through the transactions VTFA and VTFL, at header and item Levels

Draft documents for Sales return and Goods return

I got two questions, pls kindly help!
1) The draft documents regually if not with approval process, can be removed from draft list, but once it's with approved process, the "approved" draft document can't be removed. How to have it deleted from the list of draft documents? As there are two many drafts and we need to take them out once its data was adding into system....
2) Where we can see the serial# that picked for the draft document?

I am having the problems of Invoice Output..... the default out put generated by the SAP is completely different from the hard copy of the Invoice of the Client. ppl say that I have 2 take the help of ABAPers to define the smart forms for the invoices of different company codes.... i had conversation with the ABAPers.... butthey are asking the format, wht ever the change we are looking for..... I am not be able to get the exact format.... how 2 provide this to ABAPers in FS format.

1st try to understand what is a functional specification doc before asking for it.
Functional specs is a doc in which you include what is the business requirement. If it requires a change to change to existing configs / code, then you will give the progs & the location where you will need to change. If the requirement is a totally new one, then yuo will explain the requirement in detail & possibly give the progs / code if there are any.
In your case, your client has a specific invoice format which is different from which SAP gives, in such cases, you will need to define a new Invoice output for eg ZINV. Define it as a print output. You will need to define a new print prog for the new output in which you will call smart forms to define the layout & fields.
Ask your business user to send the invoice copy which he has. Scan it & include it in the functional specs which you prepare. Mention all the fields which you want in the layout. Ask the ABAPer to code the invoice format in the same way. ABAPer is free to define any convinent name as per the guidelines (which he will be aware). You will need to assign that in the form routines of the output.
As a functional consultant you will need to give the field mappings (from where you get the data) for all the fields which you wish to print in the output. All that should be included in the func specs.
So there is no standard func specs that you can follow. Each func specs varies on the requirement. So dont ask these kind of questions in SDN forum. If you dont know how to define func specs, ask how to define. Dont ask people to send the sample func specs. Thats against the rules of conduct.
